I sat with Mike, Angela, Jessica and Eric like usual. Listening to them rant about the illness going around.
I then look up to see Bella carrying her tray of food to her normal table but then looks at us. I smile, encouraging her to do it. She takes a deep breath and joins us. I watch as the others take note but continue talking.
"I'll kill Tyler if he gave me his flu." Jessica threatens. "It's going around. My sister was so sick she couldn't come on our hike this weekend... so she didn't see it." Angela frowns, they were talking about a large animal. "Ang, maybe you should keep that to yourself." He whispers to her.
"We saw something Eric." Angela argues with him. "I believe you." He assures her. "No he doesn't. He's just trying to get lucky." Jessica calls him out.
"Is that an option?" Eric asks in a hopeful tone. "It was jet black and huge; on all fours it was still taller than a person. A bear maybe." She explains what it is and I stiffen up.
That's definitely one of the Quileute boys...
"Or Big Foot." Jessica interjects. "Or an alien. Lucky you didn't get probed." Mike jokes. "We saw it." Angela whispers and my face softens, I believe her but I can't be the one to speak up. "You're not the only one." Bella says, everyone then stares at her, shocked that she actually spoke up. "My dad's been getting reports at the sheriff's station. A couple hikers went missing. People are scared." She explains, everyone's now sitting a little straighter due to what she said. "I did hear some guy talking about it at the store." Mike admits. "Last time you clowns doubt my girlfriend." Eric puts his arm around Angela, now they all continue to another conversation.
Angela moths a thanks to Bella. Sharing a smile before they both join in. Bella rejoining the group again.
"You look scared." Jacob tells Bella, I stand there with my arms crossed. "I'm not." She's lying, she's now on one of their completed motorcycles, Jacob stands next to her, holding the bike up.
Now on the La Push forest clearing, a dirt road, Jacob runs through the instructions. "Brake?" She taps it. "Clutch?" She squeezes it. "Right. Gas?" She then grips it, he smiles up at her. "You ready?" She nods, he then grins, kick starting the bike. "Slowly release the clutch."
She does as told, the bike moves forward an inch. Jacob nervously steps back and she moves another inch forward. I notice her turning to find something. Her hand slipping off the clutch and the bike bucks and falls on top of her. Jacob and I quickly lift it off of her. "You okay? Bruises, breaks?" He questions her and I stare down at her. "I'm going again."  She tells us. "I'm not sure that's a good-" She's already up and hopping back on the bike. "Guess we're going again. Now what are you going to do with the clutch?" He asks her.
"Release it. Slowly." He nods, kick-starting the bike again. She releases the clutch and moves forward. Slowly at first.
Now she keeps going, a tiny bit faster. I notice as she is looking around and then the curve up ahead gets closer to her. "I don't- How do I turn!?" She yells to us. I drop my arms and I want to run to her but it would give myself away to Jacob. "Bank it! Bank- hit the brake!" He shouts. "Hit the break, Bella!" I scream. Both of us running to her. I try to match my pace with his, She reaches the turn, not banking and goes straight.
Flying right into a wall of trees. As she lies on the ground dazed, we hurry to her. "What are you training for the X-games?" He questions her. My nostril flares as I can already smell her blood. "I want to go again." She says. "Forget it. I'm revoking your motorcycle privileges. Man, look at your head." He tells her, I back away from the sight. Holding my nose. Normally blood doesn't affect me, but it's been a while since I've been hunting.
"God, I'm sorry." Bella shrinks as Jacob pulls his shirt off to wipe the blood. "You're apologizing for bleeding?" He questions her. "It uh bothers name." She points to me as I then pretend to gag at the sight.
Knowing it's really just making my mouth water like feigning animal. "[Name] you alright?" He asks me and I just put my thumb up. "I uh, I'm gonna go over there." I look away from them , hurrying away.
I go into the woods, far away from them. I can hear them talking but I know that they won't be able to hear me.
Shit, why haven't I gone hunting in so long. I feel the pain of smelling her blood. My nose stinging as my mouth waters tensely. I cover my mouth to muffle the sound of my groans.
I then see a deer walking, my body starting to shake as I try to control myself. I squeeze my eyes. Looking back to the entry of the forest. They can't see me. I'm going to have to not be messy with this. I then surprise attack the deer.
Wiping the blood off of my face, I cover the deer with leaves, cleaning myself off as well.
"[Name]!?" Jacob calls after me. I curse mentally. Checking myself one more time and I walk over to him.
"I'm right here." I laugh. "Sorry, blood really freaks me out. I had to throw up." I lie to him, walking up to him. His facial expression shows confusion. "You never had that problem when we were kids. You were the one who practically played doctor when one of us got hurt." He remembers and I bite my bottom lip thinking of what to say.
"Yeah, then in Arizona a kid broke his leg, bone out and all. I've gotten sick at the sight of blood ever since." I pick up a quick lie, he seems suspicious but shrugs it off, both of us leaving the area.
Charlie and I are watching a game, well more Charlie than I am. I'm more focused on Bella doing homework, she's on edge. Jacob hasn't respond to texts or calls after they went out to the movies together with Mike. She wanted me to go too since it was going to be awkward for her, knowing both boys like her. I refused though, not wanting to be caught up in that mess. She told me Jake wasn't feeling good at the end of the night, feeling extremely warm.
She's been trying to call him, she had the flu too so she wanted to make sure he's alright too.
As the next few days passed I heard her try to call him over and over again. Now we're in the kitchen, she left yet another message. Charlie comes into the room.
"Harry and I will be back by three." His sentence stops when he sees her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "It's mono, Bells." He softly reminds her. "He's too sick to even call?" She exclaims. "You just gotta wait it out. You know, I don't have to go fishing..." He says, even though he desperately wants to go. "No, go. I have [Name]. I'll just call Jessica or something." She forces a smile. "Good but you two stay here or at Jess's. No hikes or anything. We're issuing a warning about those bears." Charlie sternly tells us.
But of course Bella and I don't listen, After we watched Charlie and Harry leave we went to the woods. Bella tries to navigate her way to the meadow with a map and a compass. "You know I could just get the top of a tree and probably find it easily right?" I remind her, she just hums in response. I just let out a sigh, continuing to follow behind her. I know it's a wolf that everyone's seeing but I want Bella to feel a little safer so I can along.
After a while I see Bella notice the clearing ahead, hurrying towards it. Once she goes into the opening she seems hopeful. Like something... someone will be there waiting for her. She told me about the sun that would be out but instead it's cold, gloomy and cloudy. Bella sinks to her knees, I frown at the sight.
Before she can even cry, we hear a rustling noise. We turn towards it, I move my body to cover hers. Another noise coming from a different area of the woods. Then we turn to another noise and Laurent is a few yards away. My body stays in front of Bella.
"Laurent?" She questions.
"Bella. [Name]." He acknowledges my existence as well. "I must admit, I didn't expect to find you two here." He admits to us. "We live here. But you- I thought you were in Alaska with Carlisle's friend." She brings up.
"Tanya, I was. It was kind of him to arrange, given my association with James and Victoria. The enemy." He smiles to himself. "You tried to help us." Bella disagrees with the last part. Laurent begins to stroll in a slow arc around us. Bella grips onto the sleeve of my jacket. Every movement he makes I follow. "I went to visit the Cullen, but their house is empty. I'm surprised they left you two behind. As you were some sort of pet and you... you turned." He grins. "Congratulations." I roll my eyes in response. I begin to feel Bella's fear. "Um... something like that." She tells him.
"Do the Cullen visit often." He looks between the both of us. "Absolutely. All the time." Bella lies. Good call. "I'll tell them you stopped by." She's trying to soothe her body. I begin to focus on my energy while also on him. Any step closer and I'll tear his head off. "Will they be able to reach you in Alaska?" She questions.
"I don't think so. Tanya's vegetarian family was pleasant enough. But the dietary restrictions were difficult- living on nothing but animals." He then looks at me, smirking.
"Something you've been finding difficult lately, hm?" He whispers, only audible to me. I give him a look. I haven't tried human at all. What is he talking about?
"Tell me Bella. Do you ever fell compelled to cheat?" She tries to step back while also holding me but I keep my stance. "But that's not why I left. I came back here as a favor to Victoria." She
"You're still friends."
"More or less. She asked me to get the lay of the land with the Cullen. Because, well... I'm afraid Victoria is quite put out with you." He informs her. "That's too back." She responds. My eyes glare him down, he's not focused on me. He doesn't know my ability. "Yes. She feels it's only fair to kill Edward's mate, given he killed hers. Eye for an eye, mate for mate." He tells her, Bella's heart quickens each word he speaks.
"Edward will know who did it. He'll come after both of you." She knows to not bring up my ability. "I don't think he will. After all, how much could you mean to him if he left you here unprotected?" He then glances at me again, he thinks I'm not a threat. "Victoria sent me here for information. She won't be happy about my killing you." He hums. "No, Laurent..."
"No, no, no. Don't be upset. I'm doing you a kindness. Victoria plans on killing you both slowly. Painfully, whereas I'll make it very quick." I'm apart of it now too?
"And you smell so mouth watering." Laurent inhales my sisters scent which grosses me out. He then shoves me out of the way, taking Bella into his arms.
Shit.
I hear her whisper something. I stand up, then look over to see a black wolf. It's Sam. He skulks out of the darkness of the woods. Letting out a disturbingly deep growl, his sharp teeth gleaming. I smile at the sight of the others coming out. I go over to Sam. Laurent goes to bolt across the meadow. I use my ability to slow him down, weaken him.
"What is-" He stares back at me, noticing it's my doing. The wolves then spring out, seemingly towards Bella but then leap above her. It's impossible for Laurent to fight back as my ability weakened him into an almost human state.
"Run, Bella." I push her towards the way we came in. "What about you?" She panics. "They're good. It's okay." I tell her. She then runs like she was told.
Once she's out of sight I run to the mess they've made of Laurent. His limbs all over the place. Sam and who I think is Jacob come up to me. I smile.
"Good timing." I pet who I think is Jacob. "I'm sorry you turned." I sadly look at him. He whines a bit, backing away from my hand. Sam makes a low grumbling noise.
"I'll make the fire and then meet you guys at the rez." I tell the five wolves. Sam huffs. Paul comes up, purposely bumping into me, whipping me with his tail. "Hey, get going now." I order them.
Sam does a quiet howl, they make their way away from the scene and I pick up Laurents limbs, putting them in a pile.
After putting out the fire I rush back to my house. Charlie is already angrily storming out the door. "I'm going to the station, you want to come?" He asks. "No thanks, I'm gonna go to the Rez." I tell him, he comes over and gives me a quick side hug and kiss on the forehead before getting in his car. Bella comes out.
"Can you come with me to get Jacob?" She asks, storming towards her truck. "Uh-" "I'm going either way." She opens the truck door. I let out a groan, she's already taking off so I look around and then jump onto the back of the truck bed. She looks in the back and I irritably wave, she tries to hide her smile as she continues to drive. I stay sat in the back.
Feeling rain droplets start to fall on me. Lifting my hands I feel the rain. Then notice my hands steam, I begin to panic. Going to yell to Bella but then it stops and I close my mouth. What is happening? I feel my chest begin to pound and the steam emits once again off my body.
Stop stop stop stop.
Bella's truck goes to a halt and I stand up from the truck bed. The steam stops again. The rain only getting harsher.
Bella and I head to the door, she knocks. No one answers. Then a second time and finally Billy is at the door. "Hi, Billy. I know Jacob's sick but-" "He's out with friends." He cuts her off. She seems taken aback. "Oh." "I'll let him know you came by." He begins to close the door but Bella stops him. "Wait- he's got mono, right? That's what you told my dad." She interrogates him. "You should go home, Bella." Then he finally closes the door.
Bella storms down the stairs, getting into her truck and slamming the door behind her, obviously pissed. She begins to start the truck but then stops, tossing the keys aside. I slowly walk down myself, instead of going towards the truck I go to where I can hear five boys rough housing in the woods.
I speed off to where I hear them, peeking out from a tree as they don't even notice me.
"You know for wolves. It was pretty easy for me to sneak up on you." I fold my arms in front of my chest, they all jolt, getting into an attack position but once they realize it's me they calm down.
"Jake you're hurting my sister." I point a finger in his face. "I don't have a-" "Ah," I cut him off. "I didn't ask for excuses. We all have choices." I then look over to Sam who doesn't look me in the eye. "He really doesn't have a choice." Paul speaks up and I laugh. "He does, everyone does. You guys just choose the dumb ones!" I throw my hands up in the air.
"Well here's a choice you have, you're a bloodsucker who has the choice to be something better." Jacob throws in my face and my eyes widen. "Excuse me?" I step closer to him, Sam places a hand on his chest, pushing him back. "Jacob that's not-" "You told him!?" I glare at Sam.
"I can't control it, wolves read each others minds. I don't get to hide anything." Sam defends himself, I close my eyes tightly, now angered. "Jacob apologize to my sister or so help me." I spit in his face, shoving him against a tree before I walk away. I hear Sam jog after me, the boys looking after Jacob.
"[Name], I swear I didn't mean for anyone to know." He tells me and I just ignore him. "[Name], I'm sorry." He's practically pleading and a part of me wanted to stop to listen to him. That child in me who had the biggest crush on Sam Uley wanted to stop. But the other part, the person I am today, refuses to even look him in the eye after the betrayal he committed for his own selfish reasons.
I then see Jacob at Bella's truck, her climbing out. "You cut your hair." She announces. "Go away." Jacob turns away and bite the inside of my mouth. She grabs onto his arm. "What happened to you?" She asks him and he turns back as the others wait for him, out of earshot.
"I can help." She lowers her voice. His face is stern, shaking his head. "Sam got to you. What did he do?" Bella questions, obviously concerned for her friend. "Sam's trying to help me, don't blame him." He retracts. "Then who?"
"How about those filthy, reeking bloodsuckers you love? The Cullens... your sister." He says, he obviously didn't realize I was there, if my heart was working it would be broken by the fact that he just said that. "I... don't know what you're-" "You know exactly what I'm talking about." His body was shaking with anger.
"The Cullens are long gone. How are they to blame? And [Name] is still her how could you say that..." Her face falls. "They started all this by existing. Goddamn leeches-" "Jacob." Sam gives him and look and Jacob takes a breath, then he finally notices I'm there, rolling his eyes before going back to talking to Bella.
"I can't be friends with you anymore." He tells her. "Jake, I know I hurt you, I should have been more up-front but I needed you, I still do. I don't know what that means yet, but if you give me time-" "Stop. Don't it's not you." His humanity is still there, Sam is making him do this.
"It's not you it's me? God." Bella shakes her head. "It's true. I'm not good." He tries to find the right words. "You're wrong-" "It's doesn't matter. This is over." He tells her.
'"I can't take losing my best friend too." Bella's voice breaks.
"You already have-" "don't say that- you promised!" She tries to remind him, it was an effortless fight though.
"Go home, Bella. Don't come back." He runs away, joining the group to leave Bella standing in the rain.
I helped Bella into her truck and it felt like that day all over again. Only this time I was filled with a rage I've never felt before.
And when we got home I knew there was something wrong with me as Bella said the only words I never wanted to hear again. "[Name], you're really hot. Like burning." She mutters to me, backing away from my body. "I think you're hallucinating." I wave it off, lying to her is my best option right now. Charlie comes out and helps her inside. I sit in the truck, nervous about the steam with the rain again, it would prove that I'm heating up instead of being cold.
I can't turn. I can't.
I curl up in the truck seat, wanting to cry.

Poor book fan reacts to IWTV episode 1 🧛
Timeline in question. Daniel is an old man he always feared to be AND without his Armand🥺 and it's their 2 interview cause?... I don't understand, why you had to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place?
1910😒
God bless Jacob Anderson
Obsessively religious Paul check ✅
RIP Lestat's silky hair, you were forgotten by the showrunners, but never by me 🪦
Miss Lily who?
I must say all the actors do a good job but Sam Reid's acting is just on another level, he understood his character so well that it creates a problem. Every time he's not on the screen I'm getting bored. So far, he's the most charismatic character in this show. (I chose to ignore the hair yes ;-;)
"He's not white he's French" Louis—
Louis family at dinner was like
Tumblr media
Lots of people say they made Louis less sophisticated and more rough without a reason. I would say that's pretty canon Louis but they made him more...resolute? That's not a bad change ONLY if in the future Louis doesn't accuse Lestat of manipulating him. Cause book Louis was kinda suggestible and show Louis makes all his choices consciously.
