Wafting Petals

Pairing: MC (Reader) / Kiro (MLDD) Genre: Fluff Word Count: 1,231 words Sypnosis: Kiro is helplessly in love. MC is not having it.

Today is supposedly to be the day where Kiro will be hanging out with his favourite person, the girl whom he called Miss Chips. Knowing how she always running late to every appointments she made with the male, Kiro could only click his tongue, shaking his head defeatedly.

30 minutes of waiting. Still, she hasn’t arrived.

What could’ve took her so long? Did she get into trouble on her way here? These negative thoughts start to fill his head as scenarios after scenarios are made in his head. As if on cue, his thumb is already hovering on the girl’s contact yet before he could made a quick phone call, the female has showed herself, waving her hand that is holding on a fluffy cotton candy before hurriedly made her way towards Kiro.

“I waited for 30 minutes. 30 minutes! And you had the audacity to stop to buy yourself a flower shaped cotton candy?” Kiro stated, looking at the girl offendedly. “Am I not important to you Miss Chips? I’m very disappointed in yo- mphh!” Before the blonde male could finish his sentence, the girl has playfully pinch some cotton candy and stuff it into his mouth, attempting to shut him of for the time being.

“Look, I’m sorry!” She mussed, peeking at Kiro’s face cautiously before plopping the teared cotton candy in her mouth, letting it melt and burst sweetly on her tongue. This divine taste however are clearly shown from her expression, where her smile formed beautiful crescents accompanied by her soft hum in delight.

And Kiro was distracted by the blissful girl in front of him, as it reminds him back to when he first has fallen in love with her.

“Since you have indulge one of my cotton candy petals, we can call it a truce,” She said in a flat tone, eyebrows furrowed, her bright doe eyes squinted a little as if wanting the blonde male to be intimidated yet she failed tremendously as Kiro could only stifle out laughter. “Alright fine, you win.”

“After all 30 minutes is nothing right? It’s not that much of a hassle for me to stand up, staring at my phone and be worried for you because you’re late. Not to mention it seems you’re more content with your cotton candy rather than spending your time with this super busy top star of Loveland City.”

With this, Kiro has earned massive weak punches from the girl who throws him a displeased look. “Keep this up and I’ll leave you and your narcissistic self alone, Mr. Superstar.” The girl turned her back on Kiro, sulking.

This however earned another laughter from the idol.

“Are you sulking?” Shaking his head helplessly, Kiro placed both of his hands on her shoulder, swiftly turning her to look at him before then flashing his brightest yet kid-like smile. “I was just gonna say that you’ll be paying since you’re late but you’re sulking and it was partially my fault.” Kiro casually stares at the pouty girl, ruffling her hair to signal her to loosen up – and to forgive him.

“Shall we go, my little Miss Chips?” Kiro asks, extending his arms for the girl to hold in which she did. Her pout is long gone, melted completely along with the cotton candy on the tip of her tongue. “I know a place that has a good review. 5 stars review sounds tempting, right?”

“Who are you and what did you do with Kiro?” The girl eyes widened, perplexed.

Knowing how the male is usually acting without impulse, they always made their stops on his favourite place to dine in, Souvenir. She had to admit every food served by Mr. Mills – and made by the lowkey chef, The Capitalist Tyrant, Mr. Victor Li – it has been a delight. She was expecting Kiro to bring her to the familiar place and got herself wrapped up in chores Victor gives as her payment for the food he made, and maybe also arguing with the said owner.

“What? You gotta love me more for switching it up,” He said tactfully, offering her his sweet undeniable smile while leading her the way to the restaurant by foot.

It was a blissful walk, for a few minutes before he finally notices a constant heavy breathing coming from the petite girl. “Are you alright Miss Chips?” Kiro furrowed his eyebrows, slowing down his footsteps to a stop, looking down at the startled producer in front of her.

“Yes! I’m fine!” Not the answer he’s looking for.

“Too bad. I was going to give you a piggyback ride.” This earned a small complain from the girl in which he replied amusedly with a chuckle. “What? You said you could walk!” Kiro said, feigning innocence before continue walking, slower this time to allow the girl to match up with her own pace.

Arriving shortly to their destination, they are greeted warmly by the waitress. “Table for two please,” Not aware of his identity in disguise, Kiro flashes the waitress a wide smile, causing the worker to froze im realisation before leading them to their table. This however amused the girl in which she expressed it with a tiny giggle when they finally get to be alone.

