Do you mind explaining the stage 3 tax cut thing and why people are upset about it? I'm having a hard time following it
So basically in 2019 the Coalition legislated 3 tax cuts to come in gradually - with the first two aimed at lower/middle income earners. Stage 3 was aimed at giving those earning over $200,000 a year $9000 more a year. It'd also make those earning $45,000 to $200,00 in the same tax bracket. It'd also cost the government over $300 billion over the next 10 years.
People were angry because this basically would increase wealth inequality and give a tax cut that mostly benefits the rich. It's pointless.
Labor was heavily painted by the Coalition as going to raise taxes if they were elected so they decided to woo Coalition voters by going "see? We too can pointlessly make rich people wealthier!"
But after a lot of pressure and it being clear this is a bad idea they've decided not to backtrack on it, but modify it to benefit every tax payer by including cuts to those at the lowest bracket, and then reducing the benefit to those earning over 200k (so just getting $4529 extra year if you're rich - so they still get something).
Now the Coalition is trying to make people mad that Labor "broke a promise" even though this now benefits a shit ton of people instead of solely giving rich people tax cuts. They can't actually publicly argue "we don't think poor people deserve a tax cut during a cost of living crisis" so they need to push the bullshit nonsense angle of a broken "promise" from 2019 as if the Coalition hasn't lied constantly.
The only legitimate reason to be annoyed is that you want the rich to pay more tax, but Labor isn't the brave to do that for income (so they've announced adjusting superannuation benefits for the super wealthy instead - which is a reasonable way to get a little bit more revenue).
The Coalition is just being shitty because they need any excuse to make Labor look bad to claw back power. It's stupid.
If you want some numbers here they are:
So the plan was:
Earn up to $18,200 – pay no tax
Pay a 19 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned between $18,201-$45,000
Pay a 30 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned between $45,001-$200,000
Pay a 45 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned above $200,000
The new plan is:
Earn up to $18,200 – pay no tax
Pay a 16 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned between $18,201-$45,000
Pay a 30 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned between $45,001-$135,000
Pay a 37 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned between $135,001 — $190,000
Pay a 45 per cent tax rate on each dollar earned above $190,000
Compared with what it is currently:
0 – $18,200 - nothing
$18,201 – $45,000 - 19%
$45,001 – $120,000 - 32.5%
$120,001 – $180,000 - 37%
$180,001 and over - 45%
Important note: the adjustments to Stage 3 haven't been legislated yet as it's just been announced but it'll be introduced when parliament resumes sitting.

Castlevania: Dracula X - Stage 3:
"Third stage in the game and it's an okay one. It has some very annoying moments, specially that part with the medusa heads, but overall it's not terrible."
