A/N: This is a different kind of request/fic from what I've written for OC so far but I was pretty intrigued by it so I decided to give it a go. Not opening requests for daughter fics at the moment still because I’m not sure how this turned out yet so let me know what you guys think!
STELLARIDE MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
You looked up from where you’d been playing with the food on your plate, only to catch Stella smile at your father who was sitting next to you.
Resisting the urge to make a face, you turned to look at him. “Can I be excused?”
Kelly gave a small sigh and turned to look at you, looking like he wanted to say something and then deciding against it, merely nodding. “Yeah, go on.”
You gave his girlfriend a last withering look before you took your plate back into the kitchen.
Kelly suppressed an audible sigh before he looked back at Stella. “Sorry.”
Stella smiled and shook her head. “She just needs some time.”
You rolled your eyes and headed back to your room, plopping yourself down on your bed and staring up at your ceiling.
It wasn’t really that you didn’t like Stella. Hell, you’d been okay with her before you found out she was dating your father.
As far as daughters went, you were sure that you were at least three times more protective over your father than your classmates were about their own parents.
Maybe it had something to do with the fact that you only ever had Kelly growing up. You’d overheard countless discussions about people telling him that it was hard being a single parent especially with his job but whatever anyone said, and however Kelly had felt from the first time he’d found out he’d had a daughter and come to get you, Kelly had stuck it out with you.
Over the years, especially once you were older, you’d seen many girlfriends come and go - some didn’t want commitment, some ran the moment they found out about you, some just… didn’t make it. It didn’t matter that Kelly had seemed fine with everything. You were not, so all that had done was make you even more protective over him.
So when you’d found out about Stella, you’d felt your hackles raise.
Logically, you knew Stella had done nothing to deserve this but your 15 year old brain couldn’t seem to override the emotion with logic.
You lay there for a while more until there was a knock on your door and Kelly poked his head in.
“Hey kiddo. Can we talk?”
You sat up but didn’t give him an answer because you knew very well what he wanted to talk about and you weren’t sure you wanted to hear it.
Kelly came in anyway, pulling out the chair at your desk and sitting across from you.
“Will you give Stella a break?”
You looked up with a look of protest and Kelly held up a hand.
“I know.” Kelly said in a low voice, giving you a small smile to show you he wasn’t mad. “Just lighten up a little and give her a chance. That’s all I’m asking.”
You didn’t say anything but Kelly let out a chuckle as you pursed your lips. “Go easy.”
He pressed a kiss to the top of your head before patting your hair affectionately and leaving the room.
Tumblr media
You pulled your jacket tighter around you, glancing behind you.
You hadn’t meant to let it get so late but you’d gotten a little too immersed in your notes and lost track of time. Other than the wind blowing against your back and making you shiver, you hadn’t realized how quiet the road from your friend’s house was.
You kind of regretted not calling Kelly to come and get you, but you also didn’t relish the idea of waiting here so you’d forged on, telling yourself you’d walked this street thousands of times.
But now, you were pretty sure someone was following you, hearing the echoing footsteps behind you.
Damn it.
Your hands that were jammed into your pockets closed around your phone but you were also worried things would escalate so you picked up your pace instead.
You heard the footsteps behind you match the increase in your speed and just as you thought you should break into a run, you were yanked backwards and unable to maintain your balance, you tumbled onto the concrete pavement, feeling the concrete scrape against your skin.
Your head snapped upwards, feeling your heart fall straight into your gut when you looked back into the face of the man that now towered over you.
It was a stranger, not a face you remembered seeing, but his lips ticked upwards in a smile that flipped your stomach over and your gut feeling as well as every nerve in your body was screaming at you to get up and run.
Flight.
You scrambled to your feet, slowly moving backwards as he now stepped towards you. His movements had slowed, like a predator that had just cornered his prey.
He took another step towards you and with well chosen timing, you brought your knee up swiftly, just like how Kelly had taught you.
Winded, the man bent over but not before letting out a growl.
You didn’t stick around long enough to find out what he had to say, your legs already moving before your brain realized you were running.
The wind blowing against you was painful but you didn’t dare stop because you weren’t sure if he was on your heels.
You turned the corner, sparing a glance back and collided straight into someone.
“Sorry.” You panted, glancing up.
“Y/N?” Stella looked surprised to see you before her expression switched to one of concern. “What’s wrong?”
Stella glanced up at the empty street behind you and then looked back at you. “You okay?”
You really didn’t have the energy for anything else. You just really needed an adult. You glanced up at her without talking and Stella reached for your hand.
When you didn’t pull away, Stella squeezed. “Do you want me to take you home?”
You shook your head quickly. “No. Wait. I just… I don’t want Dad to see me like this.”
Stella studied you for just a second more before she nodded. “My apartment’s just around the corner. Why don’t you come and have something at my place and we can talk? If you want to.”
You hesitated for just a second but you were still kind of spooked so you nodded, letting her lead you back down from where she came from, not even realizing your hand was still in hers.
Tumblr media
Stella wasn’t exaggerating when she said her apartment was around the corner.
Within five minutes, you were seated on Stella’s couch, a cup of hot tea in your hands while you found yourself telling her what happened.
It was weird - you’d expected Stella to maybe pat your shoulders a little to reassure you that things would be fine before trying to convince you to call Kelly so he could come and get you. She wouldn't be the first girlfriend to hand you back over to your father as soon as she could.
But the emotions on Stella’s face as you told her were new to you - looks of concern, before outrage and then… if you didn’t know any better, you’d think she was upset.
You fell quiet after a while and Stella scooted a little closer to you.
“Alright, Y/N, listen.” Stella said and you looked up at her. “We have to report this.”
You looked back down again, your index fingers twirling together even though you were still holding the mug.
“I’ll come with you.” Stella paused. “If you’ll let me.”
You looked up again and nodded quietly. "You… You’d do that?”
You registered a look of surprise on Stella’s face before she next spoke. “Of course, Y/N.”
“Can we not call my dad yet?”
There was a small silence and you held back a sigh. You knew what would happen if your father found out about this. Other than the fact that you hated making him worry and that you knew things might get blown up out of proportion with practically everyone getting involved, it was kind of awkward talking to him about some stuff.
Stella glanced at you. “How about we take things one step at a time?”
You bit your lip and Stella nodded encouragingly at you. “Let’s go to the district and then when you’re ready, we can call Kelly alright?”
You nodded quietly, taking another sip of tea before Stella smiled. “Ready?”