“Nice one Mr. Superstar, it seems your disguise has failed you today as well.” She burst out laughing, shaking her head remembering the shocked face of the waitress when it struck her that Kiro is present before her eyes.

Seeing how the girl was having the time of her life, Kiro’s expression soften. Ah yes, he’s deeply and hopelessly is in love with her once again.

“If you’re complaining about my skill of fashion trying to disguising myself, you can blame it all on these visuals. What more can I say, I’m that irresistible if I do say so myself,” He mussed playfully, feigning arrogance. The girl who has been busy skimming through the menu knitted her brows at the statement before letting out a small mocking scoff.

“Sometimes I wonder how you can still be single but with your head is getting in the way—” She paused, snickered at the offended face the man was making before continuing, “Now I know why.”

“You take that back!” He warned.

“You will take that back once you become my girlfriend. Just you wait!” The absurdity coming out from Kiro made the girl turn beat red in a span of minutes. “A-As if I want to be with someone whose ego is taller than The Loveland Tower,” She immediately said, still flustered. Despite her claims of not wanting to be romantically involved with Kiro, her silly little head has contributed to the imagery of them actually dating.

Seeing how flustered and fidgety the girl sitting in front of him is, it pleased Kiro.

Knowing that he always have the upper hand whenever they bicker and to know how the poor flustered girl reacted this way, it’s safe to say that she must have at least a tiny crush on him – if not a massive crush on him. With this fact, the man smiled contently, resuming the topic the girl has desperately racked on her head.

jules is pretty easy to get along with, the only thing she really cares about is getting good grades and doing The Most™ so she isn’t too bothered about cliques or anything like that. just don’t try to tell her she’s wrong about something or she’ll cast a spell on you and your next 7 generations of offspring

i’m jk but for real. don’t do it. she’s one of those annoying people that love to argue so don’t get her started

her parents put a lot of pressure on her to succeed. most of her anxiety about not doing well enough stems from them because she’s an only child and they kind of put all their lecturing energy into one kid

on the flip side they also worked a lot when she was young so she was around nannies and babysitters a lot, and never really got to socialize much. she learned how to entertain herself. it made her an introspective imaginative person but it also made her kind of lonely (and a lil weird ok)

so after childhood the competitiveness and her perfectionism developed as a way to get her parents attention

in fact it’s pretty much an obsession at this point. rip to her social life

despite her being busy and lowkey obnoxious she is a genuinely nice person who tries to be diplomatic and get along w people. but if ur in the way of something she wants she won’t hesitate to make u catch these hands

she also has a thing for true crime. probably keeps all the articles of the northlake boogeyman tabbed on her phone browser like a creep

she comes from money but she doesn’t really talk about it much so it might not be something a lot of people know

i can’t think of anything else atm except i’m tentatively putting her on academic decathlon, debate team, softball and she’s a tutor so if any of that tickles ur fancy lmk

someone (probably a popular kid) that she got into an argument with and made them feel stupid and now they either want revenge or they’re in the process of getting it or it already happened and instead of jules backing down the situation got worse and now they have it out for each other

god i love bnha but youve all already seen the posts which are like “bnha had so much potential it couldbe been a story of how you dont need to fit in and have quirks like everybody else, you can still be a hero, but the mc just got a superpowered quirk and now its just your regular old shounen” so i wont go on about that

but anyway like. the idea of quirkless hero deku. if he had become a hero as is..... -it couldnt have happened with him still living where he did, growing up where he did with the surroundings he had. we already know how that played out in canon. if he’s to become a hero while being quirkless, he needs some kind of change in environment, yeah?

