At some point we need to talk about how MCU Bucky seems to mistrust White people.
I used to joke about how Bucky just decided to stop hanging out with White people with the sole exception of Steve, who's now gone, but I don't think it's a joke anymore.
I genuinely think Bucky mistrusts White people because he has seen things and associates people who want to hurt him (or his close ones) to Whiteness.
White Supremacy ruined his life. Because of Hydra supremacist ideology, Bucky was captured, experimented on, brainwashed and tortured and turned into a brainwashed assassin with no control over his action, all of this for I don’t know what cause.
I think that in Bucky's mind, at least post-Winter Soldier Bucky, White people have only brought problems and pain in his life, and have always tried to hurt him: Hydra (the brainwashing and mind control), Tony Stark (trying to kill him in Civil War), Zemo (mind controlling him and using him as an asset) and also... the US government.
And in Bucky's mind, the only people who have ever tried to help him were not White: First T'Challa, when he didn't even have to (T'Challa's anger towards Bucky was legitimate, so he didn't owe anything to Bucky, but he helped him anyway), then there was Ayo, who freed him from the trigger words, (when she really didn't have to either btw), and then Sam who befriended him, and was among one of the first person who behave as if he was still the Winter Soldier (besides Stevo).
Besides, having lived two years in an African country, he must have learned more about colonialism, imperialism, White supremacy than what he would have learned in the US, depending on if Wakandans discuss this kind of topics when they're with each other.
I'm not sure where Wakanda is geographically, I have seen several maps but I'm not sure exactly what are Wakanda's neighbour countries, but I can imagine that if it's close to Congo (DRC), for instance, Bucky must have heard, in those two years, about the consequences of colonialism, massacres perpetuated by Europeans France and Belgium, the exploitation of resources and raw materials that are still happening to this day, all related to White supremacy ideology. And past and present crimes that must be a big reason why Wakanda chose to stay hidden all those years. I think Wakanda is closer to Uganda, Kenya (I’m not sure), but this still works for a lot of East African countries.
Maybe he got to hear about so many other aspects that he wouldn't have had if he had remained in the US. And all of this contributed to wanting to stay away from White people as a general rule, or at least to be very wary of them.
That's why the only people he has created a deep bond with were not White: Ayo, Sam, Yori
That's why the only women he was interested in and openly flirted with were not White: Leah, Sarah
That’s why he instictively puts up a barrier with the White women he encounters, and I would even say he is usually suspicious of them: we have seen this with Sharon and with Dr. Raynor, his therapist.
And let's not even talk about the White Men: Zemo, it's totally understandable, but there's also Walker: Bucky is more agressive/ hateful towards John Walker when you would think Sam would be the one who had more reasons to not like the man.
Of course I would need to see more interactions with other characters and other Avengers to just evaluate his behavior with other White characters, but even in Captain America: Civil War, the only character he really interacted with oustide of Steve in Team Cap, was the only non-White member of the team, Sam. Same with Infinity War and Endgame, Sam and T’Challa.
I don't believe Bucky understands racism (it's not something I think he would know more about while living in Wakanda btw) and I don't believe he understands what Sam went through as a Black man in the US, and he never will. But he does understand the dangers of White supremacy and as a result has made the choice to avoid White people as much as possible, and observe the greatest caution whenever he has to deal with them. Until it is proven that they are trustworthy.
The only times we saw Bucky being relaxed and at ease, was when he was surrounded with non-White people, he admitted in therapy that the only moment he had a rest was in Wakanda, then we see him quite comfortable and friendly with Yori, even though he was hiding a secret from him, and then in Delacroix with Sam.
I would love to hear other thoughts, but this is the general vibe I personally get from his character.

bucky barnes x stark!reader.
summary; when Bucky sees you again a few months after the blip he can’t help but remember his past lover.
warnings; spoilers from the serie hehe prob angst & fluff ig lol mentions of tony’s death
notes; soooo it’s been a while since i’ve written something sooo this might suck ass lol anyways remember english isn’t my first language sooo yeah enjoy :D
Tumblr media
You were too tired to keep your eyes open, your body kept on swaying until you finally gave up making your head land on Bucky’s shoulder. His conversation with Sam getting interrupted when he felt your arms hug his metal arm.
Sharon had a smirk on her face and decided to start getting prepared for a meeting she had. “I have stuff to do so why don’t you guys enjoy the party? And don’t cause any trouble.” She said before leaving the room.
Sam stood up and began walking towards the door with Zemo following him. “You coming?” He asked his new partner.
“Uh, yeah, just let me lay her down.” Bucky answered and took your head carefully, guiding your body to lay properly on the couch, you were still holding onto his arm so he took one of the matching cushions of the couch and gave it to you so your arms could let go of his.
He took his jacket off and decided to cover you with it, making sure your back and arms were under it. He softly smiled and placed a piece of hair behind your ear so it wouldn’t tickle your face.
After that he turned around and saw both Sam and Zemo looking at him a subtle smirk. “What?”
“I’ve never seen you being so gentle.” He mocked gaining a groan from Bucky. “What’s up with that? Since the whole mission started you have been acting weird, is it because of Stark?”
“Depends on which one you’re talking about.” Bucky took one last glance at your sleeping figure.
“Her.”
Sighing, Bucky massaged his temple. “I need a drink first.”
*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。
Back on Zemo’s private jet you decided to give everyone the cold shoulder, angry at them for leaving you without saying anything or at least leaving a note. You could’ve helped them with the hundreds of mercenaries that attacked them. Zemo placed a plate with food on it in front of you and gave you a small smile, trying to make you feel at ease.
Walking down the street with Zemo like nothings wrong made you feel on edge. Thinking that maybe the new copy of Steve would appear and make things harder but you kept on wishing that it wouldn’t be the case. Zemo lead the group to a unknown building.
“I’m gonna go on a walk.” Bucky said out of nowhere.
“Take Y/N with you, don’t what could happen.” Sam said and took your shoulder.
You rolled your eyes. “Sam, he can take care of himself.” Taking his hand off your shoulder you began walking to the buildings door, leaving everyone behind.
“See you guys in a bit.”
He came back after a few minutes and started talking about how the wakandians are looking for Zemo.
All of this mess made you wonder why were you there in the first place. Sure, you had nothing to do since your father died and also coming back after 5 years, didn’t help at all. But maybe you were there because Sam called, he was the only one who tried to search for you when you decided to disappear.
“Your TT would be proud of you.” Zemo’s voice brought you back into reality after watching their whole conversation and play it on your mind.
“What’s a TT?” You asked with furrowed eyebrows.
“Whatever, we need to get moving.” Sam spoke dismissing the question you made.
You weren’t sure if the plan would work, searching for Donya was harder that you could think of and it definitively made you wonder what could go wrong if anyone from the group made a mistake. And losing your powers didn’t help the situation at all. But that’s a secret. Nobody knows you lost them and the most important thing, nobody knows you’re slowly dying. So maybe that’s one of the reasons you decided to help Sam, doing a last mission until your body gives up. You just hoped you get to finish the mission and not die in the middle of it.
But now, you had to worry about another thing. And that is John Walker, getting himself in things he doesn’t understand nor is involved in. Waiting for Sam next to him wasn’t the best moment in your life, the only thing you could do was stare at him with dislike written on your face.