You got up and Stella grabbed an extra coat off her coat hanger, draping it around your shoulders.
Tumblr media
Stella had been told to wait outside while you gave your statement to the uniformed police officer sitting across from you but you were regretting this with each question the officer asked you.
“What were you doing out so late?”
“Is this what you normally wear to school?
You were done with the insinuations in his voice and tone. You were 15, not an idiot. You knew exactly where this was going and you’d been around your father’s friends long enough to pick some stuff up.
You stood all of a sudden, the nails digging into your palms in an effort not to let the angry tears out. “I’m not answering any more questions.”
“What do you…”
You didn’t let him finish his sentence, opening the door and stalking out.
As promised, Stella was right outside, glancing up as you walked out, reading the expression on your face instantly.
“You okay?”
You pulled Stella’s jacket tighter around yourself. “I just want to go home.”
Stella frowned, glancing up at the officer that was now outside the room as well. “You still have to answer a few questions. You can’t just…”
You didn’t move and Stella looked back down at you. “Y/N?”
“He hasn’t asked me a single question about what happened.” You said in a low voice, focusing only on Stella now. “No questions about how the man looked, what street this took place on, how he sounded.”
Stella frowned. Those were enough for her to put together a few pieces of the puzzle.
“Those are necessary questions. We need to know if…”
“Kidd. Y/N.”
You glanced up at a familiar face and Stella patted your back. “Told you I got you.” She whispered in a low voice so only you could hear.
Stella nodded with a smile at Hailey.
Telling the officer she’d take over, Hailey led you back into the room and smiled encouragingly at you.
“Stella called me. Will you tell me what happened?”
It was easier than you’d expected to talk to Hailey but even as you told her what happen, you found yourself internally steeling yourself for a lecture of some sort and you suddenly just really wished Kelly was here.
But Hailey offered no lecture or talking-to. Instead, she treated you like an adult, taking down the information you offered, her questions only revolving around important information she obviously needed, before she closed the book.
“Thank you, Y/N. Here.” Hailey handed you a small bottle and a small device. “Pepper spray and a small panic button.”
You looked up a little surprised and Hailey smiled. “If nothing, maybe it’ll help you feel safer.”
You nodded, keeping the things she handed you and Hailey came around and squeezed your shoulder before taking you out of the room again where Stella was waiting.
“Dad must be worried, I…”
Stella shook her head with a smile. “I told him you’re with me so he wouldn’t. I can call him if you’re ready.”
You felt involuntary tears well up in your eyes before you nodded. "Can you? I... I think I really need him."
Kelly was here in record time, running up the steps of the district as if he’d been waiting nearby in the first place but you didn’t care. The rush of relief and safety when you saw him made you wonder why you hadn’t gone to him immediately anyway.
“Y/N!”
You didn’t say anything, merely shooting off your seat to dive into your father’s arms like you were a child once again.
“You okay? Let me see.” Kelly pulled away just a little to look at you but other than remnants of the startled look in your eyes and new tears ready to spill over, you weren’t really hurt.
Kelly gently pulled you back into his arms and exhaled. “Thank god.”
He was never one for long verbal communications of how much he loved you but you didn’t really need him to tell you. This was even more apparent now as you were huddled in your father’s arms in the middle of a police district.
“You must be starving.” Kelly said after a while, looking down at you to wipe a stray tear off your face. “Why don’t we go get something to eat, hmm?”
You gave a small crooked smile and Kelly looked up, meeting Stella’s eyes.
“I’ll call you tomorrow.” Kelly said with a small apologetic smile at Stella. “Thank you.”
Stella nodded, but you interrupted them. “You’re not coming to eat with us?”
Kelly raised his eyebrows.
“Thought I’d give you two some private time.” Stella said, although she seemed to be weighing the look in your eyes now.
You shrugged. “You can come eat with us, too.”
Kelly glanced between his girlfriend and daughter. “Did something happen?”
You shrugged, lowering your voice. “She’s alright I guess.”
Kelly chuckled, swinging an arm around your shoulders as he led you out of the district. Stella fell into step on your other side and you smiled up at her. “Thank you.” You whispered, fully aware your father could hear you.
Stella smiled. “Thank you, too.”
Kelly just smiled at both his girls as the three of you walked down the empty streets. Together.

Tough Call - Stellaride
Tumblr media
Fandom: One Chicago
Pairing: Kelly Severide x Stella Kidd
Request: Would you please where a one shot where during the night Stella goes to Kelly’s quarter after something goes really bad on a call (they are married and both have already lieutenant position)
MASTERLIST
•••
A stormy night in Chicago was never a good night...at least not for the firefighters of Firehouse 51 who were barely able to catch a break since starting the shift.
So far everything ran smoothly but the last call was a tough one, particularly on Stella. As the trucks arrived back at the Firehouse and everybody took their gear down, they scattered throughout the premises either trying to sleep, relax or eat something.
"Hey! I'll go write the incident report." Kelly said giving Stella a kiss on the cheek then heading to his quarters. She remained still and silent as the last call was heavy on her mind. It was no secret that she had a serious case of imposter syndrome and even though she knew she was a great firefighter, sometimes she questioned her leader abilities.
"Don't do that! Don't overthink it Kidd...just put it down on paper and carry on." She heard Hermann say from across the room. Even if she didn't voice her concerns, he had enough years on the job to spot a firefighter beating themselves up after a call. "Will do that Hermann...thanks!" And with that she made her way through the bunkroom and towards Kelly's quarters. His desk light was the only thing illuminating around and she could see him focusing on the paper in front of him. With a very light knock she caught his attention making him turn his head towards her.
Without saying a word, Kelly knew what was up and immediatly signaled her to sit down on his bed.
"Do you think I made the right call?" Stella mumbled before taking a big breath in as if she was trying to stop herself from crying.
"You got your men out safe before the entire house and a tree collapsed on them...they're all going home at the end of the shift." Kelly knew very well what Stella was going through. In his first year as a lieutenant, he was completely miserable, constantly questioning his decision and abilities, but he pulled through because everyone does.
"But I told her to hang on and I'll be back for her...I should've grabbed her right th-" Before she could continue Kelly grabbed her arm and making her look at him. "Not everybody can be saved...you have to take your wins into consideration because if you're going to only focus on your losses it will drain you."