and like. i cannot pass up the chance to have him be friends with hatsume mei. imagine izuku growing up friends with her, he’d be enabled to live to full chaotic neutral potential with his eerily precise quirk analysis and her ridiculous machines and devices

im thinking that when izuku was about to go into middle school, maybe inko got some kind of job (promotion if shes already working) that had her be transferred to another area, which just so happens to be near where hatsume lives. izuku is so, so hopeful that these new folks will be kind, but then they learn he’s quirkless and three of them corner him outside after school and his hopes shatter like fragile glass as one of them uses their quirk to paralyze him and they all laugh-

and then this, this pink haired girl with weird glasses ducks under one of their arms and reaches into her pocket and pulls out, holy fuck is that a stun gun? and she zaps the bullies and grins very wide and they run yelling and izuku’s like “you saved my goddamn life” and pink-hair says “i saw your notebook! seems like youre pretty insightful, i wanna work with you” and thats how mei and izuku meet and become ride-or-die friends

they’re over at each others houses pretty much all three years of middle school. hatsume couldn’t care less that he’s quirkless- as long as he can hand her her tools when she needs them and tell her when she’s doing something wrong, she’s fine with him. and it’s so very refreshing for izuku to have this reinforcing presence who actually looks past his quirklessness. he picks up tinkering and whatnot, working on the software portion while hatsume irons out the physical kinks in her support devices, and she gives izuku all sorts of cameras he uses to record fights and analyze quirks afterwards. they talk quirks and robots together and mei comes up with so many new devices, half of them brought to life by izuku’s hyperactive imagination

when it comes time for entering high school, they both already know they want to go to yuuei. and izuku’s no idiot, he knows that hes disadvantaged by being quirkless. he’s been building up strength by helping mei in her workshop and learning to fight in martial arts courses, with the wholehearted support of inko and the hatsume family. even so he’s likely not got the simple advantage of Having A Quirk that everyone else does.

“if you don’t have a quirk,” mei wonders idly as she tightens another screw. “i mean, if you don’t have the biological power, then why not use an artificial one?” she puts down her screwdriver and pats the grip-strengthening glove she’s finished. “just use some of my babies.”

“oh,” says izuku, and he applies for yuuei and submits half a dozen equipment applications for the exam alongside.

lord but what about the exam... if he bumps into uraraka again he wouldn’t be so nervous, he might drop a gadget he’s carrying and ask her brightly about her quirk and they talk quirks and gadgets and heroes excitedly all the way into the building, izuku carefully steering the conversation away from his own quirk. he doesn’t get scolded by iida because he’s trained himself to scribble down his thoughts rather than mumble them (because he can hear mei’s eccentric additions better than way). besides, he’s too busy checking on his proto-jetpack and his electric pulse bombs(?) and his extendable staff and making sure they’re undamaged and usable

he’s a quick runner from all his training, so when he walks into the exam field he’s quick to seek out robots and throw his pulse bombs at them (press once for an electric stunner that’ll throw off a human for a few seconds, press twice for a larger pulse that’ll disable any machinery). he racks up points quickly, and then the zero-pointer comes out. izuku goes “ah, fuck!” when he sees uraraka lying prone and bolts to grab her, yelling for the students running away to help him get her to safety. this tall purple-haired student comes running back, visibly nervous at how close the bot is getting.

“uraraka-san, i know you’re exhausted, but use your quirk on me,” izuku says urgently. uraraka clumsily slaps him and he grins, instructing the purple haired kid (”ah, my name’s shinsou,”) to piggyback her as far away as he can get. then he jumps up using his jetpack to fly up to the ‘head’ of the zero-pointer, and tries a pulse bomb on its surface. all it does is make a panel pop off, but that’s enough for izuku- he grabs a handful of the exposed wires and rips them the hell out. the zero-pointer slows to a stop, and then- the wires start sparking oddly, and izuku remembers that all the damaged robots flared with electricity soon after being broken. he shoves himself off the bot just in time, because the wires in front of him explode, and izuku’s blown back by the force of the explosion. it’s okay, he thinks, he can just jetpack himself to safety- and then he starts falling

down on the ground, shinsou looks worriedly at uraraka on the verge of passing out. they’ve had to keep stopping because she’s feeling so sick. he knows she won’t be able to release her quirk if she’s unconscious, so it’ll probably continue to take a toll on her. when he looks around, he sees iida nearby, teeth gritted as he desperately wars with himself about running away. “uraraka-san?” shinsou asks. “yes,” uraraka says, and then her eyes go glassy. “release your quirk,” shinsou orders, turning to the sky and spotting izuku almost immediately. shinsou turns back and yells to iida, making his voice sound desperate: “please! my friend here’s about to pass out! can you get us to safety?” iida looks over, startled: “oh, of cou-!” “i need you to catch that guy,” shinsou tells him, pointing at the falling izuku. “jump and knock him out of his trajectory, it should stop him from landing too hard.”