Feelings like your skins burned you decided to start rubbing the sides of your neck and Bucky didn’t let that pass through blind eyes.
“Are you okay?” Bucky asks with a bit of concern filling his voice.
“Uh, yeah.” You cleared your throat. “I’m probably getting sick, don’t worry.”
Before Bucky could say anything else, Walker decided to put the mission on risk and walk inside the building Sam and Karli were having a conversation. You extended your hand to hold John by the shoulder.
“Why don’t you go and take a seat? You’re going to ruin the plan if you walk inside.” You spoke, trying to hold in the pain and burning under your skin.
John pushed you and entered the building.
And just like that, the whole situation became a mess. Ruining and shouting, the only thing you had become used to in these days.
The Dora Milaje were now your only solution. And they definitely know how to make a good entrance.
“Why don’t you relax pal?” You said to John before he gets himself hurt by the Dora Milaje, but it was too late, he placed his hand on Ayo’s shoulder. Big mistake.
You decided to sit back and watch them fight, you and Zemo exchanged looks, you gave him a nod, letting him go to the bathroom and possibly run away.
“I told you to relax, it’s what you deserve for being an ass.” You spoke with mock towards John.
Before the Dora Milaje could leave, Ayo turned her head to you and extended her hand, which was holding a stick, just like the ones the Dora Milaje use but it looked different.
“Here, Shuri told me to give it to you.” You took it and placed on your back.
Now it was only Sam, Bucky and you.
You were too tired to keep going, there’s was no point in being there without powers, you could barely fight and it made you angry. But what made you feel even worse is that you didn’t know what was causing it and seeing your body fill in with different colored lines brought back some bad memories.
Tony was well-know for not sharing his feelings or thoughts. And that made it harder for you to help him. Being at a young age didn’t matter, you did understand what was happening to him, slowly dying by the toxins coming from his reactor.
Seeing the lines in his neck will always haunt you for the rest of your life. The worst part of it is that you couldn’t tell anyone about it, he made you promise not to tell Pepper or Happy and that also caused you some trauma. He made you believe you couldn’t vent out your problems to your family or friends. You didn’t have anyone. Not even Pepper. You decided not to bother her or Morgan with the “My adoptive dad died and I have no one else” act. So it was really hard to say anything to Bucky or Sam, you didn’t want them to know that your body is not the same since you fought against Thanos.
“Go to Sarah’s, I’ll tell her to receive you back at home, okay?” Sam took both of your shoulders. “You don’t look so well, let Buck and I finish this and then call me when you feel better.”
You nodded and decided to leave immediately. Before you could go, Bucky took your arm, grabbing your attention.
“Be careful, if something happens call me immediately.” He said in a serious tone. You pushed his hand off you and muttered a small yes.
Bucky’s eyes didn’t leave your figure until it disappeared behind doors. Sighing he took a seat on the coach.
“I think it’s time for you to tell me what’s happening between you and Y/N.” Sam demanded while crossing his arms.
Nodding, Bucky tapped the seat next to him, indicating Sam to sit there so he could start speaking.
“I’ve known her even before the mess at the airport started.” Bucky started to slowly speak. “Or at least her face.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Y/N, she looks like someone I used to know back in the 40s, her name was Sophia.” He explained with clear pain showing in his eyes. “Sophia and I met while I was preparing to become a soldier, she was a nurse back then.”
“What happened to her?” Sam asked with wonder running in his mind. He wanted to ask more questions about this person.
“Died of old age. I fell in love with her, but never saw Sophie again, after Steve rescued me I tried searching for her but nobody knew what happened to her and just decided not to tell anyone about it.”
“Not even Steve?”
Bucky shook his head and sighed. “When I saw Y/N back at the airport I thought my mind was playing games with me and that’s why I never touched her when Y/N and Tony decided to go against Steve and I.”
Sam patted his friends back, trying to bring him some kind of comfort but it didn’t help.
“And I’m just frustrated because I don’t know why she looks like Sophie, I asked the wakandians if they could find any information about Sophie and they found about her family, she had two kids and one of them had a girl.” Bucky bit his lips, trying to see if he could continue the story.
“You don’t have to tell me everything Buck, if it’s hard for you then you ca—“
Bucky’s voice interrupted him. “It’s fine. You see, everyone knows Tony adopted her, so it felt like there only was one answer. She had to be the daughter of Sophie’s children but then it was another death end. I recently found out that she’s not from Sophie’s family. It’s just fate I guess.”
“Maybe the destiny is giving you another chance to be with her.” Sam tried to give a good answer to him after what he said.
“I don’t think so but if it is that way, then I don’t deserve it”

TFATWS EPISODE 4 SPOILERS BELOW
Tumblr media
guys can we just please fucking appreciate episode 4 of the falcon and the winter soldier? jesus fucking christ this episode was so fucking good and we got so much out of it and oh god ohhhh godddd i hate john walker but the episode was so good that i’m about to cry
Tumblr media
the opening scene? you can literally see bucky “freeing” himself as he is finally able to resist the words and then the scene cuts to ayo and bucky from the previous episode and she says “how could you free him?” about zemo. which TO ME feels like that means a lot to bucky knowing that he has a lot of self doubt about his character. it’s almost as if the question is asking how could bucky have freed the winter soldier. ya feel? also there’s a lot of talk about bucky ‘not knowing’ that the wakandans could just disengage his arm like that. when bucky says ‘no’ to sam asking if he knew they could do that, my interpretation of that is bucky was being honest. sure, the arm wasn’t embedded into his skin or fused into his shoulder so bucky probably knew there was a way to take it out. but did he know that they could easily disengage it while in combat? probably not.
Tumblr media
i also think that no ones intention was to kill anyone. karli is obviously young and i don’t think she had ever intended to start killing people like this but because she is young, things tend to get messy faster rather than not. it starts with the bombing at the GRC with the defense of “this is the only language these people understand” then it was lemar. prior to lemar, there were hardly accidental kills or any kills at all. but when people are threatened, it is instincts to attack back with more power. karli threatens sam’s sister, even though she had just lost mama donya (which is making her more emotional/compulsive) so she knows full well how important family is but chose to be the ‘bad person’ here. so then john walker killed karli’s second in command after she killed lemar and so instinctively, karli will get more aggressive in order to reach her goal. i cant wait to see how she tries to control/justify what she will do next???? like sam agrees with karli’s ideals but at what point will he realize that she must be stopped at all means possible and that zemo was kinda right?????
Tumblr media
anyways! john walker! he! doesn’t! deserve! the! shield! never! did! never! will! “the serum amplifies everything that is inside. so, good becomes great. bad becomes worse. [...] because a strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power.” -dr. abraham erskine in captain america: the first avenger, about the super soldier serum. we’ve only just met john walker but most of us hate him lol and he is sus. but from the beginning he’s already an over achiever, already experienced in being honored for doing something good. now, the only difference is that there is a label on him. but we can also see that he’s kinda full of shit rage. he’s visibly angry when nobody would talk in episode 3 when they raid the safe house that karli was in. so once he took the super soldier serum, he’s stronger, sure. but now the rage is also enhanced. he wrongfully killed karli’s second in command in an act of rage. sure, his partner was just killed but if you’re a representation of ‘hope’, you can’t blatantly kill someone the way he did.