The units responded to a call where an old tree fell right through a house taking down a few electricity cables with it and causing a fire. As they got there, they knew the property was very unstable and could collapse any minute. Inside was living a family of four and while the others managed to get out the husband and one of the kids, Stella found the mom and the other child. She was pinned down by a branch of the tree and Stella could tell she was severely injured but still conscious. With every step she made, Stella felt the floor cracking under her so with huge effort she barely grabbed the child from his mom's arms and before leaving Stella told her she'll be back to get her too. Walking down whatever was left of the stairs she radioed everyone to get out immediately and right as she stepped outside holding the small child under her turnout coat, the entire property came down.
"I told her I'll be back..." The thought that she left the woman behind was actually eating her alive especially because in her career she didn't have a lot of people that she couldn't save.
"The house was in horrible shape...Squad would've had to get to her and cut the branch off and there is no way it would've hold us Stella...you saved everyone that could be saved." Moving on the bed next to her, she left herself almost melt into Kelly's arms taht embraced her so tightly. "You're going to have a lot of calls keeping you up at night...you'll constantly ask yourself whether there was anything more that you could've done but when it comes to decisions...those bugles on your collar don't end up there randomly so trust your judgment and your gut feeling." Smiling to herself, Stella knew coming to Kelly was exactly what she needed because somehow, in situations like this one he always knew the right words to say. Grabbing his face with both her hands Stella placed a deep kiss on Kelly's lips before the two finished writing the incident reports together.

“your looking lovely” matt tells you his eyes fanning up and down ur dressed up figure
you were clad in a little black dress, one of matts favourites it hugged your figure in all the right places. your hair in soft curls and just the right amount of makeup on.
you smile widely feeling his arms drape around your waist.
“thankyou” you say before turning around and pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
“where are you off?” he questions arms returning to there spot around your waist
“just going out with stella and sylvie, i thought i told you ealier?” you questioned tilting your head at your boyfriend, vaguely remembering telling him in his office earlier,
“you might have, sorry babe i must’ve forgot” he told you hugging ur body tighter
you laugh softly at his forgetfulness something you often tease him about.
“well i’m going now i told the girls id meet them at molly’s at 8 and it’s 7:55” you tell matt removing his arms from their spot
“do you really have to go?” matt questions you like a lost puppy
“yes, we’re celebrating”
“celebrating what?” he questions
“errr, sylvies single-ness” you stumble not quite knowing how to word it
“well have fun, but you better not be celebrating any single-ness” he jokes pulling you in for a final kiss
“i would never, i love you matt”
“goodbye” you tell him turning to walk out the door
“i love you too, be safe” he smiles as you walk out the door.
you arrive at molly’s quickly jumping out ur car and locking it aware of your lateness.
“there she is… only” stella looks down at her phone the screen lighting up “15 minutes late” she jokes
you hug both her and brett “sorry guys sorry” “you can blame matt” you tell them
“i don’t want to know” sylvie shakes her head in disgust jokingly
“second that” stella agrees
“nothing like that guys we were just talking, i promise” you laugh
“hmmm” stella mumbles
“right let’s go and find brett a man” you say which causes stella to let herrman know she’s leaving
“ahh taking away my favourite truck member before i even get to say hi” herrman jokes patting stella on the head
“sorry herrman stella just jealous i’m your favourite” you say blowing them both a kiss
stella laughs sarcastically and herrman just grins
“have fun you guys” he says gesturing to your group
“will do thankyou” sylvie smiles warmly at herrman
after saying your goodbyes stella and sylvie grab there bags and you head to the nearest club.
“i needed this thanks guys” sylvie says slamming her second shot down on the bar side before walking over to some guy she’s been giving the eyes to since you got in the bar
you and stella just laugh at her but keep and eye on her and you find a booth to sit in making sure sylvie knows where you will be if she needs you.
you take a seat stella following behind you engaging in conversation about her and kelly’s relationship making you smile and how happy stella is when she talks about him
“hows you and matt then?” stella questions
but before you can answer a tall figure makes his way over to your table
“james!!” you exclaim standing up to greet the man
“sorry stella this is james, my cousin” you tell her introducing the two
“hi i’m stella, y/ns friend” she greets him with a smile
“hey” he smiles back warmly
“you girls mind if i sit for a bit i have no clue where the guys have gone and will be nice to catch up” he suggests looking at you both
you look at stella making sure she was okay with it and she nods a smile still on her face
“of course you can james” you tell him gesturing for him to sit down
he sits down on your side of the booth and you all begin to talk, you and stella telling him about your relationships with matt and kelly too recent saves you’ve made, overall everyone was getting on really well.
so well that you all lost track of time only remembering when brett comes over
“guys i’m getting married!!” she exclaims
“no your not” you say laughing beofre telling james your goodbyes and setting off home.
you reach the door to yours and matts apartment fumbling for your keys not being able to wait to get ur heels off
you finally open the door and wonder i’m pulling ur heels off
you see the glow of the tv and the soft noise of voices coming from it, at first you assume matt fell asleep watching it due to the late time but that was quickly disproved when you saw him sat wide awake staring wide eyed at his phone dozens of empty beer bottles surrounding him.
“matt?” you question making him aware of ur presence
“didn’t think you would be home tonight” he sarcastically laughs
“what’s that supposed to mean?” you question
“i just thought maybe one of the girls would take you home” he says putting ephimsis on girls
“matt your gonna have to explain what your on about and stop making rude comments” you say getting slightly annoyed now
“that club you were in, my old friend happend to be in who then sent me photos of you and some guy getting rather close going, ‘this your girl?’” he states showing you his phone
“matt are you serious” you laugh at the misunderstanding
“y/n it’s not funny, how could you?” he raises his voice
“nice to know how much you care about are relationship, and to think i was gonna ask you to marry me” he paces around
“w-what” you stutter not quite knowing what to say, matt was gonna ask to marry him or was that just the alcohol talking
“matt it was my cousin” you tell him stepping close
“your cousin?” he freezes looking up at you not quite believing you
“your fucking cousin” he repeats
“yes matt, my cousin james i haven’t seen him since he moved away he’s just got back in chicago after his extended collage
“promise” matt says looking at you
“i promise” you tell him locking eyes
“i’m sorry” he tells you
“it’s okay, let’s just go to bed” you tell
him walking away to get ready for bed thoughts racing around your mind, was matt really thinking about marrying him. that thought made you so happy you just hoped it was genuine.

day seventeen: kitchen | s.k. & k.s.
pairing: kelly severide x stella kidd
word count: 237
Tumblr media
The first thing they teach you in the academy is to learn how to fall asleep anywhere and anywhen. Of course it had been difficult at first, to jump from fast asleep to wide awake in a split second, but after almost eight years in the job, not to mention the six months she spent at the academy, it was incredibly rare for her to struggle to fall asleep.