and that’s what happens: izuku is falling, uraraka on the ground panics, but then brainwashed iida zooms past them and jumps and grabs izuku. they both hit the ground hard, izuku grunting as his hatsume-reinforced shoes bite into his heels. iida gets knocked out of the brainwashing as soon as he slams into izuku, and is on the verge of turning and yelling at shinsou for manipulating him like that, but shinsou runs over and starts worrying quietly over izuku and uraraka and iida gets distracted. they all ask after izuku’s quirk, and he hesitates- “ah, thats...” when recovery girl shows up, ready to heal izuku’s twisted ankle.

later, izuku walks into class 1-a, and four different students bolt to their feet. “you-!“ yell uraraka, shinsou, iida, and bakugou katsuki. izuku freezes as uraraka continues, “you’re that guy with the electricity quirk! the one who took out the zero-pointer- you saved me, you-”

“deku,” bakugou whispers, panic leaking into his voice. “you’re- deku? you’re... you’re quirkless, what are you doing here?”

cue panic. after the initial shock and mild awkwardness about his quirklessness, uraraka, iida, and shinsou all band tightly together with izuku, quickly becoming his closest friends after mei. eventually todoroki joins their little group, and everyone learns not to underestimate the quirkless kid. all might does offer one for all to izuku at some point, but he hesitates and turns him down. “it’ll mean too much to the quirkless kids, you see,” he explains. “to have a quirkless hero. i can’t take that away from them. and besides, being quirkless- it’s part of me. i don’t want to throw that away.” and all might nods, understanding, and offers his limited guidance instead. even if he can’t give this kid power, he can lend him a hand while he fights through the world.

im hungry and havent eaten yet so i havent given thought to the rest of this story yet, but at some point in the future quirkless hero deku kneels in front of an indescribably happy and crying quirkless kid, and he hugs them and tells them they can be anything they goddamn want and damn it, deku’s gonna help them get there.

like his head would be bowed

arms awkwardly by his side

not knowing what to do with them so he holds onto the ends of his fingertips instead

but when you revealed you like him to and agreed to be in a relationship with him

his head would snap upwards towards you

at first looking really confused

but when your words fully registered into his head

a huge grin would just morph onto his face

that adorable grin that i can never get sick of

and he'll pull you by the wrist and enveloped you into a hug, burying his head into your neck/ shoulder, grin never leaving his face

and both of you would walk out of the venue hand in hand

it was a new but warm and fuzzy feeling

but you liked it

and you would go to every of his basketball matches and singing competitions

okay now for the more extravagant dates

honestly, i would think that he would have planned something special for your school prom

promposal was probably one of the cutest things

with jaehyun being one of the smartest in the batch he would have come out with a really smart promposal

it happened in math class

and the teacher was going through trigonometry, asking if anybody wanted to volunteer to demonstrate the steps to an exercise question

jaehyun raised his hand, which was kind of shocking because despite being one of the smartest of students, jaehyun might be shy in raising his hands in class

but this time he raised his hand up confidently, causing you to just look at him with amusement

however, you didn’t think too much about it, looking down at your notebook again to work on the same question

when you finally let out an exasperated sigh, giving up on the complicated question

cheers began to erupt and your classmates started clapping loudly

numerous of your classmates started turning their heads to look at you with wide grins on their faces and you’re just like ?????

until you saw the board

jaehyun was standing beside the board

fiddling with his fingers nervously again, a sheepish yet hopeful grin on his face

shy, twinkling eyes looking up at you

beside him, in perfect black marker ink

“(Y/N), girl/boy, you got me SIN(ghing) COS of your beauty. You’re so beautiful inside and out, I’m so glad and blessed we both atTANded this school, because I get to meet you at one point, and I have no regrets. i swear you probably would’ve cringed by the time you read that finish

but there would be some tears in your eyes

and your cheeks would hurt from your grin

because that was one of the sweetest and cringiest thing someone had ever done for you, even from Jaehyun

you wouldn’t even realise that the whole class was staring at you anticipating your response

and when you nodded your head, the whole call burst into cheers

even your teacher was clapping gleefully

and jaehyun would walk back to both of your seats, enveloping you in a hug

i mean it was only a promposal but you loved it

since you felt every inch of Jaehyun’s sincerity

but that wasn’t the surprise yet

the surprise comes on the day of prom

both of you would be dressed splendidly ( i mean jAEHYUN IN A TUX IS LIKE WOAHHHHHH)

and both of you would be slow dancing to a song,

when suddenly jaehyun turned back to look at the wall clock, abruptly excusing himself and saying that he would be right back

but he left you stranded, so you just awkwardly stayed in your place, not knowing what to do

suddenly the slow dance song transited into this soft pop ballad instrumental and you could hear the voiceover of a familiar voice