And if you read books you know that LOUIS HAD SOME ANGER ISSUES when it came to Lestat so it's canon. I'm just upset he doesn't suffer enough, HE SHOULD SUFFER EVERY SECOND OF HIS LIFE it's his thing🤌🏻
"The Earth's a savage garden" NO YOU DUMB WHORE U WERE SUPPOSED TO SAY "Beauty was a Savage Garden" or "The mind of each man is a Savage Garden" YOU CHEAP COPYCAT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
I'm sorry I can't control it🙇🏼‍♀️
Sex scene was interesting. Everyone's talking about flying gays but I wanna talk about how Louis was eating Lily out and she just fell asleep. I know Lestat made her do it but if I were Louis I would cry😦
Tumblr media
Why does Louis react so casually to all Lestat's vampire shit? He's just like 🤷🏾"he's French" it's funny and all but why tho?
Paul's death was HILARIOUS 😭✋WHY DID THEY MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THIS my roommate laughed for like 3 minutes straight
Family blaming Louis check ✅
Thank God Lestat's back I was dying here. No wonder he's the main character in most books
Oh the final is honestly the best part of this episode. Lestat goes mad and violent so beautifully 😍 my little meow meow
Louis voice-over fucked up that scene. Like I'm not this stupid, I can understand what he's thinking right now without you explaining it to me thanks showrunners
My blood kink feels seen and appreciated 🥰
In conclusion: 7/10 - worth watching
Pros: Lestat's acting, Louis/ Lestat chemistry
Cons: old Daniel without his Armand; interview scenes (voice-over) pop up when we, as an audience, don't actually need them; not enough Lestat/Louis scenes where we could see their connection. It's a tv show, not a podcast, I don't wanna listen to what great moments they shared together, I WANNA ACTUALLY SEE IT OKAY? Like Louis was sitting in the car counting money with a satisfied smile bit the voice-over says he felt terrible 🥺 like WHERE

The Three Letters (Chapter 6)
Chapter 6: A Journey to the Past
This got more experimental than usual… Upsss?? I even had to divide the chapter in two because it was already too long XDDD So this is now a 15 chapters fic (for now lol). Don't worry, I'll finish it no matter how many chapters I add (it will take me a while because I have a life and that kind of stuff ehehehehe but I'll finish it, don't worry about it.)
So yeah… Jacob centered chapter (that's another reason this took so long to write… English is not my first language, and changing my writing to fit his speech is really challenging for me. It gives me room to be creative though, which is always a win).
Anyways~ Hope you enjoy it!!
Oh, almost forgot XD The canon dialogue is in bold and the inner thoughts in italic
Summary: Jacob gets absorbed by his own memory and, while Lara tells everyone how she managed to acquire the Atlas, his mind travels back in time to relive everything he felt while he stayed behind.
Words: 3268
Rating: Teens and Up All Chapters -> [link] Read in AO3 -> [link]
I suggest you read this one in my AO3, here I can't show the real format of the chapter.
----------------------------------
Just as Sofia predicted, once the whole dining and music is over, everyone reunites and sits forming a circle in the area they were dancing less than an hour ago, and, of course, Lara quickly becomes the center of attention.
The two girls sit together after Sofia secures a seat in the best lit area. Her father, to her surprise, doesn't follow them, and instead decides to sit right behind the opposite part of the circle, resting his weight onto the fence of the closest cabin, sitting alone in the dark where only Lara, who stands up to share her stories, has a clear view of him.
Jacob doesn’t know how to feel about the whole deal. Part of him is really curious about her past before she found them and all her adventures after she left Siberia a few years ago. But, another side of him, is truly worried she’s going to force herself to share something she’s not ready yet to tell.
He gives her a ‘you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to’ look right before she’s about to speak, to which she replies with a soft smile to reassure him that she’ll be okay.
Lara has shared with him bits and pieces of what led them to meet years ago, but even he is surprised to hear the full story, mesmerized by the way she shares the astounding achievements she accomplished like it’s nothing special, and heart broken by the inflection in the tone of her voice as she talks about Grim, Alex and especially about Roth, subtle enough to hide her true emotions from anyone else but not good enough to fool him too.
The moment she finishes the story, explaining their escape from the island, everyone starts to murmur all at once, commenting on their favorite bits with whoever is sitting right by their side.
Everyone except Jacob.
Jacob, who keeps processing everything she just said, quickly starts to worry not about her words, but for all the untold details they implied, wishing with all his heart to have misinterpreted some of the things that only him was able to catch, especially about the whole story of how she got her first kill.
He spirals into these thoughts for a while before someone’s voice raises among the whispers to ask Lara a direct question.
“And what about Sam? Is she okay now after all that?” Says one of the villagers, curious about the consequences of the experience on the poor girl that almost got sacrificed to a ghost japanese queen.
“Yeah…” Lara smiles and nods, but there’s a hint of hesitation on her words before she continues. “Or so I’m told… I haven’t seen her in a while.” She sighs and takes a moment before continuing. “ We cut ties even before I came here…” And redirecting her eyes to Jacob she adds: “...sometimes you have to sacrifice things for the greater good and I… I needed to keep going.”
Lara’s mind spirals for a bit into her own memories, trying to pinpoint the precise moment where her friendship with Sam started to crumble into pieces, tainting their shared and happy years with all the misery that followed them.
Nevertheless, after a few seconds of reflection, she manages to get back to her train of thoughts, shaking her head a couple of times in order to do so.
“And that’s what led me here, in the end.”
The whole village starts to cheer and clap at her sentence, which makes Lara smile a little, surprised by their reaction to being now featured as the center of the story.
“Well, I guess that you already know how this part goes, so I’ll skim through it…”
In less than a second she gets the negative reaction she was expecting, with everyone, especially the younger part of the group, wanting to hear the whole thing with as many details as possible, which makes her smile even more.
“Okay, okay… I’ll start from the beginning.”
And so she does.
There’s a general hush and anticipation when she starts talking, everyone paying all the attention possible to everything she’s saying. But this peaceful atmosphere, just as she imagines, doesn’t last for long.
The claps start as she begins to explain how she escaped from Konstantine’s prison, helping Jacob to get out of the cell where they met for the first time, and carry on as she tells them how he saved her life back in return after they fell into the freezing river.
All eyes go to Jacob as they keep cheering and clapping, making him break into laughter to finally stand and make a subtle bow before looking at Lara, which she returns right away.
Sofia blushes, and everyone giggles, as she explains how this one almost shot at her at the entrance of the village, the first time she tried to set foot on it, followed by a: “We’re lucky Jacob made it back just in time!” That an unknown villager shouts from the back of the crowd, making all of them laugh even more.
Lara spends a great deal time explaining the details of the high and lows of her journey, very amused by the way the they react to her story: gasping, cheering and laughing in an almost never ending loop, only occasionally interrupted by a thick silence that spreads for a few minutes whenever she tackles the more serious moments of her past.
Jacob listens with care back where is sitting, alone behind the whole crowd, paying attention to everything she says as his mind throws memories at him to complete what she’s left out of her speech on purpose.
So, when she tells them how they argued about the Atlas and went to look for it, even when he told her not to, his mind drifts away instantly to replay the part of the story she’s not telling them.
His side.
~
Jacob is seated at the end of the observatory stairs, his eyes fixed to the ground as his mind replays the whole conversation all over again.
“Then help me find it… Before they do!”Jacob hesitated for a second, with his heart shattering into pieces. Half of him wanting to aid her, half of him dreading the thought of it.
As he would come to regret later on, his fears were the ones to win the battle. “This is not your burden.”
That didn’t really happen… He says to himself, in a futile attempt of changing what he knows to be the truth.
“Of course it is! My father died for this.”Her words scared his heart more than he was expecting. So he chose his own even more carefully. More targeted.
He lets his head fall down between his knees, bringing his hands to the back of his neck.
He chose to hurt her. “You can’t fill the emptiness inside you, Lara.”
“It didn’t happen…” He whispers unconsciously, like his body thinks that the past will be miraculously rewritten by manifesting his wishes out loud on the present.
Nevertheless, his futile attempts to erase the last hour of his life are just that: futile. His only relief being brought to him in the shape of a memory, the last of his words to Lara, that now also apply to him, slithering through his mind to give an end to both stories.
“You can only set it free.”
“I can only set it free…” He replies to his past self, now in his present, knowing he doesn’t have any other option than to accept what’s happened and move forward.
But, after everything said and done, how could he?
“Father…”
The sudden appearance of a new voice interrupting his train of thoughts doesn’t startle Jacob, who has been expecting to have this conversation for a while now.
“I know… ”
His voice almost breaks as his mind quickly replays the highlight of their argument.
“You can’t fill the emptiness inside you, Lara.”
“How could you say those things to…”
His mind fights back one last time, torturing with the memory of the shock on Lara’s face after hearing his reproach.
“I’m gonna find it. With or without you.”
“I know.” He replies, in a much firmer tone of voice now, angry with her for risking her life because of him, and angry at himself for allowing it.
“You can pay it with me if you want to, but that’s not gonna get you anywhere.”
“...” Jacob sighs and takes a moment to calm down as he leans a little backwards, resting his weight on his elbows. “I know.” He admits one last time, raising his head to look at his daughter in an apologetic way. “I’m sorry.”
Sofía breaks a little smile and takes a seat by his side, looking for a few seconds at the last ray of sun setting on the horizon before speaking one more time.
“You know she will find out, right?” She finally tells him.
“I just wished…” He starts saying without thinking, mainly to himself, while turning his head to look at his daughter, sitting right next to him with a confused look in her eyes. “I mean… I know… She’s quite clever, isn’t she?” Jacob rectifies just in time, successfully masquerading his true feelings behind his usual ambiguity.
“Then what are you waiting for?”
He is confused for a second before understanding the switch on his daughter’s opinion and what she is truly trying to imply with her words.
“I thought you didn’t trust strangers…”
“Lara is no longer a stranger.” She replies, feeling a bit ashamed of how she acted and treated her at the beginning of their relationship. “And, to be honest, she may be the only one able to end this, once and for all.”
Jacob smiles faintly at his daughter’s words.
“Yeah, I think so too.”
“Then?”
“I honestly don’t know…” Jacob sighs. “But you’re right, I should tell her.”
He takes his time, still hesitating about it, but he finally stands up, with his daughter following him right after, and turns to look at her before asking what he’s been anxious to inquire.
“Do you know where I may find her?”
“Erm…” Sofia’s expression drastically freezes in a matter of seconds. “You’ll see…” She attempts to evade his question, without any success.
“You didn’t tell her…” He barely whispers, shocked by what he’s fearing.
Jacob closes the distance between them as fast as he’s able, grabbing his daughter by the arms in the process.
“Tell me you didn’t tell her!”
Her father’s choice of words startles Sofia, who never in her entire life has seen him raise his voice or react to something like this.
“I...” She doesn’t know how to answer, shocked by the tinge of anger on Jacob’s sentence. Nevertheless, he doesn’t need to hear it to know what she is hesitant to say out loud.
Reality hits Jacob harder than expected, piercing a void in his heart only to be filled by fear and rage.
“You send her to face the deadless, on her own.” The dread of this thought seems to wound his soul in a way he’s never experienced before, feeling like an invisible thread is attached to it, and an unknown force that keeps pulling it with all its strength in an attempt to rip all his being inside out.
Sofía finally manages to recover from the initial shock, and quickly stands her ground, stating what she really thinks about the topic that brought about their entire argument.
“I didn’t send her anywhere, father.” She replies, feeling a bit hurt by his words. “And, no… I didn’t try to stop her either.” Jacob closes his eyes for a second and takes a deep breath, slowly releasing his daughter from his grasp. “Besides, I think you already know I wouldn't have been able to do so even if I wanted to.”
Silence fills the air for a few seconds.
Sofia is now the one taking a moment to clear her mind after saying all this, trying to be understanding of her father's situation, thinking that Lara discovering their secret is what keeps him uneasy, and unaware of the true feelings that are now causing Jacob’s heart to crumble at the mention of her name. Tortured by the thought that she’s is now in danger because of him.
“I know what you must be feeling…”
You do not. His mind answers, too deep into his suffering to keep denying the true feelings that hide behind it.
“I know why you’re upset.”
You do not. He thinks again, but he nods, not ready yet to share the truth with anyone else.
“And Lara… Lara is strong. And wise.”
That manages to get a subtle smile out of him, followed by a second nod.
“She can handle it… And I think she really wants to help us.”
“...”
Another deep breath.
“Your… Our secret, will be safe with her.”
“...” Jacob nods a third time, following his gesture with a quick hug. “I know…” He finally answers in the middle of it. “I know.”
After the embrace is over, Sofia spends a couple of seconds analyzing his expression and, completely fooled by his now peaceful demeanor, she smiles at him and asks if we would like to help her fortify the main village.
“Levi has offered to help me, but if you want to join me…”
“I’d love to…” He replies with a faint smile.
“But?”
The fact that she knows him so well gets a chuckle out of him.
“But… I have other matters to attend to.” He lies. “I am sorry.” He lies again. “Do you mind if I join you later, once I’ve finished?”
“Sure.”
He despises not being honest, especially with his family but, right now, he needs to be alone.
He needs to think, and his daughter, who maybe senses more than she’s able to understand, quickly grants his wishes, giving him a peck on the cheek and walking away, leaving Jacob with his fear, his guilt and his feelings, along with his never ending stream of desperate thoughts.
Forgive me, Sofia… He apologizes now that she’s gone, while he starts walking without a fixed route, hating the fact that he’s deceiving her by keeping the cruel truth to himself. But… I cannot tell you… At least, not yet. I… I don’t even understand…
He does.
“I…”
And he cannot pretend he doesn’t. Not anymore. Not after today.
I…
Even his thoughts choke when he thinks of it, unaware there were feelings left for him to discover after so many years and so many lives.
Another deep breath.
“...”
Jacob keeps walking, with the darkness as his only companion, letting his feet guide him wherever they want to go.
Why now?
He asks, more to the heavens than to himself, mortified by the cruel timing he thinks the Lord has chosen for this to happen.
A part of him is almost expecting to get a reply to the question, unconsciously waiting for minutes to hear something in the wind as he keeps walking away while headed nowhere.
But it does not arrive.
It never arrives.
So he tries again.
“Why her?”
His voice disappears into the air along with his question. This time around although, he is not expecting an answer, and perhaps, or better said most likely, it’s because he already knows it.
After minutes of wandering, without a set course or route, he finally stops walking and, even if he hasn’t been paying attention to the path taken, now that he’s there he’s perfectly aware of where he’s been headed since the beginning.
After all, it is his favorite place in the entire world.
Despite the darkness, Jacob knows to perfection where everything is. Every little plant, every little rock. The hidden path that leads to the rim of the cliff, which he takes without hesitation, as he’s done countless times before, sitting on the edge, with his legs hanging from it, as he rests all his weight back and relaxes a little, taking in the views that hold such a special place inside his heart.
The murmur of the river and the thundering waterfall, crashing in the otherwise silent night, is a well known melody for him. A masterful composition that always manages to calm him down no matter the problem he needs to face.
That’s another first for Jacob. For, this time around, his thoughts, slowly but surely, are becoming louder than this cherished symphony, flooding his mind with too much noise to let him hear anything else.
The glimmers of light that sparkle in the water, which he usually examines for hours, caused by the stars and the moon that shine brighter than ever on the dark indigo sky are not enough, for the first time ever, to catch his attention or, better said, distract him, from what’s really eating him alive.
Instead, what used to be his sanctuary, seems to be turning in a new weapon for the universe to torture him even further, in which everything he ever thought to be beautiful or mesmerizing, is now just a reminder of each and every inch of all her being.
He cannot look at the dark shimmering river without picturing her sparkling umber eyes, or hear the water crashing against the rocks without imagining her voice and her laugh, nor feeling the air run through his hair without remembering hers flowing in the wind.
Why her? He asked before, and asks again, despite knowing way too well why.
“Why her…?” He murmurs now, but with a different tone, questioning the question instead of its subject. “Her indeed… Her.”
Jacob laughs at the thought of it.
