i tried to avoid supernatural spoilers as much as i could in the years before i finally finished it so during that time i always thought "oh yeah the super hell thing is over exaggerated it's not really that bad" and then i got to 15x18 and then felt the most emotional pain i've ever felt for fictional characters

SILENT IS THE NIGHT.
Silent is the night,
when everyone's asleep,
No one hears my pain,
no one hears me weep.
Everyone's in dreamland,
and no one will ever see,
How lonely is my night,
how I ache to dream with thee.

I finished Rusty Quill Gaming and I can't handle it. I'm not ready for it to be over. That was such a beautiful ending.
I'm not emotionally well enough to listen to the epilogues yet so I'll do that later.
For now, an awkward outro.
Byyyyye!

Kanamafu Roommates AU [4/?]
“Love… You.”
The whisper caught Kanade off guard. She stiffened, unsure of what she had heard.
“Wh… What…?”
Her voice seemed to fully rouse Mafuyu, who groaned and slowly raised an arm off Kanade to rub her eyes. She began to sit up, accidentally half rolling Kanade off of her. Kanade caught herself an inch from face planting into the mattress, pushing herself back up and ending up face to face with Mafuyu. They stayed there for a moment, noses almost touching, neither willing to breathe. Then, Kanade pulled back, shuffling away on the bed and hiding her burning cheeks in the blanket.
“S-Sorry… I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
She mumbled, voice muffled by the thick comforter. She was sure her cheeks were a flaming red, so she buried her face even further into the soft fabric. But, even the fabric smelled of a faint citrus.
I can’t even try to escape her…
A hand touched Kanade’s cheek, cold and slightly calloused, but tender as it pulled the blanket down.
“It’s no problem.”
Mafuyu’s voice spoke right above her ear, a lot closer to Kanade than she had expected. She jolted up at the sound, accidentally smacking her forehead against Mafuyu’s nose. Mafuyu let out a pained exhale, shaking herself off from the impact. Kanade immediately leaned forward, cheeks still flushed as she began apologizing profusely.
“Ah! Sorry, Mafuyu- You surprised me- I was startled- Does it hurt-? Is it bleeding? I’m so sorry-”
She reached out, one hand on either side of Mafuyu’s face as she gently turned her head left and right. Her fussing was interrupted when Mafuyu reached up and grasped her wrists, one tighter than the other because of her injury. She shook her head, pulling Kanade’s hands down.
“It’s alright, Kanade. I’m alright.”
Mafuyu let go of Kanade’s hands, the corners of her lips lifting like the barest hints of a smile. It was tiny, but it was genuine, and the fact that it was there at all made something flutter in Kanade’s stomach.
Not completely sure of what she was doing, Kanade lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Mafuyu, accidentally flipping both of them down onto the bed again. Mafuyu landed with a soft…
“oomph-!”
As Kanade hid her face in Mafuyu’s shoulder. She puffed out a breath, embarrassed and mentally cursing herself for acting on impulse like that. Mafuyu squirmed, Kanade’s warm breath ticklish on her skin.
“Still. I’m sorry.”
Kanade whispered apologetically. Mafuyu gave her a slightly awkward pat on the back.
“You have nothing to apologize for. It was an accident. A small one, at that.”
Shrugging, Kanade rolled off of Mafuyu, quickly realizing how close they had been. … Again. She glanced around the room, almost afraid to look Mafuyu in the eye as the latter sat up and brushed herself off. Despite that, her curiosity got the better of her, eyes flicking briefly to Mafuyu’s face. The sun was still shining down on her, the warm light bouncing beautifully off of her shining purple hair. Surprisingly, she was… Blushing? Her cheeks were slightly pink, eyes cast down towards the bed as if also avoiding eye contact. Kanade shook her head, blinking rapidly. At this point, she was wary to trust any of her senses. Her heart was pounding in her chest, the speedy thumping of each heavy beat so present in her ears that she barely heard Mafuyu’s voice when she spoke.
“Kanade..? Are you alright?”
Mafuyu poked a finger at Kanade, causing her to jolt back in surprise.
“A-Ah, yes! Sorry.”
She felt her face warming once again as she quickly tried to rub the redness out of her cheeks. With no warning, Mafuyu placed her hands on top of Kanade’s, gently stroking the delicate hands under hers with her calloused thumbs. Kanade shivered at her touch, giggling softly at the ticklish sensation. Mafuyu tilted her head, staring at Kanade’s smiling face. A warm flutter flicked at her stomach, causing her to let out a soft laugh of her own. Kanade glanced up, eyes wide in surprise. She gazed at Mafuyu with the same expression one would expect to see on someone discovering a beautiful new species or viewing a sunrise over the peak of a mountain. Surprise? Close… Adoration? Not quite. She looked almost… lovestruck…?
“You smiled… You laughed…”
Kanade whispered. Mafuyu felt a slight shiver of terror run through her. Her hands dropped back to her sides, lips falling back down into their familiar resting position as she slipped a mask of neutrality over her face. She cast her eyes down at the blanket, feeling almost… Ashamed..? She didn’t know why she was doing this. Kanade had seen her true self many times before, so why now…
”N-No, wait! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to- …”
Shaking her head, Kanade reached out, clasping Mafuyu’s cheeks and pulling her head close.
“I wasn’t trying to mock you. I just… I just thought I’d tell you… I think you have a beautiful smile.”
“O-Oh…”
Mafuyu blinked, bringing her gaze back up to stare at Kanade. The latter was staring back at her, an earnest look in her face.
“Thank you… Kanade.”