“(Y/N), she was the one that made me feel myself, even at the times i felt like i wasn’t myself. she was the one that understood me the best and stood by me during my difficulties, even when i had trouble trying to handle them myself. she’s more than i could ask for, and this is for her.”

and suddenly jaehyun neatly clad in his tux would step onto the middle of the stage

grabbing the microphone

and starts to sing a self composed song

some of the lyrics were words that Jaehyun and you said to each other

some of them were about the times both of you spent together

some of them were just jaehyun’s pure confession of his feelings for you

but all of them were part of his declaration of love to you

you were entranced in the song

but also in jaehyun’s eyes

he would have his eyes fixated on you throughout the song

as if he was pouring his heartfelt confession to you

but in front of the whole school

as if ascertaining his love for you

as if telling the whole world of his dedication and commitment to you, and to ward off anybody else who wanted to break the both of you apart

but both of you knew that your bond was formidable

it was strong

and everyday when you look at jaehyun with the same expression of adoration and love, you just knew in your heart that both of your feelings were unwavering, and would be for a long time

but most of the time he would be gentlemanly and really sweet

MITUNA: -He's been alternating, maintaining the "ceiling" and dumping the snow elsewhere. As of now, he rests.-

LATULA: -RUBBING HIS HEAD-

[[ With thorough searching, time, and scruitiny, Redglare may be able to hear a hollow sound over the snowstorm overhead. It sounds akin to wind being pulled through a tunnel. ]]

REDGLARE: -She's been dragging a little rock along, scraping the floor so she'll have a line back. She attempts to put her arm through the windy wind tunnel. JUST SORTA FEEL AROUND OUT THERE-

KARKAT: =watches this and stays huddled with Dave.=

DAVE: what is she doing

[[ It's not so much a tunnel yet as it's a hole the size of a dime. By placing her hand up to it, Redglare can feel a coolness against her hand. ]]

REDGLARE: -hm. Some more testing. She takes the sharp rock and begins to attempt to dig around the hole, trying to feel if the surrounding area is soft enough to make it a little bigger.-

ARANEA: -watches redglare also. by this point she's huddling with daelos again.-

DAVE: if were gonna be diggin our way to minnesota

REDGLARE: -she can't really hear them but she's vaguely aware of the fact that she's being watched. Not that it matters too much to her.-

[[ Success! It breaks away bit by glorious bit until the soil falls away, falling down from the larger rocks littering the base to the floor. Come to think of it, this area actually appears to look like it had been a cave-in at one point. The hole has now grown big enough for Redglare to stick her head through. ]]

KARKAT: =That seems. Like a bad idea. Sticking heads in random holes=

DAVE: thats gotta be a glory hole for a giant dick

DAVE: -IT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST EPISODE HE DIES RIGHT AWAY-

[[ With effort, her fingers brush something on the other side. It feels like gravel and loose soil, much like what has fallen to the ground on her side. The ground feels like it might be gently sloping downward. ]]

REDGLARE: -She pulls her arm out. It's dusty and covered in dirt and her fingers are a little achy, but she raises her arm and gestures towards the group.-

KARKAT: What is it? I'm hoping you're about to say "a hot spring".

REDGLARE: -Shakes her head. She does a sign for 'wind' and 'down'. Not much ELSE than that, but she can barely see over here.-

DAVE: maybe some clothes

KARKAT: Some place down.... hang on. =Rubs Dave's shoulders and scoots him close to the fire then goes to see what Redglare means and it already feels cooler... but probably because there's no fire on the other end=

KARKAT: Should dig it out you think?

