The last thing Leo Valdez expected was to see Y/n L/n in bunker nine.

Crouched beside a large metal frame, her oil stained hands made rapid movements as the machine shuddered and emitted a grey fog across the bunker. Although Leo guessed the contraption was about to combust, he couldn’t help but fix his gaze on the girl in front of him.

it had been almost a year since he had seen her last, her previously long, dyed hair was now tied back out of her face, the dye settled at the ends of her hair like dripping paint. Her natural black hair created the perfect silhouette for her face, emphasising her sea-green eyes and her ethereal seeming features. She seemed tired, but happier, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

“Y/n?” Leo stammered. “When did you get here?”

The girl looked up and smiled a cheeky grin back in response, before giving the machine one final thump with a mallet before it spurred to life, clanking and clunking, gradually clearing the grey smog from the room.

She stood up, wiping her slender hands on what appeared to be a pair of school trousers. It seemed as if she had just left school, which was impossible. Her school was miles and miles away, surely she wouldve had time to change. Besides, School finished up almost a month ago in America.

Before Leo could decide whether an “I missed you so so much ” or a “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back early??” was a better thing to say, he was engulfed in her arms, her familiar ocean and oil smell frying his brain for a split second.

“Man, I’ve missed you, Leo. Sorry for rooting around in your bunker without asking you, I thought you’d already be in here and then I got a bit distracted I guess”

She explained how she arrived early after some empousai attacked her boarding school in Birmingham, causing the year to finish early. As for why she was in her uniform still, Apollo still owed her a favour from when he was turned mortal, so she asked him to bring her to camp half blood.

As they left bunker nine and headed to dinner hand in hand, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a thick square wrapped gift.

“didnt think I forgot your birthday, did you?” As she handed him the present he looked at her sceptically. “Did you for real get me a book for my birthday? I mean damn, I love you and all, but a book? seriously?”

Regardless, he carefully unwrapped the vibrant paper around the gift, revealing a red leather book with the title bearing “Esperanza Valdez”. Speechless, Leo shot you a careful glance before opening the book. Inside was a handwritten note.

“Cariño, you told me once that you would do anything to have a picture of your mother, beside the newspaper clippings from that night. You told me it was pointless though, because it was impossible. That your family would never even talk to you again, let alone give you anything of your mother. You have given me what I thought was impossible. Love, acceptance. A place to go. I think it’s time for me to return the favour. Mi vida, mi alma, mi sol. Te amare por siempre. Feliz cumpleaños, mi amor.” ^

Leo flicked through the pages in disbelief. The inside of the book was filled with scrapbooked pictures of his mother in her youth, all the way to pictures of her mother holding him with his grandparents, his mother playing legos with him, his mother and him going about their life, content. Before the accident. When he got to the last page he couldn’t hold it in anymore. He collapsed into her arms, sobbing a mixture of grief and gratitude, all while she stroked his hair and waited for him to calm down.

When he had done so, she asked if he wanted her to read him the final page, a crinkled handwritten note carefully glued into the final page

“Necesito ir a comprar algunas cosas a las tiendas, hijo. Si te despiertas antes de que regrese, no tengas miedo. Volveré tan pronto como pueda. llamar a nuestro vecino si algo sucede. ¡Te amo! -Mami”. ^^

It was heartbreaking how something so mundane can cause such Greif - A note from Leo’s mom for his child self not to worry as she went shopping in the early morning. Leo had never had anything like it, a note written by his mother, her *handwriting*, it felt so surreal. He remembered reading the note as a child, waiting patiently by the door for his mothers return. But now there was no door to wait by, no mother to walk through it. He looked up at y/n with tear filled eyes.

“How did you even get these? I know Aunt Rosa didn’t give them to you, no way.”

And so she explained how she sought out Clios, the Greek patron of history, and did many complicated and time consuming, and some straight up ridiculous quests in exchange for old photos of his mother. The handwritten note had been a “tip” for doing such a good job on the quests.

Leo was completely shocked. How - *why* would someone do all this for *him*? He thought to himself how he didn’t deserve such a wonderful partner such as y/n, such a kind and thoughtful human was surely wasting their time being with *him*.

Despite his thoughts & tears, the two of them made it to dinner, where Leo showed piper and Jason the pictures of his mom and him. It was too personal, too raw to share with anyone else yet. And after Leo’s 20th “thank you so so much I love you the most anyone has ever loved ever” they finally blew out the candles on the cake, and when anybody asked, Leo was sure to tell them that it was the best birthday he ever had.

