As I am lying down on the verge of falling asleep I have decided to post some Akashi sleep headcanons

Now, I have seen many people speculate what Akashi looks like when he sleeps/wakes up or what his sleep habits are, so I thought I'd get a quick one out of the way before going to bed. Let's go!

Even though he's very prim and proper because of his upbringing, I don't think that reflect in how he sleeps.

Not to say he's a messy sleeper per se, but he's definitely not a scarily neat sleeper where he lies still on his back firmly tucked in and doesn't move.

He seems like a side-sleeper who curls in on himself, kinda like a cat. He's normally not vulnerable when he's awake, but when he's asleep, vulnerable is the only word I can imagine when I think about how he looks. There's a particular innocence to his sleeping form. He only sleeps when his guard is down, and he doesn't have to worry about what he looks like.

Very few people have seen him sleep. I know Kuroko is canonically one of them because in that trip to Hawaii from the Replace Plus novels, Kuroko shared a hotel room with him, but I'm wondering who else might have seen him sleep aside from maybe Mibuchi and Nijimura. God knows.

Something that the fandom can agree on is that Akashi's bedhead is probably terrible, though. Especially since he and Kuroko have such similar hairstyles, it wouldn't surprise me that their hair gets messed up in the same way while sleeping. He usually takes care of it before he actually leaves his room (again, he likes maintaining an image in front of others), so just like very few people have seen him sleep, very few have seen his bedhead. Those who have seen it found it so cute.

I wouldn't peg him as a sleep talker, but I don't think he'd be entirely quiet either. If he's having a dream, I'd like to think he'd make little noises, but nothing super loud. In fact, they're so quiet that you almost might not catch it if you happen to be awake.

He doesn't move around a lot either when he sleeps, but he doesn't stay in the same position throughout the night. He only gets really fidgety if he has nightmares.

Speaking of that, I think that since Akashi is so busy, is frequently stressed, and is probably always exhausted, there will be random periods where he'll get frequent nightmares and sometimes sleep paralysis. During those times, he'll be more irritable during the day due to lack of sleep. (Can you tell I'm projecting with my own personal experiences in high school?)

He's tried to find ways to combat this over the years. Tea helps, music helps, and post-Winter Cup, being open with his friends about what's troubling him helps. Through doing all these things, he's able to sleep better and for longer.

(^^Secret 4th remedy, touch helps. The only person who knows this is Mibuchi because when they travel for games and share a hotel room, he's usually with Akashi. Post-Winter Cup, there were nights when Mibuchi heard Akashi make these sad little noises in his sleep, and Mibuchi felt so bad just sitting there and listening without doing anything, so he kinda just walked over to Akashi's bed and softly stroked his hair, just to see if that would do anything?? And it did! Gradually, Akashi quieted down and stopped fidgeting. And Mibuchi went back to sleep. But he told Akashi nothing about those events that transpired.)

And even though he's an early-riser, it's not by choice. He just has so much to do during the day that he can't help but wake up at like 6 or 7am. But if he has nothing to do the next day, he'd rather sleep in til 9 or 10am.

He's also a slow starter. That's why he gives himself so much time in the morning to wake up. It normally takes him a veeeery hot minute to get out of bed because he's constantly having to play catch-up with sleep since he's always busy.

I would bet he's a blanket hogger. He seems like the type to get cold easily, so when it's time for him to sleep, he just switches to Maximum Coze Mode™ and snuggles under the blankets. On a cold day, it's especially hard to get him out of the blankets.

Lastly, if he ever gets tired and falls asleep in school or something like in the gymnasium, he'll have his arms crossed while he nods off. Since it's so rare that Akashi sleeps, though, Kise tells everyone not to bother him. Eventually, it's Nijimura who discovers him and covers Akashi with his jacket.

It’s almost midnight and I feel like talking about LaLisa. Ms. Manobal—Didn’t I call for at least 2 years that she’d make a HUGE gargantuan career move at this time?

With the NN currently separating from (most) of her stellium, all but one, this indicates to me that her recent arrival at RCA records was probably finalized around the time of the solar eclipse on April 8th. This would be due to said eclipse occurring at 19° and formed a neat conjunction to her Mercury at 21°. 19 degrees falls within a Libra degree in Degree Theory, which can symbolize contracts and peaceful agreements (albeit rushed in Aries tbh), and Astrologer Kira Ryberg describes the second face of Aries as not only being highly dignified because of its amplified solar energy but creates a sense of royalty, honor, and the question of worthiness that follows with the 3 of Wands energy associated with this phase.

Before one embarks on their journey, they stare out into the horizon, waiting for the ship to arrive and are filled with a gnawing sense of anxiety amidst their excitement. Will fear or the courage for adventure take hold?

Lisa’s actions tell us that the latter is her decision. Especially since her Mercury, which is associated with writing, speaking, and the mind, was the catalyst. However, seeing as the last full moon and penumbral lunar eclipse occurred on her Sun and Venus, I can also see negotiations happening at that time, which would mean, imo, that the October eclipses on this axis were also relevant to this deal being made. But I alsoooo believe that since so much of her chart is being activated at this time (we haven’t even discussed PLUTO’S SEXTILES), there’s more down the pipeline coming that we don’t see. A lot of the kpop tarot readers have been mentioning that ONE particular member of Blackpink would outshine and out pace the others and my betting horse was always Lisa.

