Does anyone else think Jared has kind of a 70s vibe when he was playing Sam Winchester? Not the attitude or ideals, but the look. Especially Seasons 5 to 8, maybe a bigger range. I think the sideburns adds to the effect, but even without them, I think it’s there.

I kind of like it though, it makes a show have better rewatch value when the characters are a bit dated to start with because then it’s not so cringy going back later to watch (unlike if characters are super trendy for their time). It’s like how Dean likes classic music, too. I like it.

Looks from the 70's? Where ever would you get an idea like that? lol!

Supernatural was mostly great about not dating SPN to a specific time period (I say mostly because the progression of phones can give it away.) I can see how it's timelessness could help contribute to SPN's continued popularity in streaming. Shows that date themselves through current events or styles, unless done well like The West Wing, can lose steam over the years.

Okay, don’t use my true name against me to trap me in a devil’s trap or snowglobe but I’ve uncovered an old acoustic song I wrote when I was really rather obsessed with Supernatural and wanted to finally share it. Please be kind! Because @moorishflower has written such wonderful dreamling fics and I know she likes/liked SPN, I give this to her :)

I’m seriously considering writing an original dreamling song either with guitar or electronic synth if I can get abelton to work on my computer, so let me know if I should and stuff...

Sometimes I wish Supernatural decided to embrace modern metal music in the later seasons. It’d be a way to demonstrate character growth, showing that though the brothers were obviously influenced by their father’s taste in 70s/ 80s rock and metal just as they were influenced by John, there has been a progression and divergence over time, leaving them listening to something more than the same handful of Metallica tapes on repeat.

That and I really want to hear some Ghost songs in Supernatural, because they fit the ‘vibe’ so well. I’m not the best at editing but here is a proof of concept if you will. So here’s the season 8 final underscored by ‘From the Pinnacle to the Pit’.
