just found out about this “fashion modeling” category at starpower. i am so intrigued. have you ever seen a routine in this category? why is there a swimsuit competition?
Ive never heard of that category or seen a routine in it. I used to be obsessed with toddlers and tiaras growing up but as an adult I find it weird to judge kids in bikinis for how they look? like with dance you are watching a sport and a skill. a real talent.

Superstar EU Top Laner, Bwipo, Will Focus on Content Creation in 2023
Tumblr media
League of Legends top laner Bwipo has announced that he won't be playing in the 2023 Spring Split after a dismal season with Team Liquid. The 23-year-old veteran broke the news while streaming, and said that during the regular season, he’ll be working as a content creator for Liquid. He’ll be streaming his solo queue and Champion’s Queue matches as he prepares to join a team in the following summer. Bwipo quickly said that he “didn’t stand out enough” to make a starting roster, and that he’ll need to play better moving forward if he wants to get back to competitive play. LCS fans are familiar with how lackluster Liquid’s year was, especially with the amount of talent the organization was able to band together for 2022. During last year’s offseason, the perennial LCS champions made headlines when they signed Bwipo, Bjergsen, and Hans Sama along with Santorin and CoreJJ to create a formidable superteam that looked, on paper, to be the most stacked lineup in the league. The sheer experience and firepower on the roster was hard to bet against, with multiple LEC and LCS championships, All-Pro awards, and Worlds appearances within the lineup. The team and its fans quickly realized, however, that even though there was plenty of starpower, the lack of cohesion between the members was too great a hurdle to jump over. By the end of 2022, Liquid failed to qualify for any international tournaments and hadn’t even managed to reach the Finals in either split. On an individual level, Bwipo had an impressive season stat-wise, but couldn’t carry his team enough to make a lasting impression. He led all top laners with 66 kills this Summer Split, with the most damage and the highest total share of his team’s total kills, according to League stats aggregate Oracle’s Elixir. In the meantime, Liquid has been linked to former Cloud9 top laner Summit as a replacement for the Belgian star, as the organization attempts to stand up after stumbling so far with such high expectations on their shoulders. ok. samwell college of music au. i wrote all four years let's go babey
eric bittle is this lovely southern tenor (sounds kinda like mitch grassi or ben j pierce) who posts covers (& sometimes originals, but always with neutral or no pronouns because he can't post anything that says he or him ☹) on his youtube channel and has major stage fright but is very talented; he also plays ukulele
he got into samwell college of music on a voice scholarship and his dad doesn’t exactly approve but eric was never the 6′2″ masculine football player he wanted anyway so why not go for his dreams
he auditions for the very competitive samwell men’s contemporary chorus (there’s like 20 choirs; chamber choir, jazz choir, a cappella groups (lax bros do a cappella), combined choirs, etc- smcc does contemporary pop/rock music) and while he’s very very nervous and shaky as he auditions, directors hall & murray see a lot of potential in him (with major grumbling from student director jack)
(the rest of this ridiculously long au under the cut)
the group is small, for a chorus, because the point of the group is not a wall of sound but a focus on all of the very talented guys’ voices coming together in these gorgeous harmonies and basically they’re like one of the best choruses on campus and all the male singers want in
so there’s jack zimmermann, who of course eric knows because everyone knows who he is, he’s the son of bob and alicia zimmermann, both incredibly talented and famous musicians, and basically those genes were in his favor because he’s mega fucking talented
(jack was supposed to sign a recording contract to be in a band with his best friend kent parson when he was 17 but something happened between them and the pressure was too much and jack overdosed on something- there’s so many rumors no one knows what’s real- and kent signed solo in LA & went on to win grammys for his albums about a mysterious ex and jack disappeared for a few years to be a counselor at a music camp and reappears at samwell, knocking everyone’s socks off again like he’d never left, except with a renewed vigor and intenseness that freaks everyone out)
jack is a contemporary writing & production major, freaky talented and sings like a modern day frank sinatra, and he plays like 20 instruments and can read music like breathing air and writes songs like if he stopped he’d die; his music is folksy and mournful and he plays all the instruments on his tracks himself- guitar, piano, strings, drums- it sounds like a full band but nope. just jack. he’s intense
“we all get nicknames in this choir,” justin informs eric on his first day, “we’re those kinda guys.” so he’s bitty, which he finds vaguely offensive (bc he’s not that short!) but still cute, & the rest of the group is introduced to him:
“shitty” knight (voice like colyer) is a musical education major and an enigma of a singer with this awesome, earthy, raspy voice that’s really interesting to listen to and a very.... unique style & look; he writes cheesy but shockingly good raps about social justice topics and he will sing-lecture you if you’ve said something offensive (he also plays banjo)
justin “ransom” oluransi is a music business & management major with an angelic voice you can’t help but listen to; he’s sultry and has an incredible range and does runs like nobody’s business (with a voice like daniel caesar or leslie odom jr UGH)
adam “holster” birkholtz is a voice performance major, wants to be on broadway and it’s all he ever goddamn talks about basically, he’s a belter and has a lot of charisma and starpower and he’ll charm the pants off of you within one note; can also play piano and irritates everyone constantly because his regular volume is like a level 11 (voice like the frontman of my brothers and i combined w/ x ambassadors lead singer)
larissa “lardo” duan is at the local art institute because performing arts is not her jam and she’d much rather paint; she’s a barista at annie’s and supervises open mic nights and keeps the annoying choir dudes from driving away all her patrons
“i’m not even in your dumbass choir,” she says when the group gave her her nickname. holster just told her that she was an honorary member and then started sing-shouting a song at her about how good she is
bitty’s first year is hard because he’s talented and he works hard but he shies away when anyone asks him to sing outside the group and like, he can sing to a camera by himself but being on a stage with everyone looking at you and the sole responsibility of the song on your shoulders is terrifying and no thanks
jack does not. understand this. he’s been performing practically since he came out of the womb and he doesn’t really get performance nerves (what he gets is anxiety about how he did after he gets off stage that follows him home and makes it so he can’t sleep) - so he bothers bitty about it constantly like “you just need practice, you just have to sing by yourself a lot and then you’ll get over it” which like.... that’s true but it’s also hella scary and bitty’s like “no thanks!!!!”
