History is instructive. What it suggests to people is that even if they do little things, if they walk on the picket line, if they join a vigil, if they write a letter to their local newspaper... Anything they do, however small, becomes part of a much larger sort of flow of energy. And when enough people do enough things, however small they are, then change takes place.

Steve hosted the Q&A Panel after the London screening of Lorna Tucker's new film 'Someone's Daughter, Someone's Son'
The film is a truly thought-provoking and emotional piece of work. I definitely recommend giving it a watch if you can. Just make sure to bring the tissues.
You can learn more about the film via the link below:
If you're in the UK, please consider writing to your MP asking for them to create more affordable social housing, establish more projects for wraparound care for the homeless, and expand treatment for addition and mental health.

The early Quakers were not content with ideas of renewal or reform. They used the much more radical language of all things being overturned in the power of Christ's direct teaching.

Social/Political Action #1
While at the Common Ground Country Faire in Maine over the weekend, I was signing a petition to put mandatory paid family medical leave on the ballot.
A passerby started commenting loudly to the worker behind the desk, “it won’t happen, just sayin’. I don’t see it happenin’.”
The poor worker looked tired and defeated, replying, “I have to try.”
After finishing the paperwork, I looked the worker and said (in reply to the doubter), “you know, they said the same thing about the 19th amendment in regards to women voting.”
The worker’s face lighting up made my weekend.

The problem with deplatforming a person as a form of social/political action is that what that actually looks like, and how to achieve it, can be frustratingly unclear.

Seed Bombs.....
I see lots of posts encouraging people to seed bomb golf courses.
I understand the intent behind this. However, I hope that seed bombing doesn’t result in greenkeepers using extra chemical herbicides to deal with all the unexpected plants that start popping up.
Just a thought....

Homesick
What if Tony had been too late to recruit Spider-Man to join the Avengers? There is someone else on Peter's trail, and the week before he shows up, James Rhodes had arrived to formally give Peter's acceptance to the Air Force academy. But is everything as it seems in a time when the Avengers have broken off from the Government's control and prejudice against mutants is at an all-time high? Peter, who just wanted to do his homework and get a free ride through college, is thrust into the world of war, tracking, sniping training, sharing barracks, making weapons, being a weapon and away from home. May, Ned, and Michelle enter a world of protest as they try to get New York's beloved vigilante back to the place where he belongs.

You find the light within us. You don’t find it within politics, but you find it in us. The soul is composed of love, compassion, wisdom, peace, and joy. Those are all in us. We have our attention all on the outside things, but we haven’t looked inside. When we look inside and reflect our soul, we radiate love, we radiate compassion, we radiate the things that the world needs at this point. All we have to do is be our being, and convince others to look inside. Then we have a group that will counteract the darkness.

Young and old people – those who have never lived without Roe v Wade and those who have – need to join together now and rise up – this is our future. Forcing women to have a baby is a form of control and violence. This MUST be a wakeup call, the alarm where we take to the streets and stay in the streets until this patriarchal madness ends.

Introductory post!
Hi and welcome to my blog :)
I’ve been in a fair share of situations- some good and some bad, and I know by experience that some people don’t even realize they’re coping unhealthily until someone points it out to them :(.
And that’s why I wanted to speak about coping mechanisms for my Social Action Project. During these few years of lockdown, I had many mental health ups and downs. My family suffered losses of loved ones that took a toll on all of us mentally, and I’m sure many others around the world went through similar, if not worse, situations. Resilience is a very necessary quality to have, but how should we bounce back from these stressful situations if we cant cope with them healthily?
Along the course of this blog, I will be talking about the importance of having a healthy coping mechanism, answering a few questions that I picked up while I was doing my research for this project, as well as talking about my coping mechanism, art, and how it helps me cope.
I hope this blog ends up proving useful to somebody :)                                           sending love.