But with so much activating for her, esp with her Saturn Return in Aries on the horizon, I also feel like it should be mentioned that ‘pace’ should be a factor here. Aries, at its worst, even if it’s doing well, can run the risk of burning itself out often with disastrous results if they wait until the last moment. With the next nodal cycle occurring RIGHT on top of her Retrograde Virgo Mars next in Sep later this year and in March the following, we’re going to find out if she’s been learning that this power thrust of sudden momentum can only be sustained through Actual ™ periods of rest and downtime.

Meaning—not still working when you’re supposed to be sleeping and doing nothing. With a Scorpio Moon ruling said Mars and the stellium ruled later by that, she may not believe in the concept of rest or taking it easy. She’s so neurotic and frenetic that it just doesn’t make sense to her because that isn’t the way her body works. At rest, she’s often antsy, hard to pin down, and is most likely doing something ‘productive’ to channel that extra steam into. I can also see her being rather lazy and sleep prone during her down periods in response to it. ‘Lazy’ isn’t a bad word either.

However, this can also mean a more strategic shift in direction where she becomes more mindful of where (and who) she invests her energy into. She’d see herself as The Star ™ instead of a playing piece and would value her self worth and act accordingly. She’d also make more informed choices. With Pluto in Aqua sextiling her points after its official permanent ingress after December, this would amplify the inclination for her to want to be more reserved and discerning in how she conducts business and navigates her stardom. Imo, the South Node conjoining her Retrograde Virgo Mars feels like a growth period after a break out, if that makes sense. Breaking free into the wild and then re-learning yourself as someone who’s liberated opposed to imprisoned. It shifts you from a scarcity mindset of needing to sign everything, do everything, and reaching for the top for the sake of it to being more relaxed and self-assured that you’re doing everything right and don’t need to prove yourself.

It circles back to that creeping 3 of Wands worry of ‘worthiness.’ To project further, what comes next in the arcana series are the 5, 6, and 7 of Wands in Leo, the domicile of the Sun, who’ll occupy the South Node in the eclipse following the one to come. Since the Leo decans surround topics of earning your place, celebrating it, and defending it, Lisa’s next phase will predict how she’ll handle this one since the Sun exalts in Aries.

I think she’ll do exponentially well. However, I see an issue that I’ll bring up in my next piece about her.

Chapter 18 - Part 2

Ayo! Cool kids go back and read the first part before the second!

So...! Affluent Yurt! Idk seems pretty dingy to me. Also if this looks like one giant room, that’s because it is.

Oh dear god oh f*ck the Sableye found us again!!

Only a few things to talk about, really:

I did need to reset once after a nasty Monster House + Agility + Draco Meteor combo. (What is it with Draco Meteor in this run?)

You can apparently hit Ghost types hiding in the wall with Rare Fossils lol

That said, Rare Fossils did not always spare me the mercy of Normal form Rotom, who hits surprisingly hard with flying type moves.

(Side note but I first saw this video on a post about Trump getting Corona and it made me laugh my ass off for DAYS.)

This was a tough decision at first ngl. Sleep can be useful in some cases. The move has a little more PP than Smokescreen. And I’m pretty sure we go straight to the Hidden Land Precious Butte from here, so I better be darn sure about what moves I choose to keep.

Then I took one look at the accuracy for Sleep Powder and laughed it off. Four stars versus eight? Bye bye!

Speaking of... Tropius almost never needed to attack, so I have no idea what his moveset was. All I saw was one failed Last Resort.

Wealthy Shore... Wealthy... Shore... I swear that sounds familiar, but I looked at all our previous dungeons and the name doesn’t show up anywhere. It’s very possible I’ve had a Magnagate dungeon named this in GTI? That’s the only explanation I can come up with.

In any case, this section was only 5 floors and I (thankfully) had no trouble breezing right through it.

I dunno if I focused on a different spot of the picture or what, but for this scene some of these shots have drastically different lighting/saturation. I hope the inconsistency isn’t too distracting...

Well, we’re good guys in a video game, so we kind of have to care about you. Unfortunately.

But then suddenly, redemption moment!

Actually, this added dialogue happened earlier, but my shot didn’t wind up looking too good... and this seemed like a natural place to put it instead!

...And then we never see them again.

Which is honestly kind of a shame? It would’ve been nice to have some resolution here. And maybe some groveling from Team Skull because you end up saving the world 😏 (I say like they’d ever do that...)

All joking aside though... this was definitely a missed opportunity.

And a little messed up? Because until Super Mystery Dungeon, for all you know they end up dying in the cave. Talk about dark.

at what point do you think david and julia fell for each other? both at the same time, or separately? and under the sheets that morning or some other point?