but jack’s annoying and intense so he makes bitty do open mic with him every saturday night and it’s going okay and bitty loves his choir and loves his school and these new friends he’s making and he finally feels comfortable enough to come out to them during his second term
then during their spring choral showcase at the end of his freshman year bitty has a solo and he’s worked really hard on it and he’s feeling good- okay he’s completely freaked out but he’s trying to feel good- but when he gets up on stage there’s so many people and the stage lights are so hot on his face and he flips out a little and maybe he passes out from anxiety and stress right on stage and it’s terrible and he’s so embarrassed and ashamed that he ruined their set at the showcase
of course jack blames himself because “we shouldn’t have given you a solo before you were ready, i misjudged it, i’m sorry” - and they all feel kinda bad bc holy fuck they didn’t know his stage fright was that bad like they didn’t know someone could pass out just by being anxious to sing
he practices all the time over the summer and goes to his local open mic at jack’s insistence and it actually helps a lot because instead of a sea of strangers judging him it’s a bunch of people he knows and they’re all smiling at him and when he finishes his song they cheer for him and it boosts his self-confidence a lot
his sophomore year they have three new members- chris ”chowder” chow (voice like ieuan), an excitable music education major with impressive rapping skills, derek "nursey" nurse (frank ocean or leon bridges type), a songwriting major who can also play violin and guitar, and will ”dex” poindexter (like tom west), a production & engineering major who tried out with chowder bc he needed moral support and didn't expect to get in but impressed the directors with his voice
the year’s going pretty good, bitty’s still pretty scared of singing alone but more confident now and the open mic nights with jack haven’t stopped, so he’s getting better. and one night they’re hanging out at annie’s after closing waiting for lardo to be done so they can walk her home, and bitty suggests that jack sing with him one of these nights, and jack says he doesn’t know any of bitty’s songs and bitty says they can write one together half jokingly but then jack is like “yes.” with that Intense Look
SO they get together a couple days later in jack’s room at the house they all live in together (bitty moved in at the beginning of the year after previous smcc member john johnson called him- how’d he get his number?- and told him he could take his room if he wanted), jack with his guitar and bitty with his ukulele, and it’s a little awkward until bitty says jack should play him one of his songs
and, okay, he doesn’t really know what to expect because the only music jack ever released to the public was that one single he did with kent parson when they were 17 so bitty doesn’t even know if he has anything to play him, but he does- he starts playing these soft, sad notes on the guitar and opens his mouth and sings about being lonely and scared and unsure, about false starts and shaky ground and not knowing where you stand with someone, about expectations and lying awake at night and wishing so hard you were someone else, and bitty watches him sing and just kind of... realizes he’s head over heels for this boy and internally Freaks Out a little
he tries to put that aside and they start to write this song, at first it’s weird because jack’s like “all your songs are love songs i can’t really relate to happy love songs” and bitty’s like “listen... i’ve never even had a boyfriend i just write a bunch of sappy love stuff because it’s not about me it’s about whoever’s listening to it, they’re gonna project their own experiences on my music anyway so it doesn’t matter if it’s my real life or not” and jack’s like “alright while fake af that’s smart and i respect you” (what bitty doesn't say is that he writes about what he really wants which is to fall in love & be in a happy relationship)
they say they’re just gonna write this kinda vague sad song but they both secretly write lines about their actual lives so it ends up being really personal and real and raw for the both of them
they sing the song at open mic that saturday and the crowd at annie’s is never that big but they’ve never got a standing ovation here before, and some girl shouts “MAKE AN ALBUM” (it may or may not be lardo) and they both blush furiously and bitty’s like “... that was really nice, jack” and jack’s like “... yeah it was good good job you’re really getting some confidence out there nice work” (bitty: “THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT AAAAH”)
around this time jack’s really thinking about what he’s gonna do when he’s done at samwell, talking with his parents and his agent and looking into different record companies and deciding if he wants to sign with anyone or possibly start his own company- the head of a small company called falcon records in rhode island has been talking to him a lot, and jack talks to bitty about how he thinks it’d be nice to start small, and the record exec georgia and the producer marty had both been really nice and welcoming, and bitty’s so happy for him but also just... sad that he won’t be around jack every day after he graduates
THEN at a haus party celebrating their win of a local choral competition, who shows up but none other than pop star kent parson to Ruin The Fun
bitty sees the way jack pales when kent walks in, notices them disappear upstairs together and feels a little sick worrying about jack but chalks it up to the highly alcoholic concoction shitty and lardo had cooked up but nonetheless decides he’s sick of the party and goes up to his room and hears.... a little too much
and YIKES he’s standing right there and kent parson, pop star, two-time grammy winner, is looking a little rumpled and staring right at him and he puts his hat on and clears his throat and snaps at jack- “hey. well. call me if you reconsider. but good luck with rhode island. ...i’m sure that’ll make your parents proud.” and jack’s shaking, and bitty doesn’t know what to do but jack goes back into his room and bitty’s just kind of standing there like What The Fuck
