realizing thistle never actually reached the maturation point for an elf is so. eye opening. especially bc he actually witnessed both delgal's birth and the birth of delgal's son (AND HIS GRANDSON!!). as a human reader it's so easy to be lulled into thinking he's so old and marcille's remark of him being a child came so fast it's so easily forgotten

like i definitely think the golden kingdom and delgal himself never knew let alone be able to perceive thistle as an immature person. bc in their years he's just so old. and i think growing up surrounded with all tallmen also gave thistle false perceptions of how mature he was and it played a part in him taking on the responsibility of rejecting death for the whole kingdom. it's a brilliant and raw display of what age discrepancy actually means in the world of dungeon meshi

last year for my dad's birthday i wanted to crochet bougainvillea in a pot. at some point i paused it and got too intimidated to continue working bc of various things including it not living it up to my ambitions. it being my first time crocheting this kind of thing

and my dad's birthday passed and passed Again but i finally. continued working on it. and finished a branch

i wanted to stray from the pattern’s assembly but trying to visualize it and execute it weighted on my mind until i forgot what it was that i was afraid of in the first place

i should believe that i have the strength to come back to things. and that joy will find its way to my heart again.

the discord announcement post for AI features is so funny

they try to start with a "millions of people use AI on discord" hook that is just. people who use AI also use discord. and just use that reason to make discord "home of AI"

trying to debut an "icon remix app" that is totally not lame and embarrassing and definitely would sway people over this tech

the general barely contained sillicon valley excitement about controversial tech

"you've been asking for a whiteboard since forever so we added it" and completely refuse to elaborate why AI image gen is part of it

just completely and unabashedly transparent about how they're doing all this to capitalize on the budding AI scene

sometimes i think about the statement “penny’s character had nothing but how she’d make a good wife“ and it’s like. is she not the child of an alcoholic who could get verbally abusive (and who was basically unemployed at the beginning) and as a result is confined to cleaning after her mother in their trailer? does she not literally say she likes books because they provide escapism, most likely that reading is the only hobby she could afford to have (because it’s somewhat connected to her job as a tutor)? is her confession cutscene not a huge development and glance into her inner world as it feels so daring compared to her restrictive life? and does she not literally say she feels bad that her mom now lives alone but is adamant that pam needs to clean up her own act? like i joke that i’m the token liker of boring girls but i don’t think penny is that uninteresting!!
