Fun facts about lancelot pls. Out of all knights i have a hard time writing him he is so complicated. Help!

Youve come to the right place I am full of fun useless knowledge about lancelot :-) hes kinda hard to characterize cus you have to dig through the french idolization and the dutch. Hatred and the italian whatever the fuck was happening in the italian romances but. I think hes a neat character. Hes a flawed man but he tries to do good. He is honestly aggravains foil in a few ways but we dont talk about aggravain. Anyways

LET IT BE KNOWN. lancelot has a scar on his cheek. This is very useless knowledge but he does and this is such a known fact people recognize him by it. Its very cute considering bors one recognizable trait is a scar on his forhead!!! The du lac family bond is incredible.

When I say that I mean it doesnt exist. Sure lancelot and galahad are close and love each other but they nevwr get any time to actually spend with each other besides the boat scene. And sure lancelot and bors would and have died for each other and bors looks after his younger cousin WIDLY but they always have a disconenct . Like they never really truly Get each other. This may just be on lancelots side since bors constantly goes out of his way to protect him but they always just barely miss each other until the end when they colide and everythings too late. Seems to be the theme with lancelot. Lionel (lionel) hes there I guess but hes only REALLY there to tag along with bors. Sometimes cause mischief in lancelots name. Must suck having ur younger cousin outshine you. Literally an orkney situation edbdsjwody. And hector has no character. Thats it. He follows bors around sometimes.

Ive talked about lancelots problems with communication and mental health but its always nice to touch on. He passes out if he feels a strong emotion, he takes naps in the woods, he drinks from random fountains, he cries literally SO OFTEN. hes a mess

With the crying. Hes also a HUGE mamas boy. I think I talked on this before but god he . Wow . He loves his mom so much. Shes a great mom! The lady of the lake is so patient and good. Lancelots a nightmare and basically relies on the magic ring she gave him to dispell magic, he uses the magic shield she gave him that boosts his fighting prowess, he cries and has her come and comfort him for days. Shes willing to speak for him when he goes nonverbal. She is literally the best mom ever I would be a mamas boy too it I were him.

Hes also a dunce. Unlike gawain who has the benifit of being clever and genuinely smart just rash and refusing to think things through, lancelot just doesnt understand SHIT. hes dumb. He does stupid things because he thinks itll make others happy. Hes just a mess.

His only concept of love ended up being guenevere so like. Keep that in mind. His idea of showing love is literally bleeding for the person and will tend to do absolutely stupid things in the name of love. Hes very desperate to feel loved but doesnt understand what it is and finds it in the wrong places. Its why he crawls back to elaine (the bad one) when he goes mad. Its why he refuses to break it off with guenevere. Its why he cant see gawain or galehauts advances. He straight up doesnt understand you can have love without bloodshed and feeling like absolute shit.

He doesnt know what taxes are.

Him and kay are actually like. Decently close in some legends? Which is so cute. Kays a good dad and sees this mess of a man and is like please dont do this. I like the dutch tale where kay gets his ass kicked on a quest and lancelot who missed what was actually happening went. Oh kay ill go. I dunno whats going on but !

His friendgroup is a nightmare. Half of them hate him (half the orkneys. Lionel kinda. Tristans a wild card) half of them love him (gawain and gareth. Bors and hector I guess. Dinadan. Tristan again is a wildcard.) its great. They crash at the joyous gard A LOT. dinadan tristan and gareth spend at least half a year at the gard while lancelots off eloping with galehaut in le morte so. Go off.

WAIT ANOTHER FUN FACT. Ok lancelot is french his family is from gaul but he wouldny actually have a french accent. Or know french. He grew up in a lake if he knew any second language it would be fae

i need to talk to you sometime when we have a decent amount of time, if that's fine with you. i don't know when your phone will be charged or when you'll see this so i'll just have to roll with whenever i see that you've read this. i don't know how to put it into words well but i want to talk to you face to face cause i need to tell you in person how im feeling. to sum up so you know what you're getting into and can just tell me to fuck off if you want cause i respect your feelings and if you don't want to get back into dealing with my scattered self, thats fine, ill deal with it. anyways, everyones been telling me that i have to just step up and do it so basically, i have always liked you of course, and that night i fucked it up because i acted on panicked feelings which had no reason to be there in the first place because you were great but they happened anyway and i regret that whole mess ever since it happened cause ive still very much liked you since it's all happened. i dont know how this sounds but basically i miss you and i always have since then. ask the people in our friendgroup cause ive been trying to figure out how to do this but i put it off for months and now im really just sinking deeper and deeper everyday because i fucked over the thing that made me so happy and it's all my fault in the first place which im sorry again. we weren't in a relationship but we still obviously had something and i just one night had a panic attack and messed up. but anyways, maybe at a party or something we can talk or whatever, or if you want to do it over the phones thats fine. if you dont like me anymore i can respect that, ill back off and let you be but if you still do, like i do, then i want to try again if you want to. don't feel pressured if you don't want to cause that's the last thing i want to do. also, this might be really random but this always runs through my head when i see you and it's starting to really mentally mess with me and i just want to hug you and talk about random stuff and mess around like we use to so yeah, let's talk sometime
