Funny thing how anger cancels sadness. If you are sad because of someone, if you miss someone you shouldn't miss, you will feel so much better if you find a reason to be angry with them, to hate them, to blame them. All the sadness will be replaced in an instance. And I wonder how much did Will and Hannibal try to make the villain of the other just do they wouldn't have to feel the sting of being abandoned. Just so they could hate the other. But they probably learnt that you could hate and miss someone at the same time. And then they probably realized that the hatred was a lie they were telling themselves just so they could sleep at night. Cause if they had called it "love" from the start, being apart would have killed them both
doodling some fox!kuya first time Quincy meeting thoughts >
“Your bedside manner leaves a lot to be desi-rauugh!” Kuya’s snark rattled into a screech as Quincy applied the cloth to his wound, pressing his fingers firmly either side of the arrowhead and pulling. Kuya’s instinct was to swiftly turn around and bite exactly as predicted, but Quincy’s instinct was faster. With his free hand, he grabbed Kuya by the neck scruff and held him firm.
“I said, I’ll not lose a finger to an ungrateful fox.”
“I have very little to - ah - be grateful for,” Kuya panted, unable to move, while Quincy tossed the arrowhead to the side and made work of tending the open wound. He dabbed it a few final times for good measure, then rummaged around in his bag for a clean piece of cloth to dress it with. As he tightened the bandage in place, he wiped down the fox’s fur, seeking to remove the drying blood from it. When Kuya frowned in response, he simply shrugged.
“Blood will draw other predators to you, in your weakened state.” He placed the blood-stained cloth back into his satchel. “My hands smell of poison not because I set that trap, but because I was disarming others like it. I didn’t reach this one in time,” he gestured to the arrowhead. “Poachers. They don’t adhere to the laws of the forest. They just care about money. They sell ruined furs and poisoned meat. Currently, you are both.”
“I refer you to my previous statement regarding bedside manner,” Kuya replied drolly.
I was prematurely freaked out earlier this week - things are actually looking good for me at work, I think. I always just get uneasy, especially because in the US (well, depending on state?) people just suddenly get all their accounts deactivated the same day and they're immediately gone without notice.
It's hard to believe. It's hard to take in. It's just... hard.
It doesn't seem real, doesn't seem like it could be real yet it is. It's real, it happened and the hole that has been left will be void for a long time.
We didn't know him, not like that. But we all appreciated him. His name and his legacy touched the hearts of millions and millions of people and shed a much needed light on times that were grim and gray.
There will never be another like him.
Things will not be the same with him gone.
He is free now. Gone from this mortal place and has ascended to his rightful claim of Godhood because there is no doubt that he would settle for any lesser title.
i hate that growing up means better getting to know the people around me.
can we go back to braiding each others hair and playing hop scotch? your opinions on basic human rights, and your use of religion to justify them, are scaring me.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who submitted their amazing pieces this week. They are all so amazing, and I continue to be blown away by the sheer talent of this fandom.
Thank you also to the dedicated fans who keep reblogging and hyping up the fest. This fest gets so much love from Carry On community, and it truly means the world to me.
It is because of you all that I keep COTTA running each year.
I will be putting together a Master List of all the COTTA submissions, so look for that in the coming week. In the meantime, check out the COTTA 2022 collection on AO3.
I haven't been checking tumblr much because I was playing Paranormasight followed by Spirit Hunter: NG (finally!). both ended up being pretty great character-wise but Paranormasight's plot gripped me more of the two.