so.... he kind of stews over winter break but tries not to think about it too much and he and jack text a bit and jack tells him to practice and bitty’s like “oh, you” and jack’s like “im serious” and bitty’s like “>:( it’s christmas”
spring semester starts and they're doing well in competitions and they go to semifinals and then finals for a prestigious collegiate choir competition and the pressure is mounting but they all are so optimistic and really feel like they're on the same page and bitty’s confidence is better than ever and then.... they don't win
jack especially takes it very hard, but then he also has signing to worry about, which everyone helps him with and he decides to sign with falcon records and start work on an album after graduation
speaking of graduation, shitty and jack graduate and it's hard for them but harder for bitty who feels like he's losing jack in a way, he knows how intense jack gets when he's making music and it doesn't feel like he'll have any time for bitty anymore so when they say goodbye bitty goes back to the haus and listens to his and jack's song and just cries
but, like in canon, dadbob has words of wisdom to impart and jack has an "oh" moment and races across campus to kiss bitty
they get together and the next few months are spent with jack working nonstop on his album (which tbh, he'd had many of the songs written already so it's mostly recording and producing) and texting bitty constantly and coming to visit him and playing him demos of all the songs
jack also asks bitty if they can record the song they wrote together & have it as a bonus track on his album & bitty says of course, so when jack visits they set up an impromptu studio and record vocals in the guest bedroom and this deeply personal song they wrote before they were ever together means so much more to them now
and bitty is so happy but so scared and sad too because jack is playing him these songs telling him "they're all for you bits, & a lot of them are about you" and he just doesn't know how he's going to keep all this love inside even though it feels like jack's career is at stake
he tries to shove it down and stay strong though, especially since he's now an upperclassman and they're taking on new members- connor "whiskey" whisk (voice like finneas or the male singer in valley), a music business/ management major who seems to hate bitty's guts and tony "tango" tangredi (like chaz cardigan), a jazz composition major who astounds everybody with his endless questions but also his ridiculously impressive composition skills & naturally perfect pitch (he can also play saxophone??)
i want ford in this au so fuck it she is a composition major with dreams to write scores for musicals and she stars training as a barista at annie's (aka training to corral the smcc)
the pressure of it all proves to be a lot and bitty and jack have their hi, honey moment where bitty's like i can't be this deep in the closet!!! and so they tell the smcc and also jack's label that they're together and that eases things a bit
jack's album comes out to much critical acclaim and shouting in the groupchat ("#1 ON ITUNES BRAHHHHH!!!!!!!!") and several months later, when smcc has already been eliminated from choral competition in an earlier round, jack is nominated for SEVERAL grammys including best album, song of the year, and best new artist
when the time comes he takes his parents and bitty on the red carpet which, everyone keeps being like "who are you here with jack?" and he's like "my family and my good friend :)" and yes it is awkward
jack wins... all three awards. it's the comeback everyone is stoked to see and when his third win is announced, he and bitty are so elated that they kiss before he goes to accept the award
his speech is basically just "um... wow. thank you. i just kissed my boyfriend on live tv. this is amazing and i'm so humbled. i'd like to thank my boyfriend and georgia and marty and my parents and my friends and my boyfriend"
obviously the press has a FIELD DAY with this but bitty & jack are honestly vibing and so happy that it doesn't matter untiiiillll bitty's mom calls and he has to tell her "mama i'm gay and i'm going on tour with jack this summer okloveyoubye"
the last few months of bitty's junior year pass quickly and he's voted student director which is a huge honor considering how much he struggled with stage fright and confidence & how he'll now be stepping into ransom & holster's shoes
r&h and lardo all graduate (the smcc basically crashes the art school graduation and all scream when lardo gets her diploma lmao), which is a bittersweet occasion and they all do a bit of tearing up
that summer bitty goes on tour across the u.s. & canada with jack and his touring band (snowy is a bassist, tater is a drummer and poots does backing guitar, he also brings nursey to play violin on a few songs) as well as georgia who's there to manage logistics
and tour is so fun & chaotic with many bi and rainbow flags in the audience that end up thrown on stage and draped around jack's neck and they spend so many nights in the bus drinking and laughing and fooling around on the guitars and bitty's uke and exploring new cities bitty has never been to before and it's the freest bitty has felt in a long time
summer ends though, and jack leaves for the uk/europe leg of the tour, and with the new school year brings a few new members- river "bully" bullard (voice like gregory alan isakov), a music therapy major who draws his own cover art for his songs, lukas "louis" landmann (like jr jr), an electronic production and design major with a penchant for EDM, and johnathan "hops" hopper (like keiynan lonsdale), a film scoring major who wants to write music for movies and video games
bitty meets and befriends some of the other student directors- shruti, sd of the women’s contemporary chorus; sharon, sd of the chamber choir; and edgar, sd of jazz ensemble (even chad l., sd of the all-male a cappella group)
senior year passes similarly to the comic; coach visits and sees one of bitty’s competitions, jack comes to madison for christmas, smcc does well in competition and goes to regionals etc