Good question. Let me write a novel about it:

I think it’s probably a bit of both: they were falling for each other concurrently but at different speeds. There are things that happen that propel them both in the same direction at the same time, but also they start from very different places. When they first meet, David is still hung up on his estranged wife and he has a lot of preconceptions about Julia based on her politics, so while there’s nothing really stopping Julia from falling for David pretty quickly once she gets started (except for the fact that she obviously knows it’s a Very Bad Idea™ career-wise), David also has other things to overcome before he can really let himself fall for Julia.

I think the shooting and the aftermath is definitely the first big a catalyst for them both, though, because suddenly these two people who have seemingly nothing in common have this shared experience that unites them in a way neither of them expected. For David I think it’s especially significant because up until that point, he had probably often thought like his friend Andy (even though he wouldn’t have acted on it) that it might serve these politicians right to get a little taste of their own medicine and see how they like it. But then he sees Julia after the shooting, frazzled and still in shock, and instead of vindication, all he can feel is compassion because suddenly she’s not just a politician but another human being who has been through what he has been through, and neither of them has anyone else to hold on to.

The intimacy they share for the first time that night is significant. The attraction has been there before, but when they make love (as it is described in the script), it’s suddenly not about just scratching an itch, which it would have been if they had done it earlier, but about finding comfort in each other. It’s slow, tender and pretty much the exact opposite of what anyone, including David and Julia, might have expected.

But they’re not either of them really ready to fall for each other yet, and both clearly have great misgivings about continuing whatever it is they have started, as evidenced by the struggle they each go through on either side of the door between their adjoining rooms at the end of episode 2. David is struggling to  reconcile what he has just been told about Julia with what he has started to feel for her. Julia, on the other hand, is wrestling with the impossible equation of her career versus what she has started to feel for her hot, young, married bodyguard, because this affair could literally ruin her. Given everything that’s at stake, keeping the door locked should be an easy choice for them both, and yet they end up doing the exact opposite. I think for Julia, this is the moment she surrenders not only to her desire, but also to her feelings. She is the one who opens the door. She is the one who lets David in, both physically and metaphorically. For her, there’s no going back after this. Her face here speaks volumes. Lavender has fallen:

But David, like I said before, is operating from a very different perspective. Apart from his own preconceptions which he has, I think, by this time mostly managed to overcome, he is constantly being fed information about Julia that is designed to defame her, and although he is too smart to simply believe everything he is told, Julia still remains an enigma to him. He knows he has misjudged her initially, but he doesn’t yet know if he can truly trust her either. Hating her should be easy, but she makes that impossible too because her humanity always shines through just when it seems like she really is nothing more than the calculating politician everyone is making her out to be. So David remains understandably ambivalent.

I think what eventually changes everything for him is the way Julia reacts to his PTSD and him strangling her in his sleep. It’s not that he hasn’t been falling for her before, but I think it’s the thought that she might want him replaced that makes him understand how much their connection has come to mean to him. The word “anguished” is used in the script to describe how he feels about what he has done, but it is only the conviction that Julia wants him replaced that, again according to the script, makes that anguish consume him.I suppose one could argue that he is anguished because this could rightfully end his entire career, but based on the way it’s written and played, it’s not a professional concern, it’s a deeply personal one.

And Julia is scared, understandably so, but what ultimately shines through is her concern and compassion for him. He still tries to do his job and make sure she is alright, but she can see that he is the one who really needs help and comfort, and even with the door firmly shut between them, she tries to reach out to him and comfort him. Instead of judging or accusing him, she tells him she knows he didn’t mean to hurt her - that he’s not the monster he probably sees himself as. It’s a pity we don’t see David’s face after Julia’s words, but I feel like it’s something he really needed to hear and something he probably hadn’t been told before.

The next day, he is still waiting for the other shoe to drop, expecting at any moment for Julia to pull him aside and tell him it’s over, but she doesn’t do it. Instead, she comes clean about the one thing that’s still been hanging between them: the question about the intelligence she had about the threat on David’s kids’ school - the one thing David would probably never have been able to overlook if Julia had been at fault in any way. But with that last obstacle removed, he’s free to fall. What he feels and what he thinks, or what he thinks he knows, are no longer at odds - except that it’s too late because now Julia’s about to dismiss him, or so he thinks.

But she doesn’t. She reaches for his hand and tells him she wants him right beside her, not because it’s his job but because it’s their choice. Coming from Julia, this is not a small thing, but that it comes after what David did the night before is huge. Instead of being discarded as the broken thing he is, there is finally somebody who is willing to embrace and accept him despite his limitations. David, who has probably been feeling worthless for a long time, is finally being shown that somebody thinks he is worth something - to Julia, he’s even worth risking her career for.

I think if Julia’s speech had gone without incident and they had made it back to the hotel as planned, it would have been a very different night for them because they would finally both have been on the same page, not just physically but also emotionally.

Who knows what would have happened later, with so many forces working against them, but now (barring a major plot twist) we’ll probably never know. Instead, David will forever be haunted by the fact that he never got a chance to lay his own cards on the table for her.

tl;dr: I think they both started developing feelings around the same time, but David had more to overcome before he could really let himself fall. Sadly, he was only getting started when Julia was stripped away from him.