How not?
How? He finally surrenders, and all his feelings break loose.
How could someone meet her and walk away?
A deep breath in, a deep breath out.
How could anyone think of anything after thinking of her.
His eyelids fall, his heartbeat hikes.
How can they look away when she’s on sight?
How can they move? How can they breathe?
Right hand on the ground.
Left one on his knee.
How can my soul not fall apart?
How does one fight his own heart, if it’s not really meant to be?
How can I do more than crash, and burn and fall again, right at her feet?
~
The memory is so vivid that it takes him a little to hear the loud sound of people reacting to the end of Lara’s story about the Atlas, muffled by the reminder of that unforgettable night, where he realized he could no longer deny that he had fallen in love as never before in his life.
She stops talking just in time to see him starting to come back, taking the opportunity, now that the crowd speaks and laughs, to set her focus on Jacob for the first time in a while.
Him, on the other side, still needs a few more seconds to catch up.
The sound of the river gradually transforms back into laughter, the crash of the water into their comments, and his mind finally returns to reality, after its enthralling journey to the past, finding now, in his present, his only reason to come back and to keep going.
His eyes quickly search for hers, which are already waiting for him, falling again into that mesmerizing umber glow, as he did so long ago, and letting their gaze melt into one another as they both get lost into the other’s sight.
Way too enchanted to look away.
Way too in love even try.

Our Days in New York: Chapter 8
Hi there! It's been a while… To read my excuses for not updating in ages you can go to the end of the chapter. Enjoy!
December 13th, 1926
Newt made sure to rush through all the feedings that morning. It was Tina's first day of work, and he wanted to see her before she left. Queenie would make a wholesome breakfast, and Tina would be radiant, talkative, and bursting with enthusiasm. He didn't want to miss it.
His surprise was big when he came out of the case and found Tina sitting at the table alone. She had turned at hearing the sound of the latches, but her gaze fell to her coffee again as she murmured her greetings.
At first glance, he knew something wasn't right. It was on how she sat, on how she held the cup tightly with both hands, and in the way she carefully avoided looking at him. Only when he came close enough to the table did he notice her eyes were swollen. Even though she wasn't crying, she had been. Or maybe she hadn't slept at all.
“Tina, what's wrong?” he asked softly.
“Oh, it's nothing,” she answered, voice strained. “A bad night, that's all.”
He knew it would be prudent to let her be, but he just couldn't. She had that headache the day before, what if she was ill? He pushed a little more. “Did you receive any bad news today? Are you feeling unwell?”
“It's...” Tina sent a nervous look to the bedroom door and gulped. She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times before emitting any sound. When she finally spoke, it was in a murmur. “It's about Queenie.”
“What happened to her?” Newt slid into the chair across from her, his concern growing.
She hesitated. It was like she wanted to tell him, but thought she should not. “We talked last night. About Jacob.”
“Oh.”
“I woke up in the middle of the night and she wasn't in bed. She was crying on the sofa." Tina explained. "She didn't want to disturb me. I bet she has been doing that all these days.”
“I knew she was sad, it's just...I didn't think it had affected her that much. I thought this was just something of the moment, that it would pass, but after last night..." her voice was beginning to break. "She cared so much about Jacob, she told me so. I suppose I should have known how serious she was about him. She is so sad.”
“And you?”
“What?” the question startled her, and she eyed him with suspicion. She had been behaving like that since the day before. Jumpy, defensive for a reason he couldn't fathom, and much quieter. There were times of the day when she seemed to forget it and became cheerful again, but some invisible trigger always made her troubled again. And it was odd because since her reinstatement she had been more affectionate towards him as if deciding she could trust him.
Tina had talked about her concern for Queenie, but he hadn't observed anything in the legilimens attitude that could cause that impact the day before.
“Are you alright?” he clarified.
“Me?" she blinked, confused by the question. "Well, I'm...I feel so... " she took a deep breath before continuing. “It breaks me not being capable of protecting the ones I love. I can't see a solution. Jacob doesn't remember her, or any of us. Even if the situation was different, I couldn't encourage this. It would be dangerous for both of them. But I can't expect Queenie to get over this soon. I haven't seen her cry so much since she was little.”
Her coffee must have grown cold long ago, for the cup was still full, but Tina wasn't drinking it. She seemed to have forgotten she even had it in her hands.
“I've been too wrapped up over my job and with...” she bit her lip, stopping herself at the last minute, and leaving the sentence incomplete. “I should have paid more attention to her.”
She looked about to cry, and he felt distressed at not being able to prevent it. One of her hands had separated from the cup and was resting on the table. He had the strange impulse to take it between his and hold it.
For most creatures touching was soothing, they used it for reassurance, but in cases when they found themselves in a vulnerable state, it could make them react harshly, retract, attack even. What would Tina do? It was not a time to experiment. Still, the hand was right there, so close. He could just reach for it if he dared.
Tina produced a small hiccup and brought him back to his senses. No, he should not touch her. Tina was going through a delicate time, doing that would probably startle her again.
“Don't say that, it's not your fault,” he muttered at last. “You've had this on your mind all week; Queenie wasn't ready to talk yet. There's not much you could do about it.”
Tina discreetly wiped a tear. “I don't know...”
They stayed in silence, Tina trying to recover composure, and Newt trying to find a way to help her feel better. “I wish I could tell you something useful.”
“That's what I said to Queenie. Maybe there's nothing useful to be said.” she shrugged, sadly. “I don't know what else I can do for her. And I can't miss work today; she shouldn't either. Her shift starts at nine, so I'm letting her sleep a bit more.”
“I'll keep an eye on her until she goes to work, don't you worry,” he promised, sounding more sure than he felt. If he couldn't help Tina, he doubted he would be of more use to Queenie. But he would try his best for his friends. “I'll try to think of something to cheer her up. I can't assure you I will come out with anything of course...”
Tina's eyes shone with unshed tears, but she smiled at him. “You’re so good.”
It seemed that somehow he had managed to say the right thing. He wondered at his good luck.
“Thank you for listening, Newt.”
They stared at each other for a moment, Tina's expression one of undeniable fondness. He carefully saved it in his memory. He wanted to say something else. "You can count on me." or "I'm here whenever you need to talk." But as it was the rule these days, it was not long before she cast her eyes away from him, and her smile faltered.
“I should go wake Queenie,” One of her hands went to fix her hair, and as she stood up he got to see her flushed face. She was nervous, self-conscious. Ashamed, even. Why, though? Did she regret sharing her problems with him? Had his gaze become too insistent and was making her uncomfortable? He watched her fidgeting with her cup, her hands unable to decide whether to leave it on the table or carry it.
“No need, I'm awake already.”
Queenie had appeared by the door frame without being noticed.
Tina went to her side immediately. “How are you feeling? I thought it would be better for you to get some rest, that's why I didn't call you earlier.”
“Speaking of getting some rest, you look like you stayed awake all night.” the legillimens commented, her hand touching Tina's pale cheek. “Don't worry about me, Teen. I'll be fine, I promise. I feel a lot better now that I'd let it all out.”
The statement didn't convince her sister, who remained anxious.
“I'm telling you the truth.” she insisted. “Now, go wash your face. You shouldn't be late on your first day back.”
To Newt's surprise, Tina didn't insist and did as she was told. Once she was out of his sight, his attention focused on Queenie. In some way, he understood her. As much as he treasured the sisters' friendship, he also felt Jacob's loss. And unlike Tina, he had come to know the baker quite well.
“I know you do,” Queenie said. “That's alright sweetheart, I'll be fine.”
Tina came back, announcing she was off to work, still looking unsettled. Queenie fixed her coat lapels and gave her a hug, wishing her good luck. He wanted to do the same, but she marched to the door with a quick “Bye.”, barely sparing him another glance.
He felt confused and slightly hurt. She had smiled at him, said he had been of help, and a minute later she wouldn't look at him. What had he missed? Was she mad at him?
“She's not mad at you, quite the opposite.”
Newt turned to find Queenie staring at him in concentration, taking in all the work his mind was doing, no doubt.
“Quite the opposite?”
“She's had a tough year,” she explained, sitting in the place Tina had occupied minutes before, and handing him a cup of tea. “And she's not used to people being like that with her.”
“Being how?” he asked, disoriented.
“Well, supportive. Caring,” she continued, her tone placid. “Teen is far more reserved than you imagine. It might be hard to believe because she speaks so much to you. Everything has been getting worse for her for the past months, losing her job and all. Now she has her promotion, and she's made friends with you. She's getting used to the changes; making peace with lots of things. She's got so much on her mind.”
Queenie’s gaze was intent, as if she was trying to suggest something. He didn't get it.
“I should go get changed. What I'm saying is... you're doing nothing wrong. She thinks the world of you.” she added. “Just have some patience. And drink your tea, it'll get cold.”
With that, Queenie got up, leaving him even more confused.
-------------------
Dear Theseus,
I apologize for my delay in answering your last letter, but I'm sure you're aware by now that my trip to New York ended up being much more eventful than expected, and my attention has been elsewhere.
Looking at the paper, Newt thought it was quite alright. It had taken him half an hour to come up with a good beginning for his letter: He didn't want Theseus to believe he felt as if he owed him an explanation, but he didn't want to be impolite either. As annoying as it was to have his brother trying to meddle in his life from time to time, he knew Theseus had good intentions. He kept going.
I'm staying with some friends. One of them is an auror, she has helped me to get all the right permissions for some creatures I brought with me and oriented me as to MACUSA's investigation. Her name is Tina, she's quite bright…
There he made a stop. He shouldn’t get carried away with that. Spilling all those details would invite Theseus to ask questions, and he wasn't sure he wanted to go through that. His friendship with Tina was far too personal to share with his brother. No, he better kept it quiet. He crossed out all that last paragraph and started it again.
I've reprogrammed my journey back to England, in hopes to collaborate with MACUSA's investigation. Nothing to worry about, I'm staying with some friends (and out of trouble) until then.
Newt
That was much better. Contented with his work, he opened one of the desk drawers in search of an envelope, to leave the missive ready to be sent. That would placate Theseus until he got back, in a couple of days.
The thought of leaving had started to make him anxious. Nothing prevented him from coming back to New York in the future. Of course, MACUSA considering him a menace could be a problem, but the real question was: Would the sisters want to see him again? Would Tina receive him in such a warm way?
He felt a light weight on his leg, and became aware of a pair of misty eyes on him.
“Dougal.”
The demiguise climbed onto the desk, and let his caretaker pet him. He had fed him half and hour ago, but the creature seemed to perceive whenever he needed support.
“I wish you could talk,” Newt murmured, more to himself than to Dougal. “You could tell me if you see another trip to America in my future. Or some news from Tina.”
He could always come up with an excuse innocent enough to keep in touch. Friends wrote each other letters, didn't they? And Tina had said on more than one occasion that she was his friend. Following that logic, perhaps it would be acceptable for them to correspond. But how was that arranged? Should he suggest it? Ask for her permission to write to her once in a while? Should he write without further ado and pray for her to answer?
His trips had given him freedom, and he delighted in that. It meant no social ties, no commitments or obligations to be placed upon him. He adored this kind of life, far from the crowded Ministry desks. But he didn't want to sever ties this time. How did someone express their wish to be part of another person's life?
In any case, his most immediate concern was his current situation with Tina. While Queenie had assured him she wasn't mad at him, she seemed to be hinting at something else; something he hadn't caught on.
He was convinced by now that the legilimens wouldn't hesitate to tell him anything to his face if necessary, especially if she thought he was at fault. The most possible reason for her to be so cryptic must be Tina's privacy.
Queenie didn't only know things about Tina; she also knew things about him. Newt had noticed her teasing smiles every time she caught him staring at her older sister, or thinking about her, which happened with increasing frequency. Not that he could help it; she was one of the most complex and fascinating creatures he had ever met. Observing her, noticing every small detail about her was becoming second nature to him. He was learning to tell, just by looking at the twist of her brows, or the curve of her lips how she was feeling, if she was happy, or amused, or worried, or irritated. He knew how she liked her coffee, the things that made her laugh, and the ones that scared her.
Maybe Tina had become aware of that too, be it by her sister or by her own observation, and it was the reason for her trouble. Yes, it had to be that. She had no doubt interpreted his stares the wrong way. Or even worse, she had interpreted them correctly, and she didn't know how to get rid of the unwanted attention. She wasn't mad, but she was embarrassed? Was that what Queenie had meant? Was she trying to prevent him from any further embarrassment?
The truth was, he didn't even know what he could do about it, or what was it that he wanted from Tina. Her friendship. Her company, her regard, her admiration. Her full attention. In which plain of the human conventions would that place them? What would be correct for a person to do in that situation?
Even if Tina hadn't noticed this “admiration” already, she would certainly do in time. She was too smart not to. And that placed him in a very awkward position.
He wished he had someone to get advice from. Jacob would know what to do, he thought while caressing Dougal's fur. He seemed to understand people (and women) quite well, and he wouldn't laugh at his awkwardness. If only he had him around, he could ask.
What would Jacob do?
--------------------
Tina appeared downstairs earlier than expected, in a more placid mood, but silent and thoughtful. Newt was busy feeding the occamies. Instead of rolling up her sleeves and lending a hand, she sat by the nest and answered his questions about her day, commenting in passing that Queenie had gone out shopping with some of the office girls.
“She is in better spirits then.”
Tina shrugged. “Or at least she's making an effort.”
The niffler appeared out of nowhere and found his way onto the witch's lap. While her body seemed to relax a little bit as she petted the creature, her expression kept restless. She wanted to talk about something. He would have liked to ask, but he was decided to not give her any reasons to be uncomfortable. If he had overstepped, if he had upset her by being too informal, he would be more careful. Fortunately, his curiosity wouldn’t be left unsatisfied for long.
“I don't understand Queenie,” Tina spat out all of the sudden, sounding rather guilty. She seemed to be in need to confide this to someone. “I mean... She knew Jacob for such a short time. She talks as if she could see her entire life with him, but they barely got to spend any time together. I know Queenie can see more of people than I ever could, even without her legilimency, but still.”
“Well, I suppose sometimes when people go through a lot together they form an attachment, regardless of the time they've spent in each other’s company.” Newt reflected. As soon as he said it, he realized it may appear he was talking about the two of them. After all, they'd known each other for a week. He couldn't be trusted to hold a normal conversation.
“That's true, I guess.” Tina agreed calmly, gaze still fixed on a distant spot in front of her. Either she didn’t connect the comment to them, or she chose not to understand it. “I didn't get to know him. It's strange, given he's so important to my sister. He looked like a good man, though. Queenie says he has a beautiful mind, and that's a big compliment considering all the things she has to hear from guys on daily bases.”
“He is a good man,” Newt agreed, relieved by the change of topic. “Jacob wanted to open a bakery. Pastries make people happy, he said. He's working at a canning factory and he despises it. He was in the bank to get a loan, and was rejected because he had no collateral to offer.”
“That explains the case full of pastries.” she half-smiled. “He and Queen could have been a good match indeed.”
“I think so. I observed them when we had dinner together. They are the sort of people who everybody likes.” he said, recalling the situation. It seemed like it had been a lifetime ago. “It always sparks a scientific interest within me, because I don't know how to do it.”
“Me neither.” she chuckled. Then she got serious again. “I suppose I could check on him once in a while. Jacob. See if he needs anything. I just don't want to encourage Queenie to do the same.”
“Do you think she'll try to go see him?”
“She might.”
“As long as they don't interact it wouldn't be a problem, would it?”
“Newt, she cannot!” she exclaimed, her gaze becoming hard and reproachful. For a second he could see the cross, bossy woman that had arrested him a week ago. His eyes must have expressed that because she immediately looked regretful. “I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you like that. You're trying to help. I'm sorry.”
“It's fine. All these American laws are still not making sense to me.”
“You can be sent to jail for fraternizing with no-majs. We could both lose our jobs. And then, what would we do?” Tina sighed, the thought alone seeming too terrifying to dwell much on it. “We can't afford that, it's out of the question. But it's not just that...”
“Jacob doesn't remember her; he doesn't remember Queenie even exists. She's aware of that, I know, but it's not the same as seeing it with her own eyes. Imagine what it would feel like. I don't want her to suffer more than necessary.”
“It’s not in your hands to prevent her from feeling unhappy right now,” Newt interjected. “The only thing you can do is be supportive, as you've been doing.”
