As Steve’s best friend which he’s probably talked about how messy his and Nancy’s breakup was and he’s also said that he wasn’t in love with her anymore, why on earth would Robin push for Nancy and Steve to get back together knowing that information while also knowing that Nancy and Jonathan are dating?

Eddie’s ignorance to knowing Nancy is taken is understandable so him pushing that narrative made sense in a way but for Robin to do it was such a bad writing moment.

Besides no one asked for a love triangle, the fruity four is what we wanted.

i haven’t watched all of the first season but the more i read about lockwood & co (and the more fanfiction i read of it) the more angry i get that it was cancelled, like this show was so cool wtf netflix? YOU DONT HAVE TO GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY TO STRANGER THINGS!

The way Kira and Bolts change places in the opening after episode 34 kinda drives me insane btw. Kira and his mother take over the antagonist shots, while Bolts takes over the supportive best friend role.

Because Bolts is a genuine friendship that Joe has built throughout this season. He was first presented as a “bad” guy, but he and Joe managed to work out their misunderstandings, and come to respect each other. Bolts literally had an arc where he thought Joe murdered his friend’s entire village, but they were able to get through it because he interacted with Joe and had moments of weakness around Joe.

While Kira is revealed to have been hiding almost every single aspect of his life from Joe to keep up the act of being Joe’s perfect friend. He smiles and runs away when he even falters just a Little in front of Joe. He thinks he can manage everything and that everything is perfectly under his control.

Like Joe is genuinely just a good person (*except the occasional times he’s a bastard but he’s literally 10 so it’s fine. 10 year olds are like that). Joe wanted to help Bolts even when he was literally telling him to fuck off. He’s an earnest little guy. He wants to be honest with Kira—he wanted to tell Kira that he’s involved with creatures the second Kira came back to the country, and the only reason he couldn’t is cuz Deckie wouldn’t let him. Joe trusts Kira so much it’s insane. But Kira won’t let him in at all, and it culminates in Joe accidentally spotting Kira at his literal worst—killing an innocent old man that Joe knew just wanted to make people happy. And all their secrets and perfect little friendship falls apart from there.

Now that Joe’s aware of what Kira’s doing, he has to fight to get his feelings and frustrations through to him. And since Kira’s aware that Joe’s involved in the creature wars, his seigi dictates that he and Joe are enemies. (Well, at least before he realizes and accepts that Joe is his actual seigi, the real thing he fights to protect. Even after the secret’s out and they’re enemies, he protects Joe. Aha.)

Anyway and the opening change that drives me the most insane is the shot of Kira walking towards Joe.

One trait, that if a character has it, you immediately hate them. Doesn't matter if they are a villain, a hero, a sidekick, a love interest, in the background, a cryptid wizard moving the plot along, if they have this trait you hate them and want them gone yesterday.

urg just being too fawning. like, if a character has nothing going for them except to be obsessed with the main character it's just so boring and dull and i find them so annoying. like okay if its a very creepy 'the text recognizes that this person is obsessive over the MC and that's like that intentionally bc its supposed to be disturbing' then its one thing. i can vibe that. they're doing something interesting. they're playing with some concepts and ideas there.

but like, if the character is just, literally nothing but fluff, being all about being into another character, with literally no other defining characteristics, and everything they do just being about them being into or interested in the other character its just like- god, you're annoying. particularly hateful when it happens in anime. particularly particularly hateful in anime women and girls, for whom it is an unfortunate staple

like i'm sorry hinata, i know you tried to have a big moment in the spotlight when you stood up to pein, but the fact that it was all about you being into naruto so so undercut any meaning or weight that whole thing had. it was cringe. it sucked so bad. it could have been so, so interesting but it just wasn't. i could name a hundred thousand other examples, each as egregious.

it's just infuriating when a character who could be interesting and have stuff going on in their own right is flattened out to just being a love interest side-piece. immediately can't stand to have them onscreen. they're annoying and i would literally rather they weren't there.
