I was so hyped by the idea of Emma Swan becoming the Dark One that I couldn't wait for the next season so I wrote one of the scenarios I was imagining. Season 5 of OUAT was such a disappointment that I had to stop watching for a long time and just write what I wished the show was lol

I find that Zuko's redemption arc is not as fully realised as so many people think it is...he should have joined the Gaang sooner if they wanted to do that I think. Some of this may be related to my opinion (no idea whether it's popular or not) but I think that Book 3 of The Last Airbender could have been better structured.

I’ve been thinking and do we know if the other universe spidermen kill? We know some of them don’t kill, but is that a universal/multiversal rule?

This is not a shallow post, honest

Reading Thor-era MCU fic of late I noticed that a few writers drew attention to Loki being very covered-up clothingwise, and at first I was like "...is he?" because he's not abnormally covered compared to men you might see in the street, but he is by MCU standards, isn't he? Not that I've bothered to been able to check before writing this post, but I feel on fairly safe ground saying that most of the MCU Leading Men had got their tits out shirtless by about the end of the second Avengers film, or failing that had spent much of their screentime wandering about in unusally tight t-shirts. By contrast Loki doesn't even have naked arms until... whenever. When he got shirtless in the Loki show (thanks for the confusing title there, Marvel, it makes discussions so much easier) it was because a robot...thing?? stripped him, not because he decided to do it himself. And I, of course, have A Theory about this, based on not much more than conjecture. Don't worry, though, I shall include some pics in this 'essay' to keep things lively and entertaining.

Okay, so: an attempt has been made. Not in a meme way, I mean I do think an attempt has been made in these films to make one of these men look smaller than the other even though the difference isn't as vast as fanfic turned it into. You know how in fic Loki's at least a foot shorter than Thor and all skinny and weedy and whatever? I reckon this partly comes from the fact that in terms of plot and character it does kind of make sense that Loki ought to look like he does in fanfiction. He should be weaker-looking, a bit shorter, a bit - dare one say - "drowned rat" next to Thor Whose Power Is He Carries A Big Hammer And We Go On About Him Being A Warrior. We invent a contrast because it feels like there's more of one than there actually is on screen. We all know what the wee shifty one should look like! If he doesn't actually look like that then we'll just say that he does!

And in costuming terms Loki is dressed in black (slimming! slenderising!), with diagonal stripes (narrowing!), a quite strangely-tailored flappy coat (significant in some way! i assume!). His shoulders are less emphasied, the arms that we later learn are fairly muscular are fully covered to hide any obnoxious biceps, and aside from maybe a bit of neck skin showing (whoreish!) we shall see naught of his actual body - he will not be getting his tits out shirtless until such time as he gets his own show and exists not in contrast to Big Beefy Thor but - at last! - as a proper MCU Leading Man. Because as soon as Loki gets kidnapped by the TVA, this happens:

I mean this happens:

Oh no, normie clothes! Normie clothes being a shirt with the traditional 'Marvel Dudes in shirts' fit (ie: a bit too tight) and the sleeves rolled up, and there's a tie (a TIE! how standardly manly!) and I reckon there are two factors at work here, aside from the aforementioned "we no longer need to pretend this man is short and weedy" thing:

Yes, they have made him look "normal." I know it's a common complaint and sometimes a bit... fervently expressed, but I do think it's a valid point. This show has obviously been made for a 'casual viewer' to some extent. They've seen some of the MCU, and they might feel a bit odd about everyone wearing capes all the time. Let's be real here: the Marvel-nerd audience was already going to be watching this show anyway. The people who know how many Spidermans (Spidermen? Spidersmans?) there are, and who can name well over two of the Avengers. Some of the aesthetics have been changed to appeal more to the 'casual' people, I do think that's what's happened here. (But as one of those people who can't tell you the correct plural of "Spiderman" I don't mind it. It worked! Here I am! Annoying everyone with my noobness! Hi!)