REDGLARE: -NODS-

KARKAT: Alright. =He starts to dig his claws in to try and widen the hole more. Haha good thing it's not all collapsing on them!=

DAVE: careful of the dick

KARKAT: =Sighs.....= Dick just... comforts him. For some reason. =Says to Redglare, or to himself=

REDGLARE: -LISTEN SHE'S JUST SURE THERE'S SOMETHING OUT THERE. Maybe even... THE OUTSIDE?

[[ The winds howls above, reminding them of the shitty storm still in progress. ]]

[[ With Karkat's help, much of the gravel and slightly larger stones have been moved aside. All that is left now are the larger rocks. There are some the size of their fists and some the size of bowling balls. Down at the very bottom by their feet, there one particularly large one that may need at 2-3 people to move. ]]

[[ But progress is progress and for now they are MAKING some. ]]

KARKAT: =Maybe he can use this dirt and gravel to bury his matesprit, oh wait he doesn't have her body and trolls don't do that haha. Claws out more gravel and dirt, just keeps working=

REDGLARE: -WORK THROUGH THE PAIN. She's going for the big rock and gestures at Karkat.-

REDGLARE: -C'MON-

DAVE: -going to carefully...push...himself up. oooowwwwwwwwwww. USE. YOUR ARMS. DAVE.-

KARKAT: =YOU LAY BACK DOWN, but he's coming Redglare lets get this BIG ROCK.=

REDGLARE: -She is doing her best to get har arms around it, shoving her body weight and attempting to roll it out of the way a little at a time.-

[[ It doesn't roll so much as slide. There is an extended grinding sound as it's moved about an inch. ]]

DAVE: -OH GOD HIS LEGS ARE NUMB SHIT SHIT SHIT okay they're fine now. he's actually managing to stand and it makes him incredibly dizzy and now his HEAD is screaming with pain. but at least the frostbite's gone. he wants to see what they're doing. give him a second. he's basically a turtle with this back sitch-

KARKAT: =DAVE HE SWEARS TO GOD and also huffs a little trying to drag this rock up and out of the way. The grinding sound is annoying and defeats the purpose of them having to be quiet but it's GOTTA GO=

REDGLARE: -YEAH. they might need stuff on the other side. Like more rocks, or plants. Or mushrooms?-

ARANEA: -dave you fucking fuck. hisses a little at him.- (Don't hurt yourself...)

DAVE: what am i gonna do die in this cave DAVE: no thanks -he's walking pretty funny to try to avoid further injuring himself, and he's still dizzy so it takes intense focus to head in the right direction-

[[ Little by little the rock is moved away, grinding along as it's pushed. The dirt the rock had been holding up near the sides shifted, raining down small particles over the entrance they've created, but their work seems to hold. There doesn't appear to be another cave-in happening today. ]]

REDGLARE: -oh hey it feels like her leg is on fire. and bleeding again. She inhales a sharp breath as it finally, after so much effort, gives way to a reasonably-sized opening.-

[[ It's large enough to crawl through, even for Daelos, but they will have to crawl. The hollow, airy sound Redglare heard before is much louder now. The rock disappears through the hole, rolling for a second or two before seemingly stopping. There is nothing but darkness beyond. You'll need a light source to proceed. ]]

REDGLARE: -She's going to go in first, getting low to the ground and gradually shimmying down the slope. Just in case.-

[[ Once on the other side, Redglare finds she is able to stand. What light their stog gives illuminates off of the walls of the cave, showing there is much more to the other side than they thought - it is a series of caverns, leading downwards and deeper with no presumable end in sight, far larger than the pitfall into which they were lowered. ]]

KARKAT: =Good, he nods to Dave= We'll be back. =He follows Redglare trying his best to sheild the fire at least a li-- oh= Fuck.

REDGLARE: -Frowns. But then, that's why she's been marking the floors. Now she's going to start marking the walls, too.-

[[ Redglare and Karkat are quite ambitious for undertaking such a task, but it must be done. It is much quieter in here and their soft voices seem to penetrate the silence. There is nothing but gentle drip dripping sounds from stalactites onto the cave floor. For now. ]]

KARKAT: (Some bullshit asshole luck I'm sure....) =He looks around the place following Redglare and wishing he had some kind of weapon on him at least=

REDGLARE: -well there ARE stalagmites.-

REDGLARE: -she eyes them. fuck u thousands of years of gelogical development they gotta survive-

