The phrase "death to Israel" expresses desire to end the state of Israel. As you are against this statement, you support the existence of the state of Israel. Zionism is the political ideology in support of the state of Israel. Thus, you are a Zionist. You also use the common Zionist logical fallacy of equating anti-Israel opinions with general antisemitism.

The one person with a bit of common sense. I don't support the state of Israel as it exists right now, I right hate the Israeli government. But I do support the existence of a Jewish homeland, since we aren't wanted anywhere else, and it should be around Jerusalem, as that is both the holy land and the ancestral home.

Now the problem is that you've decided I'm using logical fallacies, when in reality, I'm using logic just fine. There is a very fine line and I am more than willing to admit I don't always know where it is, people aren't always obvious with it. But there are hundreds of ways to say "6mil wasn't enough," and a lot of people in my inbox are saying just that. Here's the thing about this narrative that Palestinian resistance no matter what form is acceptable. Jewkilling cannot exist in a bubble. It cannot be politically neutral. 1000 years of European (and Arab) antisemitism culminating in genocide have ruined that. Sorry to Palestinian activists but that's just how it works. You can't murder a Jew without it being a tragedy, without it contributing to the continued global oppression of Jewish people.

And all that said, that's just if Hamas and others only targeted soldiers and police (or at least tried as best they could). The IRA didn't go out of its way to purposefully target noncombatants. Why? Probably because there isn't thousands of years of history of English people being seen as subhuman, there isn't thousands of years of anglophobic propaganda showing English people as twisted monsters preying on children and secretly undermining Irish society. The Irish national movement was not born because English refugees returned to their historical homeland and challenged the notion of Irish Supremacy. It was a pragmatic liberation movement. Resist military occupation, undermine military infrastructure designed to oppress the people. The descendants of English and Scottish settlers would even be allowed to stay if they had won. Imagine that.

These things are all tied up in each other. I'm against police brutality, I'm against the escalation and the militarization and the mistreatment of Arabs in Israel and in Judea & Samaria and Gaza and Golan and everywhere. But killing Jews can never be righteous. Sorry to anyone who feels that way but it can't. Antizionists NEED to understand that. Jews will always feel defensive and ready themselves for retaliation because of history, because of that context. And since Israel has mandatory military service the antizionist can surmise that no Jews are Innocent. An Israeli Jew cannot be a noncombatant. i'm leaving this blog for a long time if not forever. here's why.

i watched over half the dash, people i've been mutuals with for years, fall for horrific antisemitism in the name of attacking someone i love because they used academic language on a deeply reactionary website that doesn't think genocide requires you to use your brain when thinking about how to stop it.

i watched the word "zionist" get thrown at someone who isn't one in the slightest so many times the definition crumbled until people were using it to mean "i have decided you are evil in a jewish way". i saw them slandered with blatantly antisemitic conspiracy theories saying their family owns property in israel when they don't. i saw people i trusted fall for it and parrot those same theories with no evidence when fact-checking would have taken five? ten minutes? because that's how quick and eager people are to believe in an evil jew.

i used to love this place, this was the place for all of my teenage years and into my early 20s. i'm not deleting my blog, all of my posts will stay up, but i can't look at many of you the same ever again. it will never not make me sick to my stomach.

AITA for being snippy with my friend?

I (17) and my friend X (20) recently had a small altercation, but I can't stop thinking about it.

Some context, me and X have been friends off and on for about 4 years, and have had some rough patches throughout. in the past we had petty squabbles and when I was 15 I cut them off for a couple years, only to start talking to them again early 2023.

In the past X displayed some small hints of antisemitism (I am jewish) and mild dismissal of my feelings. When I was 15 I cut them off after a tiny conflict regarding supporting homophobic businesses resulted in me waking up to them tweeting about me seven times on their twitter (which we were mutuals on) and them telling our mutual friend they were walking on eggshells around me in a discord server we were all in.

over the past week I have been very sick with COVID-19, and extreme pain from my wisdom teeth that have left me unable to speak, I told X all of this. two nights ago they sent a story they wrote about their characters, and in another channel of the server talked about two of our characters. It was 9pm my time and I felt like trash, so I didn't bother replying to either since I knew they'd be going to sleep soon (they live in a timezone three hours later than mine)

I woke up yesterday to them saying how much it hurt their feelings that no one replied to either, saying "I don't care but I really do". I replied: "sorry I usually stop checking non pings at night when I'm sick".

they replied with: "no it's fine - I just think it's funny - so funny - Also ur not the only person in the server so LMFAO - I hope you don’t think it was directed at you" (dashes for different messages sent)

this really rubbed me the wrong way and even though I said it was fine it really made me uncomfortable. after our past experiences of them saying interacting with me was like "walking on eggshells" or them posting about me to their twitter, I've been thinking about it. they also have a tendency to come into dms to rant about mutual friends of ours, so I don't put it past them still doing that about me.