however… bitty keeps putting off and putting off gathering the songs for his senior recital
he has a hard time doing that because he’s so focused on the group and making sure they’re performing well and as they advance in competition, everything else starts to fall away
eventually the rest of the smcc has to lock away his uke and change his youtube password and FORCE him to choose songs for it and start preparing because he cannot graduate without doing this recital and doing well on it
he chooses (of course) a beyonce song, a few of his own songs, an ellie goulding song, and an adele song
with all that his breath hitches and his hands shake before he goes on stage, he does really well and his voice instructor prof atley tears up a little in the audience as does his mom
meanwhile smcc goes to semifinals, then finals, of the national collegiate choral competition they participate in
and i imagine bitty faces somewhat less homophobia in this au because i mean, he’s in the performing arts, but i think it’s still there and he also faces a good amount of classism from richer students and performers who think they’re better because they had the resources and money to be performing professionally from a very young age, and he has been practicing via filming himself on a shitty camcorder and posting it to youtube
but they still get there! and the national finals are fucking HUGE and a big deal and a little overwhelming
bitty’s stage fright is Present because this is the biggest stage and the biggest stakes he's ever had and he has a big solo in one of their songs so if he fucks up, he fucks up a national championship for his whole group and school
luckily though, when he steps on the stage with his best friends and sees his boyfriend and family and smcc alums in the audience and they perform their first song, a high-energy pop medley that always gets the crowd going, everything seems to melt away and it's just him living in this moment and singing his heart out
when it gets to the next song and his solo, he forgets to be nervous and belts it out, getting screams of approval from the audience when he finishes
(dex and nursey do have a duet together that they had to practice for many long nights in the practice rooms alone but that's neither here nor there)
their time on stage seems to last both hours and no time at all and then they're done, the crowd gives them a standing ovation and it's at least 30% r&h & shitty's hooting and hollering and jack's enthusiastic clapping that makes bitty & the others beam with pride
then it's just waiting, giddy and nervous beyond belief in their green room, for the judging to be over
after what feels like forever they're back on stage, arms linked together waiting and hoping for their name to be called and it is, they win and it feels like years have built up to this moment, and bitty tears up because years ago when he was fainting from anxiety at having to perform in front of people he never could've imagined that he'd do this, that he'd be the student director that led them to a championship
they get the trophy and a ridiculous amount of flowers from their loved ones and they all are just in giddy disbelief that this is happening, they're national champs!!! they are the best choir boys in the nation!!
they come home and the rest of the school year passes by so quickly that it's very suddenly graduation and bitty can't believe his college career at samwell is over 😢
(he and ollie and wicky take pictures together, o&w talk about how excited they are to devote full time attention to their band & wedding planning and bitty's just like wait you're gay??)
bitty got plenty of offers from record companies but he likes his freedom of creativity and he has a built in fanbase from doing youtube all these years so he decides to make an album independently (jack helps him produce & master it 🥰)
when bitty's album comes out about a year later, full of bops about being gay and in love and having struggled but come out the other side more confident than ever, it doesn't get any grammy nominations- and he didn't expect or need that.
what it does do is it resonates. it makes the rounds in youtube and queer internet circles; people his age reach out to him saying this is the music they wish they had as a kid and kids reach out to him saying he's a role model and they're so glad to have his music to listen to. his album is written about as an underrated gem that shines with queer brilliance and is sure to start a party when it comes on.
his parents may not fully understand the road he's chosen for himself but they're still so proud and promote the album as hard as any of his loyal fans (especially the one country-inspired song on the album that he wrote and dedicated to them).
and jack, jack who saw this album from its infancy to its release date, who took the film photo that ended up being the album cover, who worked with bitty to make sure his vision was realized exactly how he wanted it to be, is proud beyond words.
jack starts using his semi-abandoned twitter again to tweet "stream [album name]" every day and bitty retweets them sometimes, with just a "this boy. ❤"
and they're happy. they're good. they have come so far and they are reaping the rewards of all the hard work they put in to make the music that they truly love.
the end :)

Vlogger Joe Sugg Reportedly Tapped For U.K.’s Answer To ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Tumblr media
YouTube star Joe Sugg, who is also a noted graphic novelist and talent management company proprietor, has reportedly signed on to the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing — a U.K. reality competition series in the vein of ABC‘s Dancing With The Stars.
In the hit BBC One show, celebrities are partnered with professional ballroom dancers, and compete via themed performances week to week, which are scored by a panel of expert judges. Metro speculates that the series could stand to gain some serious social starpower if Sugg does indeed opt to compete, given that several of his YouTube-famous friends and family members would presumably attend live tapings, including sister Zoe Sugg and best friend-slash-business partner Caspar Lee.