REDGLARE: -she pauses at all the drip-dripping...-

[[ There is the occasional flapping of wings and high-pitched chittering that grows louder with their approach. Seems like bats live in here too. ]]

[[ More soft animalistic noises can be heard, little chunks of snow falling from the hole... And then, suddenly, something much larger, flailing in the air before hitting the ground with a crack. ]]

REDGLARE: -She flinches at the sound of the... thing. That crack sounded pretty sickly.-

REDGLARE: -She takes a step towards the noise.-

KARKAT: =Oh.... fucking...... christ. He puts his hand on-- oh=

KARKAT: =Oh fuck. Not that he knows=

KARKAT: =Wait, FUCK BATS.... fuck off bats=

DAVE: -startles and- (FUCK ) -not good for the back. this old man. he tries to move himself backwards as much as he can while he figures out what this thing is-

REDGLARE: -oh ok nevermind that then. She's seen enough about earth bats-- they're not really all that scary, compared to echobeasts. They don't prey on humans.-

MINDFANG: -She had been trying to sleep when whatever the hell it is crashed into the cave floor.-

MINDFANG: (Hhhn-the fuck--??)

[[ Blood pools around it on the ground from what they can see. It's furry. A wolf. ]]

MINDFANG: -What is it DOING down here though.-

MINDFANG: -She squints and slowly, stiffly, makes it onto her feet.-

KARKAT: =.....But they aren't humans. aaaaaaaaaaaaaa not really=

[[ It fell from the hole. Oops?? ]]

REDGLARE: -AAAAAA!!!-

MINDFANG: -Then its a dumb animal.-

MINDFANG: -Shes moving towards the fallen wolf to investigate. It is dead right?-

[[ No need to scream. These bats are harmless and they're more afraid of these large creatures invading their home than you are of them. ]]

DAVE: (what the fuck what the fuck)

KARKAT: =He wants to eat them..... but will leave them alone. For now=

[[ It's not moving currently. Blood continues to spread around it. ]]

[[ If a bat could speak, it would likely say, "You gotta reach us first. Fool." ]]

KARKAT: =That sounds like a challenge you little shit=

REDGLARE: -MAYBE THEY COULD DISCOVER BAT TRAPS. Just like don't starved. And SPEAKING of don't starved, she's going to get a big chunk of Better Rock from one of these stalagmites.-

MINDFANG: -That is not a direct answer.-

MINDFANG: -Shes keeping a small amount of distance then for now. Is there any obvious injury to it besides the whole falling stories thing?-

[[ It's a little too shadowy to tell completely what its injuries are. But before she can get too close, it starts moving again, twitching at first. ]]

MINDFANG: -JUMPS BACK, her metal fist is raised just in case. She can punch really hard with this robot arm, Wolf, just TRY IT.-

KARKAT: =Good, he'll just man the light for now as they continue down this path=

DAVE: (dont move)

[[ It squirms, twitching still, and there's soft cracks and crunches as it limps to its feet, blood still dripping down its fur. ]]

MINDFANG: -Dang, that sounds painful. She grimaces at the noises its body makes.- MINDFANG: (Its alive........ For now.) -Shes not taking her eyes off it.-

DAVE: -he's frozen. being here with a wolf is such a bad idea. no use running cuz that sure as hell isn't going to happen. WATCHES. QUIETLY-

MINDFANG: -Dont worry squishy human, she will protect you.-

DAVE: -thanks...-

[[ It limps closer, dripping. It seems to be approaching toward the direction of the people and the fire. ]]

DAVE: nice dog

DAVE: wolf

DAVE: i have a wife thats kind of a part robot dog

DAVE: maybe you know her i dont know

REDGLARE: -THE VAGUEST FEELING SOMETHING MAY BE GOING WRONG SOMEWHERE-

MINDFANG: -If it really is getting closer, shes not going to allow it. She picks up the nearest rock and whips it at the over grown puppy.-

REDGLARE: -she sucked the moisture off the stalagmite she broke off. it probably tastes bad...-

KARKAT: =He's jealous and disgusted=

[[ The rock bounces off of it, and it pauses only a moment before it keeps moving. ]]

[[ The bats chittering become louder and their squirming becomes more restless. Suddenly, the bats take off, flying deeper into the cave. ]]

DAVE: (DONT)

REDGLARE: -She flinches.-

REDGLARE: ...