...shit what was the second thing again? Dang it, I've forgotten. Sorry about this, give me another moment to get my thoughts back together.

Oh, that was it: this is now the man we want the audience to think is hot. Some of them did before but we didn't necessarily want them to. And yes I agree that is a bit insulting, given that they did not cast an uggo here. Or even someone short and scrawny. On which point...

I don't want to say they should have cast someone who already looked they way they dressed him to look because obviously that all seems to have worked out perfectly fine in the end, but they could have. In some ways it is an odd choice, worthy of being remarked upon in long rambling tumblr posts that didn't have anywhere near as many photos as were promised earlier on. (Sorry about that.) There's a bit of a mismatch going on here between someone my granny might have called "a sneaky wee bastard" and someone she'd describe as "a six-footer." And this is why in a lot of fanfic this has been... shall we say 'corrected' in some way.

(Not-quite-an-aside: in fic that is specifically about the Loki show and not the other bits of the MCU, Loki usually does not shrink in height and width. This, I would argue, is partly because of the different visual reference points (AKA "we've seen his tits him in relatively revealing clothing") and partly because he's being paired off with different characters, and neither of the usual two (Mobius and Sylvie) are being contrasted as physically stronger than him. If anything those fic writers tend to go on about how tall he is. And now I'll stop before I say anything about obvious height-difference kinks and the fact that yes, your readers have noticed.)

You had been bed ridden for the past week; this years flu had been spreading like wildfire and lucky you because somehow you managed to sick. Your parents limited contact with anyone who lived 'outside of these four walls', meaning no one was allowed to come over while you were recuperating.

You hadn't seen Peter in over a week; those late night FaceTime calls weren't cutting it but had to be done seeing as you both couldn't see each other right in that moment. You both missed each other but he knew it wouldn't be any longer for you to get better and for you to be back by his side.

"So I asked Peter to come over and keep an eye on you since your dad and I are going back to work today." Your mom said. You uncovered your head and smiled at her, "All day?" You asked, "Yes, or at least until one of us gets back. Be good okay?" You nodded at her, "And don't stress Peter out too much today, I think he gets a tad bit too nervous when he comes around." She laughed, "Yes mom, I won't stress out my boyfriend at all." You groaned sinking into your pillow, "Good. Call us if you need anything." You hummed in response, "I will, bye mom."

It wasn't long for Peter to get there and when you opened the door for him; he stood there with a wide smile plastered on his face, "Hi Y/N/N!" He gleamed, "I missed you!" He said. You smiled at the sight of his happiness, "Hi Peter!" You said wrapping your arms around him, "I missed this." He mumbled against your hair, "Me too." You said, pulling away from him.

You and Peter walked back into your room; he took up the desk chair while you laid back in bed. "You're room is a mess." He said, "Take a nap and I'll clean it up for you okay?" He smiled at you and you nodded. "Thank you Pete, I love you." You said closing your eyes, "Love you too, Y/N."

A few hours later you woke up drenched in sweat. You lifted yourself up and looked around noticing your room clean and Peter gone. You got up and out of bed and headed into the main room, where you saw Peter watching T.V., "Hi," You whispered, "I feel like shit, I think I ran a fever while I was napping." You said taking up the spot next to Peter, "You sure do look like shit." He laughed wrapping his arm around your shoulder, "Shut up." You mumbled nuzzling into his body warmth. "Do you have your medicine around? Is it time for you to take it yet?" He asked, "In my room and I think it's time." You said looking up to him, "I'll grab it, stay here." He said, "Can't get to far anyways." You giggled, "Shut up, Y/N/N." He laughed.

"Thank you for taking care of me." You said as Peter got ready to leave, "Anything for you pretty girl." He said; he raised his hand to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. "Gimme a kiss," You giggled wrapping your arms around his neck, "How about we save that for when you're not sick?" He laughed nervously, "Spidey can't get sick." He whispered and pressed a small kiss on your forehead, "I love you, Y/N/N."

