Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) has been in the news a lot because of The Last of Us now airing on HBO. In one recent interview she came out as nonbinary.
Ahead of the series’ debut, she sat down with The New York Times for an interview published online Wednesday and was candid about how she identifies.
“I guess my gender has always been very fluid,” Ramsey said. “Someone would call me ‘she’ or ‘her’ and I wouldn’t think about it, but I knew that if someone called me ‘he’ it was a bit exciting.”
[ ... ]
As for pronouns, Ramsey said she would check “nonbinary” if it’s an option on a form. “I’m very much just a person,” she added. “Being gendered isn’t something that I particularly like, but in terms of pronouns, I really couldn’t care less.”

« I’m neurodivergent and that’s part of why I feel more understood by adults. It didn’t faze me at all. Being around kids my own age would have been so much harder. »
— Bella Ramsey in an interview at The Guardian explaining why acting around adults on Game of Thrones was not that difficult.

George R.R. Martin explains how Gibraltar influenced the concept of Casterly Rock. He spoke with Jonathan Sacramento of the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation.
To me, the most interesting part of the conversation was when GRRM explained what artists get wrong about depicting Casterly Rock.

BTW, George’s NYC area accent has faded over the decades. But for some reason it resurfaces whenever he uses the word “Gibraltar“.

Artist Ertaç Altınöz in Turkey/Türkiye created this conceptual image for the proposed Jon Snow series on HBO.
It looks like Jon got on the bad side of Jaqen H'ghar from the condition of his eyes. Maybe rents were getting too high in Braavos and the Faceless Men moved to the old cave of the Three-Eyed Raven.
You can see more of Ertaç Altınöz’s marvelous artwork at ArtStation.
The Snow series is still largely speculation at this point.

Not sure if autocorrect was at fault or if this was a Freudian slip. 🫣
On May 7, United Nations’ Geneva office made an embarrassing goof-up while calling for peace and silencing the guns. In a tweet, they wrote, “We want peace. Silence the guns”, followed by the hashtags #StopWar and #IncestInPeace. However, the use of the word “Incest” (Archive link) created a tsunami of memes and jokes across social media.
This certainly reminded people of certain Westerosi twins.

Some people outside the United States may not fully get this meme – apart from already knowing that Tucker is a Putin-loving white nationalist. So as a public service...

Tucker Carlson ousted at Fox News following network's $787 million settlement
What would really be fun is for a string quartet to play “The Rains of Castamere” under the HUGE poster of Tucker at the News Corp. HQ in Manhattan.

This is a bit off topic but slightly less so you find out who received the now 107 year old letter.
A letter written in February 1916 has arrived at a flat in south London more than 100 years later.
The envelope, which has a Bath postmark and a 1d (1p) stamp bearing George V's head, arrived at Finlay Glen's flat on Hamlet Road, Crystal Palace, in 2021.
He said: "We were obviously pretty surprised and mystified as to how it could have been sat around for more than 100 years."
Royal Mail said it remained "uncertain what happened in this instance".
The letter was sent two years before World War One rationing was introduced and King George V had been on the throne for five years.
Future prime ministers Harold Wilson and Sir Edward Heath were both born later that year.
The resident at the flat where the 1916 letter was finally delivered is Finlay Glen, a 27-year-old theatre director.
Finlay happens to be the son of Iain Glen who portrayed Daenerys Targaryen loyalist Ser Jorah Mormont.
Here’s Finlay holding the wayward letter.

The sword Blackfyre as rendered by Brazilian artist Cæsar Filho and posted at ArtStation. See more of Senhor Filho’s work, including four additional GoT swords, here.
Blackfyre was the sword of Aegon the Conqueror. Its last known wielder was Aegor Rivers, founder of the Golden Company, who died in Essos about 55 years before the events of S01E01 of GoT.

At the official Game of Thrones Convention this past weekend Kit Harington dropped a few indirect hints about the Jon Snow series said to be under development.
Harington remained mum on the subject. Moderators John Concepion and Greta Johnsen didn't broach the topic. Neither did the fans who lined up to ask questions during a Q&A. But the one thing Harington did talk about was where the ending of Game of Thrones left his character.
He began speaking about how the drama ended in 2019, with Jon killing Daenerys and being banished to live out his days on the Wall in the North. "I think if you asked him, he would've felt he got off lightly," the actor said. "At the end of the show when we find him in that cell, he's preparing to be beheaded and he wants to be. He's done. The fact he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse."
"He's gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live out his life thinking about Ygritte [played by Rose Leslie] dying in his arms, and live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly [Brenock O'Connor], and live out his life thinking about all of this trauma, and that…" Harington paused for a brief moment. "That's interesting," he coyly emphasized.
"So I think where we leave him at the end of the show, there's always this feeling of like… I think we wanted some kind of little smile that things are okay. He's not okay," he said.
That seems to imply that a new Jon Snow series would include a bit more psychological self-reflection than what we’ve seen in GoT and HotD.
The area North of the Wall where we last saw Jon is largely emptied out. There certainly aren’t any shrinks up there for Jon to consult.

^^^ So if you'd like to take that one step further, have Bran warg into Arya.
An amusing sequel would be to have Arya and Bran traveling around Westeros to play practical jokes on unsuspecting subjects.