Tumblr media
anyways the scene that walker kills the guy???? PARALLEL1!!1!1!1!1!!1 steve rogers in captain america: civil war raises his shield on tony stark and brings it down onto the arc reactor of his iron man suit when that could have easily been a fatal blow to the head. even when enraged enough to fight against a close teammate to protect a brother figure, steve had enough strength to pull himself back and say, ‘hey this isn’t what i stand for.’ unlike walker, who kills the guy without hesitation in a moment of pure rage. there’s nothing in him that is doubting that killing the wrong man is bad. walker’s putting the shield into the guys face and chest, repeatedly as he’s begging for his life. and when he’s done, the shield is covered in blood. it’s the blood, the eccentricity, the consequences of taking the serum, everything is on his hands (and on the thing he is supposed to represent).
Tumblr media
can i also just say how much i love the directing style of this episode? camera movement is actually so important to filmography and i am not a professional or anything but i love appreciating the skills 🥺 like when lemar is killed, the camera pans onto sam and bucky. it’s like the world stops for a bit as you hear the snap of his neck. the pause in everything as you hear walker trying to wake lemar up. then, everyone runs. now, even though walker is fighting karli’s guy, the camera movement is no longer aggressively moving like a fight scene usually is. instead, it’s mostly steady, showing the goal that walker is determined to reach.
Tumblr media
OH GOD AND ZEMO. idk how to feel about him. i love him but i also hate him???? fksjsjwkjdkx his dancing makes me want to forgive him but he’s also an idiot with an agenda???? but his DANCING. omg and episode 4 is named the world is watching and omggggg that means that the video of walker must have gone fucking viral for SURE i mean obviously it did but OH MY FUCKING GOD. god i have so many things to say about this episode and i can’t fucking wait for episode 5 omg but i’m just rambling at this point lol

safety pin the pieces of our broken hearts / bucky barnes x reader.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader Description: After Steve went back to the past you’re left with the job of looking after his best friend but it isn’t as easy as it sounds. Word Count: 1358 Warnings: None. i dont think so anyway. A/N: Okaaay here we go!! part one of a Bucky series. So, uhhhh, Tony Stark is alive in this because I refuse to live in a world without him and he’s the reader’s dad for... reasons that’ll come to light later on. i’m going to v loosely follow The Falcon & The Winter Soldier ok thank you pls be kind this is my first time writing Bucky.
It felt like you’d been sat in the boring old waiting room for hours when in reality it had barely been forty-five minutes. At least your wrist was getting exercise with the amount of times you were raising it to check the time on your watch. Only fifteen more minutes to go then you’d be able to leave that dreaded place. Time seemed to drag on, the people around you irritating you more and more. It was getting to the point where you were about to stand up and yell at the woman who was tapping her fingernails against the wooden arm of the chair. Luckily, Bucky came out of his therapy session with a scowl on his face — the usual look he wore after a session. He gestured his head towards the exit to which you quickly followed him out.
“How’d it go?” You asked as the two of you walked back to the apartment you had pretty much been forced to share.
When Steve had told you his plan he knew that someone needed to take care of Bucky when he was gone and he’d bestowed that duty on you. Unfortunately, you couldn’t refuse no matter how much you’d wanted to. It wasn’t that you didn’t like Bucky because you did — you were friends or at least friendly with each other. It was more so the fact that you knew taking up that responsibility would hurt your father who just so happened to be none other than Tony Stark himself. He still held a grudge against Bucky for killing his parents — your grandparents — and you didn’t blame him but you also didn’t share the same feelings as your father. While Bucky had done some terrible things, that hadn’t been him. That had been the Winter Soldier. In your mind, Bucky and the Winter Soldier were two different people. Poor Bucky had been brainwashed into doing all the awful things he’d done and now he was living with all the guilt and memories of things that he’d had no control over. It had taken some talking with your dad but he’d decided that maybe having someone close to Bucky could at least make sure he didn’t slip again. That also meant daily updates to Tony so he could make sure you were safe. So, you and Bucky had a small apartment in New York. It wasn’t ideal but you were making it work as best you could.
“Same as always,” he shrugged his shoulders. “Wants me to talk to more people or something.”
“You know you should. Sam keeps asking me about you since you won’t answer him.”
“Don’t want to talk to him. Don’t want to talk to you most days but I have no choice on that one.”
You rolled your eyes. “I’m going to ignore that because I know you don’t mean it and you’re just grumpy. Maybe consider at least texting Sam so I don’t have to be bombarded by him.”
“No,” he simply stated. “I’m taking a walk.”
Before you could protest, he was gone leaving you feeling grumpy now. You knew Bucky wasn’t in the best place right now. He was trying to make amends for all the things the Winter Soldier had done and he was processing the fact that Steve was gone. Not to mention the fact that Sam had given the shield away. That had been the one thing that had sent him into a deep pit of moodiness. At this point you were used to it.
With a sigh, you stepped into your apartment, throwing your jacket on the couch. Bucky was definitely going to give you crap for that later but you didn’t care. Letting out a heavy sigh, you threw yourself down onto the couch. Before you knew it, your eyes were closing and an unexpected nap took over you.
*****
“Seriously, (Y/N)?” Bucky’s voice woke you up. Sitting up, you rubbed your eyes with the palm of your hands to look over at your roommate who had your jacket in his hands. “We have a coat hanger right there.”
With a huff, he placed your jacket on one of the hooks and headed for the door. Your brows furrowed in confusion. Hadn’t he just got back? How long had you been asleep? “Didn’t you just get in?”
“No. I’ve been back three hours. You were just channelling your inner sleeping beauty over there,” his hand was on the door knob. “I’ve got a date so I’ll be back later, I guess.”
“A date?!” You asked sounding far more shocked than you wanted to.
“Don’t even make a comment. I’m leaving.”
And yet again before you could even say anything he was gone. Bucky was going on a date? That was new. Maybe he was taking his therapists advice after all. As happy as you were that he was trying to give himself some semblance of a normal life, it stung a little bit that he seemed to rather spend some time with anyone that wasn’t you. It was probably because of Tony. While Bucky was friendly with you he always seemed to keep his distance. He never really let you in — he never really let anyone in. Most nights you were both either sat in silence watching a movie with the odd comment here and there or in your own rooms. Conversations never went any deeper than small talk. It was something you badly wanted to change. You wanted to be to Bucky what Steve was but you knew nobody would ever fill his shoes. All you could do was try to be there for Bucky despite how he was adamant he didn’t need anyone.
It was with that thought that you stood up from the couch to make your way to your room with your phone in your hand. After sending a quick text to your dad to let him know the latest Bucky update, you changed into your PJs and got into bed.
*****
It was the loud sound of the TV that woke you the next morning. A tired yawn passed your lips as you made your way into the living room. After a stretch, you finally saw the scene in front of you. Bucky was sat on the floor, glaring at the TV with a clenched jaw. It was then that you finally saw what had him so upset. John Walker was Captain America. John Walker was claiming Steve Rogers was a brother to him. The anger bubbled up inside you, too. Without thinking, you made your way towards Bucky and the TV. After placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, you switched the TV off.