"I love you too, Peter."

Had a dream a couple of nights ago about Miles Morales starring in the sequel to Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, and the whole shtick was about Miles missing his uncle and Gwen gives him a dimension hopping device to find a Spiderman like his uncle that he can talk to about this.

So Miles ends up deliberately picking dimensions the most similar to his own to try and find one where maybe his uncle was Spiderman, or helped the current Spiderman of said dimension, but all he found was weird knock off versions of himself kinda?? but none of them were similar and the one that did end up looking like his uncle wasn’t even related to Miles’ family and didn’t like him anyways. (He did find a similar looking Spiderman of himself though, and he was alright, but he was also kind of the polar opposite of Miles so they couldn’t really relate to each other very well.)

At the end of it all Miles ends up so frustrated that he pops back into his own home dimension and Gwen’s still there just chilling but she sees how dejected he looks and asks if he’s okay to which Miles replies ‘no...’ and just flops down.

Gwen offers him a sympathy hug and asks him if she can show him something she thinks he might like and Miles just says ‘sure’ while he’s reclining on his bed sadly. Gwen takes out her dimension hopping watch and projects a display on the wall that shows hundreds, if not thousands, of different Spidermans each doing the same thing both Miles and Gwen do (saving the day of course, duh), while Miles stares in astonishment.

“They all look so different.” Miles says.

“True, but at the core lies the similarities.” Gwen smirks, “You see, no matter the background Miles, each of these Spider-people chose to don the mask and become Spiderman. They chose to become a hero.” She explains. “Physiological similarities don’t always equal what’s down at the core. At the end of the day it’s what the person does that counts; you know that.” She turns to look over at him as she turns off the display. “You may never find another Uncle Aaron, but you will find another person who can help you out.” Gwen then flops down on Miles’ bed, “So lay it on me. After all, isn’t that what us Spidermen are for?”

(this is the first time I have ever wrote a spiderman fanfiction, just to get that out of the way.)

EVERYTHING HAPPENED SO FAST, the scaffolding that was connected to the rebuilt statue of liberty came crashing down. MJ held on tightly to one of the metal bars somewhat stabilizing herself as the boards beneath caved in. Ned held on tightly to you as everything shook.

"I wont let go of you." He breaths trying to stop you from slipping off the edge.

gasping, you unconsciously hold onto his arm tighter. "yeah I'd hope not."

All the spidermen where occupied with fighting off their own villains, the sound of webs being shot and metal clanking bounced off lady liberties copper surface and into the sky. You couldn't run, the portal was to far away and the chances of being tangled up in a fight or falling off on the boards were just too high. The only thing you could do was stand still like dolls and pray you didn't die. Or until one of the peters could save you.

Your body was fatigued and feeble, your grip on Ned weakened. Running from high teched villains with superpowers not even a normal being would believe could get tiring after awhile. With no food in your system the feeling of fainting lingered in the back of your mind.

but there was no time to faint now.

Neds hand began to clam up and you slipped slightly making you let out a shriek, grabbing on tighter. you look up terrified as the boards around you came crashing down on top of each other like dominos. You slip again and your heel dangles off the side of the wood. MJ turns her head at the sound.

"I got you," he says backing up slowly trying to give you some space even though there was not a lot available. "I got you." beads of sweat build on his forehead, he himself was growing tired, you could tell. He doesn't seem to have enough strength to hold the both of you up but he was trying.

"Ned I-" your words get cut off by the intense shaking of everything around you. One minute you are in the grasp of Ned, feeling somewhat secure and safe and the next you feel yourself flying the air. You opened your eyes, when did I close them, and see the pure terror that flood Ned and MJs' faces as Neds' outstretched hand reaches for you, but you were to far

gone.

