Aww, here we go! A very easy one! 

While Steven will always be #1 for Peridot as far as I’m concerned, I’m open to shipping her with quite a few others.

I ship Peridot with Spinel even though they’ve had zero interaction so far. Still waiting for the day they actually do interact, but every time I imagine it, priceless things happen. 

I also really like pairing her with Garnet for some odd reason. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve written a lot of them interacting together, or if I just really find it adorable that Peridot went from seeing Garnet as sacrilege incarnate to basically idolizing her. 

By extension, I also like Ruby/Peridot and Sapphire/Peridot because those are interactions that just make me smile so hard when I think of them.

I like the concept of Pearl/Peridot, mostly as a rivalry-based ship. Peri basically being the Gary to Pearl’s Ash Ketchum.

And I like Bismuth/Peridot as well. Mostly they’d just go very well together and I believe Bismuth would actually treat her right.

And that’s pretty much who all I ship Peridot with. Yep, there are two very notable absences most will notice right away, and that’s because I actively don’t ship either of those.

I finally made a 1k post?!

Glad to know I’m not the only one who’s wanting Peridot+Spinel shenanigans! 

I actually do want to celebrate this by drawing a pic that is exactly this (since pretty much all Spinel art has been with Steven, the Diamonds, or Pink Pearl). Only problem is, it might be too big a task for me to make. But I’ll share my idea, at least. Because you all deserve it. I’ll reblog the actual post if I do end up making this concept.

Concept: Peridot and and Spinel doing stupid shit together

Peridot and Spinel play Frogger out in traffic. 

Only Spinel can easily cheat using her limbs to cross the highway...

Ahaha, okay! Interesting, that’s the second time you’ve picked those two specifically... 😏 Guess it is the perfect contrasting kind of duo for me.

Lapidot. No disrespect to those who love it (at least, the few of you who love it who aren’t antis), but it didn’t jive with me and felt pretty forced... then it turned out to actually be a legit forced and toxic relationship. And this never got a proper resolution, either.

Honestly, if they couldn’t be assed to properly address the matter of Lapis needing to own up to what she did in Raising the Barn, I’m at least grateful they had zero interaction in SUF (there was literally no real Lapis+Peri interaction unless Bismuth was also there).

That at least gives me the impression that they realized they weren’t compatible roommates and moved on with their lives. Still friends/allies, but much more distant than before. Easy to read that as Peridot putting her foot down for once and asserting to Lapis that things can’t just go back to the way they were before as a consequence of Lapis’ prior actions.

Not that it’s stopped Lapidot from dominating the fandom even now. Literally, the only Lapidot I’d ever read is one that emphasizes what an unhealthy relationship it is and why they need to break apart. There are a couple of fics out there that did this well, surprisingly.

BROTP

Amedot. Literally have never been inclined to ship these two, and I honestly don’t want to. I know it’s a steady #2 as far as Peri ships go, but it just doesn’t interest me at all.

I’ll at least commend it for not being a toxic mess like Lapidot, but Amethyst has had her moments where she was a major asshole to Peri for no good reason (Too Short to Ride).

Generally, I get the impression that the dynamic wouldn’t change much, if at all in a romantic setting. I think it’s also a rare case where “they’re too similar to work out as a couple” is a reason I have for staunchly keeping the Amedot platonic.

(It’s hard being a Peri fan who doesn’t like these two ships, I swear...)

Second Choice

Spinidot/Perinel... er, Spinel. They sadly never got to interact, but I can easily picture how fun it would be. I’m highly disappointed there’s not much art for the ship, honestly.

Fluff Ship

Ah... Garnet or Bismuth, but mostly Garnet. Yet another ship that has far too little representation. Peri’s admiration for her is just too sweet.

Angst Ship

Oh, that’s easy. Pearl. Both low-caste gems who are high-strung and built to have a rivalry... that’s just a given!

Oh my god, Connverse. Something that started cute, but that wore off fast into mediocrity. And then it crashed and burned, but like Lapis and Peridot, the lack of work involved with properly reconciling made this unbalanced and unhealthy.

Eh... I don’t really have one. Like, at least not one where Connie doesn’t end up left high-and-dry. Guess you could do a Connie/Pearl/Bismuth, but it doesn’t sound that riveting. Sub in Pink Pearl or Mystery Girl or even Rose herself... it’s roughly about as interesting.

Weirdest Ship

Can you tell how invested I am with Connie? Meh. I kinda do see merit in shipping her with Peridot (but of course I would), but that’s about it. Unless I wanna intentionally ship her with some townie or gem with creepy-ass implications.

So, I usually refrained from doing these in other fandoms because in my case, it can easily become almost impossible to read (it’d really help if the CGs were spaced out a bit more in this circle honestly), but I was compelled to try this out today.

For your sanity’s sake (and my own), I went through the trouble of filtering through the lines so it’s easier to decipher.

Some of these ships actually could fit in more than one category. Technically I also see Connverse as a platonic ship, just as I also consider Lapidot to be a NOTP. When it comes down to it, I guess it comes down to where I see the value is. While I think Lapidot’s morally reprehensible as romantic relationship, it can be a cute friendship at times (and I’ve enjoyed writing it in the platonic sense). 

Connverse, on the other hand... maybe my feelings will lean towards appreciating it platonically when I get the chance to write their interaction more in the future, but as far as canon goes, I’m just bored to death by the pair and I’m actively dreading the next time they inevitably interact. But, same can be said of canon Lapidot in a way... so maybe the real deciding factor is how much I’ve personally invested myself in it in my own universe. 

And on the other end of the spectrum, I could very easily put Stevinel, Spinidot/Perinel, and Greg/Pearl in the OTP slot. But I ultimately decided just to stick them in “Love” for now. Could be subject to change.

If so desired, I could probably list these out and say what these all make me feel.

Or you could just ask me about some of them and I’ll almost assuredly answer more quickly that way.

I’ve got a game to finish and a certain chapter over 7k in that I’m determined to soon complete, so the chart takes a backseat to those two things at least unless I get some direct questions.