“I know, I…” she muttered, frustrated. “If only there was a way of giving her some sort of closure, to assure her that Jacob will be fine.”
“We may be able to make that possible.”
“How?”
“I've been giving it some thought. I can provide the collateral for Jacob's bakery.”
“You're thinking about giving him money?" she asked, pondering his solution. "I have some notion of the no-maj currency, but how do we know how much he needs?”
“Not money, I'm rather short of that myself," Newt confessed. "I happen to know what could work as collateral.” He leaned forward and took an occamy eggshell from the nest. “These are pure silver. I don’t think the bank will reject them, though they may be curious about their origin.”
Tina looked impressed. “That's... quite smart. And very generous of you.”
Her approval made him blush. “Jacob is my friend. He was of so much help to me, if there's something I can do for him in return, I have to do it.”
“I think it's a remarkable initiative. But how do you get the occamy eggshells to Jacob?”
“I have an idea.” he confided. “I'll need your help.”
“Count on me.” she nodded, eager.
“And we have to tell Queenie.”
There she hesitated.
“She's gonna know anyway. My occlumency is still terrible.” he reasoned. “Besides, I think she has the right to decide whether she wants to be involved or not.”
“Alright.” she agreed, reluctant. He could tell she didn't like it at all. “We'll talk to Queenie, then.”
“It's the best we can do,” he said, making to stand up. “Shall we see if she's back? We can settle this now.“
“Wait.” Tina blurted, gesturing with her arm to stop him from leaving. “I want to hear all about that plan of yours, but first...” she put a strand of hair behind her ear, tense once again. “I wanted to ask you something.”
“About Jacob?”
“No, about you” she admitted. “I believe it may be too personal, so you don't have to tell me if you don't want to.”
Newt couldn't help a slight panic. He couldn't imagine what could be so personal for her to be so hesitant to ask.
“It's about Credence. About the obscurus.” she started. “The department has assigned me to tie the loose ends given my... involvement in the case.”
“That's good news. You're the right person to do it, no doubt.”
Despite the crudeness of the topic, a small smile graced her lips at his comment. “I've been thinking...If Grindelwald wanted Credence as a weapon, wouldn't it be possible for him to find another child with the same capacity? I don't believe he was interested in Credence particularly. What I mean is, if there's a chance of that happening and I have to interfere, I need to know more. I need to be prepared to take the right course of action.”
Now he knew where she was going. “You want me to tell you about my experience with obscurus.”
She nodded. “When you told Jacob and me about it, it seemed to be a difficult topic. I understand if you don't want to talk about it.”
“It's difficult. That little girl... it was heartbreaking.” he stammered. “I'm no expert on the subject, by any means, but I can share my limited knowledge if it's of any use. You know what causes it, and what it can do. Going from there, what do you want to know?”
“When you talked about the girl you met in Sudan, you said you tried to save her. How?”
Newt took his time to meditate on his answer. When he spoke, he did it slowly, minding his words. “There's a spell. It's complicated to perform and requires the host to be in a particular state for it to work. The obscurus ends up consuming the host. When you try to extract it...it fights. It was one of the most terrifying things I've ever witnessed. The force is too powerful for an adult wizard to control, imagine what it can do to a child.”
He stood up, and walk a few steps away. “She was dying. I befriended her, and offer to try and cure her, but it was too late. I don't know, maybe I couldn't have made it work either way. I don't believe I'll ever forget it, or stop wondering if there was something else I could have done for her.”
“Don't say that, you tried your best. At least, she knew that someone cared.” she comforted him. “But I get how you feel, I’ve been thinking the same about Credence. If I could have done something else.”
“I'm afraid when it comes to Credence I can't tell you much more of what you already know. To be honest I'm quite in the dark myself. I've never seen anything like it. Credence possessing some sort of control over that power, surviving this long with it... it's unbelievable.”
“I didn't expect you to have an answer,” she assured him. “Every piece of information could be important. Thank you for telling me all that.”
Newt nodded. He had never told that story before and remembering it sadden him.
“I wish I had realized before. It didn’t occur to me that we could be dealing with an obscurus.” Tina murmured, staring at the niffler again. “If only had I known, I may have prevented Credence's death.”
“If he died.”
Tina looked up at him in shock. “What do you mean?” she asked, disbelieving. “Newt you were there, you saw it. That's not...”
“Why not?” he retorted. “We saw the kind of wreckage it created in the city. A bunch of aurors is not likely to match that force.”
“You're implying he may have survived?” she wanted to be sure she had understood.
“I can't assure that. But it's at least, possible.”
Newt contemplated Tina trying to digest all the new information, and knew he had given the witch something else to be worried about.
“I guess I have a lot of work ahead of me.” was her only comment.
Ok, I'm not gonna promise to update soon, because I said that last time and it's been months. Sorry. This year so far has been quite bad, and I couldn't find the energy or motivation to sit and finish this. Also, the last movie was a terrible disappointment for me. I didn't like it at all, so it didn't help fuel my imagination. Despite all that, I've loved working on this little piece these past months, and I want to give it a conclusion. This story is going to have three or four chapters more, as I had initially planned. I have a draft of what I want, but it needs waaay more work to be worth anybody's time. I don't know how long is gonna take, but I promise you this: I'll finish this story. If you're still reading, thank you!

Temptation Pt14
Temptation Masterlist
New York 6 Months Later
Edward left us months ago, we have no idea where he is or if he's even ok.  I'm sat in our living room reading a book cuddled into Emmett who is watching the TV. Alice is talking to Jasper and Esme when I hear her gasp. I quickly put my book down and look at Alice who looks sad
"What is it?" Esme asks
"It's Bella. I need to go and make sure she's ok"
"We'll all go" Thomas says getting up from his seat by Rosalie
"No, just me"
"Alice you are not going anywhere on your own. I'll go with you" I say getting up
"Let's go" Alice and I head to her car, Emmett and Jasper behind us
"Don't get hurt" Emmett tells me
"We wont, I promise" I kiss Emmett goodbye, Alice doing the same to Jasper and we get into the car, putting our seat belts on. Alice tells me that in her vision she saw Bella jump into a river or something and doesn't see her get pulled out.
We arrive at Bella's house, but she isn't home. We enter the house looking around when we hear the door open then shut. I smell Bella and the wolf smell on her. The light turns on and Bella jumps seeing Alice and I, both of us feeling relived that she is ok
"Alice?" Bella cries hugging her tight "Kat" Bella then hugs me
"Bella, thank god your ok" I say still in shock
"I'm sorry I, I just can't believe your here"
"Would you like to explain to us how you're alive?"
"What?"
"I saw a vision of you. You jumped off a cliff. Why in the hell would you try and kill yourself? what about Charlie?" Alice raised her voice
"I didn't try to kill myself. I was cliff jumping. Recreationally. It was fun"
"You look cold Bella, go sit and I'll make you a hot drink" Alice and Bella move to the couch as I make a drink. I bring it over to Bella
"Thanks" I sit next to Bella
"I have never met anyone more prone to life threatening idiocy" Alice exclaims
"Did you, did you tell him?" Bella asks
"No. He only calls in once every few months" I sigh
"He said he wants to be alone" Alice finishes
"Bella, what is that god awful wet dog smell?" Alice asks
"It's probably me, or well Jacob. He's kinda a werewolf"
"Bella" Alice scoffs "werewolves are not good company to keep"
"Hey" I nudge Alice
"Except you" I roll my eyes hearing the door open then the smell of wolf enters my nose. I look over and see Jacob
"Oh my god" I rise from seat
"Speak for yourself" Jacob says, I'm not really able to take my eyes of Jacob, knowing he's my great grandson and we are now sworn enemies hurts "I had to see you were safe"
"I though you couldn't protect me here"
"Guess I don't care"
"Well I'm not going to hurt her, or Kat"
"No your just harmless Cullen's" this stings a little. Yes he doesn't know who I am to him, and I wanted it this way, but a part of me wishes I could tell him "anyway I'm taking about the other bloodsucker who tried to kill Bella because of you"
"Victoria" I frown
"Yeah she's been around" Bella nods
"I didn't see her. I didn't see you get pulled out of the water either. I can't see past you and your pack of mutts"
"Alice" I scold. She gives me a sorry look before scowling at Jacob
"Don't get me upset"
"Hey stop" Bella interjects getting up from the couch. She stands between Jacob and Alice
"We'll give you a minute" Alice takes my hand
"Nice to meet you Jacob" I smile at him as he looks at me confused
"Hey your both not going anywhere, your coming back right"
"Of course Bella" Alice pulls me out of the house and we wait by her car.
While outside Alice has a phone call from Jasper and Alice has a vision of Edward going to the Volturi. We run back inside
"Bella, it's Edward. He thinks you're dead. Rosalie told him why we came here"
"Why wouldn't you let me speak to him?" Bella yells
"He didn't ask for you!" Jacob yells back
"I don't care!"
"Bella, look at me" I turn her body "he's going to go to the Volturi"
"He's wants to die too"
"We need to save him"
"I know, get in the car" we run out of the house, Bella quickly talks to Jacob who tries to stop her from coming with us. She gets in the back seat while Alice is in the drivers seat and I'm in the passengers side
"Please Bella" Jacob sticks his head into the car window "just, stay here. For Charlie, for me"
"I have to go"
"I'm begging you, please"
"Goodbye Jacob" he pulls his head out of the car in defeat. Alice starts the car and we shoot off to the airport to fly to Italy.

Mackenzie is Rushed to Hospital.
Mackron fanfic.
Mack was in the bar having a pint after he and Chas had given the twins their six o'clock feed.
"Hopefully they won't wake before the next feed" said Chas as Mack started coughing.
"You ok?" asked Chas as Mack winced.
"Not really" said Mack as he coughed up blood. "I feel faint" he said just before he passed out.
"What's going on on this pub" said Jimmy "You trying to scare the customers off? He's the second one this week that's passed out on a pool of blood"
"Shut up Jimmy and help me get him up" said Chas.
"He doesn't look too good" said Jacob who was sitting with Victoria "You'd better call an ambulance"
"I can't go with him Jacob" said Chas "I've got the twins and Isla and Eve to care for"
"I'll go with him" said Jacob The staff know me and I'll get him seen to quickly"
"You're a life saver Jacob" said Chas.
"I'll stay and help you Chas til Jacob gets back" said Victoria. "Bob and Wendy have got Harry today and he's having a sleepover"
Jacob arrived back at the pub after being at the hospital for what seemed like hours.
"Mack had a collapsed lung due to Aaron kicking him" Jacob explained "He's really badly bruised Chas but they've reinflated his lung but they are keeping him in for a couple of days"
"What about the blood he coughed up?" asked Chas.
"It was from the beating but they gave him scans and apart from the lung and the bruises he has no other injuries. He'll be fine don't worry" said Jacob.
"What has Aaron turned into?" Chas asked Charity who had just called in as Chas had called a family meeting.
"Well it isn't the first time he's put Mackenzie in hospital" said Charity. "What's the meeting about?"
"I don't know what to do about Isla and the twins" said Chas "I can't look after them and Isla and Eve. And I've got a pub to run. I'm on my own remember. I'm going to have to ring social services as I have some health issues as well"
"Don't do ring social services Chas" said Gail "Mack will be heart broken"
"Gail's right Chas" said Charity "Me and Gail will be ok. you have some time off. I'll do extra shifts so you just see to the kids"
"Those poor kids. Their mum and dad are in hospital and I might have no choice in the end about ringing social services" said Chas feeling guilty as the rest of the family gathered. "Aaron is going to be in serious trouble over this"
"Well if they both die and he kills a third person he'll be classed as a serial killer" said Gail.
"Oh cheer me up why don't you" said Chas.
Most of the family had arrived and Chas told them she had some news.
"Oh look who the cats dragged in" said Charity as Aaron arrived.
"Now you're all here I can share with you that I have been diagnosed with cancer" said Chas tearfully looking at Aaron who avoided her gaze and promptly left.
"God I could slap him" said Cain.
"No you won't. We"ll all rally round and help Chas" said Moira.
"Chas you can't look after those babies with this hanging over your head. Can't you ring Lucy's parents to help?" asked Charity.
"They are spending time with Lucy. She's really ill and I don't want to bother them" Chas explained.
"Look me and Jacob can have the twins tonight" said Victoria "And we'll see what happens tomorrow. So put social services on hold for now"
"And Cain and I will take Isla" said Moira.
"Those poor babies" said a tearful Chas 'Isla's been pushed from pillar to post and now little Lillia and Iona"
"Aaron should help" said Charity "Isla is his daughter after all"
"I don't want to get mixed up in their domestic troubles" said Chas."This fall out was about custody apparantly"
"Don't worry Chas" said Vicorira as she put the twins in their buggy to take them to hers "It will turn out fine you'll see"
"I hope you're right" said Chas.
"I'm staying here tonight. No arguments" said Charity. "Youre not dealing with this on your own. We'll sort something out in the morning"

i've had this in my drafts for weeks and i can't sleep so i finished it. was supposed to be angsty, i think, but this is what it turned into. // slice of life, friends to lovers au?, confession, mentions of alcohol, minor swearing, you have a ginormous crush on kevin moon, wc: no idea i wrote this on my phone
Tumblr media
[3:17am]
"Sunwoo?"
You blink at your phone screen, reaffirming the caller ID before putting the device back to your ear. "You better have a good excuse calling me at 3AM."
The person on the other end sighs, followed by a brief pause. "Y/N, I need you to come pick up Sunwoo." His words are a little slurred, but there's no mistaking the soft timbre of Kevin's voice. "He's shitfaced, both Sangyeon and I have drank too much to drive him home, and Jacob is leaving for Paris in the morning so he left like, 2 hours ago."
It takes a second for the request to sink in, sleep still riddling your brain. "You know I don't have a car."
"Sangyeon's parked around the corner," Kevin says, sucking in a deep breath in between words. "Get a taxi here, you can drive his car home."
"Kevin-,"
He lets out a little whine, stretching out your name as he calls you through the phone. "Please? We-," another pause, "I didn't realise we'd been here for so long and we don't have enough cash on us for all three of us to take a taxi home."
You sigh, throwing aside your blanket and rubbing your eyes in despair. "Fine. Okay. Send me your location. I'll be right there."
Kevin sighs in relief, uttering a few thank yous before pinging your phone with the address. "You're an angel, see you soon."
Silently cursing him, you change into jeans, too lazy to change the other half of your pajamas and hoping no one will notice. If the taxi driver does, he doesn't say anything, which you are thankful for.
Sangyeon's sitting on a low wall when you arrive, his feet dangling mere centimeters from the ground. He snaps his head up at the sound of a car door slamming, and you can see his smile widen when he realises it's you. "Heeeeey, what are you doing here?" he asks, half in surprise, half in earnest.
"I'm here to drive you home, you idiot," you reply, looking around to see if you can spot the other boys. "Hand me your keys."
Sangyeon complies without protest. "I wasn't planning on drinking this much," he explains, apologetic. "I'm sorry Kevin woke you up for this."
The looks he gives you makes you want to hide—in it, the knowledge and understanding of a friend who knows something he shouldn't: that you have been crushing on Kevin Moon for months, and the only reason you're out here is because he called. "It's okay," you lie, "I couldn't sleep anyway."
"Sure," he grins, hopping off the wall. He's about to say something else when he gets cut off by a loud voice.
"You're here!!"
Sunwoo appears out of nowhere, swinging an arm around your neck, his full weight leaning into you as he presses a kiss to your cheek. "Our saviour!"
You bite back a chuckle, the smell of booze hitting your nose as he continues to hug you tight. "I hope you're still this chipper with a banger of a headache in the morning, my friend," you say, patting his hair. He flashes you a smile in return.
"I'll make sure to leave some aspirin and a gallon of water next to his bedside." Kevin's voice seems to come out of nowhere, his breath hitting the back of your neck as he leans in to press a kiss to your cheek from behind. He backs away, hands dug deep into the pockets of his jacket. "Thanks for coming." His smile is warm, and your skin tingles where it met his lips.
The drive home is rather silent—Sunwoo's drunk enthusiasm faded into a slumber, his head lulling back and forth, and jerking back up every time you hit a pothole. Sangyeon's seated next to him, pillowing his head with his hand as he tries to snap an impossible picture of the youngest in the dark (for future blackmail, no doubt).