A scream rips through your mouth as you freefall, with nothing around you to stop yourself you had no hope. Were you ready to die? Were you ready for everything to be over just like that? You were only 17 will big plans ahead, you wanted a job, a house, a well working car, a husband, peter.

where was he when you needed him?

the sound of MJs' cries float into your eardrums as you continue to fall, its not how the movies made it out to be, it was peaceful, calm. You knew you were going to die and you just, accepted it.

You let your body go limp.

Somewhere on the Liberty peter continues to fight Doc Oct and manages to knock him back, giving him enough time to run. He huffs and swings around a pole, hitting doc in the face with a web and landing on his feet. He was bloodied and bruised, his rib cage still trying to heal itself from earlier.

Something isn't right. A weird tingling sensations coats his body like a blanket as he stops and listens. The hairs on his arm raises as he slowly stands. Sadness he feels, and misery. He hasn't felt this since earlier when May died, and since finding and making friends with different versions of himself he felt happy. So why now?

"Y/N!" he heard MJ scream over the sounds of grunting and clanging. She was looking over the edge clutching her chest as sobs racked her body.

oh god.

He dodges Docs' tentacle. He knew this day was coming yet he really wished it didn't. He couldn't lose you, not now and not ever.

He had heard the devastating stories of his doppelgänger lovers, different versions of you and yet he thought he could re-write the story and save you. To hold you in his arms and apologize for ever getting you into this mess in the first place. He should have just listened to Strange. But like May said; With great power comes great responsibilities.

and if he couldn't save you he would be responsible.

He swan dives off of the wood, pushing himself forward to give himself a boost to get towards you quicker. He was so close, he could smell the perfume you wear in the air as you both continue to descend further.

He reached a hand out to you, trying to grab onto your blouse. A metal clanking sound nears peter and in seconds he was ripped away from you.

"NO!" he screams banging on the metal arm trying to land a punch on Docs' face.

Your were going to die because of him.

and he couldn't save you.

!SPIDERMAN: NO WAY HOME SPOILERS!

I think I just realized what’s the best thing about spiderman no way home: It reads like fanfiction. Like Disney and Sony, two corporations that have been at each other’s throats not that long ago, collaborating??? All three iterations of cinematic Spidermen together??? In one film?????? In your dreams. Or fanfiction more like. Because that’s where you’d get these type of far-fetched, wish-fulfillment ideas. And it wasn’t even just fanservice or a cheap play on nostalgia. They actually built up on the relationship and dynamic between them. I mean that scene after Aunt May’s death where they all commiserate and show a true understanding to what Peter 1 was feeling... A VERY fanfiction-esque thing to do, tbh. love it.

Spiderman No Way Home Spoilers!!!!

I absolutely loved seeing this movie. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Toby Maguire or Andrew Garfield movies when they came out, but watching this movie and seeing them in the suits again felt like coming home. It warmed my heart in a way I didn’t expect. I knew I’d enjoy their performances, but I wasn’t expecting how much seeing all three live action Spidermen together would mean to me.

I only wish we’d been able to see what happened to everyone after they went home. I wanted to see how their lives were improved, but at least that leaves room for fanfiction.

Spoiler-Filled Spider-Man: No Way Home Thoughts

Hello!

I’ve taken an unexpected, unplanned several month hiatus from Tumblr but I just had to talk about Spider-Man as soon as I got home.

No particular order. Don’t expect any coherence here, just reactions.

All sorts of spoilers below the cut.

- I love all three spidermen together!!!!!! It was wonderful. They all felt like their own characters, while also all being Peter Parker. I really was doubting that they would all show up. Totally worth it! It was definitely my favorite part of the movie.

- And Peter’s fight with Strange at the beginning was awesome. It made me even more hyped for DS2. Not as much as the second post-credits scene though 😍🥰🥰🥰😍😍😃😃😃😃🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰💘💞💝💖💖💖

- I enjoyed the villains together, as well.