And yet here Stella was, staring into the depths of their refrigerator at half past four in the morning in the hopes that it will send her off to sleep. Resting her head on the barren shelves - they really need to do another food shop soon - she doesn’t pay any notice to the soft footsteps padding across the open plan flooring.
She shuts the refrigerator door and leans back into Kelly’s arms as they snake around her waist, smiling sleepily at her partner who had definitely been fast asleep when she’d left their room, humming happily when he presses a kiss to the top of her hair.
“Come on princess, let’s wear you out,” he says, and before she can call him a lech, he carefully spins her out of his arms before pulling her back in. They sway in the kitchen, no noise guiding them, just the soft light of the early morning sunrise seeping into the room, caressing their skin and bidding them a good morning.

there’s no way chenford don’t get back together by the finale. and even if they don’t, i know they will by next season. i’ve lived through worse with my other ships. caskett, stellaride, brettsey. i could go on and on with ships but i won’t. all i know is a ship comes back better after a break up.
could you imagine if we get a a chenford version of when severide told stella “you deserve a better man then me, so i decide, im going to be the man you deserve”. like i still eat that line up every time i rewatch that episode. so if i get a bradford version of this, ill eat both of those lines up.
y’all are panicking but i’m relaxed af.
i would love that!!! that's one of my favorite lines from severide and showed so much growth after putting stella through the ringer. like just imagine tim saying that he decided that he wants to be deserving of the incredible person she is because that's what it comes down to, he's having a crisis of faith in himself and truly believes he isn't worthy of the love she is giving 😭
i survived the angst of olicity so i'm pretty sure i'm stronger than any US marine 🫡

Can you imagine if Gibson and Kylie do start dating, Stellaride go up to him (Not as Lieutenants, but as two people who care about Kylie) and tell him something along the lines of “You hurt her, you’re dead”. They’re half joking and half serious.
I feel like Stella and Boden would be the ones to go full mama bear/papa bear mode. Sev would probably support the efforts but in more of an intimidating back up kinda way😂

STELLARIDE MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
“Hey Stella.”
Stella raised her head from where she was mixing drinks at the bar, a huge smile growing on her face when her eyes met yours. Stella pushed the drink into Herrmann’s hands before she rounded out of the counter to give you a hug.
Figures that the first place you’d headed for once you reached Chicago was Molly’s.
You hadn’t had an easy childhood, but you also knew that the reason why you’d somehow muddled your way through it was because you and Stella had had each other to hold on to. And even now, when life had forced the two of you into two different cities, nothing could break the bond that you had with Stella. She wasn’t just your best friend, she was your sister.
You’d already been here a couple of times to see Stella and you’d already met and knew most of her friends, so when a job opportunity had given you the chance to move back to Chicago, you didn’t even hesitate.
“Hey, Y/N.”
You broke apart from Stella’s hug to smile back at her fiancé. “Hey Kelly.”
Kelly had been nothing but kind to you from the moment Stella had introduced the both of you and despite their ups and downs, there had always been something about Kelly that clued you in to the fact that he and Stella were just meant to be.
“Everything okay?” Kelly asked, pulling out the chair next to him for you to slide onto as Stella headed back around to the back of the bar to get you your drink.
“I got the job.”
Stella looked up from what she was doing, the smile frozen on her face. You’d planned to keep it a secret from Stella until you actually got the job partly because you didn’t want to get her hopes up but you should have known you couldn’t keep anything from Stella.
“You… you got it?”
You let out an audible laugh. “Yeah, I did.”
Stella let out a triumphant yell as she leaned over to give you a hug across the bar.
“You know once of these days the both of you need to give me a dictionary, or something.” Kelly said, which made the both of you laugh.
Stella laughed, glancing at you. “Fill him in while I go…” She pointed to the new customers that had come in.
You were in the midst of filling Kelly in about the new job when you heard a familiar voice, a voice that sent your heart pounding just a little quicker against your chest and the unmistakable flutter in your gut. “Y/N?”
You glanced back around you, knowing whose green eyes you’d be looking into before you saw him. “Hey, Jay.”
You’d met Jay Halstead during one of your earlier trips to Chicago when he’d joined Kelly at your table and although you’d hung out a few times, nothing had really happened between the two of you. Even so, there always seemed to be this invisible electric energy that felt like it was tugging you towards him.
“Didn’t know you were in town.” Jay smiled.
Kelly glanced up towards Stella who gave him a knowing smile back, giving him a small shake of her head. You barely heard Kelly excuse himself as Jay smiled. “So how long you going to be in town this time?” He asked, taking just half a step closer towards you.
You weren’t sure how much you wanted to let him know yet, so you just smiled and shrugged. “A while.”
“Does that mean I can catch you for a drink before you leave?” Jay asked, his green eyes sparkling a little.
You bit back a laugh and smiled back up at him. “You have my number.”
Tumblr media
It had been a hectic few weeks, and you knew you’d be glad once you finally got settled in Chicago.
With help you’d managed to find a cheap and decent apartment that wasn’t too far from work but your apartment still looked like a tornado had swept through it. The boxes didn’t even fit in corners anymore so they had spilled over to the middle of your living room.
You glanced at your watch. The trip to the office today had just been to handle some administrative stuff, but with that you were one step closer to a new beginning. It had taken a little longer than you’d initially thought but Stella and Kelly were on shift tonight anyway so you thought you might as well just grab some food and take the opportunity to at least try to make your apartment more livable.
You looked up and couldn’t help rolling your eyes at yourself when you noticed you’d made it all the way down to the basement carpark when your stupid ass had parked on the street just an hour earlier. You let out a low chuckle because you could already hear Stella’s voice in your head and turned back towards the elevator to head back up when you caught a familiar figure out of the corner of your eye. You turned back again, just to make sure you hadn't been wrong.
“Jay?”
Jay turned towards the sound of your voice, the serious look on his face giving way to a smile as he recognized you. “Hey. What are you doing here?”
You smiled without even meaning to, like some infectious effect that Jay had on you. “I had some stuff to handle here. You?”
Jay made a face. “Just checking out a lead. I…”
Jay didn’t finish his sentence before there was a sound that sounded way too much like a bomb, the noise piercing against your eardrums and shaking the ground you stood on.
Instinctively, Jay reached forward for you, steadying you. “You okay?” Jay asked, and you saw a worried look cross on his face for the first time as he glanced around.