That leaves Kevin in the passenger seat, and he couldn't be paying less attention to you if he tried. His phone is on a constant buzz, and you wonder more than once who would be up at this hour texting him. You bite your lip in an attempt to subdue the idea of Kevin night texting with someone (that is not you) and it takes a long moment for you to realise he's said your name. Thrice now.
"Are you okay?" He asks as you refocus on the present, and you nod. "You sure? Want me to drive? I never should've called you in the dead of night," he starts, sounding genuinely apologetic. "I know you have a hard time sleeping as it is." The fact that he knows this should surprise you, but you're more surprised by his offer to take the wheel.
"Drunk driving isn't cute," you snap, harsher than you meant it to.
"I-," Kevin swallows, his phone in his lap buzzing again. He pauses, eyes trained on you now—on the way your jaw just clenched, and your fingers tightened around the steering wheel. His heart stammers in his chest when, "I'm not drunk. I pretended to be so I could see you."
The moment the words leave his lips, he realises how bad it sounds. But he also realises he'd rather you think him being an asshole than being an irresponsibility drunk. He watches your lips part, tentatively, and he knows you're trying to decipher if it's the truth or just the booze lying to you.
Your heart is pounding so loud you can hear the blood rushing in your ears. "Don't be a dick," you manage, pulling up the driveway of the boys' apartment. "You're not flirting your way out of this one."
"Uh, yeah dude," Sangyeon speaks up in the backseat. "Dick move, considering."
Kevin shoots Sangyeon a glance, and it seems to be enough to get the elder to gather Sunwoo and make his way out of the car, fast.
You unbuckle to help him—the idea of being alone with Kevin in such close proximity suddenly a little too uncomfortable for you. Kevin sucks in a breath, bracing himself before blurting, "Go out with me."
One foot out the car, you freeze. "I've liked you for months," he continues before he chickens out, and somehow the words keep coming now, unable to stop, "and I've been too scared to tell you so I've been making stupid excuses to see you and I know it's crazy and maybe a little unhinged but I like you, like a whole lot and Jacob's been threatening to block my number if I didn't tell you so would you please let me take you on a date?"
The look you give him is unreadable. Is it worry? Disbelief? Pity? Oh no, it's pity, isn't it? Oh shit, he fucked up.
The silence that follows feels eternal—imaginary seconds ticking away heavily in his mind like an old grandfather's clock in slow motion.
"Okay."
Okay?
"Okay," he echoes, and he notices a smile tugging at your lips. "Okay. Tomorrow. Does brunch work for you?"
"Brunch always works for me."

The Switch of Daylight- Pick Up
(Alice x Reader x Jasper)
Tumblr media
Seven | Eight | Nine
I walked out of the house, panicked to say the least. What the fuck was going on? I slept through the night? It's day time.
Before the dreams it said something about being an incarnate for wolves. My dreams said nothing about that. Just showing my love for Jasper and Alice that they never even mentioned. Getting on my bike, I sat there for a moment before starting the engine. Thinking about everything that just happened. Should I call them?
Would they even want to speak with me? Would they pick up? Alice probably already saw this happening and if that's true, I think she'd care enough to warn me maybe? Right?
Shaking the thoughts away I start the engine, turning the bike around to speed out on the road. Weirdly getting a feeling of someone watching me. Glancing around, peeking through the woods. Animalistic eyes staring back at me. I think? I mean it could range from vampires to wolves obviously. If it wanted to attack it would've already that's all I know. Ignoring it for now might be the best for me.
Hopefully it's not the wrong move but who knows. Getting into the Rev, I practically almost forgot to put my kick stand up as I was in such a rush. Going from sleeping, dreaming, to now awake as nothing happened. I felt the stares as usual, having to ignore them like I always have. I rush up to Billy and Jacob's house.
Knocking repetitively. Not stopping until the door swings open. "Why are you knocking like that this early?!" I'm met with Billy in his wheel chair, his facial expression is worried and obviously alarmed. "I need you to answer some questions." I squeeze past him, into the house before he can even begin to say no.
"Well good morning to you too, [Name]." He sighs out.
"I'm sorry but I'm freaking out Billy and I have no one else to turn to." I sit down at his kitchen table, my face contorting, matching all the emotions I'm feeling.
"What's going on? Let's start there, hm?" He joins me at the table. I glance around. "No one's home right?" I fidget with my hands, my eyes darting around the house. "It's just me. Jake's with Bella. I'm surprised you didn't know." He informs me. "I was too busy sleeping to hear anything about that." I spit out.
"Sleeping?" His eyes widen.
"Yeah, yeah, that's what I needed to see you about. Sam said I'm an incarnate. From the God's or something. Which confused me because I thought your beliefs are the spirits, ancestors I mean. I've seen my past lives too. But I only have bits and pieces of my memories, but last night I fell asleep and then was like living those memories I've never seen before?" It all rolled off my tongue. Not having to breathe while explaining things is a curse within a blessing sometimes.
I look over at Billy to see his reaction but it's hard to read. His face was stern, as if he's heard of this before. "You were never meant to be a vampire, [Name]." He sighs. "You don't think I know that?" I exclaim, holding my head in frustration. "Incarnates are a wolf thing, I-I've never heard of one becoming a vampire..." He goes quiet, then moving his wheel chair to another room. I feel as though I should follow him but I stop myself, waiting for him to come back.
"There's really nothing I can explain but, you should've met someone from the Quileutes in your first life. Must've had one fall in love with you." He laughs, he comes back in with a book in his lap.
"I was in love with Jasper in my first life." I disagree with him. "I said one must've fallen in love with you. It didn't have to be the other way around, sweetheart." He opens the book, laying it on the table. He points to a section in the book. Unrequited love from an imprint.
"That's not possible." I cross my arms. "I was told when one imprints both parties can't control it, they both fall in love." I say as if he doesn't know his own Native stories. "Unless the love they have for another is stronger." He finishes the paragraph in the book. "And then once they pass they live another, their curse to turn into a wolf. None of your incarnates did so. It's never happened and it never will. I hope." He adds in the last part in a quiet tone. I tilt my head to the side.
"You hope?" I question.
"You'd be an even worse monstrosity than what you are now." He tells me, before I can question further or he can talk more the door opens. Our heads turn to see Sam standing there. I let out an exasperated groan, throwing my head back. "Nice to see you too." He comments.
"What do you need, Sam?" Billy asks, not in a harsh way. Just curious on why he's here.
"You had work for me to do. Remember?" He reminds the older man. "You've told her?" He then changes the subject, I just glare at him as he comes closer to us. "Yes, but-"
"Even the kiss part?" He cuts Billy off. My eyebrows raise. "Kiss?" I whisper, now scrunching my face in confusion, looking over at my dad's best friend who sighs, putting his head down for a moment. "It won't do any good, Sam. We don't know if that would work on her due to her... condition." Not very subtle but alright.
"It's worth a try, she should know." Sam says. "Hey, I'm still in the room. Please stop acting like I'm not." I stand up, causing Sam to take a tiny step back away from me, hands in the air.
"Tell me what it is." I demand. "[Name], please understand-"
"I can't understand what it is unless you tell me." I snap at him, growing irritated from not knowing what ever the hell they're not telling me. "Kissing a wolf could break whatever thing you have. Curse if you want to call it that. It forces an imprint onto you, but it turns you into a wolf, healing you from vampirism." Sam explains. "We don't know that." Billy interjects. "We won't know unless we try."
"No." I shake my head. They turn to me. "I'm not doing it. What would happen if it doesn't?" I look over at Billy. "Either... you'll become a wolf. Or, you'll be something else." He frowns.
"Something else?" I glance between him and Sam. "A hybrid, a dangerous, disgust monster. That should never exist." Billy's words are loud, strict and precise to attempt to explain how bad it is. "You'd have both teams against you for the rest of your existence." Billy closes the book.
"Has it existed before? How do we know-"
"We won't ever know." He snaps at me. My mouth closes. "You will not even attempt this." He points at me. "Billy-". Sam begins. "Don't start with me, Uley. You knew how I felt and still decided to bring it up. You knew." If looks could kill, Sam would be ashes.
"I won't do it." I swear to Billy. Sam seems disappointed. He should be. "Good, you didn't have a choice." Billy laughs dryly. "I have no intentions on trying to either." I tell him sincerely.
The room grows quiet after that, the tension in the air between the three of us growing thick. I wouldn't even be able to cut through it with a knife. I clear my throat. "I uh, thank you Billy for your help. I need to go back home before dad realizes I've left." I wave to him, taking slow steps out of the house.
I look up at Sam for a moment but refuse to acknowledge him as I walked out of the door. I headed back towards my bike, taking in all the information I just left with.
A hybrid? I was to be a wolf in one of my lives. I never was. I'm a vampire, but I was to be a wolf.
I can't become a hybrid.
Everyone will come after me?
His words flood in my head, repeating all over the place. I hold myself onto a tree as I stumble. Not able to comprehend everything. I want Jasper. I want Alice by my side.
I hear foot steps behind me, my poster straightens. "Get away." I growl. "[Name] please hear me out." Sam grabs my wrist but I rip it away, turning his way. "I said get away, Sam!" I step back from him.
"Just listen to me!" He shouts, I see steam emit off of him. I back away, shaking my head. "There's nothing to listen to." I rush to my bike, hurriedly turning it on and speeding off. Not even looking back.
Charlie wasn't home, which I was grateful. I needed time alone after everything. I slowly put my kickstand up after stopping my bike. Getting inside the house felt like a safe space immediately.
Nothing from the outside world can hurt me here. I hum softly. I glanced around at the mess of life. My dads drinks around the living room. The throw pillows and blankets a mess. And over in the kitchen there's some snack wrappers on the counter. A dirty plate on the table. I smile softly.
Then my eyes make contact with the phone on the wall. I think about my loves.
Their faces from my past lives flowing in my mind.
My body moves without me noticing. My hand lifting up to pick it up, and I'm punching in numbers in swift movements. The phone is ringing.
And ringing.
And ringing.
"Hello...." Her voice sounded clear, but then it goes into her voicemail. Alice didn't pick up.
She didn't pick up fifteen more times.
Jasper didn't either.
Neither did the rest of them as I tried multiple times each.
I felt myself going crazy. I wanted to slam the phone into the wall but I composed myself. Closing my eyes, I walked to my room. Continuing to try Alice and Jasper's phones specifically.
Over
And over
And over
And over
And over.
And over.

The Phenomenon of the Immortal Sun: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan, Chapter 6
Tumblr media
None of the characters in Twilight belong to me, all rights go to Stephenie Meyer!
Authors note: I have no idea if I used these song lyrics in a previous chapter in Eclipse... I have a garbage memory.
"Stars did fall. Thunder rolled. Bugs crawled back, In their holes. The couple screamed, but it was far too late. Her jealous heart did retaliate."
Ten Cent Pistol by, The Black Keys.
Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie looked like they wanted to kill someone. Alice, Dean, Esme, and Bree all looked confused and hurt.
Rosalie inhaled deeply.
"We need to do something about those two..." Rosalie said.
"They're way out of line... Edward especially... human or not I would kill anyone who comes near Fleur." Jasper added, fury was still in his voice.
"What can you guys do he's your brother. Besides after Bella turns they were going to go live in that cabin you guys renovated for them."
"We'll need to do something, you don't need any of this right now... I'm disappointed in him." Esme said sadly.
Before I could say anything else I could hear Bella scream.
"She must've just gotten bitten." I murmured.
"Hey you're probably thirsty, your eyes are starting to turn black, let me get you something," Esme suggested.
"That'd be great thanks... Jazz, could you hand me my phone?"
"Sure, what for darlin?" Jasper said sitting next to me.
"I need to call Sam and Leah... they need to know about this too. If we keep it from them, they could consider it a threat."
Carlisle's office door swung open, Edward ran toward the front door and slammed it. Carlisle came out with an annoyed look on his face.
"He's going to be the second death of me I swear he is."
"Well Seth already knows, maybe he told Leah." Bree suggested.
"Maybe he did but it won't hurt to check." I replied. I dialed Leah's number first thinking she might be a little more understanding.
"Fleur?" I heard her ask on the other line.
"Hey, Leah... has Seth told you anything lately?" My voice trembled slightly. I heard Leah sigh before letting out a laugh.
"Yeah, Seth told me you were pregnant calm down." I heard her reply.
"Oh, so Sam knows too?"
"Yeah but he's a bit skeptical... you know how he is." Leah mumbled.
"Yeah... but what about Bella... he does know that today is her changing day, the transformation is already happening."
"The last thing he told Seth about her is that she's not our concern anymore... it's her choice to change, we can't stop it." Leah explained.
"Listen I gotta go, I'll see you soon."
"See you later." She hung up a few seconds later. I rested my head on Jasper's should and sighed in relief.
"Here Fleur, maybe this we'll make you feel a bit better," Esme said, handing me a glass.
I grasped the cup and chugged it, it was gone a few seconds later. I didn't feel much better.
"Your eyes are still black...each bag should have the exact amount of blood you need for the next few days... How about you have some more?
I gulped down another bag, it still wasn't enough.
"This isn't good." Carlisle explained, he looked puzzled.
"Ehh...why isn't that good?" I inquired
"Well, if you can never be satisfied with the amount of blood your drinking you will eventually begin to starve. You will lose your strength, and could possibly have moments of insanity." Carlisle explained.
"I can handle this... it'll be worth it for him. Besides like you said before it most likely won't be a full 9 months."
"We'll all be by your side darlin." Jasper reassured, kissing my cheek.
"I'll monitor you whenever I can, it seems they're already growing quickly." Carlisle said, gesturing down to my bump.
Over the next few weeks, my baby grew more and more, but I was beginning to get weaker. No matter how much blood I drank, nothing seemed to sedate me. The rest of the Cullens were on edge with Edward and Bella, and since Bella was finally a vampire, they couldn't trust them at all. They weren't around much but when they were Rosalie and Jasper seemingly stood guard for me. I was zoned out, laying in an armchair since I was beginning to get sick of sitting on the same couch when Esme interrupted my concentration.
"Fleur, Leah and Seth are here." She called out.
I sat up and smiled, gesturing for her to bring them in. Leah and Seth walked in carrying some wrapped boxes with them.
Esme walked in with them before giving a quick goodbye as she wanted to help Carlisle and Rosalie with collecting food for me.
"You two did not have to get me anything." I said.
"Look aunt Leah has to get my nephew something." She said a smile was on her face.
I opened the box, a stuffed wolf plushie was inside, a dreamcatcher was underneath the plushie.
"These gifts are great thank you!"
"No problem, I thought they would be nice."
"You are the only one who thinks it's a boy, everyone else thinks it's a girl."
"I trust your instincts." Leah shrugged before pulling up a chair and sitting next to me.
"So how are you Fleur?" Seth asked, he shuffled around in his place, his eyes were scanning for someone else.
"It's getting rougher now since he's growing so big but, I know it'll all be worth it in the end."
"Your eyes look really dark, aren't they suppose to be red?" Leah inquired.
"We're beginning to think he's half-vampire half-human, he has a heartbeat it's just slightly faster than usual humans. He's definitely drinking the blood I get."
"I heard what happens to vampires when they don't feed...it gets rough." Leah said rubbing my back comfortingly.
"I have my moments but, they haven't been too bad."
"Where's the rest of the Cullens?" Seth inquired.
"Hunting, Edward, and Bella don't show up much... they don't want me to have my baby. But the rest of the Cullen's are really supportive and Jasper is ecstatic about it." I rubbed my bump unconsciously.
"But how do you eat?" Leah asked, her eyebrows were furrowed.
"Carlisle and Rose get these bags of animal blood for me." I saw Leah sigh and Lean back against her seat.
"These vampires aren't so bad after all...I'm glad Seth found Bree... she seems nice." Leah smiled.
"Oh she really is, she didn't know what she was doing when she was turned... I'm glad we're able to help her."
"So... when do you think you'll give birth?"
"Carlisle said I could give birth in a week or two... It's nerve-wracking, it's so unpredictable."
"Hey, you'll be fine... I'll stay here for a bit if you need." Leah offered.
"That would be nice but, I don't want to put you through any trouble."
"It wouldn't be any trouble besides If Edward or Bella tries something... they're going to have to deal with me too."