I normally really like them and enjoy their company, but seeing how they acted when I was sick and unwilling to speak really gave me a red flag. I'm considering stepping away for a little bit, but cutting contact again is also in the back of my mind. I'm just not sure what to do.

I finally stopped following Marina today. I'm sick and tired of her saying nothing in defense to the innocent people who were raped, kidnapped and murdered Oct 7. She only sympathizes with Gaza and Palestine. Not a single word for the Israeli women who were brutally raped or murdered. Not a word on all the Israeli children slaughtered and burned alive. Not a single word on any of the victims of Oct 7. It's literally everyday she posts about this and not a sympathetic word for Israeli children, women and all who suffered on Oct 7. She's suppose to be a feminist. 🙄 I think I'm done posting about Marina on my page. These are her recent posts. Sexy pictures while defending one side of the war and ignoring the other. No neutrality. Loudly anti-Semitic.

I am so disappointed by a lot of people this year (who showed their true colors) but none more then Marina.

I understand people have their opinions and whatever, but when your opinion is so grossly wrong...and you insist in that grossly wrong opinion daily...like come on.

I stopped paying attention to Marina. I stopped like a month ago. Her posts on IG was a daily dose of "cease fire" , "save the poor children of Gaza", "help Palestine"...etc. without a single mention of the atrocities Israel went through. Nothing on the Israeli babies placed in ovens and tortured to death. Nothing on bringing home the hostages. Nothing on all the little girls and women who were raped then executed. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Talk about a feminist. Yeah right.

The same thing goes with Shirley Manson. Not a single thing about what Israeli people have gone through, the horrible rapes, the hostages....all about saving Palestine and Palestinian children. What about Israeli children? Then Shirley goes on a rage when anyone brings up why she leaves out any sympathy for Israel's children.

The weapon here is children. And don't get me wrong, Palestinian children are innocent and as well as victims of Hamas and this war, but ignoring Israel and their children? What about the raped little girls and women? There were teenage girls literally raped and sodomized at that festival ground. Women too. One woman was decapitated and had her breast cut off. This was all on film. Why no sympathy for them? Or the hostages? Some of the young female hostages that were released are finally talking. Many of them were raped by their captors. Any sympathy from Marina or Shirley? No.

That's why if you noticed, Garbage's official IG has lost some followers these past few months. Shirley's the only one posting under the Garbage IG. The other guys are too old to give a shit about social media.

Marina's follower count is stuck in 1 million. It's been like that for the past 2 years. Stagnant, which tells me she doesn't get much follows.

You can smell a closeted antisemitic person just by what they post every damn day.

I remember when Lana signed that cease fire petition. That is all she did and she never promoted it on her social media. I don't agree with that petition at all, but Lana isn't badgering her followers every damn day about saving this country or that or opinionating about the war. That's why I'm still interested in her music.

Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes) posted only one time about saving Palestinian children. That was months ago. That was her only post. She's not badgering people daily. That's why I'm still interested in her music.

I took Marina and Garbage off my music library. I have physical CD's of them I plan on giving away for FREE. Like, these two women are basically dead to me. It saddens me because I was a fan of both for years. I have thousands of posts on my Tumblr site going back to 2011. If I had the time and energy, I would delete them all.

However, I don't have to pay them any mind or support their closeted antisemitic asses anymore.

On a side note, thank God Lana is no longer friends with Marina.

Marina was the one who fled and stopped following Lana after that Culture essay Lana wrote.

Finally, someone sane on this website about the Israeli/Hamas war! The amount of people I have had to unfollow who have reblogged posts about how “Israel is committing genocide” has made me sick to my stomach. And of course, they’re silent about how Hamas is massacring Israelis. I imagine most of them are just ignorant instead of anti-Semitic, but of course that is no excuse for spreading the lies perpetrated by people who want there to be a second Holocaust. I genuinely don’t understand—Hamas isn’t keeping it a secret that they want to kill Jews. It’s in their founding charter!

I have no doubt that there are a lot of sane people out there. There's a lot of people horrified by what Hamas has done. They're just not vocal about it, because they feel like expressing themselves in regards to the Israeli-Arab conflict is like stepping into the firing line. The issue is... why don't people spewing hate against Israel feel that way? That's the problem, that their hate-driven narrative has become common enough on this site to seem acceptable, when it absolutely is not. There is NO justification for massacre. Full stop.

Then there's some really wonderful people, mostly Jews, and a couple of Israelis, who do post regularly about this. If you follow the reblog chain, you can find a lot of excellent posts. They're just sadly not being widely circulated, so these voices get drowned out.