“That wasn’t a…”
Jay shook his head. “I don’t know. Stay here.”
He leaned in towards his truck for his police radio, which crackled like it was about to get a signal, before little bits of concrete and sand crackled down against the both of you.
“We need to get out of here.” Jay said, glancing at you, his hand closing around yours as he moved. “If you see anyone, you call to them.”
You nodded, allowing Jay to lead you towards the way he’d driven in, until there was a sound of cracking concrete, with more sand and crumbling bits of concrete raining towards the both of you.
You glanced up. “Jay!”
Jay glanced up in time to see slabs of concrete come hurtling down towards the both of you.
Tumblr media
All units, Building Fire and Collapse.
Stella frowned as Mouch pulled up nearby. There were already PD cars at the other end of the street and she could vaguely hear the sounds of sirens meaning there were more trucks on their way.
Stella headed towards Chief, just half a step behind Kelly when she froze, her head turning back towards the street where there were a line of cars parked.
Kelly paused as well, turning back to glance at Stella. “Stella?”
Stella blinked once, the reality of it hitting her before she looked back at the building. The basement carpark was completely caved in and a fire had started on one of the higher floors.
Kelly glanced in the direction of where she’d just been looking and frowned. “Isn’t that…”
“She took the keys this morning. She had an errand to run… she…” Stella glanced back towards the building. “She’s in there.”
Kelly reached out and squeezed her hand. “If she’s in there, we’ll get her. Let’s get moving.”
Stella nodded before the both of them quickly headed over to where Chief was already barking orders.
Tumblr media
You opened your eyes gingerly, feeling a smarting pain from somewhere although you didn’t know exactly where.
“Y/N, you okay?”
Jay’s voice caught your attention and you blinked, coughing.
Jay had hurled the both of you out of the way just in time for you not be crushed to your death by the huge slab of concrete that now lay where you'd been standing just a minute ago.
“You okay?” Jay repeated.
You nodded, your head sweeping over to where the exit should have been. “We’re trapped, aren’t we?”
Jay glanced at his broken police radio by the side and nodded. “Yeah.”
He looked back at you and helped you back to your feet when a sharp pain shot up your leg.
“Y/N?” Jay froze, his eyes scanning you as he tried to work out what had happened. You shook your head.
“I think my ankle got a little busted. It’s nothing serious.”
Jay looked like he wanted to argue but also knew there was no point. “Alright, come on.” He glanced at your expression then quickly added. “Look, I’m sure Kelly and Stella are already outside trying to work their way in. Let’s just find somewhere safer to wait, alright? We need to get you off that foot.”
Jay stuck his hand out to you and you took it, feeling the warmth seeping right into you as he walked in step with you, using another hand to hold you steady.
It wasn’t really the time or place but you were acutely aware that this was the closest you’d been to Jay, at least physically.
Jay helped you back towards his truck, glancing up towards the ceiling, before opening the back door so you could perch yourself on the backseat, your legs dangling out of the open car door. “I’m gonna take one round around this place to see if anyone else is here or if there’s another way out, alright?”
You wanted to ask him to stay but it also kind of felt a little dumb so you just nodded.
Jay, however, seemed to catch on quickly and he leaned nearer just to squeeze your hand. “I’ll be quick.”
You smiled and nodded, watching as Jay jogged towards the other side of the carpark.
You turned your eyes away from his direction, looking back at the ground, counting mentally in your head which was a thing Stella had taught you when the both of you had been younger and you needed to get your mind off something.
You’d counted to about 30 when you heard a noise and your head snapped up, your eyebrows scrunching together as you spotted a guy trying to jimmy Jay’s truck from the passenger side.
You frowned, sliding off the seat, wincing as your feet touched the ground and your ankle protested. Even so, you figured it was better for you to be on your feet, just in case.
You’d barely steadied yourself against Jay’s truck when the guy came around the front of his truck, pausing when he saw you there.
“What are you doing?” His voice was accusatory and you felt the prick of annoyance that came with knowing he was trying to cover up that he was the shady one.
You exhaled loudly. “I should be asking you that.”
“I’m getting some stuff from my truck.”
You struggled to keep your face straight without rolling your eyes. “We can’t get out anyway. The concrete collapsed over the entrance. And I don’t think this is your truck.”
“Excuse me?” He asked, his tone telling you that you were headed into dangerous territory.
You didn’t answer him, just took an unsteady step backwards.
“Just stay out of my way.” He growled threateningly, taking a step closer to you.
Before your instinct could even get your body moving, Jay announced his return by sliding in between you and the stranger, reaching his hand behind for your wrist, his fingers closing protectively around it. “Do we have a problem here?”
The man in front of you faltered for the first time since he’d appeared in front of you, giving you the urge to roll your eyes once again. Honestly, if it wasn’t for your busted ankle, you might have been a little less cautious.
The guy cleared his throat. “If you keep your girl out of my business, we don’t.”
“Then get the hell away from my truck.” Jay snapped.
You glanced up at him, the tone surprising you, realizing you’d never actually seen this side of Jay.
As realization dawned over his face, the guy slinked away and Jay turned back to look at you. “You okay?”
You smiled back at him, nodding. “Better now.”
Jay smiled back, glancing down at your injured foot. “Alright, will you sit down please?” Jay said gently, guiding you back towards the back seat of the truck and helping you up again.
“Nothing, huh?” You asked, as Jay leaned his body against his truck facing you.
Jay just gave you a small smile. “There’s a few groups of people around. We’ll be out of here soon, alright?”
You nodded, pausing before you looked up at him again. “Not to be that person but… I’m kind of glad you’re here with me. I mean… not that I want you in this mess but…”
Jay reached out and patted your wrist gently with a smile, shaking his head gently. “I’m glad I’m here too.”
You glanced up in a little surprise and Jay smiled. “I mean it’s no drink but I’m glad the someone in here with you is me.”
You gave him a smile and Jay moved his hand just slightly to cover yours.
“I’m moving to Chicago.” You told him, allowing his hand to rest over yours even though you could feel your heartrate increase just a little more. “I came here to sign the documents and ended up in this mess. You don’t think that’s a…”
Jay quickly shook his head. “Not a sign at all.”
You were acutely aware that Jay had leaned in, acutely aware that your heads were very close together though you weren't sure when that had happened. Your head moved a little, a little nod that gave Jay the message he needed as he shifted.
And then a series of thuds broke their way into your consciousness, forcing both you and Jay to look away from each other.