I laughed but before I could say anything I could sense Edward and Bella coming in, but the others were still farther away.
"Great... now we got werewolves constantly coming in." Bella complained.
Seth and Leah looked up shocked.
"Bella... did you forget you were in a toxic, manipulative love triangle for a solid year with a werewolf... for a solid fucking year." I snapped back.
"Jacob doesn't talk to me anymore!" Bella roared.
"Good for him, he needs to move on." I said, Leah nodded in agreement.
"You always have to stick your opinion in don't you?" Bella said.
"Uhh... you walked in for 5 seconds are were already trying to start shit with me." I snapped, the rage in my body burned.
"Hey, don't you snap at my wife." Edward snarled, he started walking up to me slowly.
"Back off Edward." Leah warned, she seemed to feel how pissed off I was.
"Can it mutt."
"Edward... I've been starving for almost a month... don't try me."
"What can you do? You're frail, weak, impaired." Edward pushed, walking up in front of me.
"What in the fuck are you two still doing here? I mean... honestly, you both got what you wanted, Edward you got a mate, and Bella, you became immortal. If you can't stand the decisions we're all making then why don't you just leave?"
"Because we're protected, we're the feared Olympic coven... Who wouldn't want to stay here." Edward explained, he rolled his eyes as if it were obvious.
"Oh I see... you're using them, you're too unskilled to protect yourselves so why wouldn't you want to let everyone else do the work?" I said in fake shock, Leah and Seth began to chuckle.
"I'm not unskilled enough to protect myself from you." Bella smirked, joining Edward in front of me.
"...You two fucking try something I dare you because the way I've been feeling all month I fucking dare someone to mess with me. I growled standing up on my own, it was strange... it was like a new strength filled my body.
Leah came up in front of me and put an arm between us three.
"Just drop it you three... this isn't going to end well." Leah warned.
Edward smirked and then grabbed me, I quickly flipped him around and as I warned before kicked him through the glass wall.
I heard shuffling and turned around to see Leah holding Bella down with Seth helping her out. I turned back around to the window, I saw Edward lying on the ground with Dean, Alice, Esme, and Emmett looking up at me in shock. I saw Carlisle approach Edward, a deadly look was on his face.
"Damn short stack!" I heard three sets of feet running inside Jasper, Rosalie, and Bree came into the lounge room. Bree went to go help Seth and Leah with Bella.
"Darlin are you okay?" Jasper called toward me worryingly. I couldn't say anything however as that newfound strength had dissipated, and I clutched my head. Rosalie and Jasper rushed to me.
"That's it I can't stand those two anymore they have to get out of here!" Rosalie exclaimed, Jasper just nodded in agreement.
When I was sat back down in the armchair I decided to explain what happened. The rest of the Cullens came back in, Edward couldn't look me in the eyes now.
"So sweety, what happened?" Esme inquired.
"I was just sitting with Leah and Seth when Bella started complaining that Leah and Seth were here."
Bella tried to say something but Rosalie gave her a glare.
"I snapped at her I'll admit but... then Edward started coming up to me threateningly... but he then he said that he was just living with you guys because he was being protected... and long story short Edward grabbed me and I kicked him through the glass wall." I finished. I had never seen Carlisle or Esme so mad before.
"Is that true?" Carlisle inquired.
"But..."
"HE SAID IS IT TRUE!" Esme interrupted.
Edward bit down a growl before answering.
"Yes."
"You two can't come around here anymore...nor do you two belong to this coven." Carlisle demanded.
Bella gasped.
"What a second we can work something out..." She started.
"Look I'm not going to spend decades of you three fighting all the time... and personally, I'm personal want to keep the one I like." Rosalie sniped.
"Leave at once," Carlisle said.
Edward and Bella stormed out of the house and ran off. A thick silence overtook the air.
"Uh...sorry about the wall." Jasper shushed me before pulling me in for a kiss.
"You two okay?" He asked, rubbing my stomach.
"Oh yeah he's having a blast...you should've felt him, he was kicking up a storm. He's a fighter I can tell." I said smiling. Jasper curled up to me and rested his head on mine. I saw the Cullens as well as Leah and Seth glance at each other, leaving the room.
"You know, I can feel what emotions they feel," Jasper stated.
"Really? How is he feeling now?"
"They loves the sound of your voice, I can tell. They get so happy when they hear it."
I smiled fondly on my bump before rubbing it softly.
"I'm glad you love it, we both love you that's for sure..."

Euphoria Season 2 Episode 3 liveblog
As always there are spoilers below
Here we go I'm not prepared for my ship to crash in flames any Sunday now. Also I wanna kick Cassie with my good heels.
Tumblr media
I'm very excited we are seeing Cal's backstory because is is what I wanted in season 1.
R.i.p Inxs such a tragic story what happened there.
I figured the Jacobs were generational wealth of some kind.
I realize more people are freaked out by seeing all the dicks in this show than I am. It's just nudity shrug we all get naked sometimes and its not sexual.
Cal loved a boy that didn't entirely love him back or wouldn't fully allow himself to. Marsha was literally his Maddy but, he was going through the whole heteronormativity perform for my father bullshit.
Derrick's girlfriend is so pretty.
Nothing is wrong with bisexuality. Oh they are at a gay bar which may be something they both knew or didn't know before they went there together.
Ugh they were young and in love and couldn't be because it was the 1980s. This is so sad and then of course all that unprotected sex led to an oops baby. Not the cold open just being tears. I'm sorry but id be there for my kid but that does not mean I'm about to live out the rest of my life unhappy.
Tumblr media
Here's my little messy drug addict and this song is quite literally her and her relationship with drugs and Jules. The way I would do this and my family wouldn't think I was high they'd think its just me being me.
Here we go with her presentation and its Elliot at the helm of the clicker. Rue, the world is fucked up but that doesn't mean you can get help this presentation is so fucking chaotic like oh my god. This is what I feel like when I'm manic like bro my fucking head hurts slow the hell down. And she thinks that she's getting away with this mess? Also, girl a drug test like a blood test shows what weed is versus opiates you dummy.
Nah rue everyone knows you're lying and that weed is not what you're doing. Ooo now everyone's seeing that Rue is an addict and that addicts can be sneaky and conniving. She's using her little sister as a way to get what she wants. You are such a fucking liar also she acts like people can't tell the difference between weed and heroin. This really hits home though.
Jules is gonna interrogate this man well boy because she wants to know if he wants to fuck her girlfriend. Jules said I wanna fuck her but we aren't having that discussion right now.
Rue! We don't ask body counts, also body counts don't matter.
Ay they explained why Hunter is using a binder this season. Which hey androgyny is great but i think there's a bigger underlying issue there that maybe she needs and should talk about.
This entire scene is fucking great. I think they are alluding to polyamory which would be great is Jules wasn't gonna sit between two people who snort things up their nose for fun and one doesn't know when to tell his friend no and the other can't stop because then she will have to really really feel and feeling sucks.
Tumblr media
Rue and Jules are so sweet and cute when they are free just being in love teenagers.
Jules said please God touch me. Well damn. 😳
Rue no put the heroin down. Its like she's just smoking weed has a great moment and jumps to "let me do heroin". But I get it we all really wanna feel really good after the best thing happens to us.
Ayy Lexi and me have similar coping mechanisms, this is so fucking good. Okay I love this damn show and how they used the actual bts and crews to just film this tid bit.
This is how Lexi really sees Rue and thats how Rue probably actually is. These two sisters honestly should talk like sit down and talk because they have traumas the two will only understand. The reasons they both have such an urge to people please or completely dissociate or become super insular.
Cassie I'm glad you're doing self care but when its only for a boy who doesn't give a shit about you you look like a fucking idiot.
Aw I love Lexi like I adored her once I saw her bob Ross costume but now she got my heart. Please let her stay single though I don't need her and her sister trying to vye for male attention because of their daddy issues.
These three are such trouble together but its fun trouble. How unfortunate that they can't just enjoy this stupid fun teen energy because Rue is out here feening for some damn drugs because she ran out of her supply. Girl the rule is "don't get high on you're own supply". I just want them to be happy and good.
Of course Elliot thinks it is a good idea.
Tumblr media
Aww everyone calls her Rue-Rue.
Lexi looks exhausted and is like Rue hold you're god damn tongue this is how im processing life.
Awww the fact that everyone is so concerned about Rue is really fucking sweet. Nobody wants her to die from an overdose.
Yea Maddy you're doing so so much better now and no it was that bad he strangled you. Cassie if you know all this shit about their relationship why the fuck are you pining over his jolly green giant ass. Especially cause he's only using Cassie for sex but doesn't know anything about her.
Cassie and Nate are so fucking stupid, get them off my screen.
Ewww not his parents listening to this shit and his dad being like no this is weird and doesn't make me miss highschool. Especially cause he did all that and now is living a double life instead of just leaving his wife and family, which wouldn't be great either.
Kat deserves a big ass hug, adults ask teens questions like that because they forgot no teen knows the answer to that question. Hell I've got friends married who don't know the answer to that.
These two are literally just bunny rabbits like god can you stop having sex for 3 secs. Cassie you're not mens object to fulfill their fantasy and the sooner you realize that the sooner you'll learn to cope without it. Ifk talk to Jules maybe she'll wisen both you and Maddy up cause ew.
Of course Cal is watching Fez from afar. "You need to leave"
Rue you're like kind of sober/on less than h right now so maybe we should just stick to that. This is not a proposal this is how you use someone's entire supply and end up getting a fucking arm cut off or a hand for not having their money PLUS interest. Did she not watch the wire in season 1?
Tumblr media
This is a dumb ass plan and you are going to get yourself killed, fez killed, or someone else. Ay yi yi.
So much love for Ashtray and his shotty.
Tumblr media
Lexi' storyline is so freaking cute but she ig going to burn herself out. Can't wait to see it.
Yes the entire Jacobs family is a bunch of pussy ass bitches.
Exactly Fezco this shit is messy and confusing, Nate is spinning shit left and right.
I do not like that Jules is being lied to by either Elliot or Rue. Also, Rue is only sexual when she's sober which isn't a whole lot. When she's sober sis be out here thinking about Jules and under her covers.
Here goes Elliot spinning shit, this is how you know a straight man is writing this because of course a man comes in between these two. He's into them both but he can only get one of them. Also asexual people have swx with their partners for their partners benefit more often than you'd think. (I said this to a friend I watch with that if they didn't have rue being on fent or heroin we might get an actual semi functional teen throuple. I could just see Jules and Elliot looking at Rue like "oh you're sober righttt"
Also I too have a crush on hunter Schafer cause she's the girl version minus the drugs of every grunge 90s rocker that I wanted to be as a teen when I grew up and wanted on my wall.
Tumblr media
In love but they don't ever fucking communicate. For the love of God please fucking talk please.
Ali its time to check the fuck out of Rue. Well Rue you just lost another person in your corner and you will regret it.
Tumblr media
Jules is going to connect with Elliot, Rue is going to be in love with drugs even more, Cassie is a fucking idiot, and I hope Lexi' play does super well but I think its going to really fuck up her relationship with her family. I write about my family a lot but I'm not releasing anything until A. I dont live with/around them and B. I change enough that its not defaming to them. Because that's extremely painful and causes wounds that don't heal so easily.
Oh is Leslie talking to....oh.
Rue found a way to get fentanyl, fuck. Yea she's going to have the battle of a life time. I only know a handful of people who are completely sober after having full on fent addictions.
Tumblr media
Nates going to see Maddy girl I feel it in my bones. And I was right, he's gonna try to get that tape. Cassie the L taker.
Tumblr media
Teaser thoughts: Rue has so much love to give and she's giving it to drugs instead of herself and the people who really love her. And because of that it is just going to push them all away. I just reallywant to hug all my girls so so tight, even Cassie because she is suffering when she doesn't have to.
Just some other thoughts, if sam cuts out Barbie and Hunter that diversity meter is gonna plummet. Proud of Sydney for advocating for herself on not just euphoria sets but her other projects. I think this episode was better than the last and to be honest dont hate me but Cal is more interesting to me than his son. Like I get why and understand Nate is fucked up, he's also really well written, but I am more sympathetic to his father. Which says a lot about Nate being just some pissy kid who needs therapy yes but also likes to torment people for fun. If I put him and Rue on the same level they both fuck up and hurt the people they love but Nate does it because he enjoys that power and control over people. Rue just trying to do what we all want to do escape this fucking cesspool called life. And I think that's so fucking messed up that if it were him as Rue or any other non men characters position people would be saying omg I can fix him, oh wait they already do. -_-

Alicia's POV
"Are you really going on a date with Davey?" Gemma asked as we drove to the diner. I nodded and she shook her head at me, "you're going to have to stop watching everyone else's back someday sweetie."
"Maybe I like Dave," I mused, trying to make it seem like I wasn’t doing it for Jax or Tara, “maybe I wanted to go out with him…”
"Do you?"
I shrugged, "I don't know. I've never taken the time to get to know him."
"The Hale family is a bunch of stuck-up assholes. You would think with how rich they were they could afford someone to pull the stick from their asses," Gemma retorted, “but nope…it’s wedged right on in there.”
"David's nice, Gemma."
"He's probably the only one," she muttered under her breath, "does he still have that goofy ass haircut from when he delivered papers?"
"It's not goofy."
"I'll take that as a yes," Gemma laughed, pulling into the diner, "You want me to wait?"
"No," I said, shaking my head, "Jax should be home in an hour. Said he's gonna give Mikayla her bath and do bedtime with her."
Gemma had a surprised look come across her face, "Really?"
I nodded, "we sat down and talked for a bit. I told him that he's a shit father...and I told him how Mikayla is starting to call guys daddy. His tune changed really quick."
She covered her mouth then shook her head, "it's a shame that it took that for him to realize it…but hey, better late than never."
"I know," I sighed. She pulled me into a hug and wished me luck and I got out of the car. I didn't see David's jeep, but I went into the diner anyways, “Hey Lucy.”
"Hey Alicia," Lucy smiled, "corner booth."
"Hale's already here?"
She nodded, "been here about 15 minutes now."
I made my way back to the corner booth and saw a mop of dark brown hair. It was a Hale, alright, but it was Jacob, not David, "Oh...uhm..."
"Sit down."
"Where's Da-"
"Sit down." I did as the elder Haleinstructed and sat across from him. Lucy came over and he waved her off, "David's not coming."
"What?"
"Do you have difficulty hearing too?"
"No," I said simply, "I just thought since David asked me out, he'd be the one telling me this."
"He's tied up with something that actually matters. I came down here as a courtesy, because my family means something to me," he explained, "You see. David is on the fast track to be the youngest chief of police Charming has ever seen. What he doesn't need is some teenage mother from a biker club adding stress to him. Do you understand?"
"Whatever."
I went to get up and leave, but he stood up and grabbed my arm, "you do not speak to David. You do not look at him. The only thing that you are allowed to do, is acknowledge him as the police when he puts your family behind bars."
"Let go of me," I seethed, “I don’t need to listen to your bullshit, Jacob.”
He dropped my arm and rubbed his hands disgustedly on the napkin from the table, "You are trash, Miss. Morrow and I don't need you dragging my family name down, because my brother can't see past your façade."
I slapped him. The diner got quiet. I opened my purse and pulled a $10 out of my wallet, throwing it at him, "after you pay for your coffee, maybe you can use the rest to purchase yourself some manners, Mr. Hale."
I stormed out of the diner to see David pulling into the parking spot. He saw me and jumped out of his jeep, "I'm so sorry Alicia. I got held up. My dad was at the courthouse, and he said he got attacked by someone."
"You and your brother can go to hell."
I stormed past him. He ran back to catch up to me, "what are you talking about?"
I stopped, "your brother. He was kind enough to show up for our date and told me just how much of a piece of trash me and my family is. I'm sorry. I wanted to go on a date with you, but nothing can ever be there so long as your brother is like that. I refuse to subject not only myself, but my family to anyone who thinks like that."
"Alicia," he pleaded, "that's not what I th-"
"David," I said, cutting him off, "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to put me or my daughter in any kind of awkward situation like that. What do you think would happen if we did start dating? Had holidays together? Do you really think your brother or father would hold their tongue for anyone’s benefit?"
He kept silent.
