This might be a weird ask, so please disregard if you’re not interested in answering it.
I think you mentioned once that you like to cook, and a lot of your fics have mentions of food (which I love btw). So I was wondering: Do you have specific meals/recipes that make you think of certain clones? Or, do you have any headcanons as to Earth-based meals/foods specific clones would deem their favorite?
Not a weird ask at all! I do love to cook, and I'm always down to talk about food 💚
I will always think about fresh pasta with wild mushroom ragu when I think about Waxer thanks to "The Sixth Language." I have actually made that meal, and it's delicious. (I also tried to do the sexy cooking lesson with my partner, which was... Less successful 💀)
I personally headcanon that every clone has a massive sweet tooth thanks to their enhanced metabolisms and the fact that they didn't get sweets growing up. I also think they would pretty much all enjoy spicy food. This HC is for sure influenced by how spicy Mandalorian cuisine is supposed to be.
I think a lot of family-style meals would be really appealing to the clones, just because they would appreciate the sense of community. Any meal where a big group of people gathers around a table to eat and drink and laugh and talk and bond—I think that would be a dream come true for a lot of the clones. NB I'm not necessarily talking about literal biological family here; I mean it in the sense of the people you love and care about most—whomever that may include.
As far as specific foods:
I think Gregor would have a weakness for cheeseburgers (and apparently pineapple).
Dogma seems like a risotto man to me, for some reason (the technique would appeal to him, I think). He would probably love the precision of molecular gastronomy.
We know the Bad Batch loves sushi! I think seafood would be popular with a lot of the clones because they grew up on an oceanic world (though to be honest, I don't know whether their diets actually included seafood on Kamino, or whether it was just nutrient sludge).
I think Crosshair would love ramen—if he ever got a chance to actually take a bite of it.
Jesse seems like he would be very aware of his macros, and he'd be a surprisingly good cook. Mapo tofu would be his specialty. He would tell you exactly how many grams of protein was in it.
Tup... Vegetarian. Idk why, he just gives the vibe. But he'd be sneaky about it. He'd feed you the most amazing meal of your life, and you'd never even realize it was vegan.
Fireball would probably love poke bowls. Extra avocado, please!
Kix is addicted to junk food, and if anyone teases him about it, he'll be extra shaky next time he has to give them an injection. Jesse is constantly trying to get him to do better.
Rex has been a Sunday roast fan ever since he ate dinner with Cut and Suu.
Wolffe and Hunter seem like barbecue men—legit barbecue, not burgers and hot dogs. Like cochinita pibil, Texas-style brisket, barbacoa, Carolina whole hog. FIRE🔥
Cody secretly loves cheap pizza (think Little Caesar's), but if you asked him his favorite food, he'd probably say something like coq au vin. Don't get me wrong, he likes coq au vin too; it just doesn't scratch that particular itch.
The entire Coruscant Guard loves street food. Any kind of street food. If it comes from a food truck and can be eaten while walking, they're happy.
Damn, this got out of hand! I could go on until the world ended, but I have to stop somewhere. Thank you for the amazing question, Alli! It was so much fun to think about. And I'm so happy you enjoy the way I work food into my fics! One of my upcoming multichapter stories has an OC who is an aspiring cookbook author, and there is SO. MUCH. FOOD in that fic.

Someone: How excited are you for Ahsoka part 5?
Me: I literally cooked a Star Wars meal for tonight.
Tumblr media
From the Galaxy’s Edge cookbook: Tatooine Terrine, Ronto Wrappers, Pitmaster’s Choice, and Sweet-Sand Cookies.
From the Amavikka meta: Tzai (Fialleril’s recipe) and Pallie cakes (my extrapolation from Luke setting out some “round, fragrant cakes” with Tzai in one of Fia’s stories).

Mandalorian Stew
I have no idea what Pog Soup is. I scoured the EU books, the New Canon books, I even turned to the internet. No idea. But Bo Katan added powder to hot water, so as an educated guess, I’d say it’s something like Miso soup.
That said, I thought I’d share my recipe for Tiingilar or Spicy Mandalorian Stew. The original recipe is from the official Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Cook Book.  But mine is better.
You’ll need:
1 yellow onion
Ginger and Garlic (No, I won’t tell you how much, you feel that in your heart)
2 Chicken Breasts, chopped into bites.
1 red apple
Some red potatoes roughly chopped
Some carrots, roughly chopped
1 can of pumpkin puree
3 TBS Tomato paste
Chicken broth
2 TBS Soy sauce
Turmeric, Chili Powder and Paprika to taste.  (I like mine extra spicy)
Tumblr media
Start by frying the onion, garlic and ginger over medium heat in the oil of your choice. I like 10w30. (That’s a joke, don’t actually cook with engine oil. Try Olive or Canola Oil.)
Cook until the onion starts to go clear. Your house will smell amazing.
Add the chicken and stir. Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.  Add the pumpkin and tomato paste and stir.  Add the broth until it reaches a constancy you like.
Now add everything else.
Simmer, covered for 30-some minutes until the carrots and potatoes are soft.
Tumblr media
If I want it hotter, I add a few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot, which has a nice matching flavor
Tumblr media
I served this with Rey’s Portion Bread, which is straight out of the cook book, no changes.  I cooked mine in a too big ramekin, so it turned out ugly, usually they’re nice and round.
4 TBS flour
1 TBS instant oats
1 tea Sugar
¼ tea baking powder
½ tea seaweed flakes
Pinch of salt and pepper
Mix that together in a small bowl, then add 2 TBS water and mix until it forms a small ball.
Place in an oiled ramekin, mug, or other small microwave safe receptacle.
Microwave for 45 seconds and marvel as your portion bread puffs up just like in the movie.
Allow it to cool slightly before eating. Or don’t, go ahead and burn your mouth. I’m not your mom.

