Dipped a toe and snooped in the pro IC and Co. tag just for shits and giggles and it's crazy how so many can't seem to comprehend general criticism of the acotar books and will call people or stans of other characters abusive and idiots and whatever else for simply being a stan of (name character) but do not see the total hypocrisy in their own faves. The abusive nature of their faves. The favoritism towards their faves. The manipulation both from and of their faves.

Many resfuse to see how all over the place SJM writing generally is and I find it hilarious how when it's stated that SJM retcon blatantly to fit the 1st person narrative of the book it's bullshit people and antis are hating for no reason, but as soon as it comes to ACOSF it's lies pandering to pro Nesta despite the story being written in 3rd person from both Nesta and Cassian's POV. I'm sorry, your fave Rhysand has always been a dick. They'd take everything in first books as gospel, but the moment it's Nesta's or even Bryce’s, it's not true? It's biased. It doesn't count.

I don't like ACOSF. The story wasn't about healing, but beating a character down into submission and as a Nesta stan, I still critique it because...I can and I will. Cassian can go fall down those stairs and give the usefulness of his wings to Emerie.

If they want to read the books blindly, go ahead, but don't get mad when others actually internalise and think about the messages being spoken. Everyone digest media differently, and that's OK. I personally like reading about ambiguous and indepth characters. Not a fan of being told how to feel and what to think. The ability to ready between the lines and pick up things that aren't in big neon writing is preferable. SJM has the capability, generally, which from what I've seen, is why TOG is far better recieved, even with the criticism.

They say if we hate Rhysand or Feyre so much, why keep reading? Well, at this fucking point, we're all too deep in this shit show to stop. Call it morbid curiosity. These books have made me a masochist.

If you're an anti blog, keep doing your thing. If you're a pro blog, same thing. Who cares? We find our communities and have fun talking shit. But the unnecessary harsh name calling over something supposedly "not that deep" is wild.

stan culture is a disease that I will never understand. I cannot reconcile the cognitive dissonance of reading that your favorite star actively avoids going out because of the stalker, creepy photos and videos that people are taking and somehow accept this as okay because “that’s the price of being famous” no. no it isn’t. a celebrity acknowledging that their fandom is fucking deranged and has entire accounts dedicated to stalking your every move does not magically give everyone a pass to keep doing it. it’s not PR. it’s not fun. the normalization of the actual stalking of celebrities and bending over backwards to defend what you all do is absolutely fucking bizarre.

Okay, as one of the only standing members of the original 2010s Josh stan crowd, I feel like I'm obligated to speak up on it now.

New fans, if you believe the conspiracy theories about Josh's relationship, please know that Josh hates you, he hates your guts.

Do you want to know why he deosn't post on social media anymore? The dude used to tweet about seeing Billy Ray Cyrus on the red carpet LIVE. He used to post on Instagram about his dog sons. He used to post about fun stuff that happened on set.

The reason he doesn't post anymore is those toxic fans who have been brainwashing you. They harassed Claudia AND him personally whenever either of them posted about the other. (Oh and they use that as a point in their conspiracy theories as if Claudia not posting about Josh isn't caused by them.) They bombarded Josh's comment sections when he just posted a picture of Claudia chilling by the waters, calling him names and accusing him of disgusting things he never did.

Josh got enough of that and decided to clear out his Instagram. THAT'S why you never see him online anymore. He was literally bullied by those conspiracy theorists who claim they are his fans.

Imagine being hated by Josh so much he cleared out his Insta and never posted again, that's who you decide to be when you believe the conspiracy theories surrounding his relationship. If that's what you want, you do you.

the swifties being insane about joe alwyn will never cease to amaze me. like at this point it really just seems like they were INCOMPATIBLE in terms of their desires for their lives - clearly taylor loves the spotlight and being so visible (on her own terms of course), and clearly joe does not. this isn't necessarily a man forcing a woman to choose between her career and her relationship. I can respect the fact that she likely felt like she was choosing to stay out of the spotlight for joe and that it wasn't what she ultimately wanted after years together, and how much it sucks when someone you think you're gonna spend the rest of your life with isn't the right person after all.

this man has done nothing but stay quiet on taylor. and maybe he's a narcissistic controlling abusive piece of shit, and I'll eat shit if that comes out obviously, but at this point it just feels like a relationship that they both outgrew.

she's allowed to be hurt and to have her narrative and i am sure he HAS hurt her, she was clearly grieving this relationship for some time. but I will remind people that her music is literally art - who knows how much is literal or fiction or even just words that sound nice together. and it sure does seem like they've had their rough patches and toxic moments throughout the years, okay that doesn't mean he is an abuser.