REDGLARE: -Then she starts to back up.-

REDGLARE: (b4ck.)

MINDFANG: -Damn, shes grabbing another rock, this one is much larger.-

MINDFANG: (What is Your suggestion for what we should do then??) -She hisses at him without looking away from the animal.-

DAVE: (wait because its not attacking)

KARKAT: =Oh.... She doesn't need to tell him twice, he just. Puts his hand on her shoulder to guide her as they back track slowly.... nope. NAH=

MINDFANG: (So is your theory to w8 until it does??)

DAVE: (its really hurt tho thats the thing) -carefully extends hand toward wolf-

REDGLARE: -YEAH NAH. if the bats don't wanna deal SHE DOESN'T WANNA DEAL NEITHER-

REDGLARE: -brandishing this big rock-

MINDFANG: -Dave you are going to lose that hand.-

[[ The closer it gets to the firelight, the more they'll seem to see something strange about this wolf. At first it might be interpreted as bone and organs sticking out, but the longer they look, the more it seems to have some sort of... biowiring device on its back. ]]

MINDFANG: -That is arguably worse then bones and organs.-

[[ With a gurgle, it opens its bloody mouth and snaps for Dave's hand. ]]

[[ Redglare and Karkat can now hear distinct sounds of struggle and alarm from their "camp" back in the pitfall. ]]

KARKAT: !! =Okay, he's not going to make her run but he is going to kind of hoist her a little to get some support off her bad leg= (Fuck we have to go back!)

[[ IT GOES FOR A CRAZY BUCKING BRONCO RIDE ON MINDFANG, but it seems like it's trying to crawl onto the rest of her. ]]

Wew boy this ones probably gonna be a tough on to answer.I dont pay a whole lot of attention to a lot of fandom stuff surrounding whatever media I consume, for me personally when I consume any piece of media Im consuming what the creator has to offer and not my own tweaked version of it per say. But thats me personally and thats for AUs and other things in general. Diversity headcanons, I guess Im fine with when other people do it themselves, for me personally I never do it. The closest is actually at one point I thought about a Native American version of Chris Redfield and I only ever thought about that because of the old rejected live action resident evil george romero script where chris is a native american farmer but at that point I actually repurposed that au as my own thing. I apologize for the self shilling but anyways one of the two game ideas that Im trying to develop is a little survival horror game that I want to do cause thats a genre I live so I thought "hey I'm making a resident evil like game, how about of the pkayable characters one can just be this chris redfield like character that I had an au for" basically I tried to do my own thing cause that makes more sense to me. Id rather make my own thing than try to take another media that someone else made. Hell I wouldnt even have these tweaks and alterations of another story if it werent for the story itself being mad by someone else so it kind of feels like id be piggybacking on someone elses work (I make it sound like Im making a legit sequel and not like fan art but bare with me its late at night and Im a little tired). And I guess headcanons are a little different than AUs in that AUs acknowledge its an alternate take where as headcanons are just kind of your own accepted fan canon of something and not everyone takes their headcanon's seriously but me personally id find it weird especially if the media in question already has a sort of diverse cast (I was gonna have a brief tangent avout the definition of diversity but thats a sketchy topic and Id rather not get into so just use you the reader's general version of it) so like say Berserk where most of our main party is white except Casca so like headcanons altering guts's race and gender feels a little weird especially when you start to add the rest of the cast which then includes more canon male/female/black/white/etc like is your headcanon gonna extend to everyone else or just the main character?. I dunno I think ultimately its harmless and you do want you want to do but for me Im fine with the media (unless theres flaws but thats more for critique rather than any sort of fandom creativity thing like fan art which alot of these headcanons usually come into play) that someone painstakingly wrote what they thought was an interesting plot with original characters and etc But in short I guess Ive rambled on like I usually do and this isnt 100% about the question of diverse headcanons. Again you do what you do. Headcanons are harmless but even outside of just that specific headcanon genre, me personally I'd feel it'd be pointless, I paid to see someones content, I wanna see what they made and not my own version of the thing that I need to see first before I even make. And I guess cause I want to create things on my own I'd rather just do that, make my own thing so instead of diverse headcanons I just have a diverse cast of my own. I dunno this topic is a little sketchy and Im rambling on. I apologize if this is long, rambly, and deviates from the question a little.