Star Wars Recipes: Gi-Dumpling Soup
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So my latest weird hobby is reading about foods and dishes from the gffa and then attempting to recreate them in real life— and since I can't actually cook food for my mutuals (heartbreaking) I'm just going to share my recipes instead!
First up is Mandalorian gi-dumpling soup. This is described as a stew with fish dumplings, but I used tofu for the filling in mine since I don't eat meat. You could definitely use shrimp or something like that to be more accurate, though.
For the stew itself, I wanted the flavors to track with what's described as being common in Mandalorian cuisine— intense, aromatic, very spicy, etc. So my interpretation is a hearty curried vegetable soup with fresh serrano peppers for a kick of heat.
Full recipe under the cut!
Ingredients:
- Red potatoes, 5-7
- Celery, 4 stalks
- Yellow onion, 1
- Garlic, 1 bulb
- Ginger, 1 average sized root
- Carrots, about 3 handfuls worth when cut
- Serrano peppers, 1-3 depending on how mild or spicy you want it (I used 2)
- Collard greens (or other mild, hearty green vegetable - broccoli would be good too,) about 3 handfuls worth when cut
- Cilantro, enough to garnish
- Boullion or broth of choice (I used Knorr vegetable boullion, 3 cubes)
- Coconut milk, 1 can
- Firm tofu, 1 block
- Wonton wrappers, 1 package
- Vegetable oil or mild cooking oil of choice
- Curry powder
- Cumin
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Salt
Soup:
- Wash and cut any veggies that need it (you can definitely buy pre-cut to save time!) I do fairly large cuts for everything so they stay intact better.
- Cut off and peel three 1-inch pieces of ginger. Peel 3-4 cloves of garlic. Cut onion into quarters before chopping, 3/4 will go into the soup and 1/4 will go into the dumpling filling. Slice serrano peppers into thin rounds.
- In a frying pan, combine vegetable oil, 3/4 of the chopped onion, and the chopped celery. Grate two of the pieces of ginger and press the garlic (or mince and then add) into the pan. Saute until everything is lightly browned.
- Place cut potatoes and carrots into a large pot and cover with water (or broth) and can of coconut milk. Bring to a low boil and then reduce heat to simmer. Cook these alone for like 5-8 minutes before adding in the onion-celery saute from the pan, the chopped collard greens, and the sliced serrano peppers. Simmer for a few minutes until everything starts to cook down into the liquid.
- Add boullion (if you didn't use broth,) salt, curry powder, cumin, and black pepper to taste. I did mostly curry with a bit less cumin and pepper, but just go for it and stop when it tastes good to you!
- Simmer on low until veggies are tender.
Dumplings:
- Open tofu and drain water off (I usually sit it in the sink in a colander for like 10 minutes.) Crumble until it's the texture of ground beef.
- Combine vegetable oil, 1/4 of the chopped onion, and crumbled tofu in frying pan. Grate remaining piece of peeled ginger into mix. Saute until it starts to brown. Add salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and curry powder to taste (mostly salt and garlic, you don't need these as seasoned as the soup itself imo.) Remove from heat and cool to room temp.
- Fill wonton wrappers with stuffing and seal (I used the instructions on the packet I bought, but there are several methods and it doesn't matter which one you use!) Wait for them to dry a few minutes.
Serving:
- Gently drop dumplings into soup. Cover pot with lid. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Carefully scoop dumplings out into bowl before adding the rest of the soup. Garnish with cilantro.

I just made tiingilar and it is AMAZING!!! If I had known how good the food is, I would have converted sooner (although the stabbing perks are nice). It is definitely going to be a staple in my kitchen from now on!

Luminous beings, are you ready for...
✨JAR JAR’S JACKFRUIT STEW✨
Heartfelt thanks to @soclonely for the recipe 🙏
Tumblr media
Let’s gather our ingredients:
Tumblr media
So, as you might be able to tell, I’ve made some subs 😅
Tumblr media
(yes, I’m one of those kind of cooks)
For a start, we’re making half quantities - it serves 6 people and I am a 1 people. Couldn’t get find peppers or celery at the shops, so upped the onion quantities. Had half a sweet potato lying about so it’s going in! Seasonings equally based around what I had to hand, but adjacent enough. Also, sugar from the coffee machine; feel free to marvel at my thrift in the comments ;-)
ALSO, IN TRUE JAR JAR FASHION, I MANAGE THE RIP THE RING OFF THE JACKFRUIT CAN WITHOUT TAKING THE LID OFF 🤣 (now there’s dedication for you)
Tumblr media
Looking good
Tumblr media
And now to bubble up it and let it simmer down for an hour
Tumblr media
God speed, my little stew :-D

Food that makes me feel like I’m in Star Wars
Glass noodles. Specifically the sweet potato ones from Cup Bop (a local Korean fusion chain where I live)
Bao. The bbq pork ones
Dumplings. Delicious
Mexican hot chocolate
lentils, specifically with pita bread and served in an earth-toned bowl. Very tatooine
Chicken enchiladas with green sauce. That’s my tiingilar.
pop tarts, but only because they come in a plain silver foil.
kebabs
Boba tea
Any of those single serve soup containers
Crepes
feel free to add your own

May I present, a Star Wars cookbook!! It’s full of wacky and interesting Star Wars inspired meals.
Here we have blue noodles in a creamy pasta. Looks weird? Yep! It’s super cheesy (literally) so substitutes may be needed for those with different dietary needs.
More meals to come. This thing is too neat not to share!
