I wound up with a queue of OC concepts that needed designs so I'm going to start going through all those now in between other stuff. First off I refined the most popular of those drider girl concepts I did a while back into a proper OC design! She's a spiny orb weaver!

so a while ago @prokopetz made a post mentioning a spider girl dating sim so i took that and ran. explanations under the cut

aster: spiny orb weaver, genus gasteracantha. they spin their webs with a thick zigzag going down the middle so that birds can see it and won’t fly through. they just look punk

calliope: golden orb weaver, Trichonephila calvipes. i used the ‘cal’ in calvipes, it’s more of a stretch than the others. this is my favorite spider, the females are huge and docile and spin their webs with yellow silk! the males look like tiny chili peppers (represented by her earrings)

I was struggling on what to draw so I was trying to revisit my list of things I wanted to draw and I ended up doing a redraw

1: I wanted to draw Megumi drowning in bunnies but I got lazy after 1 sooo. . . but I did like how it turned out (I was worried abt how his hair would look).

2: The second was spur of the moment but I was interested in using spider patterns/colors to design some things so the spiny orb weaver made an interesting beret. . .

3: I finally redrew a panel from an old comic I drew and the result is meh but honestly, my only standard was to one up past me, so it wasn't that hard
