The Magician - Ahsoka Tano
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The central figure depicts someone with one hand pointed to the sky, while the other hand points to the ground, as if to say "as above, so below". This is a rather complicated phrase, but its summarization is that earth reflects heaven, the outer world reflects within, the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, earth reflects God. It can also be interpreted here that The Magician symbolizes the ability to act as a go-between between the world above and the living world.
Thank you to everyone who voted on the thumbnails!! (I know the vote is still going on.. im a fool who decided to let it last a week, number one was very much winning here and on instagram)
I will definitely be putting up polls for future cards, right now im deciding if i want to spin a wheel for the next card or do them in order lol
I hope everyone likes this one :D When reading the description of the card I felt like it really sounded like Ahsoka to me, "the Magician is the representation of pure Willpower" was a big selling point for me, and her innate connection to the WBW/The Force felt like a good Star Wars substitute for the heavens :))
ohh and I incorporated @techwrecker ‘s idea!! It’s a little minuscule but the card name is also in Aurabesh at the bottom :3

@ewinasden brought up the idea of tarot cards and the image of BD-1 scanning right off a cliff took me by the throat until it was made so.

Strength. Art by Jeremy Ennis, from the Star Wars Tarot.
Princess Leia, over whose head there broods the same symbol of life which we have seen in the card of the Magician, is passing a message of hope. The only point in which this design differs from the conventional presentations is that her beneficent fortitude has already subdued the droid ( Beast) which is being led by a chain of flowers. For reasons which satisfy myself, this card has been interchanged with that of justice. Fortitude, in one of its most exalted aspects, is connected with the Divine Mystery of The Jedi; the virtue, of course, operates in all planes, and hence draws on all in its symbolism. It connects also with innocentia inviolata, and with the strength which resides in contemplation.
These higher meanings are, however, matters of inference, and I do not suggest that they are transparent on the surface of the card. They are intimated in a concealed manner by the chain of flowers, which signifies, among many other things, the sweet yoke and the light burden of Force Law, when it has been taken into the heart of hearts. The card has nothing to do with self- confidence in the ordinary sense, though this has been suggested--but it concerns the confidence of those whose strength is in the Force, who have found their refuge in It. There is one aspect in which the droid signifies the passions, and she who is called Strength is the higher nature in its liberation. It has walked upon the asp and the basilisk and has trodden down the dark and the unjustified. Clearly distinguish between your ego and your intuitive self.

The Tarot Series - 0 - The Fool
Description: The Fool depicts a youth walking joyfully into the world. He is taking his first steps, and he is exuberant, joyful, excited. He carries nothing with him except a small sack, caring nothing for the possible dangers that lie in his path. Indeed, he is soon to encounter the first of these possible dangers, for if he takes just a step more, he he topple over the cliff that he is reaching. But this doesn't seem to concern him - we are unsure whether he is just naive or simply unaware. The dog (R2) at his heels barks at him in warning, and if he does not become more aware of his surroundings soon, he may never see all the adventures that he dreams of encountering.
Upright: beginnings, freedom, innocence, originality, adventure, idealism, spontaneity. The Fool card is numbered 0, which is considered to be a number of infinite potential. Consider him a blank slate, for The Fool has yet to develop a clear personality. He is the symbol of innocence - his journey to come will shape his character yet.
Reversed: reckless, careless, distracted, naive, foolish, gullible, stale, dull. When you land on the reversed Fool in your reading, you can generally find his more negative characteristics being on display. It can mean that you are literally acting like a fool by disregarding the repercussions of your actions. Like the youth depicted in the card, you don't see how dangerous of a position you find yourself in.
Character: Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars film is epitomised in this card, The Hero's Journey is his path but in the beginning he is nothing more than a farmer boy, on a backwater planet, beginning his journey with his trusty droid by his side.

Any other Star Wars fans into Tarot?
I’ve seen some fan art of Star Wars tarot cards, but not always agree with the representation. Also much of it focuses on the core movies.
I’m working on a set that incorporates more of the universe and all of the cards and actually reflect the card meaning.
I’m asking for suggestions, because someone might think of a better representation for a card than I have come up with.
I’ve just been playing with the Major Arcana so far as far as ideas go.
Lovers: Kanan and Hera (I have seen several as Anakin and Padme, but feel that Kanan and Hera suit much better)
Strength: Wrecker (for obvious reasons but also he is emotionally strong which is a core meaning of the card)
Empress, Emperor, Devil : The Daughter, The Father and The Son.
Death: maybe Vader? I like him for the transformation aspect.
The Hierophant: Obi Wan (usually seen as the Hermit, but I feel this suits his character better)
The Star: Ahsoka (I am torn between this and High Priestess for her, but I’m feeling The Star suits her character better)
The Hermit: Yoda on Degobah.
Rex WILL be going somewhere, just haven’t decided where yet.