“Don’t torture yourself like that, Buck,” you said softly. It broke your heart when you noticed the hint of tears forming in his eyes but you knew he wouldn’t let them fall. It was angry tears — you didn’t blame him one bit.
“Don’t call me Buck. Only Steve can,” he shrugged your hand off his shoulder and got to his feet. “This is all Sam’s fault.”
“No, it’s not! He did what he thought was best.”
“How is giving the shield away what’s best? Steve trusted him with that and this is what he does with it? Give it to them so they could give it to... him? If he was here right now....” Bucky seethed making his way to his room with you following him.
“I don’t think you understand,” you started but was stopped when Bucky spun around to cut you off with a bag in his hand.
“I’m off to find Sam so pack a bag because I’m sure you’re going to have to follow me like the little lost puppy you are so you can send updates to that paranoid dad of yours,” a glare was shot your way before his attention was focused on stuffing clothes into his bag.
“Okay...” you said quietly. His words hurt you but you knew he was angry with Sam and the new Captain America, not you. There was no use in fighting him right now. So without a word, you made your way to your own room and followed suit.
Guess you were off to see Sam.

tfatws Not My Captain P1
“ I don’t know Sam maybe this is the wrong address.” Bucky said knocking on the door once more. “ We should just leave, and think of something else.” Bucky said looking for any reason to leave.
“ She’s probably just not home, lets just wait a few minutes.” Sam responded.
A few seconds later a motorcycle that was speeding down the street, came to a halt in front of the house. A woman stepped off the bike, and took of a helmet, 2 long sweeping braids fall out of the helmet and landed on her back. She balance the bike helmet on the handlebars.
She took off her sunglasses and tucked them in her shirt. She started walking up the sidewalk , and started fishing around the back pocket of her jeans for keys .She was the spitting image of her father, they had the same eyes, and the same brown hair though hers was way longer than his . Y/N Stark. Shew was a few feet away from the porch, she saw them.
“ What are you doing here?” Y/N asked.
“ It’s kind of a long story. ”Bucky said scratching his head.
Y/N pushed past the pair, and shoved the key in the keyhole. She forced open the door so forcefully that it swung open wide. At the door was waiting a few dogs and a cat. She walked through the cavalcade of 4 legged animals and bent down and pet one of them. She walked in her house and fought the urge to slam the door behind her.
“ Are you going to come in?” She asked without looking at them
They followed her into the house and trailed her through the kitchen. They scurried to the kitchen and sat down at the table , and sat down at the kitchen table. Their bags placed next to them. She disappeared to the living room and threw her backpack on the couch. Bucky and Sam could hear her loud sigh from the kitchen.  When she came back in Bucky and Sam really got to look at her, she looked not great.
Instead of joining them at the kitchen table, she scurried about  the kitchen doing things. She pulled out baking pans and flour from her pantry, After a few awkward moments she finally spoke.
“Are you here about Wanda?” Y/N asked bluntly, she sounded asperated.
“ Wanda?” Sam questioned. “ What happened with Wanda?”
“ Nothing... never mind.” Y/N said shaking her head slightly.
“ Pepper called me, she’s worried about you.” Sam said.
" Why would she be worried?” Y/N asked, she was now measuring ingredients.
“ She’s been sending you checks every other weeks, says you haven’t been cashing them.” Sam said using the voice he always used when he was talking to veterans. Y/N continued to busy herself about the kitchen, she only shrugged in response. “ Says you haven’t touched her trust fund either.” Sam started digging through his bag. “ She also called me in hysterics, said you were in the hospital. Twice.” This caused Y/N’s eyes to grow wide. She took a shaky breath. Sam placed two files on the kitchen table.
“ Twice?” Bucky questioned. His eyes darted to Y/N and he was suddenly scanning her. He took notice of the brace of the wrist and ankle. He started to reach for the file, but Y/N snatched it before he could grab it.
“ How did she find out?” Y/N asked, she stopped what she was doing, and looked defeated.
“ She’s still you’re emergency contact, are you okay?” Sam said.
Y/N discarded the files on the kitchen counter. She started mixing ingredients, she took a weary breath and she closed her eyes for a bit.
“ Did you read it?” She asked.
“ No.” Sam said looking at her with empathy. “ I’m asking you again... are you okay?”
Bucky looked at Y/N with confused wide eyes it was clear that he was missing something.
“ I’m fine... tell Pepper I’m fine.” Y/N said through baited and harsh breaths.
“ Okay. I’ll tell her.” Sam responded.
“ How is Pepper and Morgan?” Y/N asked.
“ There doing okay, would be better if they had you.” Sam said.
“ I’ll call, I will, I promise.” Y/N said giving Sam a trustful nod.
“ Okay. I’ll tell them that you’re okay.” Sam said nodded back.
“ Thanks. Now why are you really here?” Y/N asked.
“ We need help.” Bucky said, his eyes were darting around the room.
“ With?” Y/N asked her eyes were drier now.
“ It’s complicated.” Sam said looking at the ground.
“ Is it because you gave up the shield?” Y/N asked, still mixing the batter.
“ How did you know about that?” Sam said defensive.
“ I saw it on the news. I don’t live under a rock. Giving it up  was a mistake Sam.” Y/N said, she said placing the cupcakes in the oven.
“ I didn’t realize that at the time.” Sam said, his eyes darted to the floor.
“ Steve gave it to you for a reason, if he wanted the government to have it, he would have gave it to them.” Y/N said.
“ I’m aware of that fact.” Sam said, he sounded less ashamed and more angry.
“ That shield meant a lot of things to a lot of people, including Tony.” Y/N said she just sounded so tired.
“ You’re one to talk, you didn’t even come to Tony’s funeral.” Sam said standing up, and pounding his fist on the table.
“ You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to come into my house and give me crap, especially after you gave up the shield.” Y/N said slamming her hands on the table.
“ You don’t now anything about that.”
“ Oh I know plenty.” Y/N said through her teeth.
“ Clearly not enough.” Sam said, his voice raised.
“ I know enough to know that giving up that shield was a mistake. Steve made mistakes, but you two were not one of them.” She said pointing at the two men.
“ You didn’t even know Steve-” Bucky interjected.
“ I knew Steve. You were gone for 5 years. He was my friend.” Y/n said raising her voice.
“ I’ve known Steve my whole life, you’ve known him for 5 minutes, he made plenty of mistakes.” Bucky said, now everybody was standing.
“ I never said he didn’t make any mistakes, I said that you two weren’t one of them.” Y/N said, her brows were furrowed and she was speaking through her teeth.
“ You don’t  know anything about me.” Bucky said.
“ Oh.. don’t tell me you’ve forgotten. I know plenty.” Y/N said through a snarky smile that made Bucky take a step back.
Y/N awoke to a soft knocking on her door, she checked the clock on the wall, and was surprised to see that it was 3am. She begrudgingly got out of bed and limped through the hallway and to the door. She looked through the peephole to see Sargent Barnes on her doorstep with flowers. She opened the door.
“ Sargent Barnes, what are you doing here? Y/N asked leaning on the doorframe for support.
“ Sorry if it’s a bad time.” He responded, his hair looked moist and he looked upset.
“ It’s 3am Sargent.”
“ I’m sorry... I probably should have waited til’ morning.” Bucky said brushing his fingers through his hair.