Strictly has not confirmed casting for its sixteenth season, although other rumored participants include Olympic diver Tom Daley and Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts, per Metro. The series will start filming at the end of the month.
Sugg isn’t the first YouTube star to parlay his massive digital success — to the tune of roughly 14 million subscribers across three channels — onto linear television. Deyes and Lee appeared in another popular U.K. reality series called Release The Hounds in 2016, while mukbang queen Trisha Paytas ventured across the pond last year for Celebrity Big Brother. In the states, the 28th season of The Amazing Race was dedicated entirely to digital creators, with a cast featuring social luminaries Tyler Oakley and Burnie Burns.

2020 WNBA mock draft: Great picks remain after Sabrina Ionescu
Tumblr media
We know Ionescu is going to go No. 1. Who comes next?
The 2020 WNBA Draft won’t happen in-person, but will be held virtually on April 17 due to the spread of Covid-19. ESPN will showcase the entirely online draft at 7 p.m. ET. The No. 1 pick is going to be Oregon and NCAA legend Sabrina Ionescu. Who follows the Ducks star isn’t as clear.
The 2020 WNBA season is on pause for now, and there is a chance those drafted won’t get to suit up until 2021. The league’s originally scheduled training camp on April 26 and season tip-off on May 15 have been postponed. We’re waiting on a decision for the future, but the draft has to go on if the season has hopes of being saved.
This year is an especially important one for women’s basketball. The 2020 season would be the first under the league’s and players association’s new collective bargaining agreement. Year-to-year, player salaries for the league’s elites have nearly doubled, the minimum pay scale increased, flight arrangements have improved, and revenue-sharing has the potential to reach a 50-50 split, just like the NBA. This is supposed to be year one of a long-term investment, and there’s starpower from this rookie class to drive it.
Here’s a mock draft of what April 17’s draft may look like:
1. New York Liberty - Sabrina Ionescu, PG, Oregon
What she does: The top pick in the draft is going to be Ionescu, Oregon’s do-it-all point guard who set an all-time NCAA record with 26 triple-doubles, and became the only NCAA player ever to record 3,000 career points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds. Ionescu can shoot from range (42 percent), create for others (eight assists per game), rebound (seven per game) and score (18 points per game.) She’s as close to a lock as one can get to be a star one day, if not right away. There are concerns about how well she can defend quicker point guards, but that criticism pales in comparison to the many pros that stack her resume.
How she’d fit with the Liberty: New York has a lot of young talent in Asia Durr, Kia Nurse, and Marine Johannes. Ionescu could be the superstar who unlocks their full potential while reaching her own.
2. Dallas Wings - Satou Sabally, F, Oregon
What she does: Sabally could’ve been the No. 1 pick in most other drafts. She won’t be this year because Ionescu is that good and plays a position so many teams need, but Sabally is no consolation prize. For her three-year career, she averaged 15 points on 39 percent three-point shooting, six rebounds and two assists. At 6’4, she’s a versatile wing who can ball-handle, find a cutter and protect the rim as a small-ball big.
How she’d fit with the Wings: In Dallas, Sabally should be prioritized, along with Arike Ogunbowale, as the heirs to Skylar Diggins-Smith’s throne. Sabally should get the second-most offensive touches behind Ogunbowale.
3. Indiana Fever - Lauren Cox, C, Baylor
What she does: Cox is a 6’4 defensive-minded big who averaged three blocks and a steal this season for Baylor. For her career, she averaged 12 points and eight rebounds with three-point potential, making 28-of-91 career attempts.
How she’d fit with the Fever: Cox won a championship last year next to 6’6 big Kalani Brown, and she’s used to running a high-low as a smaller big. She could do that again with 6’6 center Teaira McCowan for a rebuilding Indiana team that’s just a few pieces away from being playoff-competitive.
4. Atlanta Dream - Chennedy Carter, G, Texas A&M
What she does: Carter is a shot-taker with one of the quickest triggers in the game. She isn’t incredibly efficient, coming off a season where she averaged 21 points on 45 percent shooting including just 29 percent from distance, but Carter can create off-the-bounce. That skill is hard to come by and possible to improve once it exists.
How she’d fit with the Dream: Atlanta has a whole new cast including Courtney Williams, Shekinna Stricklen, Glory Johnson and Brown. Carter would likely come off the bench to start the year as Sixth Woman-type flamethrower.
5. Dallas Wings - Megan Walker, F, Connecticut
What she does: It was surprising that Walker left with a year of eligibility remaining at UConn, but she’s coming off the best season of her career. The 6’1 forward scored 20 points per game on 48 percent shooting (45 percent on five three-point attempts per game), with nine rebounds and three assists. She’s a floor-spacer who also ticked her assist numbers up to three per game this year.
How she’d fit with the Wings: Dallas won’t be a playoff contender this year with several rookie-scale contract players playing major minutes. It’ll play the weed-out game of who does and doesn’t fit, and Walker would get minutes to prove her place, but they won’t come easy.
