I loveeee and adore everything have done for this fandom, whether it be your edits (heart-shattering, wonderful, fantastic, spectacular, the locklyle hands!!!!) or your fanfics. There is a reason why almost everything you've ever written is on my fic rec list, and imo you're in like the top three lockwood & co writers on this site. I'm not lying when I say that Touch is probably my favourite George x reader fic ever (at least top 3!!). Your feedback the fics I write is what keeps me going and it makes me so happy every time! I love that at this point we're also connected outside of tumblr and I get a little glimpse into your life. I just know that when we finally finish the collab fic (one day that will happen I swear lol) it will be the most iconic thing ever written. hi choco! so, long story short, i was casually finding a long ass fic to read since i don't have a life outside my house (mainly bcs i was so bored that i decided to spend my time reading god-tier works on tumblr).

and me being a reader who loves reading full-length fics, i stumbled across brother's best friend. i kid you not, i literally read the story from 2 a.m. until almost 4 in the morning bcs the amount of countless times i took a break to scream in my pillow and to not crying was pretty concerning and then boom, my clock struck at 4 a.m.

god, i freaking love love the fic so much? probably one of my favourite joshua works across tumblr/ao3. i could see the way you actually put in your efforts for all scenes, how reader became more comfortable with joshua as they grew older. joshua in this is so dreamy, it is a typical “brother's best friend au” except that this joshua is so cool with reader's breakdowns and her ups and down, how they unknowingly just being there for each other without the other realising (minus how he was so clueless about his feelings before he goes away, but i was so glad that nothing really comes out as awkward between them when reader met josh once again after she and jennie finally makes up with each other. the downfall of her and jennie's friendship literally took me away and i was so sympathetic with reader reading that part tbh).

anyways, i love the pace sm, and thank you for writing it! i thoroughly enjoyed the wild ride. it was so good and beautiful. will be rereading it again and again, like seriously, i couldn't stress how attached i was while reading the whole thing in one go.

summary: you and Tommy are best friends, and super close. And god, did you have a crush on your pretty bestie, he was just breathtaking. But, you moved into a temporary apartment, and Tommy didn’t wanna check it before hand. That’s how you found out there was. ONLY. ONE. BED.

This is a ROMANTIC fic, it starts of platonic. There’s nothing weird in here I’m sorry I even have to say that, but there’s such weird ppl on the internet. Yes, the plot is that they have to sleep in one bed, but other than cuddling and a kiss or two nothing happens of course. Any weird comments will be deleted.

A sigh left the blonde’s lips. You looked at him. You were on the train to Brighton, where you were getting the keys for your new, shared apartment. It was just temporary, but god, it was still so exciting to move in with someone you loved so much. You were in love with him, it was no secret to yourself, but it was difficult. What is more difficult than having a crush on your best friend? Nothing. You thought. A whistle snapped you back into reality. It was Tommy. ‘Whatcha staring for?’ He said, grinning. You tried not to flush a bright red, but it was really hard for you. You laughed it off. ‘Sorry, I zoned out.’ you excused. You were nervous, excitement bubbling up inside you. You imagined what your life will look like every day with HIM. Late mornings, shared breakfasts, movie nights, cooking for him, cuddles maybe… No, no. Needn’t get your hopes up, it will ruin you. You shook those thoughts off of you, and smiled at your best friend again. ‘There’s still like 4 hours before we can go into the apartment, watcha wanna do?’ He asked, returning your smile. ‘Hmmm, aren’t there woods over there? Wil was talking about that right?’ You suggested, and his face lit up immediately. ‘YEAH! I mean, yeah dude, that sounds cool! We should do like a picnic? I’ll get some food on the station in a minute’ You blushed a bit at his idea, it kinda sounding like a date. ‘Yeah, alright’ and you both looked at the passing landscape outside again.

Your hand brushed over the picnic blanket you bought last moment, at a shop you passed on the way to the woods. It was quite extraordinary, it had pretty white lace on the edges, which contrasted beautifully with the dark ground you were seated on. Tommy noticed it too. ‘That’s very pretty actually, you should keep that. For our apartment’ he pointed at the blanket. You nodded, a big smile on your face. ‘You know what? Yeah, let’s keep it’ he was thinking about your shared apartment, it was obvious, and you loved it. ‘Are you nervous? Your leg’s bouncing.’ He commented. You stopped quickly. ‘Oh, uh, I don’t know? Maybe, but I’m mostly excited’ you answered honestly, and he liked that. He looked you directly in the eyes, nodding happily. ‘Me as well. It will be okay, we got this’ He comfortingly put his hand on the leg that was previously shaking, brushing along the fishnets that were on your legs. ‘Those are really pretty,’ he said, talking about the fishnets. ‘Thank you!’ You smiled even wider. You knew he liked those, that’s mainly why you wore them today, but it still made your heart flutter.