“ It’s fine... sleep is for losers anyway.” Y/N said laughing at her on joke. “ Did you need something?”
“ My therapist wants me to make amends.” Bucky said. Y/N nodded confused.
“ And that involves me how?”
“ I never got to apologize to Tony, and I realized that I owe you an apology too.”
“ Why do you owe me an apology?”
“ I’m sorry for killing your grandpa...and trying to kill Tony.”
“ It’s okay.”
“ It isn’t okay.” Bucky’s eyes started to well into tears.
“ I forgive you.” Y/N said. Bucky’s eyes went wide, and a few tears streamed from his face. He tried to stifle a sob, but ended up collapsing onto Y/N in a fit of tear. That was the first time that somebody that he hurt forgave him. Not pardoned him, or excused his actions or blamed the “ Winter Solider”. But actually forgave him.
“ Why did we even come here?” Bucky said, slamming back down to the floor.
“ You came here because you need help and you turned down Walker, and you’re starting to think that was a mistake.” Y/N said her beginning to calm down as well.
“ John Walker?” Sam said throwing a glance at Bucky
“ Yes ,John Walker. Is there another Walker that would be relevant right now?”
“ How do you know Walker?” Bucky asked
“ He came here.”Y/N responded casually.
“ He came here? When?” Sam pressed.
“ A while ago, why?” Y/N asked.
“What did he want?” Bucky pressed.
“ Help. Cause he’s in over his head, just like you are.” Y/N said pointing at Bucky and Sam.
“ Did you tell him anything?” Sam asked rolling his eyes.
“ About the Flag Smashers? No.”
“ How do you know about the Flag Smashers?” Bucky asked
“Have you met me?” Y/N replied with a chuckle.
“ What did you find out?” Sam asked.
“ There a group of vigilantes, want a world without borders, where everyone has access to basic resources and stuff. The leader is a girl named Sin, she was displaced by the blip. They haven’t killed anybody, but the pattern could only escalate.”
“ That’s what were afraid of.” Bucky said.
“ Are you in?” Sam asked.
“ Its what Steve would do.” Bucky said.
“ I’m very well aware of what Steve would do. And I’m in. You can spend the night  tonight, and we’ll come up with a plan tomorrow.”

Just going to put this out there...
There are about a thousand justifiable reasons why Sam is hesitant to take up the shield and thought the best thing to do would be to give it to the Smithsonian and let it go with Steve. Chief among them is absolutely the fact that as a Black man, he hasn’t always felt like America has had his back the way that he has had its. He’s not wild about being a symbol when he’s really still in a place where it is hard everyday to get through what he’s been through-- just living in his skin, during the war, losing Riley, losing Steve, everything-- as a man. But there’s also another reason that I think could be part of it and it would be pretty ironic, considering that Bucky’s own conflicts are causing him to see Sam with the shield as the only good end result. (Bucky’s conflicts are not all that dissimilar to Sam. A closeted POW soldier left behind by his government fighting every day for a sense of mental and physical autonomy over his own mind and body knows more than anyone might realize about Sam’s own conflicts, which is another reason why they’re well-suited.) So, what is that ironic other reason why Sam could have turned down the shield? Well, uh... Bucky.
Consider that being Captain America is a lot different than being The Falcon. The show even nods to this a bit with Walker and Lemar in TFATWS (and The Hulk and Ant-Man in Endgame). The big, marquee superhero names are the ones with all the fanfare and pomp and circumstance. No one has ever got Scott Lang’s hometown high school football team to learn and perform a remix of the Captain America song for his interview with Good Morning America. Sam is only really quasi-famous right now on a mainstream level. The person that we see recognize him is a Black kid (Black Kid TM), in a scene that speaks to the importance of representation and also to some of its complexities. (The ”My daddy says it’s ‘Black Falcon’” moment which is something that Sam, who is Black and also uh literally The Falcon, actually thinks is a bit regressive and finds frustrating.) The point, though, is that Sam is recognizable instantly to many people who look like him, including kids, but the show often points out how silo-ed even superhero fandom is inside the MCU because the two white people who eventually can recognize Sam as The Falcon have to take a beat and really think about it. In the case of the bank manager, Sam has to all but tell him who he is. The show illustrates how this is a thing that is meant to reflect how society in the MCU behaves (and that is really the same as our own, unfortunately). It shows this through the scene with Walker and Lemar, when the (white, because it’s relevant to this conversation) girls approach Walker for autographs and do not even see Lemar. They have no idea who Battlestar is and he and Walker talk about that afterwards. While this is obviously meant to point out a sense of racial injustice, Endgame also points out that it can also just be because some superheroes have more flash and symbolism. While it’s an example of racial inequality on TFATWS, it’s also a funny “no one thinks Ant-Man is cool” thing in Endgame that shows the idea of there being kind of B-tiered superheroes. What does this have to do with Sam not taking up the shield and Bucky?
Sam Wilson, after Endgame, has just come back from being missing for the last five years to find his sister exhausted from a life that has been kicking her ass for ages now and his nephews grown five years without him into the “little men” that they are becoming. Before those five years, he had been on the run with Steve for two of them. He’s not old by any stretch of the imagination but he is *older* now and he’s enough time beyond some of the worst traumas of his life to think about maybe finding one for himself. Learning that Steve went back in time to find some peace with a family, seeing that Tony Stark got that before he died... it puts it on the mind for Sam, even if it was likely already there anyway. He has a fresh start. But there is a difference between being The Falcon and being Captain America and it’s not only the challenges of being the first (known to the public) Black Captain America. Can he do this and have his own life at the same time? Because even if he gets a third of the attention that was given to John Walker, it is way more attention than he’s ever had before. He’s not just going to be a bit famous-- he’s going to become a literal American icon overnight.
What if Sam has decided that he can’t do this because he wants some quiet nights and isn’t sure he can get them if he takes this on? What if he wants to be just a guy sometimes, just a man who helps run a fishing business in Delacroix, Louisiana and wants to watch the sunset with the person he loves, who is not at all what might be in the government’s dream idea of the life of The Star-Spangled Man with a Plan?
What if Sam is thinking about how he might like to see if he can fall in love again sometime in his post-Riley life, with someone who could understand and love him back this time? The hope of that alone might be another reason to turn down the shield, if he thinks he’d rather find a way to be a good husband to a man he loves than be a symbol to a country he loves but that struggles to love him back at times.
Not to mention that he’s not sure America is ready not only for a Black and gay Captain America but one that is in love with a formerly brainwashed, hundred and six year old, PTSD-laden cyborg and he’s not about to risk his and Bucky’s chance at this for a mantle he’s not sure he even feels really should be his to carry. Sam knows about trauma recovery and knows they’re both-- but especially Bucky-- going to need to go slow at this. It’s really hard to try to be there to support the guy you love’s work on dealing with decades of loss of control over his own mind and body-- and that’s without the whole world watching. Sam wants some privacy and autonomy for both of them, not to mention a little of the time that’s been stolen from them for the room to see if they can make this work. That is one of the reasons why he turned down the shield, IMO.