As she nodded her appreciation, a faint whisper of a smile flickered across her lips again. Kanade noticed, her own face brightening up with a bright grin. Oh, and how the world lit up. Mafuyu swore she’d never seen anything more radiant in her life. Even the sun shining in from the window paled in comparison to the happy expression Kanade had adopted. Mafuyu tilted her face into Kanade’s palm, sighing in contentment and leaning forward. Kanade yelped, moving forward to try and catch her, but Mafuyu simply rolled over on the bed, staring up at Kanade’s face hovering over hers.
“You too.”
Kanade laid down next to Mafuyu, facing sideways so she could see her face.
“Hm?”
“Your smile… It’s…”
For all her expertise in Japanese and English, Mafuyu couldn’t find the words to describe what she had seen in Kanade’s face. Any descriptors that came to mind seemed utterly unqualified to even try to explain the feeling Kanade’s expression invoked.
“It’s everything.”
So, Mafuyu said the only thing she could. The only way she could think to express her emotions. Stunned, Kanade tried to process what she had heard. Her face flushed as she tried to look away and hide her face for the hundredth time. She tried to bury her face in her t-shirt, pulling the collar over her head in an attempt to conceal the blushing mess that covered her cheeks.
“You’re… everything.”
A whisper escaped Kanade’s lips. A response, so faint it was barely there. Mafuyu turned her head towards Kanade, her lips parting almost imperceptibly. Neither of them spoke, the silence of the room making sure they both knew it. Mafuyu had heard.
“I…”
Neither made a move to do anything. They both stayed completely still, as if not acknowledging it would make it go away. Yet, in the depths of their hearts, neither wanted to ignore it. Just as Mafuyu opened her mouth to speak, the doorbell rang, snapping the two out of their reverie. The world that had been composed of just the two of them seemed to crack, streams of the outside creeping into what had been their moment alone.
”… Shoot.”
Kanade stood, quickly walking out of the room. Mafuyu noticed that, amidst the floaty strands of her silver hair, Kanade’s ears were a burning red. She stood as well, shaking herself off and following Kanade down the hall. A girl with brown hair put up in a side ponytail stood in the doorway, discussing something with Kanade. Mafuyu recognized her. Honami Mochizuki, Kanade’s hired housekeeper. Unsure of what to do, Mafuyu lingered in the doorway, watching the two talk as Kanade welcomed Honami in. Noticing Mafuyu’s gaze, Honami looked up and waved, smiling.
“Ah, you’re having Mafuyu over again?”
Kanade nodded, seeming slightly shyer than usual.
“Y-Yeah…”
It seemed like she would elaborate, but she fell silent. Honami laughed lightly, easing the tension a little as she slipped off her shoes and stepped inside.
“Well, good thing I bought enough food for both of you!”
Honami said, gesturing to the bags of groceries she had brought as she picked them up again.
“Thank you, Honami. I’ll adjust your pay accordingly. Sorry for not notifying you before.”
Kanade said, nodding sheepishly. Honami waved it off, heading for the kitchen.
“Ah, it’s alright! I’ve grown to expect it, to be honest. For the last two weeks, there hasn’t been a day I’ve visited that Mafuyu hasn’t been here.”
Embarrassed, Kanade looked away, scratching her head.
“Ah… I suppose you’re right.”
Mafuyu shrugged, following Kanade and Honami into the kitchen. Kanade moved into the living room, sitting down on the couch. Hesitating, Mafuyu debated whether or not to join her before giving in and sitting on the opposite side of the couch. Honami glanced over at them, opening packages of vegetables, meat, and spices.
“Did something happen? You two seem- uh- tense.”
She spoke, eyeing the substantial distance between them. Kanade and Mafuyu glanced at each other before quickly breaking eye contact.
“N-No.. why would you think that?”
Kanade asked, realizing a second later that her excuse wouldn’t be fooling anyone. Honami paused, raising one eyebrow at her. She placed the pot on the stove, turning on the heat as she drizzled a drop of oil in and gesturing at the space between Kanade and Mafuyu.
“… You two normally sit so close to each other I have to pry you apart whenever meals are ready. On the topic of meals, though, how does pasta sound?”
Honami said, shaking her head and opening a pack of pasta. Kanade nodded awkwardly.
“Y-Yeah… that works with me. … Mafuyu?”
Mafuyu jolted herself out of her thoughts, also nodding. She couldn’t taste her food, anyway. It didn’t really matter what she ate.
“Mm. Sounds fine with me.”
“Got it.”
Honami poured the pasta into the water, turning up the heat and gently stirring it around. For a few minutes, the only sounds in the room were of chopping and splashing as Honami continued to make the pasta. Mafuyu yawned softly, leaning sideways and resting her body on the couch pillows. Despite sleeping in and resting for most of the day, she was still quite tired. She slowly dozed off, her breathing slowing as her eyelids drifted shut. Eventually, she started leaning forward, almost falling on her face on the couch. Kanade, watching her slowly drift off, reached out and held Mafuyu up by her shoulders. She hesitated before moving forward, managing to catch Mafuyu and gently dropping her head to rest it on her lap. She sighed, leaning into the cushions as well.
Mafuyu’s sleepy words from earlier lingered in the back of Kanade’s head. She knew she’d have to confront her about them soon, but… for now, maybe it was alright to let this peace last a little longer. She gently swept a lock of purple hair behind Mafuyu’s ear, chuckling softly as Mafuyu seemed to sigh and lean into her touch.
… What am I doing…? To myself- to her- to both of us…?