6. Minnesota Lynx - Crystal Dangerfield, G, Connecticut
What she does: Dangerfield is a lightning-quick point guard who can run an offense, and shoot the lights out. She’s small, listed at just 5’5, which will make her a target on the other end of the floor. But this season, she averaged 15 points and four assists at Connecticut, shooting 42 percent from distance on six tries per game.
How she’d fit with the Lynx: Minnesota’s lost loads of talent this offseason and needs a floor general next to Napheesa Collier and Sylvia Fowles badly. Dangerfield could start immediately to fill that role.
7. Dallas Wings - Tyasha Harris, G, South Carolina
What she does: Ty Harris made USC’s engine go, even if her stats aren’t superstar-like. She only averaged 12 points per game this season, with six assists and three rebounds, but the 5’10 guard has grown steadily as a shooter each season. She shot nine percent better from three this year (38) than her freshman season (29), improving her free throw numbers by 16 percent as well. But above all, she’s a playmaking guard who gets everyone else involved.
How she’d fit with the Wings: Dallas has four first-round picks, as well as Ogunbowale, Katie Lou Samuelson, Moriah Jefferson, Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis. There are a lot of mouths to feed, and Harris won’t mind serving them up. Harris would be the ultimate passer.
8. Chicago Sky - Beatrice Mompremier, C, Miami
What she does: The lone true big likely to be taken in the first round, Mompremier is a strong 6’6 with good low-post tools. She can work spin moves down low and hit a jumper, too. In just 16 games this year due to a foot injury, she averaged 16 points on 51 percent shooting and 10 rebounds. She’s also starting to stretch her game out to the three-point arc. After not attempting a shot from distance in her first two years, she made 1-of-3 her junior year and 4-of-13 this year. She has soft touch, improving her free throw shooting by 16 percent from her junior year to 73 percent this year.
How she’d fit with the Sky: The Sky’s roster is playoff-ready with or without this pick, and that’s a good thing for Mompremier. Like any big entering the league, she’ll need time to develop, and she can do that in Chicago. There’s no better way for her to acclimate to WNBA conditioning than practicing next to Diamond DeShields and Courtney Vandersloot.
9. Dallas Wings - Bella Alarie, F, Princeton
What she does: Alarie is a big who can space the floor. A 6’4 forward from Princeton, she averaged 18 points on 47 percent shooting (36 from distance on three tries per night), and nine rebounds. If given time to develop, maybe she can become a knockdown stretch-four teams want so badly.
How she’d fit with the Wings: Dallas has a lot of young pieces, and whoever’s taken here is unlikely to play much. Alarie would be a long-term piece, if the Wings keep this pick.
10. Phoenix Mercury - Te’a Cooper, G, Baylor
What she does: Shoot the damn ball. Cooper shot 42 percent from range on five shots this season with Baylor, her third team in five years. She averaged 14 points, five assists and two rebounds as an undersized but speedy guard.
How she’d fit with the Mercury: The Mercury have their stars in Skylar Diggins-Smith, Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner. Cooper doesn’t need to be a go-to, but she can be a complimentary shooter to keep the paint open, and a distributor off the break. The Mercury need bench pieces who can play now.
11. Seattle Storm - Ruthy Hebard, F, Oregon
What she does: Hebard did the physical work down low for Oregon, setting screens and blocking out bigs from boards under the rim. She stands just 6’4, but Hebard is useful without needing the ball, and should be a rotation player somewhere. She averaged 18 points on 68 percent shooting (no threes) and 10 rebounds this season for the Ducks.
How she’d fit with the Storm: Hebard wouldn’t get much time if she made the Storm’s roster, but she’d be a long-term building piece.
12. Washington Mystics - Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, F, South Carolina
What she does: Herbert Harrigan was one of the best players on the best team in college basketball. At 6’2, she has good size for a wing, and can shoot and slash. She scored 13 points per game this year on 51 percent shooting from the field (44 percent from three on 1.4 attempts) and six rebounds.
How she’d fit with the Mystics: Herbert Harrigan wouldn’t get many minutes on a championship-ready Mystics team, but they’d work to develop her for the future. D.C. knows how to make shooters produce.

A XXX Reality: The True Future of VR for Adult Entertainment
The virtual reality (VR) we’ve dreamed about and eagerly craved from popular movies and TV isn’t quite available, but it’s not far off. The adult industry has been a driving force behind many innovations over the past 20 years, influencing the development and implementation of online systems like secure billing, streaming video and more. Fast forward to today and many of these same systems like quick, streamed video and social sharing actually work against the bottom line. Adult videos in VR help keep the content exclusive and fresh while providing a more stable platform for performers and a steady paycheck. We’re currently in a position in our industry to help shape how VR for years to come.
New and more sophisticated ways to interact in virtual environments are being developed all the time. Technologies like pressure-sensitive controllers with feedback capabilities, eye tracking and even products using teledildonics and related systems are already used to enhance a simulated experience and help people connect in a more intimate way. As wearable technology evolves and becomes more accessible, convenient and portable, developers like ours will continue to align user expectations with reality. Enriched social media, education and other interactive platforms like gaming will help drive the advancement of wearable technology as much as the adult industry will. Users will demand a consistent and seamless virtual experience no matter where their virtual journey takes them. In coming months we’ll most likely see a rise in adult VR supported brands focused on peripherals or networks that help deliver or connect people via VR.