Before you could say anything, a tremor felt like it was slightly rocking the underground carpark and you glanced back up at Jay, as more debris rained down towards you.
“Alright, come on, let’s move.” Jay whispered, helping you out. You glanced at him a little confused before he added, “Not really comfortable leaving you alone now. Let’s just check what’s going on alright?”
You nodded, allowing Jay to support you as you leaned against him and he watched your pace, guiding you to avoid the debris and concrete slabs that had crashed down during the first collapse.
Jay followed the dull sound that sounded like someone was hitting against something, turning the corner to find someone actually trying to hack their way through the walls with an axe.
“What the… Stay here.” Jay said and you nodded at him before he headed to the guy to try to stop him.
You wanted to roll your eyes. Any idiot would know that hacking though any wall without the knowledge people like Kelly and Stella had, was a recipe for disaster and yet here was an idiot doing it right in front of your eyes.
You could hear the vague sounds of Jay trying to drill the facts into the guy’s head - the more he hacked, the more dangerous it would be, but he didn’t seem to want to listen to Jay as he raved on about needing to be somewhere else. A few other people that were trapped together with you and Jay seemed to be converging nearer to the ruckus as well.
That’s when you heard it, almost like the sound of something cracking.
You glanced up, the beams above you looking unsteady, and you glanced back down at Jay who seemed to have noticed.
“Y/N, back up, alright?” Jay said, his eyes locking onto yours.
You nodded, but as you took a step backwards, the few other people who’d come to check out the ruckus had also gotten the message and were now clambering to try to get as far away as possible.
You felt someone push you before you stumbled, the pain from your ankle shooting up your leg once again as you fell towards the ground.
Damn it.
You turned your head upwards just as a beam came crashing down again. This time, all you heard was Jay’s raised voice.
“Y/N!”
Tumblr media
Kelly turned back from where he was working to glance at Chief. “Alright, we’re in.”
Chief nodded back at Kelly.
“Cruz, you up for this?” Kelly asked, glancing back at him.
Cruz nodded back at him. “Right behind you, Lieutenant.”
Kelly turned to give a small smile to Stella. “Be right back.” He assured her, heading inside.
Stella knew the drill. In a collapse like this, they couldn’t be sure how well this would hold or how many victims would be inside and with no line of communication, even sending Kelly and Cruz in was a stretch.
Kelly ducked his head, heading into the space they’d created. The basement was now littered with even more debris and concrete blocks but they maneuvered around them quickly.
“Fire Department!” Kelly hollered, as he spotted a group of people already heading towards him and Cruz. “Alright, follow him and he’ll get you out of here. Is anyone injured?”
Only one person responded. “I think there’s still two or three people over at the back. One of them seemed to already be injured.”
Kelly moved further in, nodding to Cruz to lead the rest out.
“Y/N! Are you in here?” Kelly hollered, moving further in before he heard another familiar voice.
“Kelly?”
Kelly frowned. “Jay?”
“In here!”
Kelly quickened his movements, heading towards the sound of Jay’s voice. There didn’t seem to be anyone else around and Kelly froze when he saw where Jay was.
Jay was kneeling next to you, one of your legs was stuck under a beam and you had a gash across your forehead but at least you were conscious.
Kelly didn’t miss the fact that Jay was holding your hand but turned towards you. “Hey, you with us?”
You smiled back up at Kelly. “I don’t… Please tell me you’re here to get us out.”
Kelly smiled and nodded. “Stella wouldn’t have it any other way.” He looked up at Jay. “Alright, come on, you think you can help me get this off her?”
Jay nodded, squeezing your hand again before he got up, helping Kelly to lift the beam to a better angle so that they could get you out from underneath.
Kelly reached for his radio. “I got her. Halstead’s in here too. Cruz, I need a backboard.”
“Copy.”
Jay headed back to you and squeezed your hand. “You’re going to be fine.”
“Thank you.” You whispered.
Jay gently swept your hair backwards without saying a word, as Cruz came in with the backboard and they lifted you on it so they could finally get you out of there.
Tumblr media
Honestly, you knew just as well as everyone else that you’d been lucky to escape with just a fracture and some shallow open wounds.
“Hey you.”
You glanced up to see your best friend smiling back at you, Kelly by her side and you smiled, pushing yourself up to a sitting position.
“God, Stella. You have to get me out of here. I’m literally withering away.” You complained and Stella chuckled.
“Listen, Y/N. I was talking to Kelly and we were thinking you could come back with us.” You frowned at her words and Stella quickly continued. “Just until you’re out of the cast.”
“Stel, that’s another few months. I have an apartment here, I’ll be fine.”
Stella narrowed her eyes back at you. “What, you mean the apartment with the thousand boxes lying around?”
You opened your mouth to argue and then closed it again because you knew she was right. “Look, I don’t want to put you guys out. I’ll be fine.”
Stella gave you a look. “I dare you to repeat that.”
You glanced at Kelly who waved a hand at you. "I wouldn't."
“Guys, you just got engaged, at least not that long ago. I seriously don’t want to…”
Kelly stepped forward now, putting an arm casually around Stella who was already perched at the edge of your bed. “We have an extra room at the loft anyway. And it’d be just until the cast is removed and you can move around on your own. If you have someone to come home with, maybe I can convince Jay’s brother to discharge you earlier.”
You glanced at him, not particularly liking the emphasis on Jay’s brother.
It was a losing battle and you knew it. “Fine.”
Kelly smiled, throwing a wink at Stella. “I’ll go find Will. You girls talk.”
As Kelly left the room, Stella turned back to you. “So, spill.”
You shrugged, knowing exactly what Stella was referring to. “I'm lucky he was in there. I don’t think I would have been as calm as I was without him. The first concrete alone might have killed me."
Stella gave you another look. “You know that’s not what I’m asking.”
You betrayed a small smile.
“We’ll see.”
Stella returned the smile, just as there was a knock at the door.
“Hope I’m not interrupting.”
Stella gave you a knowing smile, motioning for Jay to come in as she winked at you. “I’m going to check on Kelly, we’ll be back in a bit.”
You narrowed your eyes at her but Stella left the room anyway and you turned back to Jay.
“Just wanted to check in on you.” Jay smiled. “You doing okay?”
You nodded. “Thanks, Jay. Seriously. Not sure I could have survived if you hadn’t been there with me.”
Jay smiled, leaning in just a little closer. “I’m just glad you’re okay. Well, mostly okay.” His eyes flicked to your cast.
“Stella and Kelly insisted on me going to their place for a while, until the cast is off.” You made a face. “And I’ve never actually won an argument with Stella. At least not about things like this.”
