🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?

Honestly depends on the fic? I try to wait a few days after finishing a draft to edit and I don't have much trouble with it usually. On a bad day, I'd say 3. A good day, 7. It's more of a nuisance than anything else.

🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love

I'm going to recommend a few because I want to hold up some of these people and their beautiful writing.

@lemonsrosesandlavender's Planar Tears, a wonderful fic with Rolan and Catrin, who is not a Tav but some poor woman from another plane of existence that he stupidly pulled into his plane. I LOVE this fic with everything I have.

@dustdeepsea's Benediction which is the fic that convinced me that Zevlor was a worthy NPC for a Tav romance. It's beautiful, sexy, perfect.

@my-favourite-zhent's New Tricks, a fic about pre-game Rugan during his time with the Zhentarim, and Izzy, a woman who is a menace that Rugan can't help but go crazy over. I love them, your honor.

And finally @tickitytockityrattityrottity's amazing Three/Four, a Lakrissa/Alfira centered fic about their time post game, dealing with what Durge did to Alfira and her dreams of opening a bard school. It's dark in ways but still a wonderful fic.

Music is a great way for me to decompress. Throw some music on, sing, dance, whatever you need to do, imagine you're throwing a concert etc it's sooo fun and therapeutic

Ship It

What made you ship it? tbh I wasn't really big on the ship at first, even though I like the Fantastic Four. idk what compelled me to check the spideytorch tag, but I wanted to know what people see in the ship so I checked some of the fics on ao3 and they were some of the most well-written fics I've seen in a while. The ones that kept the characters consistent sold me on the ship and now we're here. There are also tons of fun AUs people came up with.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Sometimes it's the identity porn, and sometimes it's the friends to lovers trope. Peter and Johnny have such a fun friendship in the comics, so it's interesting to see how they'd act as a couple. And they're definitely not perfect for each other, because both have heaps of issues they deal with that can cause problems with their relationship, but that's what it's all about - watching them overcome those issues to become better/stronger.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I'm not sure what could be considered unpopular, I haven't shipped it long enough to know.

10 - Imagining The Future Together

The future was a place she didn’t belong. 

Or so Adrian had thought for seven years. Alliance work meant she at least had an easy answer whenever anyone asked about it: climb the ranks, advance humanity’s future, serve until she could retire. Or got killed in combat, whichever came first. But there had never been shape to that future. No depth or color, just a sketchy outline that she hoped would fill itself in someday.

It never had.

So there were many nights that fit into a pattern, Shepard awake at the mess table surrounded by datapads, resolutely crunching her way through a small bowl of cereal as she scanned some lonely little planet for resources. Even if the future wasn’t for her… there were a lot of people on the ship who did have one, and she wanted to make sure they got there. 

It wasn’t unusual by then, for Thane to appear in those quiet hours, to busy himself and join her side with a pair of steaming mugs. Often, they sat in silence, wreathed in the scents of spiced tea and honey, two people for whom there was only tomorrow and tomorrow, perhaps a day after - but no future. More often, as of late, the hours would pass in quiet conversation.

One such night- she set her work aside. Took the offered mug in a motion that had become routine, down to the faint spark arcing between them as her fingers brushed his. 

Thought of how it might not be so bad to do this again. Tomorrow, next week- a month from now. Years from now. Late nights that were actual nights full of glittering stars with the promise of sunny days ahead, somewhere that wasn’t a ship or station - strangely, Akuze was the first place that came to mind. The image of Akuze and its arid plains, the sensation that this- the present war, the pains of their pasts- was but a distant memory, all they had to worry about was if usharet could be coaxed to grow alongside lavender and rosemary.

‘Siha?’ His voice, now- and her own saying something about she wasn't crying it was just the steam, and ‘no, really I’m fine' that did nothing to dissuade the rough, warm hand from closing over her own.

Just thinking about after.

29. How active is Shepard? Are they hitting the gym, playing sports, or do they prefer quieter downtime?

Charley is extremely active. When she lived on Mindoir, she used to ride horses and do farm work with her parents so she had an active life for as long as she can remember. In her mid-late teens, she fought in fighting pits (when she was a mercenary, before the Alliance) and it helped to keep her fit. In the Alliance, she focuses on things like weight lifting, boxing, running, swimming. If she's not moving, she feels restless. She can do downtime, but it's not her usual thing.

30. What will always make them laugh?

Bad scifi movies. Even if they're considered terrible by critics, she tends to love those types. Bad movies are her go to for feeling better on an awful day. It's always better with cuddles from Thane and Kasumi too.

39. Do they keep around any sentimental items?

Yes, at least, she did before the SR-1 was destroyed. Not much, she didn't keep much after Mindoir (didn't have much time to grab anything before she left) but she has a few old photographs (physical ones) of her family, a broken charm bracelet that was her sister's, and an old pistol of Zaeed's (given to her by him before he was shot by Vido). That's all she carries around with her. She loses it all but the pistol since it was on her when the Normandy was destroyed.