VR has been a breath of fresh air for the online adult industry. In recent years, most premium adult content has been shot in vibrant HD and 4K quality video but the market is saturated with both professional and amateur content. VR porn isn’t as easy to produce or make available for free. The costs for entry into adult VR production is higher than with traditional adult video productions. Testing and perfecting the VR capture process, employing and training the right team for advanced editing and set design all takes time and money. The initial investment for shooting VR porn on a professional level is higher and naturally it takes longer to see a comfortable return on investment (ROI). This barrier may actually help ensure quality and consistency in these early days of VR porn.
Our team worked hard to find the best hardware and process for producing engaging VR sex. Our VR capture rig has undergone significant changes since the launch of WankzVR the exact setup is one of our most closely guarded secrets. Users look for realistic colour and natural curves without pixelation and our rig delivers this. We also provide a range playback options to accommodate the wide range of devices and internet speeds synonymous with online adult users.
Now that we’ve produced nearly 150 VR scenes across two different brands, we’ve learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn’t when it comes to shooting VR porn. It takes a special blend of performer talent, onset direction and skilled editing to deliver an engaging VR scene. We’ve been lucky enough to attract producers that maintain a very relaxed, fun and respectful atmosphere onset and behind the scenes.
Most performers really appreciate the inviting nature of our sets and tend to come back to be featured in more VR. This has made signing exclusive VR contract models an easy and natural next step as we’ve already secured stars like Gina Valentina and Adria Rae for further WankzVR productions. This level of exclusivity and starpower separates us from our competitors and we applied the same strategy as we developed WankzVR’s new sister brand, MILF VR. Productions naturally cost more but we’ve found success by balancing consistent updates, improved pixel density and 3D with competitive pricing, bundle options and accessibility across all leading VR platforms.

The Under-the-Radar Characters That Can Swing the NBA Season
The NBA season is in full swing (finally!). After a long offseason filled with trades and coaching changes, these new additions are finally making way onto the court. While not all of these characters are new additions to their respective teams, they are talented enough to flip the season.
James Ennis III SF HOU: Much has been bellyhowed about the acquisition of Carmelo Anthony and whether or not he will make an impact off the bench for Houston. I believe he will be much more comfortable accepting that role and thriving in that role… except against one team. Without a drastic change in his defensive capabilities, which doesn’t seem likely, Houston will need more of an emphasis on defensive versatility and 3 point shooting on the floor against the revamped Golden State Warriors they pushed to 7 games last May. That’s where James Ennis comes in. As Houston tried to avoid a hefty luxury tax bill by not re-signing Trevor Ariza and trading away the albatross of Ryan Anderson’s contract, GM Daryl Morey looked to find more value on the edges by signing the likes of James Ennis, the aforementioned Carmelo and Michael Carter-Williams, amongst others. Ennis is the closest approximate to Ariza. A career 35.9% 3 point shooter, Ennis actually shoots the 3 ball at a higher clip than Ariza’s career percentage, which sits at 35.3%. The more pressing matter of Ennis’ signing regards his defense. While Houston actually was a slightly better defensive team with Ariza off the floor during the regular season, that was a drastic change during the playoffs, where Houston allowed 10.9 more points per 100 possessions when Ariza was off the floor vs when he was on the floor, the most drastic number on the team (that number fell to 7.2 points per 100 possessions during the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors). Ennis’ defensive numbers were fine with the Memphis Grizzlies, yet fell of a bit after getting traded mid-season to the Detroit Pistons. For a team that was a hamstring and perhaps even 1 3 pointer away (seriously bruh, how do you miss 27 consecutive 3s at home? 27!!) from an NBA Finals they surely could’ve won, these margins matter against a foe that got even better this summer. Houston needs James Ennis to replicate Ariza’s production, or they may not even get the chance to be as competitive as they were last year in the Western Conference Finals.
Brandon Ingram SF LAL: Look, I am a Lakers fan and a fan of Ingram’s overall game and talent. But, regardless the team I root for, a player of his caliber in this situation alongside LeBron James is positioned to make major noise, no matter what team he plays for. LeBron James, Rajon Rondo and Lonzo Ball should all be able to help set Ingram up for more success as a cutter, where he averaged 1.27 points per possession, per NBA.com. last year and be able to use that slender man build to his advantage even further, like plays like this. He averaged 1.17 points per possession in transition last season, another number surely likely to improve with the Lakers emphasis on running. Ingram is a cagey defender and a slick passer, capable of both starting and finishing plays in the halfcourt on offense, but could improve. I’m banking that he will. In the end though, it comes down to LeBron. The Lakers were in a number of games last year, including with the likes of the Warriors, Rockets, Blazers, Celtics and Sixers, among others. However, the Lakers were 20-22 in ‘clutch games’ last season, games decided by 5 points within the last 5 minutes of the game and 20th in net rating, just behind the blatantly tanking Orlando Magic. Only Josh Hart had a positive net rating among current Laker youngins who may be in position to be playing in these type of situations. Among players who played in at least 25 of these clutch games and averaged at least 3.4 minutes in these situations, only 4 players had a higher net rating than LeBron, who led the Cavs to win 30 of their 45 games down to the wire (his usage rate was 44.8%, second in the league only to Kyrie Irving). LeBron can get this group of youngins and outcasts to the playoffs, but in order for them to compete for a title right away, not saying that will happen but there is a timeline somewhere where it does, Brandon Ingram has to take the leap I and others are anticipating he does.