"Exactly," I sighed, "You are a sweet guy Dave, but your family will not ever allow me to be with you. And if I was selfish enough to look past it, I can only imagine the impact it would have on my daughter's feelings about her family. I won't risk that."
Before he could respond I began walking back to my house. About halfway home I ran into Tara. Literally ran into her. Both of us ended up on the ground.
"Fuck," I said, looking at my elbow. It had scraped along the sidewalk and had started to bleed, “Damn it.”
"Are you okay?"
I looked over at Tara and had noticed that she had a black eye and a few bruises on her face, along with a few cuts, "what happened to you?"
She didn't answer me. I helped her up and began examining her face. That's when I saw the bruises on her wrists, "your father?"
She looked down, and I pulled her to me, "how long as this been going on again?"
She shook her head, "not often...I deserve it sometimes. I jus-"
"Tara, no one deserves this," I sighed. I took her hand, "come home with me, I'm going to clean you up."
"No...I don't want Jax seeing me like this."
"Tara."
She didn't fight me on it. We got to the house, and I could see Gemma's car. I looked at my watch. It had just hit six. Jax probably wouldn't be home for a few minutes. We rushed past Gemma and I led Tara into my room.
"Hey girls. It’s just me for now, but dinner's almos-" Gemma began, but she cut herself off when she saw Tara's face, "sweetie, who did this to you?"
She began shaking her head, "I'm going to get the first aid kit."
Gemma nodded, and I ran into the kitchen, grabbing the first aid kit from under the sink. When I came back Tara was crying into Gemma's arms, "she told you?"
Gemma nodded. I heard the front door close, and Jax came into my line of vision, "TARA, Oh my god. Who did this? What happened?"
He pushed past me and pulled her into his arms. Gemma stood up, "Mayans jumped her a few blocks from the diner."
He pulled away from her, "What?"
"Saw some Hispanic guys on bikes. They saw her crow tattoo because her cami rode up. They went from flirting with her, to assuming she was someone's old lady. Jumped her," Gemma said, matter of fact, "I'm calling Clay. This is going too far."
I looked at her, eyes wide. Why would she be lying about this. She looked at me, from between Jax arms and mouthed 'please don't.' I looked at her, still horrified about this.
You dumb bitch, you are going to create a war.
Tumblr media
"What the hell did you do?" he growled, bursting through Chico's door. Gemma and I shot up. Gemma grabbed Mikey and ran to get my dad. He rushed the bed, "You think you are being funny or cute or some shit?"
I shook my head, "she lied...I tried to tell you be-"
"SHUT UP," he yelled grabbing my arm so that I was standing with him in front of the bed, "Tara was jumped by those wetback mother fuckers and you got your dad and the club believing her dad fucking hits her."
"She told me that's what it was from."
"Fuck you," he growled at me, "you are just pissed off about me being with her. So, you are inventing these bullshit lies so everyone hates her. But guess what, that's what it is. She got jumped by the Mayans. She wouldn't lie to me Alicia."
"You really think this is somehow about you?" I yelled, standing up. I pushed him back, "FUCK YOU. The only reason I deal with your ass is because we have a daughter together. But you know what, our daughter taught me something. SHE DOESN'T NEED YOU. If you want to believe Tara's lies, then go the fuck ahead. I'm done protecting the both of you. But Uncle Tom was killed because I let her lie to everyone. Because I didn't say anything."
He shoved me back, "FUCK YOU. You lying bitch."
I saw his hand go back, like he was going to slap me. Gemma caught it, "JACKSON NATHANIEL TELLER!"
He froze. He looked from me, back to his hand, and then finally to his mother who was holding it.
"Jax?"
Everyone's gaze shifted to the door. Tara stood there, her hands over her mouth. Behind her I could make out a few of the guys, all in shock at the scene before us.
"It was my dad," she admitted through a whisper, "she's not lying."
Jackson's face fell. He looked back at me, and then to his hand once more, this time in horror. I saw it go slack, and Gemma let it go.
"I wasn't the one that was lying," I seethed, tears in my eyes. Gemma stood between us, "just remember that next time you want to hit me because you think I am."
I pushed past him, and the half a dozen guys with kuttes on. I grabbed my books off the bar and went into the office, locking the door between there and the clubhouse. I heard a knock on the door, but I didn't respond.
A few minutes later Ope walked through the door from the garage. He had Mikayla on his hip. He gave me a sympathetic smile as he passed my daughter over to me, "you okay?"
I nodded, pushing the tears back down. I brushed some of Mikayla's hair away from her face, "I'm done."
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm gone next year," I said, " I can't be around here anymore. I can't let Mikayla be a part of this. I don't want to see my family get hurt. I'm going to move to Chicago."
"What? Why Chicago?"
I pulled the pamphlet from my civics book and handed It to them, "they've got a great program...I'm going to go to school to be a lawyer. Gonna get a year of community college done here...but I've been talking to some professors."
"Shit," he said, thumbing through it, "you tell your family this?"
I shook my head, taking the pamphlet, "no. And you aren't going to either."
"Alicia..."
"Promise me, Ope," I pleaded, "Mikayla and I...we have to get out of here."
"Right when I'm coming back though?"
I cocked my head to the side, "What?"
"Yeah," he smiled, "I uhm...I asked my dad about it. Clay said he'll sponsor me, and my dad will sponsor Jax...we're prospects now. They had an open vote about it. We'll prospect for 2 years, since we're only 19, but once that's up, we're patched. I think when I get patched, I'm going to ask Donna to marry me."
I smiled, "good for you Ope."
"It ain't gonna be the same without you here," he began, "you know I always figured that you would be someone's old lady. You'd replace Gemma one day."
"I don't think I'm cut out for that Ope."
He rubbed my back, "I'll always be in your corner. Whether you are here, or in Chicago. You ever need anything, you tell me, alright?"
I nodded and kissed his cheek, "same here. You ever call me you need legal help."
He smiled, "might take you up on that. Being a club guy an all."
I laughed and playfully shoved him, before leaning against his shoulder, "I'm gonna miss ya Harry."
"Ugh," he groaned, playfully shoving me back, "way to be sentimental Alicia."
I stuck my tongue out at him, "alright. Alright. I won't call you by your birth name."
"Good," he said, standing up, "the only one that gets to call me that is Donna."
I rolled my eyes at him and stood up as well. He took my hand and led me over to the clubhouse door. I nodded and he unlocked it. We walked in, and from the main area I could hear arguing. I looked over to Gemma who was pouring people drinks. She shrugged, "Jax and her have been arguing since you walked away."
"I'm sorry."
The guys waved me off, stating that they were happy to know what really had happened. My dad wrapped an arm around me, "you did the right thing sweetheart. We had a vote on it while you and Opie were talking. Jax will have to prospect two years..."
"And Opie?"
"Keep your nose clean," my dad laughed, "and you'll have your patch in a year."
Opie looked at me, then back to my dad, "really?"
My dad nodded, and Opie pulled him into a hug, before going to each one of the guys and shaking their hands and hugging them. I smiled, looking at Opie. "At least one good thing came out of it."
"Two."
"Huh?"
"You said at least one good thing came out of it," dad smiled, "two good things. I got Chico to call Alvarez, and we agreed that enough blood had been shed. We are done fighting."
"Really?"
My father nodded and hugged me again, before taking Mikayla out of my hands, "and you."
"ME?" she squealed excitedly.
He nodded, "I'm getting you an ice cream sundae."
Her eyes lit up as he took her into the kitchen. I shook my head, and I felt a hand on the small of my back, "JT would'a been proud of ya, sweetie."
He kissed the top of my head, and I smiled, thanking Chibs. I turned to Gemma, "is it okay if I go up on the roof? I want to get some air."
She nodded, "alright."
I walked through the halls of the dorm, before stopping in the utility room. I lifted a copy of the manuscript I'd made from underneath one of the boxes and made my way up to the roof.
I watched the garage, still active beneath me. Cars coming and going. Tig and Lowell Jr. cursing every once in a while. Then I looked back at the manuscript.
-When we take action to avenge the ones we love personal justice collides with social and divine justice. We become judge, jury, and God. With that choice comes daunting responsibility. Some men cave under that weight. Others abuse the momentum. The true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart and the reason in his mind. His solution is always an equal mix of might and right.
-Einstein said that any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. But it takes a touch of genius and lots of courage to move something in the opposite direction.
"We'll find a way JT." I whispered.

Mellillla || Owen P. Joyner
Chapter one~ I'll be dead
High school sweethearts as their friends called them but they were never in a relationship. Several years passed them when their life moved on. Will their paths meet again?
AN: Hey guys.. so here's my first Owen Joyner x fem!OC. Hope you enjoy it :)
Tumblr media
The brunette girl hurried through the hallways to her next class, many other students stood by their lockers chattering with one another. Her flow was interrupted as someone grabber her arm making her stop.
"Why are you running, Dahl?" A breath of relief escaped her lips when she saw Lilith.
"We have a class in like two minutes," she argues.
Lilith let out a chuckle. "We have lunch you idiot" her chuckle grow into a loud laughter.
"What really?" Dahlia turns her left wrist to see the watch.
"What the.."
"You're hilarious," her hand resting on her abdomen from laughing.
"That's not funny," Dahlia's index pushed her glasses further on her nose.
"Come on, let's get you some food," the red haired girl grabbed her wrist pulling her to the cafeteria.
When they arrived there her graze felt on her group of friends sitting on one of the tables near the wall as always.
"You made it, D. Finally," Samuel raises his hand for her to high five it.
She came to a halt and her hand met a wet one.
"Why.. what was that," she groans bringing her hand up to her nose. It didn't smell at all.
"Chill it was just water" he holds his bottle up.
Dahlia rolled her eyes while sitting down.
"So what's your plan for the weekend?" Chloe asks.
"Well, I have volleyball on Saturday and Sunday there's this school play where the bands playing," Dahlia explains as she steals some carrots from Lilith.
"And after that?"
"Serious? After that I'm dead" she knitted one of her brows.
"There's a campfire at Josh's," Jacob suggests.
"Feel free to go" she gestures with her hand.
"Not without you D." He states.
"I'm not coming"
"Please Dahl," Emma had her puppy eyes as she pleaded.
"Guys.. fine, maybe" Dahlia grabs her backpack.
"Where you're going?"
"The break is over in a few. I'm just eluding the big crowd." She winked at them and made her way over to the door.
"She really left. What a girl" every single one at the table began to laugh.
After her last class the brunette had her last rehearsal for the show on Sunday. Her feet steps into the room and her eyes laid abruptly on this special person.
His cap was turned around and held most of his hair back yet single strands of his blonde hair were falling into his face as he played enthusiastic the drums.
She walked over to the piano and took a seat. Her finger run softly over the ivories. A shy small smile suited her lips, deep in her thoughts. Dahlia didn't noticed that someone walked over to her, she shrieks slightly as the shadow laid over her.
"Hey gurl," the familiar voice spoke.
"Val," Dahlia was on her feet again throwing her arms around her.
"I thought you wouldn't come"
"I can't miss this. You know" she rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips.
"Didn't saw you during break" she points.
"I came just for this" the blonde explains.
"Cause I couldn't do this without you"
"We're just rehearsing," Valerie laughs.
"I couldn't do it either," she retorts.
"I know."
"Please take your seats," the teacher shouts.
"We begin with song 3 cause y'all suck at it."
Dahlia was the first to play in this, she nervously let her fingers fly over the keys again. Then the drummer began quietly, giving it all a rhythm and then the rest. Their teacher was somewhat disgusted but also kinda hopeful that her class could do it just good.
"Dahlia, a little louder please," the named girl hit the keys a little harder and her teacher send her a thumb up.
The chords of the last song echoed through the room and the students as well as their teacher seemed pleased.
"Great guys. Go home and get some rest before sunday," the teacher suggests suggests as the music stops.
All the students gathered around the drums giving the person behind various compliments. Dahlia herself moved to the door already out of the room as her teacher calls after her.
"What's wrong?" She arrived at the table.
"You sure about the scholarship?" He questions.
"Yeah, I think I suck too much. I wouldn't make it in the business," Dahlia insists.
"Whatever you say sweetie. I don't wanna push you into something," he states.
Her graze falling on her hands.
"But it'd be a loss," Dahlia's view rose up.
"Thanks but.. I really don't know," she shrugged her shoulders.
"It's okay, Dahlia, really," he gave her a resuring smile. Dahlia nodds and waved to her as she made her way out.
"What did he wanted?" Valerie throws her arm around her shoulder guiding her to the exit.
"Just the scholarship thing"
"Just? Are you serious? Are you stupid? Actually don't answer. I thought we'd have a girl night. At 7 at mine?"
Dahlia nodds as an answer and went to her mother's car.
"See you baby," Valerie shouts after her, Dahlia just winked at her.
"Hi mom," she opens the passenger door and threw her backpack in, following it shortly after.
"Hey hun."
"Can I sleep over at Val's?"
"Yeah of course but don't forget your game tomorrow"
"She'll drive me there."
Actually Valerie is a senior like most of the people in the band but Dahlia is allowed, due to her outstanding grades and well playing, to be in the band. At first her parents were suspicious because the kids were all two til three years older than her innocent Dahlia.
But surprisingly the others hadn't a problem with her joining the band they were even keen. Mostly all of them.
"Can you maybe bring me to her?"
"Your sister said she's going to a friend too, she'll drop you there," she explains.
"Great," she comments. Well since Dahlia joined the band at the end of her freshman year, her sister hears her name more often from her friends having no spare time of her.
"I don't know where your problem is"
"Well since I joined her some of her friends in the band she hates me."
"She doesn't mean it like this. I think she's scared you're stealing her friends."
"That was a year ago and I haven't, not even one. Just Val," and that was the point.
Valerie and Serena were friends, best friends until high school started for them but Valerie and Dahlia became friends after two years off their "break up".
It wasn't pretty , it was filthy to be honest but it was Serena's fault mostly but that's yesterday's news.
"You're breaking the news to her," the young girl says as she exits the car.
When Dahlia entered her room the first thing she does is to put her glasses into its case, the second thing is to pack her suitcase for the weekend, during the drive home she clarified that she'd stay the whole weekend at her friend's house.
"I'm not driving you there," her sister rushes into the room.
"Well good afternoon to you too, sister," she comments.
"But it's literally on your way. You're even driving her road," dahlia adds.
"But I have to stop right in front of her home," Serena argues.
"I'd jump out the car," the brunette suggests.
"That's a great idea," she turns around and leaves as fast as she got in.
She's so dump Dahlia thought.
"I'm leaving on 6.30" Serena shouted through the door and a smile creeped on Dahlia's lips. She continues to push her things into the suitcase.
"You're moving out?" Her younger brother questions as she wandered to the stairs.
"Shut up."
"Just that you know. Mom says if you blow up the house she puts you up for adoption," she announced as her feet steps on the first stair.
"You ready?" Dahlia nodds and followed her sister behind.
The car ride was covered with silence, neither of them said a single word until they arrived at the front of Valerie's house.
"Thanks for driving me Serena," Dahlia gave her a weak smile as she grabs her suitcase and moved the way to the front.
"You're finally here," Valerie throws the door open and pulled her inside.
"Had Serena really droped you here?" Dahlia nodds, waving Val's parents as they walked past them.
"Hello dear. Nice to see you again," her mother greeted the brunette.
"You'll find us upstairs," she tells them.

anonymous said: Finn Wolfhard x Reader where the reader has been Finn's girlfriend for a long time after Millie admits she doesn't like him but as soon as she breaks up with __ (Jacob S?) she comes crawling back to Finn and reader gets jealous?
Tumblr media
‘Millie, are you sure you don’t like him?’ you asked,’ I just don’t want to come in between anything. Y’know?’ you said finishing your sentence to Millie.
' Y/N, Of course, I don't like him, I-' she stopped going to hold your hand,' I am fully committed to Jacob' Her British accent ringing through your ears.
' Okay, Okay Thank you so much!' You gleamed as you hugged her and ran off to find Finn.
[++]
That was 6 months ago. To say Finn and your relationship hadn't blossomed would be a lie. You guys got together two weeks after your conversation with Millie.
To say it wasn't hard to date him while making sure not to rub it in Millie's face. Would be a lie.
It was so hard to keep the kisses secret and the hugs, but you guys managed to keep it on the down low.
Then everything changed when Millie broke up with Jacob.