He took your hand as everything was propped in your bags again, and you walked out of the beautiful, forest green woods. To your surprise he held it for the entire walk, and you couldn’t believe that you were ACTUALLY holding his hand right now, but also ACTUALLY were getting the key in the next 15 minutes. You arrived and quickly met up with the guy who would be handing you the keys. It was a bit of a fuss though, there were some miscommunications, but Tommy managed to get it all together. You thanked him honestly, and he petted your back twice. He gave you the honors to open the door for the very first time, and you looked at each other happily as you stepped into the room. It looked pretty good, it was quite cold though, but it was pretty inside. You looked at the bathroom, a office area, and the kitchen. You smiled as he fell on to his bed. ‘Wow that’s soft, and it’s so big? Wtf?’ You giggled at him. He stood up again, hooking his arm through yours. ‘Now let’s see where you shall sleep, hm?’ You nodded. But quickly you realized that there were no rooms left. You looked shocked, and Tommy immediately took the stairs downward to ask the guy what went wrong here. You sipped your water, still taking in what happened, when he came back. ‘And?’ You asked. He was refraining from looking you in the eyes. ‘Well, Y/n, don’t be upset, but I kinda didn’t look at the room first and..’ he began. ‘YOU DIDNT REVIEW THE ROOM?’ you yelled, maybe a bit too hard. ‘Nope, I mean, it’s temporary, and I didn’t think it was necessary’ you nodded. He could be like that. ‘When the man told me it was a two person room, I guessed that there were two separate beds, right’ he said, still looking anywhere but your eyes. You slowly got it all. ‘There’s only one bed.’ He said, reading out your thoughts. ‘There is no couch, Y/n, we don’t have a extra matress..’ He made clear what the situation was. ‘Right’ you said.

You chilled on the bed, hanging out, on opposite sides. You looked at him, you still hadn’t come up with a solution. One of the episodes of the show you were watching was playing on the tv, but you were still focused on the situation you were in. ‘Look Y/n, it’s late, I’m getting tired, I will sleep on the floor’ he said, and he moved up. He was stopped by your hand grabbing his wrist. ‘No. No, Tommy, I will’ you said. But he quickly shook his head. ‘I’m sorry, I mean I created this situation, it’s my fault.’ You were close to him, from having him pulled back towards you. ‘No! No.. It’s okay, i- I don’t, I don’t mind actually.’ You whispered the last part. ‘What was that?’ Tommy looked into your eyes again, a crimson color spread around his nose in a blush. ‘I don’t mind there being one bed, I kinda, well. I really, like you, Tom.’ That took you all your confidence, but you said it. His eyes went wide, and you were scared to see what would be next, as he stuttered a bit. ‘Really?’ He asked, and you nodded. His eyes looked deep into yours, and then fluttered to look at your lips. Your breathing quickened, and he got even closer to you. ‘Is this okay?’ He asked, as his nose brushed against yours. ‘Mhm’ you hummed, your head red as a tomato. And quickly after your response, he pushed his lips against yours, you meeting each other in a loving kiss. He pulled his arms around your waist, yours brushing through his lovely golden curls. It was like coming home after a long time. It was like finally having a large weight off your shoulders that you carried around for long. It was amazing. He pulled away, but still remained close to your face. His breathing was warm, and your heart was racing in your chest. He smiled. You smiled. ‘Sharing the bed, then?’ He commented. You nodded fast, which made him giggle. You quickly got under the covers, warming your body. He pulled you back quickly, meeting his embrace in a close cuddle. This felt fuzzy, like a dream, but you knew that this was the best decision of your life. A kiss was pressed against your temple, and your nose, and he softly whispered ‘I love you’ as you both drifted off in a comfortable sleep.

You fluttered your eyes open, as you rose with the sunshine peeking through the windows. It was bright yellow, like sweet honey in morning light. You smiled, the new room already growing on you. You turned around, and saw a sight which made you smile even more. Your heart jumped as you saw Tommy’s soft golden hair shine in the sunlight, his cheeks a soft rosy color. His eyes were still shut, and watching him breathe for a while, you were sure he was still in a deep sleep. You couldn’t help but touch him, your fingers softly brushing his cheek and neck. You got an idea, and you quickly gave him a peck on the forehead before you got up from the bed. It was chilly, and you made a mental note to ask about the heater later that day. So you put on one of Tommy’s jumpers, it was big on you, but you loved it on you. It was comforting, and you looked at yourself as you moved into the kitchen. You looked into the cabinets, and got some ingredients. You tried to make a breakfast for the both of you with the lack of groceries you had, but when it was done, it was quite okay. Your stomach was hurting from the hunger, so you quickly poured a glass of orange juice as you moved the meal into the bedroom. You placed the tray on your bed, and crawled onto the matress as well. You smiled, thinking about how he’d like it, and you got up with an idea to wake him. You kissed him on the lips, his still sleeping figure not moving. You littered him with little kisses, and he slowly opened his eyes. ‘Good morning, darling.’ He smiled, all the memories from yesterday came back to him. He kissed you again, pulling you in. ‘Hi baby’ he said, and he looked at the tray you were pointing that. His eyes widened quickly. ‘AWWWWWW THAT LOOKS SO YUMMY DID YOU MAKE THAT?’ He said in his high pitched voice, his brows going up. You smiled, and answered with a ‘YEAHHH’. He tickled you and pulled you close again, and you ate the breakfast together in a comfortable silence. It started to pour outside, so you staid inside that day, in bed, cuddling. You looked at your hands, which were intertwining in front of you. He stroked yours, nuzzling his head into your head. ‘Y/n?’ he whispered. ‘Mhm?’ ‘What would you think of… being my significant other?’ He mumbled. You looked up at him, and you nodded happily ‘I think that’s a lovely idea’ you smiled, and pulled him even closer.