Jay just smiled.
“So... maybe we can still catch that drink once you’re better. Since you’re staying.” Jay’s eyes twinkled back at you, the light back in his eyes now that you were all out of harm’s way.
You grinned. “A drink’s not gonna cut it anymore.” You paused as a look of confusion fluttered across Jay’s face. “But I’ll be up for dinner once I’m sorta back on my feet. If you don’t mind.”
“Dinner sounds great.” Jay said, the relief settling back into his usual smile.
You smiled. “After that whole fiasco, I’m all for the no regrets thing… so I think…”
Jay just leaned in and gently pressed his lips against yours. “Yeah, me too.” He whispered, as he lifted his lips from yours.
“You read my mind.” You answered, smiling back at him.

Quarantine Blues - Stellaride
Tumblr media
Fandom: One Chicago
Pairing: Kelly Severide & Stella Kidd
Note: The original plot was requested this is the slightly remastered version. (Repost)
•••
As the number of confirmed COVID cases in Chicago were increasing by day, the mayor issued a citywide lockdown effect of immediately. First responders were still going to work, but once Sylvie cane down with flu like symptoms she decided to get tested just incase and to everyone’s surprise it came back positive for COVID, therefore everyone on the second shift at 51 was in mandatory quarantine for 2 weeks.
Four days in, Stella and Kelly were already bored beyond belief. For two people who were barely home most of the time and actually craved some lazy days, they quickly realized it was not as fun as they thought when they were forced upon them.
“I talked to Brett, her fever is going down and she said she’s finally able to eat properly.” Stella said as she cuddled next to Kelly on the couch. “That’s good…everyone else seems to be doing fine.” He informed her skipping restlessly through channels and letting out an irritated scoff as he couldn’t find anything watch worthy. All this down time was pretty hard on him as he found it unusual at this time of the day to just lay on the couch instead of working out or just being out and about.
“Easy tiger you still have at least one more week time to get annoyed.” Stella laughed at him as he got up and started to pace around. She was also getting bored but it was funny to watch Kelly getting all worked up, it was like watching a hyperenergetic 5 year old stuck into an apartment and not being allowed on the playground.
“We need to find something to do, or else we’ll lose our minds…Maybe we can go out for a run and nobody will know.” Kelly was an outdoor person, so he was pretty sure he has never spent this much time inside. “You know the whole point of being on lockdown is to stay inside…right?” Giving her a blank look, Kelly half joked "At this point I'm willing to go for a run in a mask and a full hazmat suit".
In the first four days in quarantine they managed to keep themselves busy enough not to get bored, but there was only so much they could do inside. Binge watched all seasons of Sons of Anarchy, reorganized every single closet or drawer in the apartment, attempted to work out, took naps throughout they day and randomly called each person from 51 just to find out everyone was equally as bored and out of ideas when it came to extracurricular activities.
“We should’ve quarantined at the cabin…at least there we could’ve gone hiking and fishing and not a single person would be in sight.” He continued and Stella watched him amused as an idea ran through her mind.
“Remember when you insisted on teaching me how to properly barbecue like a pro?” Kelly nodded waiting to see where she was going with this “what if we order some groceries and I teach you how to bake?” Giving Stella an unsure look at first he ultimately agreed as there was nothing else to do anyway, making her jump into his arms excitingly.
Later that day once the groceries arrived and everything was set, Stella pulled out of nowhere a baking apron for Kelly. “You have to be kidding me…how long have you been waiting to do this?” He laughed putting it on.
“Been waiting for the perfect moment for you to even take my idea into consideration.” Stella said and started explaining everything step by step. She couldn’t help but feel very entertained by how serious and concentrated Kelly was trying to mix all the ingredients together and him constantly asking whether he was doing it right. While their muffins were baking in the oven he kept checking on them but once it was time to decorate it was a whole another story.
“Stella, I’m kicking down doors and restoring boats for a living, I can’t do this!” Kelly was frustrated as his topping cream was everywhere but on the muffin. “You need to stop squeezing it out so hard!” She exclaimed as she took his hand into hers guiding him. “Let me show you…see it’s not that hard mister kicking down doors and restoring boats .”
“Admit it...you had way too much fun watching me struggle.” Kelly said as they were finally taking a bite out of their baked goods. “I mean let’s just say I’ve never seen you getting this worked up, even over a rescue before.” Stella said wrapping her arms around Kelly’s neck and he immediately picked her up placing her on a small portion of the counter that wasn’t covered in flour.
“At least we’ll be busy tomorrow cleaning up this mess.” Kelly said looking around their kitchen as Stella pulled him into a deep kiss.

woke up from my nap to that interview from andrea😭😭😭😭😭😭 stellaride baby canon! GUYS! do you know how much content we can get? Stella finding out she’s pregnant, Kelly finding out Stella is pregnant, all the pregnancy related storylines (i’m thinking of Greys anatomy- imagine cranky Stella and Kelly has to calm her down/manage her moods), then birth, them being ACTUAL parents??? It’s too much for me, I am OVERHWHELMED AGHHHH! Season 12 is genuinely revolutionary! I cannot wait! I just hope (since I’m guessing the reveal is season finale) they don’t skip like too too much of the pregnancy because i’m almost as excited for that as for the actual baby! losing my shit

A Summary
↬ Title: 𝑶'𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏
Chicago was just one more violent town of the country, being born and raised there with parents and friends working directly as first responders can create some sort of shield, but it's never gonna be enough.
Police, firefighters, doctors, paramedics and so many other titles have a responsibility to ensure the safety of all citizens, but even when they return home for their children, they just can't put down their badges and uniforms, and they are learning that on the hardest way.

i want it so bad but i know it won’t happen 😭

Are you all caught up on the OC finales? What did you think?
I caught up today! I thought they were fine to really good!!
Med was really solid. Surprising no one I'm absolutely heartbroken that Will is leaving but I'm glad he went out in typical Will fashion, had a really nice scene with Sharon at the end, and we got Manstead endgame. Liliana and Dr Charles are back together! They're so flipping cute, I love that for them. Dasher are doing Dasher things, I had to LOL when Hannah was like HARD NO about dating Archer and he was so offended. I think Med's gonna return to somewhat normal next season, probs the first half will be dealing with whoever buys the hospital and convincing them to turn it not-for-profit again. The only question marks for me are whether Maggie and Dr Song stay. I think if they continue to do O.R 2.0 things, Dr Song will, and I think they've left it a bit open for Maggie depending on Marlynne's health and what she decides. I was a little surprised they didn't address it more in the finale about the possibility of her leaving since the episode before made it feel like much more of a sure thing. A solid episode!