[++]
' Finn, she's going to want you.' You pleaded trying to get through to your boyfriend.
' Hey, Listen even if she does, I want you. You only.' Finn reassured you.
' Besides, She'll probably be too hung up over Jacob to even want me.' Finn added kissing you on the cheek and going to lie down on his couch.
[++]
Even with Finn's reassuring you couldn't help but think that he was wrong. She liked him before what could stop her this time. You became really observant after that conversation and finn being famous never helped.
You would notice how she would always sit beside him in table readings, at lunch. She would whisper things to him and he would giggle. You never meant to be this paranoid, it's just that insecurities never seemed to stop when you're dating a celebrity. It's even worse that the entire world seemed to ship Fillie.
It all reached the ceiling when Millie invited him back to her trailer after a shoot. Finn oblivious to what she was doing said yes.
' Caleb, Caleb can I talk to you?' you said knocking on his trailer door. Sniffling your way through the sentences.
Caleb knew what was happening since you told him everything. Everything. He began to be your only solace.
' What did he do this time,' Caleb asked leading you to his sofa in his trailer.
You sat crisscross on his couch and began talking,' Millie invited him to her trailer and he said yes. He said yes after I told him everything. After I told him I was worried.' You cried searching the room for a tissue.
' Here,' Caleb whispered as he handed you a tissue,' Y/N, you need to start standing up for what you want. Talk to Millie and talk to Finn. Tell them everything.' He explained hugging you.
You nodded grabbing your stuff and making your way outside. The air was crisp and you could feel the wind rushing through your hair as the tears that were once on your face dried off.
You made your way to Millie's trailer and using all the strength you had, you knocked on her door. Twice.
' Y/N, Hey, How are you ' She asked opening the door wider and motioning for you to come in.
' We need to talk ' you confessed wrapping your arms around yourself.
' Of course, What about?' she asked.
' You and Finn, Before you say anything you broke up with Jacob and now you want Finn. Millie, please. Please stop I can't compete with you for Finn.' you gulped,' I'm not you and I can't do this anymore please, please stop.' you pleaded.
You stepped out of the trailer and went to Finn's. You couldn't do this any other time. You couldn't.
[++]
You found yourself sitting in his trailer watching him play around with his guitar. He would look over at you waiting if you would say something but the couch cushions seemed to interest you more than confronting your boyfriend.
' Y/N look-'
' Finn look-'
You both said interrupting each other. Finn let out a chuckle and put his guitar down beside him, swiveling his chair towards you.
' Nothing happened when we went to her trailer. She told me she liked me and I told her that it was you and it'll always be you, no matter what.' he assured running his hands through his hair.
' And I told her that I couldn't compete with her because I don't compare with her in any way shape or form' You confessed playing with your fingers.
He looked at you in a way that hurt you. The insecurities had a bigger impact on him than you though. Each hurtful word about yourself eating him like a bullet.
' Look, I know you're insecure but you're everything I would want. Just because I'm famous doesn't mean you deserve me any less. I love you so much and God help me if my fans or anyone else make you feel like you don't deserve me or my love.' Finn exclaimed.
Noone was going to get you away from him.

No one's POV
Year 845: The day when wall Maria fell
"(Y/N)! Thomas! It's time for breakfast!" Gloria shouted from the dining room. Thomas, (Y/N)'s father, was sitting with (Y/N) in the living room. One of them busy with paperwork and the other with an interesting book borrowed from Erwin. (Y/N) didn't have training sessions with Erwin for a while, as he was on an expedition. He was supposed to return by now, but, he would be going to Wall Rose directly. (Y/N) kept her book down and followed her father out of the room to the dining room. "(Y/N), I cooked potato pancakes for you. Aren't they your favourite?" Gloria, (Y/N)'s mother told (Y/N) with a smile.
"Thank you" (Y/N) said softly, with her usual frown etched up on her face. It pained both Gloria and Thomas (L/N) that their adoptive daughter, no, they saw (Y/N) as nothing less than their own child, couldn't show emotions properly. It started after the incident with Jacob, one that they regretted ever since it happened. Only if they had the faintest idea of what that wretched man was doing to their beloved daughter... They consulted doctors from wall Rose to make sure (Y/N) is back to normal but the doctors only told them to be careful and not let (Y/N) get hold sharp objects.
They assumed (Y/N)'s aggression had something to do with her past in the underground, much like her self harming habits. They didn't know, however, that this would only push (Y/N) away from them. It's true that (Y/N) couldn't show emotions properly, but, that didn't mean the (L/N)s would love her any less. The day passed by normally, and just as Gloria was washing their plates for lunch, with the help of (Y/N), there was the sound of a huge explosion. "Gloria, stay with (Y/N) inside the house. I'll go see what that was" Thomas told the two of them before getting out. They waited for about fifteen minutes before a Garrison soldier knocked at their home.
"The wall of Shiganshina is breached! Gloria-san, your husband is helping with the evacuation. We need you to go to the barracks and gear up." the soldier said hastily. "Okay. Cadet Schultz, take (Y/N) to the evacuation boats. I'll catch up later" Gloria told him calmly. (Y/N) was witnessing everything. She knew enough about titans. She read about them in the books of Erwin's library. "Mom, I want to go with you" she told Gloria. Gloria looked at (Y/N)'s eyes, surprised that her eyes showed more emotions than she ever saw her express. There was fear, concern, love... "Honey, it's dangerous. I promise I'll be back before you know it with your dad." Gloria smiled as she felt (Y/N) hug her tightly. She knew that the chances of making through this was low. Very low. "Go now. We will be fine." she told (Y/N) before sending her off to the boats.
(Y/N) was sitting on the boat, hugging her legs. There were too many people here and she couldn't see any of her parents. There were no other soldiers here on this boat. "Maybe the soldiers are coming on a different boat?" (Y/N) thought. When the boat docked in Wall Rose, (Y/N) saw Erwin Smith standing there on the dockyard. She pushed through the crowd to go to him. When she reached him, she asked, "Are my mom and dad okay? Where are they?". "(Y/N), we don't have news about the soldiers fighting there yet. We will know by the next day. Right now, I need you to come with me. You won't be staying with the refugees as it is not safe. I arranged a home for you. You'll get good food, good clothes and a good place to sleep there." Erwin explained with a smile.
(Y/N) held his hand and went to the place he mentioned. It was a government run orphanage. Erwin mentioned that he had to pay money to let them take an extra child at this time. The matron looked like a kind motherly looking woman to (Y/N). "Be nice to everyone. Okay? I'll bring news about your parents as soon as I can." Erwin told (Y/N) with a kind smile before he left. (Y/N) remembered that something like this happened before.
"Don't be scared. You are safe now. No one will hurt you again." the blonde man told (Y/N) as he used a hairpin to unlock her cuffs. (Y/N) was huddled into a corner, scared that these men will take advantage of her like every other time. "It's okay. Everything will be okay. What's your name dear?" he asked with the same kind smile. "(Y/N)" (Y/N) managed to croak out. "Nice to meet you, (Y/N). I'm Erwin. Everything is going to be okay." he said, smiling. Everything didn't become okay.
"Was it happening again?" (Y/N) thought. "No. It can't be happening. They promised me that they will be back" (Y/N) brushed away the thought.
The next day
It was dawn. (Y/N) was sleeping on the bed assigned to her. The other children didn't talk to her yet as she spent most of her time in the matron's office. The matron was an amazing woman. She was nice to (Y/N), tried to give her as mental support as possible and made food almost as tasty as her mother. "(Y/N) dear? Wake up. Erwin Smith is here..." the matron called (Y/N), her face concerned. The whole orphanage was quiet, none of the other children were awake yet. (Y/N) walked towards the matron's office with the matron, a walk that seemed to go on for eternity. When she reached, (Y/N) saw Erwin sitting there, looking tired. "(Y/N)..." he started but (Y/N) interjected by saying, "They are dead, aren't they?".
There was no visible emotions in (Y/N)'s eyes. After all, she felt dead. Just her body was still functioning. It happened again. "Yes. Your parents died heroically, saving many citizens with their lives" Erwin told her, trying to make her proud. "They broke their promise. They left me too. They are no different from other people. They are just as bad as everyone else." (Y/N) stated, as if she was in a daze. "(Y/N), I'm sorry.." Erwin tried to say but (Y/N) stopped him. "It's not your fault, uncle Erwin. It's them." she told him, before walking to the bathroom. "I need something sharp..." she thought as she searched the bathroom for a blade.
A week later
The matron introduced (Y/N) to the other children as she decided that (Y/N) couldn't curl up in her office with a book forever. After all, (Y/N) was a permanent resident. There were twenty other children in the small orphanage. (Y/N) of course, didn't give any heed to their names at first because, of course, it was all pointless. What was the point of being alive anyway? What did she have left? Except her uncle Erwin? She was sure that he was strong enough to deal with her death anyway. He was the one who made her as strong as she is now.
It's because of him, she's still fighting. After the matron went away, telling (Y/N) to talk to the other kids, (Y/N) simply went to a corner of the room and start reading the book in her hand. It was the books and the agony in her body from the cuts she made on herself that kept her mind at bay from the death of her parents. She, of course, stole bandages from the matron's office to keep the bleeding at bay so that she wouldn't die. The cuts weren't too deep, just deep enough to sting for a whole day and heal up. She just had to make more cuts after it healed up.
"Oi brat, you think a newbie like you can just sit and read shit without working?" a young boy, much bigger than (Y/N) walked towards her, with another girl and a boy with him, all of them bigger than her. (Y/N) merely looked up from the book with a vacant expression. "Don't give me this look, you shit! Go do the dishes!" he shouted. "Isn't the matron supposed to assign chores? I remember doing mine this morning." (Y/N) answered to him calmly. "Listen, newbie, we make the rules here. Go do the dishes!" the leader of the group tried to speak in a menacing voice.
"I refuse to do it unless the matron asks me to" (Y/N) simply answered but just as she did, the boy took the book from her hand and tore it in half. "You two, get her" he ordered the other two kids who started kicking (Y/N). (Y/N) could’ve easily beaten them up but she remembered the advice from Erwin. "Be nice to everyone" he said. (Y/N) didn't flinch even when they hit her in the areas with cuts, she was accustomed to pain. After all, she always had these habits and also went through training with Erwin.
These went on for a week. When those kids, Sean (the leader), Lena (the girl) and Paul (the other boy) found out that (Y/N) doesn't react to beatings, they started picking up on her in different ways. One day, they poured horse shit in her drawer full of clothes. The other day, they burnt all her books. (Y/N) still didn't move from her decision to do their chores for them. After a week, Erwin came to visit. Erwin decided to visit (Y/N) every week, to brush up on her training. Her training was complete before the fall of wall Maria, but, he still decided to spar with her sometimes, so that she wouldn't loose her practice.
Erwin also was fond of the small girl, almost as if she was his own daughter. It's true, Pixis asked him to train her in the first place and also got (Y/N) the place in the orphanage using his power in Trost, however, as Erwin trained her, he realized that she was going to be a deadly weapon if she ever joined the military, or the survey corps. Erwin, however, wasn't keen on her joining the survey corps due to the mortality rate. He didn't want (Y/N) to die as she was almost like the daughter he never had. Erwin was a ruthless person but, (Y/N) seemed to be one of the very few soft spots he had. As he sat in the matron's office, he saw a calm but angry looking (Y/N) enter the room. He figured something was wrong. "(Y/N), is everything okay?" was his first question to her.
"I don't like this place." (Y/N) simply replied. "Why is it? Did someone bother you?" Erwin asked, concerned. (Y/N) explained everything that happened in the past week to Erwin. "Why didn't you fight back then?" Erwin asked, quiet surprised that (Y/N) took a few beatings. (Y/N) wasn't the type of person who would take beatings without counterattacking. At least that was how it was during training. "You told me to be nice to everyone" (Y/N) grumbled. "Well, did you complain to the matron?" Erwin asked. "I did. She scolded them but that only increased the problem" (Y/N) explained.
"I see. Well, I know I told you to be nice to everyone but that doesn't mean you won't use self defence when required." Erwin advised. "So, I can beat them up?" (Y/N) asked, with an evil glint in her eyes. "Yes but stay in your limits. Don't make any permanent injury." Erwin said cautiously. (Y/N) was still a kid and kids couldn't be trusted much when they are angry. "Oh don't worry. I'll just scare them a bit." (Y/N) answered with a sly smile that worried Erwin even more. With that, they went to a nearby field to brush up on the training by sparring.
That night, (Y/N) sneaked into the matron's office to find a stack of newspapers. She saw the stack in the matron's shelf before when she took a book from there when she first arrived. After searching for a while, she found the newspaper she was looking for, the one from 6 years back. The one with the news of the murder of Jacob. After taking the newspaper, (Y/N) sneaked into the kitchen to get a knife.
She walked into the boy's dormitory to find Sean sleeping on his bed. "Oi, Sean" (Y/N) called out. "Huh? What?" Sean got up, still sleepy. "What the hell are you doing here. Are you really itching to get beaten?" he growled after seeing it was (Y/N) who called him. "I don't intend to have a single scratch by you on my body, Sean. However, I can't say the same for you" (Y/N) answered, putting in a psychotic smile on her face as she brought her knife out in the open as it glinted in the moonlight coming from the window in the room. The whole room of boys were awake now. (Y/N) suddenly threw the knife backwards, which stuck to a bed post along with the fabric of the night shirt of Paul near his hand, thus keeping his hand in place.
Paul was white with fear as it happened and (Y/N) simply said, "Paul, don't try to move or come at me with the knife. It's going to get in your stomach in that case". She then threw the Newspaper at the now intimidated Sean's face before saying, " Read the headline.". The whole room of boys were watching, scared by (Y/N)'s sudden change in demeanour. "8 year old brutally kills soldier". Sean read before pausing. "(Y/N) (L/N), an 8 year old child from the Shiganshina district, killed Jacob Meyer, a garrison soldier from Thomas (L/N), (Y/N) (L/N)'s adoptive father's squad. Jacob's eyes were gauged out and throat was slit and his head was almost severed by what seemed like at least 20 stabs. About (Y/N) (L/N)'s past, all that is known is that she was rescued from a whorehouse in the upper class pleasure district in the underground..." Sean continued but his voice faded.
(Y/N)'s picture was drawn on the newspaper. They had no idea who they were messing with. "Well, that's enough. Now answer me, who else wants to end up like that piece of garbage?" (Y/N) asked in a cold voice. No one answered. "That's a good choice. Now," (Y/N) started as she moved towards Paul and pulled the knife out of the bedpost, "all of you, don't mention that I was here tonight. And yes, no one will be listening to these two worthless garbage here anymore or their so called friend. No one will do one extra work than what's assigned to them by the matron. Am I clear?" (Y/N) finished. Some kids were crying as they were intimidated but all of them nodded or muttered yes. "Good. Oh, and, don't bother me when I'm reading. Just leave me alone okay?" (Y/N) told before leaving the room with the newspaper and the knife so that she can keep those in place again without anyone realising.
Year 847:
It had been two years since (Y/N) started living in the orphanage. After that day, no one messed with (Y/N) again, and, no one listened to those three bullies ever again either. However, every good thing always came to an end. "Commander Smith, (Y/N) is already 16 years old. She's an adult now and we usually look for a groom for anyone who is of age in our orphanage. If you gave me the permission, I would've looked for someone suitable" the matron told Erwin. Erwin was called to the orphanage after (Y/N)'s so called 16th birthday according to her birth certificate. "Well, I suppose? I just didn't think that she will get married so soon..." Erwin started but (Y/N), who was also sitting in the room and listening to the conversation, stopped him and said, "Exactly. I am not getting married so soon.".
"But (Y/N), you're of age and it's against orphanage policies..." the matron started but was interrupted by (Y/N) as she said, "I understand that. I'm joining the military.". "(Y/N), you are not joining the military." Erwin simply answered. "Why not? Am I not of age? Am I not allowed to make decisions now? If I'm old enough to get married, why am I not allowed to join the military?" (Y/N) asked casually. "(Y/N), it's dangerous unless if you join the military police." Erwin sighed. He knew where it was going. "You really think I will join the military police, Uncle Erwin? I'm joining the Survey Corps. I'll kill those bastards who took my parents away from me." (Y/N) said as the matron shouted, "Language (Y/N)!".
