And for the holidays I give you memes! Memes everywhere!
I hope that all of you are having a wonderful time, but if not, I at least hope these silly doodles brought you a little joy!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet today, so to round this of: These doodles are based off of the fanfic Apex Polarity, which is written by the lovely @naffeclipse and Eclipse' design is based off of @themeeplord 's fantastic design!
And as a bonus, you will find an alteration and a bunch of Yeti slogans/puns under the cut:
and if you're wondering why I made so many gd yeti puns, it was for michael's mug. You gotta have some fitting and funny slogan for all mugs. Btw If any of you know some good yeti slogans and/or puns, please call me, I've been struggling.
Michael; local cryptid believer, but not cryptid enjoyer
...so im writing up a little guide for how to learn to spin on a drop spindle, bc my friend wants to learn and physical distance means i can’t teach it in person -_-
my little guide has somehow already gone over 4000 words and has 5 mspaint diagrams, most of them quite detailed
This time: I went to look up references of Varric, and just typed "Varric Tethras" into the search bar. I was going to just tab over immediately to the images section, eyes barely glancing over the obvious top-result fandom wiki, then (more entertainingly, but still expected) Wikipedia link-
but. but the next one.
GOODREADS??
.... There's absolutely no tongue-in-cheek in the entry either.
(of course I immediately clicked on it who do you think I am)
There are 3 quotes from him relating to storytelling, both from 2 and Inquisition, as well as a book attribution:
The Dragon Age Novel Edition of Hard in Hightown.
ATTRIBUTED TO VARRIC TETHRAS.
with Mary Kirby*~
Absolutely unblinkingly written summary/bio.
I love this with my whole heart. Varric you beautiful bastard -- and DA writers/editors (Mary Kirby very much most importantly included) you even more beautiful, dorky, wonderful bastards.
---
*if you're not in the know, Mary Kirby is a cornerstone of the DA writing team, including being the one who was in charge of Varric (and Merrill!). To say she's his "trusted human confidante" is certainly putting it one (delightful) way.
hello gamers this is my son jeff who's constantly being haunted by gale's nudeness bc the fucker thought it would be hilarious to strip mid-cutscene and awkwardly writhe while their hand was on his chest.
fucker got boxed for lae'zel crimes, and then brought back for more crimes in act 3. this is when I discover the game fucking deleted all his clothes except for his boxers and shoes.
so jeff gave him a hat and cape to cope.
(under the cut so the post isn't longer)
(i'll post more doodles later probably)
ALSO HERE'S MY LOSER SON
I remember being excited when Fire Emblem Awakening came out back in 2012 because, although I couldn't afford it and knew I wouldn't be able to for a while, I thought that the price would go down eventually and I had loved Radiant Dawn so much (after picking it up second hand at a game store) that I didn't mind waiting. FLASH FORWARD OVER TEN BLOODY YEARS AND THE PRICE STILL HASN'T DROPPED AND ALL THE OTHER GAMES ARE ALSO ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE (not that I even have a Switch, just my beloved 3DS).
SIGH. At least I still have my Wii and copy of Radiant Dawn for when I need to get my Fire Emblem fix... I CERTAINLY CAN NEVER PLAY THE FIRST PART OF THE STORY (Path of Radiance) LEGITIMATELY THOUGH BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOW SELLING IT FOR £200 ON EBAY X_X Good for them, I guess XD
Maybe it's time to finally try making an emulator work...
Deep in the throes of updated covid booster-induced fever, so it won't be happening tonight, but I finished Nocturne and I have Thoughts™ about it, which I will probably share eventually, once I have the energy. I also have Many Thoughts about some things I've seen slinking around the tags, which I will not be sharing, as I definitely do not possess the requisite energy for that XD
What up I'm married to a tall person who is basically Milo Thatch but agender, and uhhh, basically, yeah, everyone should be jealous and I LOVE MY CUTE TWINK NERD WIFE!!!!! 😤😤🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤👌👌
//If Nnoitra did art, what subjects would he mostly focus on?
What would be his main goals as an artist and his favorite medium to use?
❝ If I did what now? ❞ For a moment, he imagined himself as an art-student, with that hipster hairdo, a sketchbook and glasses ( yeah, this was how he imagined artists looked like ). It was so far removed from who he was that he found it funny. A small laugh followed.
Nnoitra was not artistic in any way. Actually, when he'd been real young ( as in, his late teens ), he'd actually done a bit of graffiti. Not for the sake of art, but because he thought vandalism was funny. Maybe that was just something that came with being poor. The thought of rich assholes having to spend time and money to clean their buildings had been amusing to him. He'd mostly just used black spray paint, and just written random ( bad ) words. There had been nothing artistic about it. Still, this was as close to anything artsy that Nnoitra had ever come. He couldn't draw for shit. You'd be hard pressed to see the difference between something a five year old had drawn and his own creations. Let's just say he was on the lowest level of stick-figures.
It was very hard to imagine himself being interested in art, which he'd obviously have to be if he was an artist. What subjects would he focus on? The hell if he knew. He didn't even know which subjects he had to choose from. And his main goal? Probably to make money? What other goal could there be? As for what his favorite medium would be? Whatever was the easiest medium to use. Again, he had no idea what that would be.
All in all... He was not very good at answering ANY of these questions.
We've been antagonizing Moon again, and we've pushed our luck too far. Sun has to step in to help Moon keep it under control. But they're really struggling. And Sun is getting fed up with our lack of common sense and self preservation.
I think you should run.

Inspired by chap 7 of Solar Lunacy, written by the amazing @bamsara. It's not a scene from the story, just a vague incident that happens sometime after the chapter. (it's not canon like at all)
Individual images of Moon and "Moon" under the cut.
… I love what I can only refer to as the ‘Hitter community,’ or at least what we see of them in Leverage.
Quinn and Eliot’s first meeting is undeniably hostile, and sure, maybe a couple years later, but when Eliot pulls Quinn for the Dam job, neither appears to hold any ill will towards the other (especially notable given that was the incident that made Eliot have a grudge against Sterling). Presumably he goes to Quinn bc they met on opposite sides and he’s a distant enough contact that Dubeniech wouldn’t know of him, but I do think it’s a nice look into the way their ‘world’ works.
Especially when you follow it up w/ Mikel and Eliot’s behaviour towards each other. Despite being on opposite sides on their first meeting, too, they seem to be semi enjoying planning out the fight, and both harbour a strong respect for each other. Once things are over, hell, even before things are officially over, they get side tracked from fighting, and are playfully comparing scars and teasing each other in the bar afterwards.
Then there’s the ep w/ the organ, where Eliot runs into those two other retrieval guys and is quite casual w/ them, even that guy who owed him, even though they immediately come to blows.
It just feels like it gives a realistic, very nice insight into the way their 'community’ works. They’ll duke it out to hell and back bc it’s part of the job, but it’s no hard feelings at the end of the day bc someone has to do it. Like I’m absolutely sure there’s bad eggs, the last two examples here seem on the smarmy side, and Eliot does make a reference to Mikel killing someone, and Quinn’s also pretty fine doing that, but there’s a sort of. Honour code about the interactions that I really like.
And to give credit where it’s due, I know Parker gets ruffled as a matter of pride, but the conversation in the air vent and the lock picking contest in the bar indicate that the thieving community operates on a similar vibe. The might be more likely to get competitive, but there’s nothing personal beyond that.