Okay, so far be it from me to say it but some of y’all (here, on other social media, and plenty of reaction channels too) are getting really weird reasons to hate the character of John Walker, like there are plenty of legitimate reasons to hate him but some of y’all keep reaching for the strangest things that make no sense and at worst you’re undermining your own favorite MCU characters to do it
I’ve seen many people immediately condemn Walker for using a gun in Episode 2, and how that makes him “not Captain America”, while seemingly forgetting that both Steve and Sam have used guns before? Like I get that it’s weird seeing Cap using a gun but the gun is not a reason that makes him “bad” or “not Captain America”, by that logic, then neither Sam nor Steve can be Captain America either just because they’ve used weapons, hell Sam operated with dual guns as Falcon in previous movies. Walker’s use of a gun, if anything, is actually very logical, he has no super powers, he’s got no wings like Sam or super strength like Steve or Bucky, so if he’s going into fights, he has to compensate his lack of extra abilities with weaponry. I’m more surprised he doesn’t just carry a grenade launcher with him at all times to be frank about it. And if he didn’t have that gun, Lemar would have died a lot earlier on that truck fight. That gun is supposed to level the playfield which he (and Lemar) enters at a very huge and dangerous disadvantage.
Some people have also highlighted Walker commenting on how he’s stopped a grenade four times using a reinforced helmet as a sign of his true nature of not befitting Captain America, some even so far as to call it a gimmick. But that’s just literally him doing his job? I don’t get it. It’s one thing if we actually saw footage of him jumping on grenades as an act or for PR, but when he answers Bucky’s accusation, he’s just describing something that is a part of his job. He’s a soldier, he’s in active combat all the time, he’s probably run into many grenade jumping situations and he’s trained to do what he does by using a reinforced helmet. And using a reinforced helmet doesn’t mean he’s not brave or self sacrificing, that’s literally again just him doing his job the way he was trained, why wouldn’t you make reinforced helmets that can block a grenade explosion instead of needlessly wasting human lives on it. Hell, we see even how the Wakandans use this “reinforced helmet” tactic when T’Challa uses his suit to absorb the kinetic energy of an explosion to protect everyone else. That’s not a gimmick, it doesn’t make T’Challa any less honorable or brave or self sacrificing. It’s a really strange standard to judge Walker against when it’s a different time, different training, and different technology available.
And then there’s this thing of #NotMyCap, Walker as a character was fighting an uphill battle from day one, before he even spoke a word or even showed what kind of person he is, the judgment was already laid down by majority of fandom to blame the character for something that character isn’t even responsible for. Judging Walker by what he does is totally valid and fair as we reach the later episodes, but he was already “not my Cap” to so many people in their minds simply because he wasn’t Steve or Sam or Bucky or anyone the fans know, that anything Walker did or said would be instinctively compared or looked upon with negative connotations, he had already failed before he even had a chance to start, I mean, just look at the comments from his first introduction, it’s filled with comments mocking his appearance and the numerous versions of “Discount Cap” insults. When you start from a well of negativity, it’s really difficult to believe that the character has been given fair consideration.
Finally, there’s the big debate over Walker’s actions towards Nico, the Flag Smasher he killed. And look, I ain’t okay with what he did either, he shouldn’t have killed Nico in that way and he should have exercised more self control for someone in his power and position. Even if I understand his emotional reasons, I’m not okay with his actions. However, there’s this strange undercurrent in fandom that keeps painting Nico as a sympathetic victim of a evil murderous monster while conveniently forgetting that Nico literally seconds before was restraining Walker so that Karli could kill him. If Lemar had not jumped in, Nico would have succeeded in actively aiding Karli to murder Walker. People talk about how it’s sad that Nico looked up to Captain America and is killed by Cap’s shield but no one mentions that he was trying to kill a Captain America. I’m not saying this makes what Walker did okay, but it’s just very strange that Nico is reframed as this innocent victim of an evil man when he would actually be far better described as a surrendered enemy combatant that Walker should have taken prisoner instead of executed. It just feels like the wall of hate against Walker is so blinding that some people are forgetting the context of the situation. And there’s some people saying “well Walker killed people so that makes him the worst”, okay then what about the other Avengers? What about our other heroes? Some of them have killed people, just because it was never shown in this dramatically intense way with blood doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Hell, Episode 1 literally has a fight where Sam definitely killed people but is it because it wasn’t presented in a dramatically ominous way that makes it okay? Or because it didn’t have blood? Or because it was a clear “bad guy” in battle so it’s fine? Tony Stark in the first Iron Man movie kills numerous “evil terrorists”. Steve killed some folks in his movies too. But we cheer in those moments, feel triumphant even, is that kind of extrajudicial killing okay because it’s in a fight and the people killed were bad? Why weren’t those bad people taken prisoner instead of killed? Do we have one kind of standard for the violence our heroes deal out and then another standard for other characters who aren’t our faves? What makes one kind of violence justifiable and doesn’t taint the legacy of that shield but another kind of violence unjustifiable and taints the legacy? I feel like people are not nearly examining this inherent double standard as much as they should. And I’m not condemning Sam or Steve or Tony or any of the heroes taking out bad guys, but I bring this up to point out to people that if “Walker can’t just kill someone in cold blood and revenge” then why is it that we are okay with when our heroes kill? Is it because they do it not in revenge and cold blood? Is deliberate dispassionate killing somehow more justifiable?
Anyways, again, I’m not saying you can’t criticize or hate John Walker. He is clearly designed to be the anti-hero/antagonist of this story. And there are plenty of legitimate reasons to question the many things this character has done. But some of these specific issues I’ve seen brought up by the fandom is just really strange and at times very hypocritical, ignorant of canon and context, and very reductive of a very interesting and well written and complex character.

Falcon and Winter Soldier Episode 1 and 2 breakdown.
My oh My, Marvel is really giving us some sort of like a reality check in here. They added twists here that our current society are facing to hopefully “probably” teach us about our humanity as an individual.
In Episode 1, the series started out with Sam being on a mission in Tunisian Airspace to save Captain Vassant, who is now help hostage by LAF, there’s no reference to LAF in the comic, but here in MCU – it is describe as a criminal organization who is taking advantage of the commotion of the reverse blip in order to make profit. And here, Batroc makes his appearance once again after his first appearance in Captain America and Winter Soldier. Just a quick fact, Georges Batroc is portrayed by Georges St-Pierre, who not only shares his first name, but St-Pierre is a MMA Champion with a record of 28 matches of 26 wins and 2 losses, *woooot*, no wonder his moves are so fluid.
Moving on, Sam is now in Washington giving his speech as he surrenders Captain America’s shield, in which he believed will be put in the museum in honor and respect for Steve Rogers, but little did her know, there was a conspiracy behind it (which we’ll discuss later). James Rhodes still tried to talk some sense out of him, but Sam’s always reply with “It feels like it belongs to someone else. That someone else is Steve.” But let’s try to pay attention to what Rhodey say’s to him back.
World’s a crazy place right now. People are… Well, nobody’s stable. Allies are now enemies. Alliances are all torn apart. The world’s broken. Everybody is just looking for somebody to fix it.