This is Tyr'na Sol Valdez, a cocky half-ryphorian/drow tiefling space pirate! who is used to getting what she wants and who she wants thanks to growing up on Apostae where tieflings are actually wanted. When off-planet she claims to be an Aasimar instead citing her golden marks as clear signs of her celestial lineage, all in order to maintain the treatment she's used to getting.

incidentally she also happens to be cursed by Lamashtu and has a were-demon form partially based on the Draegloth.

unfortunately our dm got cold feet at the last second and left the server an hour before session so I haven't had to chance to play her yet, however my other starfinder dm felt she was perfect for one of her npcs and asked if she could use the design in her game, I said yes and now named Zarlass she has quickly become the players favourite npc.

El Origen de NuovoAluzan

En el Chile de 1953, existía un lugar aparentemente mágico que solo llego a conocerse por pocos en aquella época, los chilenos solo lo mencionaba como una leyenda urbana que logro perderse en el tiempo. Este lugar se llamaba Nuevo-Nueva Andalucía, un proyecto inmobiliario de un multimillonario de la industria minera que proponía una ciudad piloto donde tenían cabida todas las filosofías, religiones y políticas, donde se desarrollaría tecnologías maravillosas, y que sin planearlo a propósito, se albergaba el futuro de todo el planeta que sería recordado como NuovoAluzan, toda una utopía. En esta historia única eran Alex Tavira y Sofía Valdez, un matrimonio de jóvenes e idealistas científicos, apasionados por el proyecto de Nuevo-Nueva Andalucía. Desarrollan una computadora que les ayudara a calcular los recursos para esta comunidad a la que llaman “La Piedra del Cóndor”, en base a un personaje mitológicos de los pueblos de norte de chile que tenía el poder forjar el destino de los hombres.

Un día, mientras caminaban en los parques del proyecto inmobiliario, Alex y Sofía hicieron un descubrimiento sorprendente. Encontraron una piedra con un extraño resplandor azul. Cuando se acercaron a la piedra comenzó a brillar intensamente y, de repente, ambos se empezaron a sentir más fuertes y con mejor salud, hasta empezaron a flotar en el aire y a volar, Alex y Sofía llevaron la piedra al laboratorio del recinto donde la examinaron, al poco tiempo, los habitantes del lugar empezaron a desarrollar poderes asombrosos, agilidad, fuerza sobrehumana, con el tiempo esto se extendió a todos los habitantes de la tierra, al principio se pensó que era una nueva enfermedad, pero en realidad nadie estaba verdaderamente enfermo, con el paso del tiempo las décadas y los siglos, las enfermedades fueron erradicadas, la tierra empezó a terraformarse de manera tal que se adaptó a las nuevas habilidades que los hombres comenzaron a tener, la humanidad empezó a encontrarse con ciudades flotantes, un desarrollo tecnológico sin paralelo algún, pero lamentablemente este evento que cambio a la humanidad no erradico la envidia o el rencor, y los ahora Nuevo-Nuevo Andaluces que pueblan todo el planeta, empezaron organizarse en facciones y hacer la guerra.

Alex 23 y Sofía 23, hermanos mellizos, descendientes del matrimonio de Alex Tavira y Sofía Valdez, a pesar que se amaban como hermanos, cada uno era representante de los extremos de este conflicto, Alex estaba enlistado en una de las milicias que luchaban en esta titánica guerra de facciones y Sofía formaba parte de los grupos que se manifestaban en contra de estas guerras, pero ambos estaban de acuerdo en que se debía acabar las guerras de las facciones. En un momento de la guerra de las facciones, Elio, el líder de la facción más extremista de este conflicto, engañan a la computadora “La Piedra del Cóndor” creada hace siglo por el matrimonio de Alex y Sofía, y que ahora era una sofisticada IA que ayudaba a la humanidad, y además, albacea del arsenal de armas nucleares sellado hace siglos con el fin de que los países hicieran compromisos por la paz, pero esta vez el compromiso se rompió, y se lanzaron cientos de cabezas nucleares en todo el mundo para acabar definitivamente con la guerra, en un momento, la facción enemiga de Elio irrumpió en el salón donde se gestó en el engaño a la computadora para lanzar las cabezas atómicas, echando abajo la pesada puerta de 1 cm. de Acero, quien lideraba las fuerzas contrarias era Alex 23, quien grito: ¡¡No debió haberlo hecho…!!, en ese momento las facciones comenzaron a luchar en el salón, mientras las cabezas nucleares hacían polvo a las ciudades donde caían, convirtiendo el verde y hermoso planeta tierra en un páramo desértico en cuestión de horas, pasado un tiempo, la última cae en el recinto del salón donde estaba luchando las milicias de Elio y Alex 23, en un segundo, una luz cegadora y un calor más fuerte que el sol, hizo pedazos el recinto, lo único que no logro hacer pedazos a los soldados que luchaban en aquel lugar, gracias a su supercapacidad y resistencia heredada por años por sus antepasados, terminaron desmayados y algunos enfermos, con este acto de locura, la guerra termino, millones de muertos y cientos de enfermos debido al efecto secundario de la radiación por encima de su superfuerza.