And then there are also some amazing allies, some really incredible people, who have been there for their Jewish friends. They reach out, they try to help, they reblog whenever they can. They deserve a lot of love, especially on a toxic site like this.

As for those spreading the hateful posts justifying the massacre of over 1,400 innocent people... I'm sure at least some of them truly are uninformed. The issue is... how informed do you need to be to understand that killing babies and raping teenage girls is wrong!? That nothing can make it morally acceptable? But even before Oct 7, I would say that the test for these people is whether they're willing to listen. When Jews point out that we're actually native to Israel, are they willing to hear us out? Take the time to look up our history? Are they willing to learn about the persecution of Jews before the establishment of Israel? Or do they double down on a narrative that frames Palestinians as victims, and only victims, and Israelis as villains, and only villains, without any room for complexity?

To me, that's what separates the uninformed from the antisemitic. Because if you're not antisemitic, then you should care about Jews enough to listen to us, as we point out lies and distortions being told about us. If you don't have the resources to study the history of the conflict in depth? Fair enough, but then don't actively participate in spreading lies that harm Jews. If you can't do either one of these...

Antisemitic hatecrimes are steadily rising. I don't know how it is in your country, but in mine, democracy is crumbling and descent into fascism has already begun. Anti-Jewish ideology is becoming more and more normalised in western society, and whilst that's due in part to the persistant neonazi presence, it's also thanks to the subtle, insidious nods to it in media for mass audiences to passively consume.

As a Jewish woman, I have a vested interest in not being scapegoated and dehumanised, because I'm sure you can recall the last time that came to a head. The very same antisemitic imagery that H/ogwarts L/egacy presents, of greedy, scheming, hooked nosed creatures who seek to bring death to innocent pureblood children, was immensely popular in Germany in the lead-up to the holocaust. And here it is, cropping up again! I can't speak for all Jews, but I for one am terrified for what the future might bring.

I'm so sorry that me being vocal about this obvious antisemitic analogy is of mild irritation to you. It must be such an inconvenience every time you have to listen to whiny, annoying Jews like me, begging you to show solidarity with our plight. You guys are real the victims here, you're so right!

Yes. I’m constructing a recording area currently. As for Parsons…I have and never shall associate with Thelemites. I barely made allowances for spiritualists. Pack of hoaxsters. All for ego and gain. No actual substance to it. Paranormal things exist. Reality is bigger than human perception…which is why it’s hilarious when you think natural phenomenon are dead souls outside their biological substrate, floating around making mischief. That’s not how it works. Yet not a single person wants to hear what is actually happening. I tell them. They argue.

They want the dead people to still exist. Or demons to value them enough to stalk them. They want specialness, not the truth.

The electrochemical signals that make you do not survive in their form, when removed from the biological substrate. Better said, electricity outside of its wires, is just random lightning. No form. Certainly not a form that replicates consciousness.

No such thing as ghosts.

Or divinity. Or any kind of order we can currently discern. Or spirits. Or demons. Or any of that.

But again, watch me take flack for saying so. Assail me. You’ll find me impervious to rhetorical shrapnel. Why? Because I can see what’s actually happening and as has been shown by history…humans will think airplanes are gods, or sicknesses are demons, or anytime things don’t go their way…it’s a conspiracy of universal proportions.

And what annoys me most about that whole movement, is how it all tracks back to an antisemitic prick who did nothing for the world but resurrect the mystique that once seemingly surrounded the mind of annoying white men who just want sex.

It’s all an excuse for orgies. That’s why it always ends in orgies.

A word of advice: if your leader gets anything out of being a leader other than the honor and duty of leading and an ability to live…they’re not a leader. They’re a con artist. This includes sex, worship, power or control, decision making authority, money, land, service, listening to their crap music, reading their shitty science fiction garbage, etc.

Parsons was a very smart fool. He knew how science worked and he ignored it for his own ego. I knew a man who worked with him during the war. He also wasn’t impressed with the man’s personality. I wager I’d take the same perspective since I knew that man’s mind rather well. I reckon I’d have found him insufferable.

He was a really good guy. And I’m not just saying that because he died.

I knew who Jeffrey was before I knew him. He was the guy on stage with Brian Wilson, the one hitting the high notes, the one who turned his big red guitar around during the show so we could see where it was painted “Smile.”

But I don’t remember exactly how we met. Maybe over e-mail. I could comb the archives but I don’t want to, I’m too creeped out that he died.

He was sick. Diagnosed and originally treated in the Bay Area he went to MD Anderson in Houston and they kept him alive, year after year. He’d check in on a regular basis, apropos of nothing. Tell me he was getting treatment, asking how I was and really wanting to know.