It makes me think that Rhodey is specifically referring to Wanda when he said nobody is stable, not the people of the world specifically, because when we speak to someone, we know that everyone else are experiencing hardship, but we will always use someone as an example for the conversation, but on this case, they avoided referencing Wanda directly. Also the series takes place “months after the blip”, we don’t have the exact timeline yet, but we do know it takes place after WandaVision (two months earliest) and before Spider-Man Far From Home. So Rhodey receiving a report of Wanda’s actions, and Vision’s revival and Westview rampage is not impossible. The “Allies are now enemies. Alliances are all torn apart.” reference can have double meaning, considering what they did in WandaVision where they made the audience feel there’s more to that statement. But this can be an easter egg to Dr. Strange where they use the same tagged line for the movie prep while the alliances could referring to Avengers itself (though it already is, but they still considered that HQ as their home till Thanos destroyed it), S.H.I.E.L.D (we know this is not the same SHIELD of Nick Fury as he is now in space as hinted in SM:FFH), S.W.O.R.D (with Hayward abusing his authorities), and possibly the Sokovia Accords because of what Wanda and Vision did in Westview. But as I said, because of what Marvel did in WandaVision, in the end , they could probably just dismiss it as some government related stuff.
We now have Barnes who is reliving in his nightmares of the killing. Plate Number 10872 FQ is a reference to Marvel Comics called Introducing the New Captain America and Bucky that was publish in October 1987, where John Walker is now the new Captain America as shown at the end of the episode. Other think I actually like about Bucky’s therapy session was when the doctor asked for his phone, he is using a flip phone, not just any flip phones, looks like a AT&T Cingular Flip 2 (I guess it pays off learning about phones because I used to work for them, ahahaha), and since its year 2023-24 in this timeline, it’s quite fun to see this small detail done so perfectly because AT&T no longer service 2G signals since January 2017 (if I remember it correctly), to give way into 5G services. Anyway, this attention to detail about Bucky using a 4G flip phone is pretty amazing. And how am I guessing this is an AT&T phone? Well, in Infinity War, the phone Steve gave Tony is also another AT&T Flip Phone which I think is a Z223 (a 3G flip phone – not to be confused with Z222 which is a 2G version and both phones look identical). It’s quite funny actually that AT&T, who is the parent company of WarnerMedia (WB who owns DC) is very present here.
Then now we see Sam going back to his family whom he hasn’t visited for quite some time. Here he sees the struggle of his sister, and tried to offer his help. We can probably assume as per his behavior that when they go to the bank, their loan request will be approve because of his affiliations of saving the world and for being the Falcon, but reality check slapped him hard, the guy didn’t even bother listening to their plans and straight out denied their loan application – which was made clear in Episode 2 as to what the problem could actually be.
We now also see Bucky answering the set-up date Yori made for him with the woman name Leah, who works as a waitress at the Japanese Bar/Restaurant called Izzy. As their conversation proceeded, Bucky ran away to find Yori under the pretense of owing him his lunch, when in reality, it was his guilt of killing his son who became witness of his assassination.
Episode 1 ends by introducing the new Captain America, holding the shield Sam surrendered in the museum.
Episode 2 started with John Walker visiting his Alma Mater, Custer’s Grove High School. His full introduction even played Captain America’s theme song only re-arrange to match modern era. During his interview for GMA, he mentions that “I’m not Tony Stark, I’m not Doctor Banner, okay? I don’t have the flashiest gadgets, I don’t have super strength. But what I do have is guts.” Mentioning these lines could probably a way of him to get the sympathy of the people, by saying I’m not Tony Stark is like an indication that he doesn’t have the money, brains (to invent), or Iron Man suit that can make him powerful. By saying he’s not Doctor Banner, who have seven PhD’s and can transform himself into the Hulk, and debatable as the strongest Avenger, he can make almost like an assurance to the people that as an ordinary human, he have the guts to fight to the best of his abilities.
Bucky who is watching the whole interview, have a smirk on his face for disbelief and disappointment that his best friend’s shield is now in the hands of a wanna be. It then cuts to Sam who is also in disbelief that everywhere he go, he is seeing the face an unfamiliar guy wielding the shield that Cap gave him. He got ambushed by Bucky to told him he shouldn’t have surrendered the shield to which Sam replied “No, of course I didn’t know that was gonna happen. You think it didn’t break my heart to see them march him out there and call him the new Captain America?” – which I believe is his wholehearted feeling as he was cheated and betrayed by the government. But let us also pay attention to what Sam said after Bucky told him “This isn’t what Steve want.”
Oh my God. So what do you want me to do? Call America and tell ‘em I change my mind?
It’s easy to assume that the government and him probably had a conversation about becoming the new Captain America, but more than likely he declined, that’s why in Episode 1, Rhodey told him “I see you’re gonna make me ask. Why didn’t you take up the mantle?” Well, it’s probably more complex than his “It feels like it belongs to someone else.” –but we’ll talk about it in a bit.
I find it really funny about Bucky jumping off the plane feeling nervous, yelling even. I think the purpose of the director and writers are doing this is basically to give Bucky the opportunity or making the audiences feel that, even though he was an emotionless, robotic-like assassin, he can change and by including the rules his therapist gave him, can help him gain his humanity back.
1.    Can’t do anything illegal.
2.    Nobody gets hurt.
3.    Unspoken (probably to introduce himself not as the Winter Soldier but Bucky Barnes or just simply smile). Dr Raynor only says that “The whole point of making amends is to fulfill rule number three.”
Also I really just wanna guess who those under 10 contact numbers are. We are sure its Dr. Rayner and Sam, I’m guessing it also has Steve’s old number, I wanna guess T’Challa too, so that’s four of them. Hmmmm, can’t really think of anybody else.
By the way, the SMILING thing. Right now, Bucky’s smiling is so unnatural, but even so, if he keeps on doing it, one day, he can smile naturally. And now we can also see him showing another kind of emotion, NERVOUSNESS – when he was about to jump down the plan. I'm pretty sure if he is his former Winter Soldier, he won’t even feel the slightest nervousness jumping off the plane, let alone landing gracefully, in contrast to here where he landed, let’s admit it, quite shamefully, even Torres will surely agree with me here. Then there's also the AGGRAVATION towards the new Captain America because of the shield. And the most important part of his humanity that’s resurfacing is his GUILT or CONSCIENCE, where his nightmare and Yori’s presence speaks very loudly.
While Bucky is stealthily walking, Sam references him as a White Panther, which is basically him being Caucasian and came back from his like rehabilitation in Wakanda, he has become like opposite of T’Challa’s Black Panther. And now Bucky corrects him by saying his new moniker is now White Wolf, a name that T’Challa bestowed on him (if not referred only).
Now for the action part, we get to witness once more Bucky’s Super Soldier ability by seeing how he outruns the second truck and catch up with the first truck, and these are 14-wheeler trucks (they’re scary in real life ahaha). Anyway, the battle began after the suspected hostage turns out to the head of the group, threw Bucky onto the windshield of the second truck, then pulled up by the other two members on top of the truck and John Walker and Lamar Hoskins joining them after.
I’m pretty sure STACKIE fans out there went nuts with a bit of that fan-service they did, when Falcon dive under the first truck on the way to the second truck to save Bucky, but I think the wings got caught on the ground making Sam loose his balance that’s why they went rollin’ on the yellow flower field – which looks like either chrysanthemum or daisy, which is in flower language, Yellow Daisy means a good friend while Yellow Chrysanthemum can mean neglect of love or sorrow. It actually looks more like daisy, it’s just that the leaves kind of looks like chrysanthemum… I could be wrong, but if it is daisy, then putting a yellow daisy here will be could actually mean that a good friendship is about to start and the chrysanthemum could mean their sorrow stemming from Steve and living up to his expectations.