La decisión de reconstruir el mundo fue unánime, reconstruyeron sus ciudades, los soldados se convirtieron en hombres de paz dedicados a crear tecnologías para que ninguno de sus hijos y nietos tuvieran que pasar necesidades, conforme al paso de las generaciones, empezaron a surgir no tan solo hombres con más resistencia a la contaminación radioactiva, sino también una generación más creativa, más inteligente, más pacífica, algo como los hippies de la década 60s del siglo XX, pero sin las drogas, toda un nuevo pensamiento surgió que con el tiempo rebautizaron a este mundo como NouvoAluzan. Ya pasado otro ciento de generaciones más; los seres humanos se volvieron más autoindulgente, solo una nueva pareja de jóvenes científicos se resistió a este pensamiento, Alex Tav, quien junto con su esposa, Sofía Alex Tav empezaron a ver que esta preciosa utopía estaba empezando llegar a su fin, NouvoAluzan se volvía viejo, agonizaba y pronto moriría, Alex Tav se anticipó a este apocalípsis y construyo una nave espacial, para cuando el planeta NouvoAluzan se desquebraja por dentro y explota, la nave de Alex Tav sale expulsada hacia el espacio profundo, llevando consigo la semilla de un nuevo mundo.

La candidatura única y antidemocrática del nuevo cacique de la UAGro, Javier Saldaña Almazán. La Comisión Electoral del desprestigiado y manipulable Consejo Universitario de la Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero, rechazó los registros a la rectoría de la doctora Silvia Alemán Mundo y del ingeniero Jorge Luis Urióstegui Train, por no cumplir con los requisitos

establecidos en el Estatuto General, en lo referente al elevado número de consejeros requeridos para avalar candidaturas y que la Ley Orgánica no estipula. El rector de facto aumentó a su conveniencia los requisitos para seguir medrando de la institución. El viernes 5 de mayo se llevó a cabo el registro de aspirantes a la rectoría y al siguiente día, la Comisión Electoral del nada honorable Consejo Universitario, emitió el dictamen de en beneficio de Saldaña Almazán, que contó con el respaldo de 196 consejeros de un total de 204, -casi por unanimidad- semejante a los regímenes antidemocráticos y autoritarios. El día del registró se observó un demencial derroche de recursos y un descomunal acarreo de estudiantes, traídos ex profeso de los planteles escolares diseminados en la entidad, quienes recibieron sus tortas y algún líquido; además que serán aprobados en sus exámenes, constituyéndose un fraude académico auspiciado por la ambición desmedida de Saldaña por adueñarse de la Máxima Casa de Estudios.

El próximo tri-rector se vanaglorió de haber reunido a 20 mil simpatizantes, lo que implicaría la contratación de 500 autobuses de primera clase con un costo conservador de 5 millones de pesos. A éste monto habría que sumar los cuantiosos gastos de logística del evento y la alimentación de los numerosos contingentes, todo a cargo del presupuesto de la Universidad o de dinero malhabido. La contra-marcha de los aspirantes rechazados, resultó simbólica y testimonial, en comparación con la marcha multitudinaria del nuevo cacique, que está generando inconformidades nunca vistas. Sin duda, se está incubando el huevo de la serpiente. A mediano plazo se podría adquirir mayor conciencia universitaria, tendiente a desterrar prácticas antidemocráticas y caciquiles de su alma máter. El reparto del pastel y el tráfico de calificaciones, serán la constante, así como el crecimiento de la riqueza inexplicable del rector de facto, cuyo lema “Lo mejor está por venir”, tiene un mensaje político futurista: Usar a la UAGro, como trampolín político hasta encumbrarse en el poder estatal por el partido que sea. La gobernadora Evelyn Salgado y el ex gobernador Ángel Aguirre, han puesto énfasis en la necesidad de brindar la mayor atención a la región hasta conducirla hacia el desarrollo, a través de inversiones en sectores productivos, obras de infraestructura y programas sociales; porque de otra manera, permanecerá el statu quo y se profundizaría la criminalidad y su derivados, como la violencia, la inseguridad y la migración.