- IT may be partly nostlgia talking, but Tobey is still my favorite spiderman and Molina’s Doc Ock is still my favorite villain of any of the trilogies.

- I was mad that they killed off Aunt May. I was sort of thinking that’s how it would go, and it fits with the theme of Peter being all alone. But enough fridging Marvel!! Justice for Aunt MAy! You already put her with Happy of all people.

- One of my favorite moments was Tobey preventing Tom Holland from killing Osborne

- Peter and MJ were so cute together. I really hope they also get to say hello again.

- I was kind of surprised that Kang wasn’t involved somehow, at least as far as we know at this point

- It was a little anticlimactic that the villains probably won’t be back in the MCU going forward. That could have been interesting.

- I did not like the Statue of Liberty holding Cap’s shield. I can’t exactly put my finger on why it bothered me so much, but I’m glad it’s already gone

- I do like Spider-Man getting back to his roots and less of the focus being on Tony

- I’m sure there’s more, but I’m getting tired now

I don’t care about the Tom Hardy Venom scene at all.

But the DS2 scene!!!!!! It definitely was cut more like a trailer than most post-credits scened. I really hope that means a more detailed one is close to release as I’ve heard. 

Wanda!!!! I’ve missed her. No Vision yet sadly, but I’m still holding on to hope. And Strange came to her to ask for help! Not to scold her! And there’s no indication yet that she played any role in breaking the multiverse!!!! I think it’s pretty clear that she learned about the multiverse from the Darkhold.

One thing that I noticed is that the house she’s in is much bigger than what we see in WandaVision, unless its more deceptive editing. Perfect to hold a family!!!! 

There will be definitely be fanfiction forthcoming about the possibilities. I can’t believe there’s still 5 months!!!!

Spoilers for the Spiderman NWH trailer (Speculation Post)

So, I doubt this is going to be the case, but if not then I really hope I see fanfiction tackle this idea.

I noticed the heavy emphasis on Tobey's Spidey's villains in the NWH trailer, and that coupled with the fact that the media head leading the mob against MCU's Spidey looks and sounds like the J Jonah Jameson of Tobey Spidey's world, makes me wonder (and be very hopeful) if Tobey's Spidey is going to have a significant role in the story rather than just a fun cameo/teamup for an unknown amount of screentime.

It would make sense, given the plot for NWH.

MCU's Spidey is dealing with the fallout of his identity being exposed, and is getting a lot of media hate and distrust being directed at him.

Between the two previous Spidey's, Tobey's Spiderman has a lot more experience dealing with negative media harassments than Andrew's Spidey did (I admittedly haven't watched the ASM flicks since CA:CW came out, but IIRC I think Andrew's Spidey really only had to deal with cops trying to arrest him in the first movie because he was a vigilante-I don't remember them having a problem with him in the second ASM movie).

Plus, Tobey's Spidey would fit better in the role of a surrogate parental figure (since MCU's Spidey just keeps collecting those, and Tobey's last movie was back in 2007 when his character was still a college student at that time. If we run with the idea that real world time has passed for him since 2007-the way the MCU used to have real time pass between the movie release dates up until Infinity War's release-then 13 years have gone by for him).

Andrew's Spidey would definitely file under the Cool Older Brother type role though, and I'm eager to see that type of interaction between the two younger Spidermen (Andrew's Spidey had just started college in ASM 2, which came out in 2014. CA:CW came out in 2016 which revealed MCU's Spidey as a freshly turned 15-year old. So, I'd say there's roughly a five-year age gap between Andrew and Tom's Spideys).

And, well, as much as I've loved Tom and Andrew's Spidermen, I loved and really miss Tobey's Spidey, and think it would be nice to see him get some significant attention in this new movie. He is the one that started it all, after all.

On another speculative note: Am I the only one worried about what might happen to Happy?

There was a quick shot of him in the trailer, and it seemed a little ominous to me. I hope they don't kill him off, I love Happy!
