booping was fun but also i see a lot of people romanticizing how easy it is to connect to people thru booping etc and like i get it but also i'm horrified by the increasing unwillingness to go thru the ordeal to like ... actually connect to people unless it is in some parasocial form (booping, liking posts, etc.) as opposed to, you know ... actually talking lol. imo that's the biggest shift there's been on this website like idk remember when we used to reblog each other's posts and comment without fear of being cringe

I think a lot of people in fandoms kinda don't appreciate how canonicity is often very fuzzy... and isn't even entirely what they think it is.

For a start, everyone is going to interpret a work slightly differently. So much of what characters are feeling, what they're thinking, what their motives are at any given moment is left up to people to intuit and guess, especially in visual mediums. Different people are going read the same characters and the same scenarios very differently, and when asked to describe what "canonically" happened, might describe very different events.

Some interpretations end up being more popular than others, and are widely considered canon, even though they really... aren't?

Also, internal contradictions are often a thing in media, especially when there's multiple creators, or when one creator has been working for so long they can't remember every detail. What's canon in the movie isn't always canon in the tie-in comic, or the novelization, or the third sequel, or the spinoff cartoon series, or whatever.

Statements by official creators are often considered canon, but since they aren't actually in the text of the work itself, they're what you'd consider paratext. The canonicity of paratext is often debatable, especially when it contradicts the text itself, or is contradicted by subsequent texts, or when it just feels out of nowhere and doesn't enhance anyone's enjoyment of the source text.

Also? Every fanfic is technically its own canon. Your fic might include elements that aren't canon to the original author's work, but they're still canon within the context of your work.

ah I just randomly gave myself 20d6 psychic damage by realizing that,,, you never know when your internet friends might die. and then all you’ll have left of them is the silence that cuts through what was just signs of a vibrant life on their social media posts or discord messages or whatever. you’ll forever be able to look back on your memories together but at what cost. you can’t talk to them anymore. they’re gone and these are just memories.

I started exploring my first chasm for the robbie quest and whewww. Really just getting started here huh

Narae was originally supposed to debut with Lightsum but Cube decided she wasn't a good fit and a staff member even commented that she was too old to debut. She trained with the girls for a very long time and is close to the members.

She's a lover of 90's and early 2000's pop/r&b and is also a huge fan of the girl group XG, which she makes obvious by her numerous tiktok and instagram posts dancing to their songs.

Paris Hilton is Naraes icon. She's always admired her for her confidence, determination and smarts despite the image that the public has of her in mind.

Her contract was due to be terminated until her Father stepped in and invested a large sum of money into the company under the condition that Narae would stay.

Her addition to the group was teased slowly and deliberately with Narae appearing as a background dancer during various performances including on Queendom. Eventually, she started appearing in members' Instagram posts before fans finally noticed her popping up with the girls in vlogs, practicing and interacting a lot with them.

She was officially announced as the newest member in May 2020. and debuted during the group's summer release "DUMDi DUMDi".

After Soojins scandal, Narae gathered a lot of anti-fans for a while, some claiming she conspired against her to have her kicked out or that Narae rich family bribed the company to defame Soojin so that Narae could get more attention.

Although the accusations and hate did get to Narae especially because she was close to Soojin and had known her for a very long time, both attending Waw Middle School and Korean Arts High School together. She looked up to her with both girls being into jazz dance and all. Naturally, netizens found this information out and became even more convinced that Narae was envious of Soojin and competing against her.

She looks up to Soyeon and often goes to her for advice and is constantly praising the leader, often commenting that Soyeon is like your favorite childhood teddy bear that you cling to for comfort. The two also have very cute interactions together with Soyeon almost appearing like a caring Mother figure to Narae and fans say she brings out the leader's cute and caring side.

She's become more popular within the last year and a half and now has far more supporters than haters. The girls have always been very supportive and welcoming towards her which has helped her cope over the past few years.

With the help of Soyeon, Narae learned how to produce music and takes part in writing and producing for the group and other ones under the name "Rae Rae". She often writes and produces songs for other groups and artists. She gets paid more by doing that.

btw i’m confused because everyone said she’s in us finally because she posted a picture of a dwd poster in the cinema but the posters are only in america now and also she took the picture at i think 7 am uk time? so it made perfect sense but turns out she was in copenhagen with him and i don’t know how it all works

Tbh I don’t follow her and the stunt at all apart from what I see here and am unable to avoid but trust me that a photo from a us theatre posted on her ig means absolutely nothing regarding her actual location (wasn’t that the one where she said a new trailer is being cut?) - there’s a large team involved in the film promo, I doubt she’s the only one in charge of her ig and these photos are often prepared beforehand to use when they want to promote something, eg get people abuzz that a new trailer is being cut.

as i get later into my chronically online years i start to wonder if, just maybe, all this time i'm spending online is making me. less cool.