We now have Bucky and Sam being invited by John and Lamar to ride with them on their jeep stating that it’s about 20miles to the airport and they need a ride. After joining them on the jeep, we now can see finally having a proper conversation. But we can see that Sam actually have to asked them twice about what are they doing there, they have successfully avoided the first time by stating that they checked their location thru Red Wing and on the second time, Lemar responded with “Well, they provide the resources and we keep things stable.” Then John followed it with “Yeah, violent revolutionaries aren’t usually good for anyone’s cause.” –which from my understanding, still doesn’t answer Sam’s question, that why Sam sarcastically responded with “Usually said by the people with the resources.” Then now John offered the two to join them, in which Bucky frankly declined, the Lemar tried to rub salt on their wound by saying their asses were getting kicked till they show up, that starts to tick off Bucky, until he mentions he’s called Battlestar, which pissed Bucky off even further. I’m not really sure why he got pissed after hearing that, but I’m guessing (yes, guessing, meaning I'm not sure) that the reason he got pissed was because Lemar have a hero name, pretty much like Bucky being the Winter Soldier/White Wolf and Sam being the Falcon, and of course Steve being the true Captain America, Bucky probably felt insulted that not only America made a new Captain America, they even gave him a side kick with a hero name.
Bucky got off the jeep first then John apologizing to Sam by saying he’s not Steve and is not trying be like him, but trying to be a Captain America in his own way. Sam left the jeep as well after he felt insulted when John wanted Sam and Bucky, who are Steve’s best friend and partners, to be his wingmen. John clearly have no idea of what their relationship really is and calling them Steve’s wingmen rather than Steve’s friend or partner, but he used wingmen, that John interprets as they are just someone that supports Steve, he’s clearly belittling them, that’s why Sam scoffs and responded with “It’s always that last line.”
We now see the Flagsmashers arriving on a place of one their group’s supporters to get some rest. Their leader Karli received a text message saying “You took what’s mine. I’m going to find you and kill you.” –which I think is a message from John Walker. Because in the comics, John became like a super soldier from Powerbroker, and in here, we can probably theorized that the real reason he is in Munich is to get his hand on the serum but Karli stole it from him before he could get his hands on it.
We now have Sam and Bucky on military plane and Bucky telling Sam that they should take the shield back, in which Sam told they can’t do it just like that cause the last time they did (also in Germany), Sharon – Peggy’s niece who was also a CIA, helped Steve and Sam get their weapons back (shield and wings before the airport battle in Civil War), then they went on hiding until Thanos came, and Bucky was taken in by T’Challa to cure him at Wakanda. Sharon was punished for her actions, and she will be making her appearance any time soon since the ED also have her picture included but her name is not yet present since she hasn’t made any appearance yet.
Bucky brought Sam to Baltimore, MD to meet the Black Super Soldier, Isaiah Bradley. As they walk thru the neighborhood on the way to Isaiah’s house , looks like the show have already hinted what’s about to come in the future. The kid upon being introduced called Sam the Black Falcon, instead of just simply the Falcon. Sam played with the kid by asking him “Is it because I’m black and I'm the Falcon?” and the kid confusedly replied with “Well, technically, I mean, yes.” Then Sam playfully responded with “So are you, like, Black kid?” and they started laughing it off. But if you look at it from a different perspective, it is kind of like the premonition, because within their conversation, it can only be done by them, because if a white person actually say that phrase? I’m pretty sure, that laugh in the end will not be present. There’s more to it but I’ll discuss it after.
Sam and Bucky arrived at Isaiah’s house, and Bucky introduced him to Sam by saying “He was a hero. One of the ones that HYDRA feared the most, like Steve.” As their conversation proceeded, Isaiah explained that others like him that were sent in Goyang never came back, so the military sent him to deal with Bucky and he won that battle. But instead of being celebrated as a hero, the military or government decided to brand him and put him in jail for 30 years. I’m not gonna use his comic s counterpart since MCU have their own story retelling. But as I mentioned before, it’s a premonition.
Then Bucky and Sam left the house and Sam feeling a bit frustrated due to disbelief that other than Bucky and Steve, there’s another Super Soldier still alive for decades. Then here comes a bit of reality check in America. A patrolling police catches them having an argument. Soon after, the police asked for Sam’s ID but didn’t asked for Bucky’s but instead asked Bucky if this man is bothering him. Now this is actually quite a very, very good reality check and I applaud the Malcolm Spellman and Kari Skogland for putting this kind of a wakeup call here. These scene or event is very powerful and it mirrors the reality of the black community experiencing the racial profiling from the police brutality in America. We can also see the house behind Sam that says STOP THE VIOLENCE, then on board beside it reads words like, HEAL THE SICK, STOP KILLING, PLANT A SEED, LOVE, TRUST. It was not until Bucky dropped the hint by saying “Do you know who this is?” and one of the police recognizing them as the Avengers and the police stared at Sam for bit and realized its Sam Wilson aka the Falcon and started apologizing by saying he didn’t recognized him since he isn’t wearing his goggles. With the police instead of just letting it go, still tried to look for a loophole, but sadly the loophole is not with Sam, but with Bucky, who missed his therapy session because of going with Sam on Munich then to Baltimore.
We now see Bucky being released thru John Walker’s authority and Dr. Raynor summoning both of them for a therapy session. The scene started out quite funny but later on, it hit hard again. Dr. Raynor asked Bucky why Sam aggravates him.
Bucky: Why did you gave up that shield?
Sam: Why are you making such a big deal out of something that has nothing to do with you?
Bucky: Steve believed in you. He trusted you. He gave you that shield for a reason. That shield, that is… that is everything he stood for. That is his legacy. He gave you that shield, and you threw it away like it was nothing.
Sam: Shut up.
Bucky: … So maybe he was wrong about you. And if he was wrong about you, then he was wrong about me.
Sam: You finished?
Bucky: Yeah.
Sam: All right, good. Maybe this is something you or Steve will never understand. But can you accept that I did what I thought was right?
We can now also see that before Bucky leaves, it dropped yet another hint of what’s about to happen by asking his doctor, “What was rule number two again?” which is more likely will be broken and even Dr Raynor acknowledges that it will.
I’ll skip John Walker scene, and now we have Karli loadingthe plane with their Super Soldier serum supply. When a member of Flagsmashers stay behind to delay the Power Broker’s, one of Power Broker’s men who is seen wearing a bullet proof vest was seen talking over the phone saying “They got away.” whom I think he’s reporting to John Walker.
Now let jump back with Sam and Bucky. Sam asked Bucky what he’s thinking, Bucky responded with “When Isaiah said my people”… Sam understood that when he said “my people” – meaning white people that’s why Sam said “Oh, don’t take it to heart. That’s not what he meant.” To which Bucky corrected him saying “No, he meant HYDRA. HYDRA used to be my people.” And now they are off to see Zemo and now we see Zemo inside his cell.
Pheewwwwww, that’s a long post… ahahaha, see you on the next one, still working with Snyder Cut but im still considering of I should post it or not, after all, so many groups out there already made a video and article out it…but we’ll see…