Fire was... kinda meh if I'm being honest. Like it's not unusual for me to multi-task while I'm watching tv, but I still pay attention to what's happening with the plot, but I was dicking around on my phone while watching Fire and kept realising that I was fully not paying attention to what was going on and kept having to go back and rewatch. Like, it just felt like lots of talking ha ha. I think where we go from here is super dependent on whether Taylor comes back next season or not. Feels like they're setting up Carver and Violet, which I'm not against, but haven't fully let go of Carver in his feels over Stella either, so if T.K doesn't come back and Stellaride break up (BIG IF NO ONE THROW TOMATOES) they might continue to pursue that as well. I'm more and more on the Stella/Carver train (NO ONE HATE ME) so I'm super fine with those angsty looks he's sending her lmao. Super here for the little friendship between Kylie and Ritter and very keen for Kylie to become the new candidate (that has to be where this is going). Sylvie's adopting the baby, yay for her I guess, I mean, like I said in another ask, I'm pretty sure I know this is heading for a Kara exit, which I'm not opposed to, so I'm just very.... okay? about this storyline. It feels rushed, but it's fine, and I get a Brettsey endgame (probably) so fine. And Mouch... maybe I'm stupidly optimistic but I don't think he's dying. I think Christian is leaving the show, but I don't think Mouch is dying. Idek why tbh. It's a bit anticlimatic if he does die tbh. Like he didn't even get shot, it was a random piece of shrapnel. Idk, I think he'll probs survive and then retire. Maybe I don't think they'll kill him because it would mean that PD also has to change Trudy's characterisation over on that show. Like imagine her husband dies and they never even mention it on PD 💀💀💀
PD was the best episode imo. The pacing and writing was great, even though I'd seen bits and pieces of it already online I still felt drawn in by it and I really felt the tension. I felt like Adam, Kim, and Kevin all got to shine. Hailey and Voight not so much, sad for Hailey, get fucked Voight. Absolute snaps for Kevin getting to shoot that racist mother fucker, and I know he's just a kid but lmao fuck Callum. Fuck his mum too and I hope she goes down for some of this shit. One of my only question marks is why Torres wasn't in the ep? I can't tell if it's a weird writing choice to keep leaving him out of episodes or if the actor has some sort of other commitment keeping him from being in every episode, but I feel like they either need to commit to his character being part of the team, or drop him and bring someone who will be around all the time. Burzek slayed as always, inject that moment of Kim on the phone and absolutely sprinting to get to Adam into his veins. Kim in the ambulance, and at the hospital, "Are you his partner", "You're with Adam" "I'm with Adam" yeah girl you tell that bitch. You ARE with Adam. I mean, as with every other Burzek shipper I'm annoyed that they clearly filmed a Burzek scene at the hospital and then cut it. I hope they release it as a deleted scene at some point bc I need it. I've seen the theory that they cut it because it shows Adam's alright and Paddy might leave the show.... I mean.... maybe? I doubt it. It's more likely they cut it bc the show has a hard on for Hank Voight and wanted to end on him. I think it would have been a better ending to end with Burzek because it would have been a really full circle, cyclical ending from where they started the season, and the episode, but, what can you do? I'm sure someone will write the fic. Still, despite all that, a really great episode and end to this arc.
Sorry, this got long but yeah, those are my thoughts. Med 6/10, Fire 4/10, PD 8/10.

I just wanted to say I saw your post about LiSM and a bad comment but please trust and believe you should NOT let this get to you.
Nothing justifies a negative comment on your work and I'm sure it's disheartening but I PROMISE there is an audience for this fic. I was devastated by JS leaving and what it would mean for Brettsey but I love imagining this world where they are making it work and getting to see those trials and tribulations which you write so beautifully! It's the nuance that show can't give us due to timing and just JS not being around but you've turned that into an incredible fic that is entirely plausible and romantic as hell. There are so many opportunities for the Brettsiest of moments we'll never get on the show but we are so lucky to get in your fic instead!
I can't say I know what its like to be on the other end of it but I just wanted to say as a reader, truly, I've enjoyed this fic just as much as your season 8/9 fics or Cruel Something. As long as I get Brettsey together in any way, shape or form, I'm good! Anyways, this is all to say, write what makes YOU happy and trust there are readers for it, I certainly am one of them!! 🌟💛
HOW DID I MISS THIS? I feel SO INCREDIBLY BAD.
Your encouragement on LiSM makes me so emotional still! I really felt passionate about that fic. It was a labor of love during a time in my life where my comfort show was no longer a comfort. I needed to imagine Brettsey would get through it even if the show tries to make me believe otherwise. I am so glad other people enjoyed it and felt it was in character and cathartic.
My favorite thing about fanfic is being able to write the little moments that make a ship feel real. The domesticity Tv shows can rarely give us due to the formula or make up of the show is such lovely fodder for fanfic. The white space is my favorite space, lol.
LiSM had complicated timing fandom wise. A lot of people didn’t want to think about Kara exiting or Jesse never coming back but then some people like myself really wanted to live in a world where Sylvie wouldn’t have to choose between a career she loved and the man she loved. I wanted so badly to help her find a path that gave her everything she wanted.
I still hope the show does that for her. Whether she goes to Portland or Matt moves back to Chicago, or they go somewhere else all together, I hope she gets to be head over heels for her man, a mom to Julia, and a badass leader of medics for happily ever after.
It’s what she wants so, as Matt says, that’s exactly what she deserves.
And thank you so much for reading my fics and stopping by the askbox to offer me some encouraging words! It means the WORLD to me. The fact that you love LiSM as much as my works from the PEAK Brettsey era is extremely moving to me.
And omg you mentioned Cruel Sometimes. The way that fic became one of my personal ALL TIME faves to write shocked me, to be honest. It was supposed to be a quick Sylvie-in-Danger whump and then ended up becoming this exploration of the Brettsey-Darden family and the Brettsey-Stellaride friendships along with an HEA for Brettsey. It was a surprise to me as I plotted it out but I am incredibly proud of the outcome.
And thank you 🥹 you’re right. I should just write what makes me happy. If it makes me happy, hopefully it makes other people happy too.
Gosh, this was such a beautiful surprise to find in my messages even if I feel INCREDIBLY guilty for letting it sit for FAR TOO LONG.
