Sneak Peak

Sesshoumaru's vision continued to swim as he reached for his phone. He'd never been this affected before, and trying to come up with a list of people to call made his head throb more than it already was.

The fact that he was trying to call anyone was a testament to just how much the fever was affecting him. He wanted to scoff at the mere thought, but another wave of dizziness had him flailing for the counter, trying to keep himself from hitting the floor.

Gone were the days when he could sequester himself in a cave until the fever passed through his system. The modern era was proving to be a modern inconvenience, with responsibilities tearing at him from every angle.

He just wanted to rest, but he knew that if he didn't alert someone to his condition, the wrong ones would come looking for him. Gripping his phone, he pressed his thumb into the screen, and a soft feminine voice answered on the other end.

There was a joke made at his expense, one about how he was gracing her with his presence, but as time went by without a response, her tone quickly turned from pompous to panic. "What's wrong?" she asked, muffled laughter dying away in the background.

"I require aid." His vision swam again, and he hissed as his knee hit the floor, the pain knocking his phone out of his hand. He managed to let her know his location, wincing at the growing shrill of her voice as she demanded more information, but his body was too heavy, and he soon succumbed to the impending darkness.

Hmm, let's see. In no particular order...

The Lighthouse - ok, maybe this one is actually #1, at least from recent years.

Annihilation - i love the book series and the movie is NOTHING like the book, but I'm actually glad for it. If I slept more I'm certain the bear would have given me nightmares. Neat movie.

Jurassic Park - I do not care about the accuracy of the dinosaurs. If i want accuracy I will watch a documentary. There are millions of them. I do, however, wish that the Jurassic World movies didn't exist sometimes, just because they really started going off the rails.

Interstellar - big agree w/aeide on this one. Good stuff.

Alien - where my love of horror began.

Naked Lunch - I could probably recite this whole thing from memory.

The Shawshank Redemption - this is probably my favorite movie all time.

Suicide Kings - great cast, great movie.

The Hudsucker Proxy - The Cohen Brothers movie nobody seems to know about.

A Clockwork Orange - a classic, what else is there to say?

I hope these are satisfactory to you! It’s more of a story/head-canon mashup.

Backing up slightly from that point, the first time Ichigo took a nap with Grimmjow in the room, Grimmjow thought he was sick. Ichigo fell asleep on the dirty floor of Urahara’s underground bunker, and Grimmjow, after noticing he wasn’t responding to his half-hearted jabs and threats, started to worry.

At first he poked him in the shoulder lightly. Nothing. A little harder shove. Still nothing. Obvisouly he could see Ichigo’s chest rising and falling, so he knew he wasn’t dead. Yet. Then it dawned on him. Kurosaki, his once enemy and now favorite sparring partner, was napping. When he was still in the room.

Ichigo wakes up to a very wide-eyed Grimmjow, who would absolutely deny he was staring at his sleeping form with a kind of wonder and bewilderment in his eyes. No one, not even his late fraccions, would ever fall asleep in his presence. Grimmjow isn’t used to feeling trusted.

After that, they get even more comfortable with eachother. The first time Grimmjow naps while Ichigo is still in the room, is the day Ichigo moved into his first apartment. He’d helped him move furniture and all that good shit, (in his fake human body, because Kurosaki said it would scare the neighbors if they saw half the sofa levitating) and he got tired. Becasue of said fake human body.

Ichigo walks into his little living room and finds the arrancar curled up on the couch, one arm thrown across is face, legs tucked up a little, kind of like a cat. It made his neck hurt, honestly. So he nudged him a little, softly.

All it took was a gentle nudge. Grimmjow shot up like a rocket, eyes large, teeth bared, his hair smushed down on one side. Ichigo fell back in a fit of laughter.

Once they calmed down, Ichigo offered the bed to him, since he seemed tired. Grimmjow realizing that the dumb shinigami/human/hollow/hybrid/friendly bastard was serious, he took him up on it.

Except, Ichigo realized, as he looked down on Grimmjow’s sleeping form, a week later, the arrancar now sleeping only at his place, instead of the room he had at the shoten, he thinks Grimmjow maybe misunderstood what he meant.

Grimmjow wakes up to Ichigo staring at him, and frowns, a sleeply little frown that melts the edges of Ichigo’s vision and his heart into a little puddle of goo. Looks like he’d be sleeping on his couch always, then. It was comfortable enought, he reasoned, as he turned around, telling Grimmjow to just go back to sleep.

Grimmjow says there’s a lot more room in this bed than his other one. They can both fit, idiot, he tries to hiss out, but it doesn’t sound threatening. Instead it sounds like he was pouting of all things.

So Ichigo gets into the bed with Grimmjow, and finds out the guy is basically a thermal detector--he searches out heat like catnip and gets as close as he can, unconsciously wrapping the covers tightly around them both.

They wake up the next day, cocooned in the covers, blankets even over their heads, bodies so close they were almost a single skin. Grimmjow’s hair is all kinds of messy, sleeping face soft, mouth slightly parted. Teal markings look almost brighter.

Ichigo thinks he could wake up like this every morning.

If you had to pick between sci-fi SK or pirate SK which would you pick

I'm going to have to go with pirates on this one. I think there's more opportunity for fantasy to crossover, and therefore them being responsible for their own "magic" rather than relying on advanced technology or alien races.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a Trekkie, but imagining SK in a world like the Princess Bride is way more fun than Star Trek. Also, have you SEEN @stardust414's art for the last Inu-Spiration? PERFECTION! Check it out here if you haven't, and you'll understand why I lean towards open water rather than outer space.