Jayson Tatum SF BOS: This has less to do with Jayson Tatum himself and more so to do with how Brad Stevens reconfigures the minutes. Will he get enough time for all of Kyrie, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward back from his horrific injury in their season debut, Al Horford, Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, Marcus Morris, heck, even Aron Baynes? Will they all buy in and contribute in their roles, likely getting less shots and touches than they feel they deserve? It’s an incredible problem to have, but a problem nonetheless. I’m betting against all that though, and betting on Brad Stevens’ egalitarian offense feeding everybody donning the lucky green. However, Jayson Tatum ranked 7th(!) in usage rate among Celtics players last year, per NBA.com. How much more he will jump from that 19.1% will be interesting to see as Boston looks to get Hayward back integrated into their offense. Tatum’s (and Gordon Hayward’s) ability to play off ball (Tatum shot 43.4% from 3) should help settle everything. I think Boston will start rather slowly than their blistering start last year. But Boston’s ceiling elevates the more potential Tatum taps into. He will tap into some of it, I just don’t know how much of it.
Nick Nurse HC TOR: Not that a rookie coach has pressure in the sense of job security, but is there a coach with more on the line than Nick Nurse? If he flames out in a similar fashion Fred Hoiberg did with a win-now roster after acquiring professional fun guy Kawhi Leonard (seriously, how great is that? Nurse was regarded as the architect behind Toronto’s revamped, modern offense last year. Will he double down? Will he trust Kawhi to handle more than the 30.5% usage rate Kawhi accumulated in his last full season in San Antonio? Will Nurse give Leonard the reigns to run the offense and set him up to become more of a playmaker and surpass his career-high of 3.5 assists per game? (This play is a nice sign.) Toronto is going all in for this season, hoping that progress in the playoffs will lead to Kawhi Leonard staying on board for the long haul. It’s up to Nurse to make Kawhi want to stay and make the most of this limited window.
Dennis Schroder PG OKC: So, Russell Westbrook is still injured, nursing a surgically repaired knee operated on early September. That means, Schroder, already slated for a big 6th man role and possible closer alongside Westbrook and Paul George, will be needed even more. Can Schroder hold down the fort while he (and Andre Roberson, who suffered a setback coming back from his torn patellar tendon late January) are on the mend? Can Schroder free up Westbrook to become more unleashed as a cutter once he comes back? (Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer dug deep into this, go read his article about the matter here.) Can Schroder have the same effect on Westbrook and his offense that Rajon Rondo and Ricky Rubio had on their offenses? If the answer is a drastic yes, than the Thunder can make some noise in the Western Conference on a Houston-like level.
Markelle Fultz PG/SG PHI: Yes, Markelle Fultz. There are obvious questions regarding last year’s fairly unanimous number 1 overall pick: is he healthy physically? Mentally? Does his shot form not resemble how Conor McGregor throws a fookin’ football? Is he confident enough in his shot to take them when presented to him? So far, the form looks good enough, but the results haven’t been all the way there in the preseason. Fultz shot just 10-26 from the field and only 1-4 from 3 in 3 preseason games against NBA competition. Yet, the Sixers have decided they are breaking up the most potent lineup last season among lineups that played at least 300 minutes last season, per NBA.com, inserting Markelle Fultz into their starting lineup over JJ Redick. Reports are that Brett Brown may start Redick in the 2nd half of games, but nonetheless, this is a big move oriented to the future that Fultz has to deliver on in the present. And the Sixers could use him; the Sixers ran the 2nd least amount of Pick-and-Rolls in the entire league last season, Fultz’ bread-and-butter during his time at the University of Washington. With less shooting depth around Ben Simmons, a non-shooter who’s game got exposed in the playoffs by the Boston Celtics, Fultz will be needed to take some pressure off of Simmons and Embiid. They still should have enough starpower and depth (Furkan Korkmaz is a name to remember off Philly’s bench) around those 2 pillars to make another deep playoff run. How Fultz plays this season will determine how far a run they will make.

Alright talented people! Now that we have our base knowledge of next season, and the picking of New teams is just around the corner, we invite talented 6-16 year olds to invest their time with us while taking to the stages to dance, sing, act & tumble. We are looking for singers for the revival of our Entertainers Vocal & Musical Theatre Performance Team. While this group does have a commitment of a year, they focus on performances around the area & region and not so much on competition. We are looking for dancers for our Legends Dance Team. This team commits for one year performing some and competing around the region. They compete in areas of expertise and a member can cross over areas or be assigned to only the area of dance they excel in. Example; contemporary, clogging, tap, lyrical, jazz. If you or someone you know fits these descriptions of singer or dancer and might be interested in our new season, have them call 256-393-5222 or message us here. Our next season will be called "The Making of Me; A Performers Story" & will focus on each individuals story, their needs, and highlight each of them in ways no where else can! Is performing your calling? Could it be? Learn to dance, sing, and take it to the next level with StarPower! (at StarPower Performing Arts Center)