Distances So Wide.
I died the day you went away,
I broke up all inside,
I felt my world just slip away,
Like the ebbing of the tide.
I prayed that you'd come back someday,
But the distance was too wide,
My life, my love, had gone away,
And I hung my head and cried.
I begged and pleaded with you to stay,
To be my blushing bride,
But you just smiled and turned away,
And my pleading you denied.
And now there's nothing left to say,
I'm all broken up inside,
My life, my love, has flown away,
And the distance is so wide.

This is my friend. Most of my hiking adventures are with him, and his mom. . . . and he's been sleeping on my living room floor since Tuesday night. I will not let him be alone. . . .
I am putting a break in this post, and tagging it, because I know there are those here who choose to block as many suicide posts as they can.
On Tuesday evening my friend's brother, (and Linda's son (she's the other friend I hike with)) made the decision to end his life. I can not even put into words how awful the last few days have been for them. My heart is so broken for them. I hate not being able to do anything that seems tangible. I know it's good to be here for them, but. . . I don't know. I ache to do more. I love them so much and wish I could take their suffering away.
Please. For the love of God, if you are struggling with your mental health AT ALL, ask for help. Reach out to someone you know. Call a hotline. Find a therapist you can speak with.
You are not bothering people.
You are not a burden to those that love you.
They NEED you here.
ASK for help.
I am begging you.