Before that we’d connect at shows. I remember when he took me to meet Brian on the tour bus. Prepping me regarding what to expect.

And the last time I saw him was with Mike Love, a few years back at the Vilar in Beaver Creek. He introduced me to Mike Love and Bruce Johnston and we all had a very interesting hang in the dressing room.

And Jeffrey was not a typical musician, he was clean, and always was, no dope and no drink. And a believer, as in religion. But you wouldn’t know all this if he didn’t tell you. And he’d had bariatric surgery, he used to weigh over 300 pounds, he’d reference this now and again. That was the funny thing about Jeffrey, he held nothing back, either about himself or those around him. He would testify not in a gossipy way, but an honest way, as if you were buddies since second grade.

And then he had to go off the road, because of his treatment, but then he went back out, even though he could no longer sing.

Let’s see…

Jeffrey checked in on February 11th, and that was the subject of his e-mail, “Checking in”.

And then again on March 3rd. 

And on March 20th he said:

“I am praying for your health. Interestingly, my pre infusion drugs are Tylenol, Benadryl and Pepcid. Benadryl must be the key to no nausea.

I hope your pemphigus is under control and that you are comfortable.

Where do you find friends like that? Believe me, they’re rare. And when one is that genuine, thinking of you, regularly checking in, you have an ethereal bond that goes beyond regular friendship.

When I heard of Jeffrey’s passing I thought I’d heard from him more recently, in October or so, I was surprised to find his last missive was in July. Which makes me think he had a rough time of it. And one thing they don’t tell you about cancer is it’s painful. But Jeffrey had such belief in MD Anderson that he convinced me, after years of treatment on a regular basis, that he’d be here for years to come.

But he’s not.

And many people have no idea who Jeffrey Foskett is. But those he touched, they’ll never forget him, because he was genuine, because he was a good guy. Fake was not in his bones.

What angers me most is he can’t read this, he can’t know how much he meant to me, how he touched me. 

I don’t know what to do with this empty feeling. My contemporaries are dying on a regular basis. It used to be a rare event, usually through misadventure, but now… You can’t metabolize these passings. Some before their time, like Jeffrey, at 67, others like Christine McVie, who didn’t make it to 80, never mind Jeff Beck. And then Ryan O’Neal. We bonded over having CML. He was a funny guy, he lived in the present, if he brought up the past it was like you’d been there together. He was honest about his son, he had to show me his Tesla Model X, and now he’s gone at 82. That might seem old to some, but if you’re a boomer, if you’re past Medicare age, that’s scary. You count on those years, you think you’ll be active until sometime shy of 90, and then you won’t be so great, but you’ll continue to enjoy TV and a good meal and music, if you can still hear. We keep pushing finality into the distance, But one by one team members are falling by the wayside. They might be gone, but their legend lives on, even if they were not famous.

So if you’ve been to a Brian Wilson show, if you’ve seen the Beach Boys in the past decade, you experienced Jeffrey Foskett. He was the glue that held it all together. The utility man who provided what the legends no longer could. And he didn’t want notice, he was glad to be the midwife for some of the greatest music of all time.

Yes, first and foremost Jeffrey Foskett was a Beach Boys fan. The fact that he got to play with his idols?

You can’t ask for much more than that.

He was cut down before his time, but he exceeded his dream.

It's fascinating timing that you sent me this and I saw it literally seconds after I made a post stating I openly support the Palestinian Right to Return.

I do honestly think that the way the modern state of Israel was created was wrong. I understand the complex sociopolitical influences behind it - and I also understand some of the more emotional logic behind it including, "the Holocaust just happened and no one wanted to save us by taking us in, so could we please have a place where we'll be safe?". So I get why some people are still really pro-Israel existing in some way, because it is promoted as the only place in the world Jewish people are safe.

But going in, evicting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and saying "this is Israel again and you're not allowed to come back", that wasn't the way to do things, and I can't honestly understand why anyone today, looking back on that, would agree it was the right choice.

At the end of the 1800's and early 1900's, Palestine was controlled by the Ottoman Empire. Jewish immigrants to Palestine prior to WWI were not particularly welcomed by the Ottoman Empire, even though their numbers were well below 100,000 individuals. After WWI, the region was controlled by a mix of the British and the French. Britain, at that time, declared a wish to create a Jewish state in the region for a multitude of reasons. Dislike of Jews in Palestine continued, even though no state of Israel had even been adopted yet. But that declaration by Britain paved the way for the eventual forcing of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes in 1948 and continuing thereafter.

Even though I'm converting, I don't have any desire to visit Israel as it is right now. The actions its government are taking right now is, to me, unconscionable and I could not support it by visiting. The government of Israel has become the oppressor in the region.
