keep an open mind

“Keep an open mind.” We are always asked to keep an open mind, whether it is for work, studies, life etc…. We all think that keeping an open mind will prevent us from making common mistakes, but from what I have learned so far is that keeping an open mind will lead you to missteps. Now; these missteps will lead to the path you originally aimed for. Whether this path is the right path, it is on you to decide, however understanding that our actions lead us to certain conclusions is the mentality we need in order to have an open mind in a healthy way. As I am writing this specific piece I keep looking back at the times, I didn’t keep an open mind and how my choices made me miserable, they didn’t lead me to missteps no it was quite the opposite they led me to the goal I aimed for but I wasn’t happy. I thought I had made it, but this accomplishment gave me no satisfaction. Then when I considered the situations where I kept an open mind and looked at every situation in different aspects, I understood nothing is as easy as it seems to be. Yet we always need to keep an open mind and a peaceful soul.

Mindfulness in a time of indifference

This past year has taught us a lot. From the importance of health to relationships. While some of us have lost a lot, we did learn a lot too.

As things have become more and more challenging for some we have seen the emergence of something called “mindfulness”. Many swears by it, to have changed their perspective of life and things beyond the material world. The importance of mental health has been declared paramount.

By definition, mindfulness may seem saintly and a little impossible for a generation for whom 15sec videos and quick swipes decides our likes, future, etc. But are we really so lost that we are unable to connect with our inner self?

Let’s try and take small baby steps towards a world of acceptance. Where meditation is not said in the same sentence with “snake charming” or the “sitar music”, where mental health is not mocked. We can do this together. Cause in the end, in all our loneliness we are somewhere connected.

The CDC is beyond crazy. I already didn't trust these loons before, but now I really gotta dodge everyone? I thought I could trust those who wore theirs and had it over their nose. Now no one is wearing one! Who thought this was a brilliant idea? Tell everyone to stop wearing masks and how you gonna tell who is vaccinated or not?! Ignorant. I am Soo glad I'm fully vaccinated, but no one cares about everyone else. I will continue to wear my mask and avoid these crazies.
