have you heard of KissingMidnight? back in the mythical community i used to hear bout her from time to time, a p-shifter who became a real mermaid. Now, I wonder... what do you think the true story was?

I hadn't heard of her by that name, but I'd seen the photos she posted as supposed "proof" of her shifted form. (Somebody posted a log of them here, for anyone who hasn't seen.)

The ironic thing is, blatantly faked "proof" like this (photos are grainy at best, especially the ones of "scales" where you can't really even see the supposed bumps she's talking about, and the tail is... obviously a fake? there's no life to that thing at all), as opposed to "that's a normal human thing that you are presenting as p-shifting" type proof, indicates to me that she was knowingly lying. If it was a photo of someone who genuinely believed what they were saying (which, at this degree of shifting, would have to be a hallucination, not just reading too much into normal human body things), we wouldn't be able to see the shift, because it wouldn't be physical.

There's a lot of reasons she might have lied about it, and I really can't speculate on it. She might have originally believed it and then not known how to back out when she realized it wasn't real and just doubled down instead. She might have been just a plain old troll, though it looks like she put an awful lot of effort into it for a troll. It doesn't look like she ever started up any groups, but it's possible she was partly looking to get power over people via claiming "secret knowledge" on an individual basis, since she did tell people to contact her directly according to that log. She might have just liked the attention. Who knows. I'd be curious to know her reasons, if anyone ever tracked her down, but I'm not going to spend too much time thinking about it.

She would never be so intentionally cruel to the woman she loved.

Summary: Commander Shepard has been a lot of things: a hero, a lover, a commercial, a corpse. Her face was on recruitment posters and cereal boxes and magazines, even a VI. But one thing that face never got to do was cry. She went through something as viscerally profound and life-altering as saving an entire galaxy... but was never allowed to shed one single, healthy, emotionally stable tear. 

I wrote this fic to fix that.

I’ve witnessed multiple people having grand mal seizures and have had to intervene on other people “helping” them because so many people have this misconception that they need to restrain the person having a seizure. Which for those unaware puts both people at greater risk for injury because the muscles don’t stop seizing just because they’re being held in place. This can cause tears strains and dislocations to the person having a seizure as well as hurt the person performing the restraints. Like your best bet is to largely watch and wait once the person having the seizure is on the ground on their side (with a head cushion if possible)

#my brother has epilepsy so seizure first aid was nailed into me at a young age #two of those time I refer to in the post occurred at my high school #its so scary that teachers dont know / arent required to know basic first aid for disabilities #teachers should know more first aid than ‘put pressure on your bleeding papercut and grab a bandaid’ #bc they are around children! who cant always care for themself! #some teachers dont even know how epi pens work! or how to help a child put their inhaler into a spacer!

i bought two bracelets from my coworker cuz she made like 200 for a craft fair and like theyre so pretty i love them but also. i am very specific in needing my bracelets to fit my wrist Exactly and these two bracelets are just so slightly too big and its irking me. i kind of want to cut the string and use the beads to remake the bracelet but fit to me. but idk i feel like thats just mean but maybe this is a ship of theseus situation like is it still the same bracelet if i use the same beads and same design just recreate it? its technically still the same right? but idk i just feel mean i guess because the bracelets as they are now were made BY her as opposed to made by myself. i feel like cutting it and then using the beads would like, be my bracelet then just using her design, like idk i just feel weird just redoing her work by redoing the bracelet. i feel like im talking in circles right now
