#snk chapter 139

Is it possible that Levi felt like he was made a fool/clown by Erwin? Especially because, upon reflection, Zack didn't even need to be killed by Levi, as he surrendered. Thinking of Levi as a jester hurts me, but it seems real.
Not possible. For one, Zeke did in fact need to be killed since his life was powering Eren's Attack Titan. Zeke surrendered to Levi, but that didn't negate that Levi needed to kill him nor his satisfaction in doing so.
Tumblr media
The idea of Levi being made to feel foolish by Erwin is so completely at odds with everything I know about the story, and Levi and Erwin's relationship. I think his moment of peace at the end, speaks volumes. He finished the mission. He made their sacrifices worth it. He made them proud. In fact, he only character I recall who ever made Levi feel foolish was Eren. In chapter 112 he reflected on the number of times he saved Eren, only to be betrayed by him. He called believing in Eren a joke and farce.

Thanks for the ask! I hope this answers your question.

Another great analysis of the final chapter of AoT.  The more I think about the ending of AoT, the more I actually really like it.  I liked it the first time I read it, and then I let people’s opinions start to negatively influence my view of it, until I started to again really look at and analyze it, and realize it didn’t have nearly as many issues as some people were claiming.  I think this video does a fantastic job of really breaking down just how much sense the ending makes, and how it truly aligns with all of the themes and ideas presented in the story.  Definitely worth a watch!

To confess, I’m not great at drawing eren.
Despite the amount of times I had drawn him, I still don’t fully get him. It could be that I’m too dumb or too much of a casual fan for deep analysis, but AOT has failed to conclude his character for me.
To me Eren is a deeply traumatized individual who failed to mature. He’s a self-righteous man child. But there’s also some ancient evil yadayada messing with his head that isayama couldn’t clear up it up for me, so at this point I still don’t know why eren committed rumbling.
Interestingly, this shows in my art HAHA.
Most of my eremin art is seen from armin’s POV, eren remains either a mystery or partially seen. Eren from Armin’s POV works better in my drawings bc he’s an incomplete character, a huge mystery even, he makes no sense to me sometimes, but above all he’s a symbol of doom and rage.
(“POV” is rather vague in illustrations esp when a lot of them can be objective. To me POV applies when the drawing leans toward one character’s bias, feelings, and how they see things.)
Here’s an example of Eren from Armin’s POV:

Altho one thing I understand for sure is his relationship with armin, the way he idolizes and adores him, putting him on the pedestrian (and doom him in the process)
My Eren’s POV art:

So, I took the time to watch the Attack on Titan finale today.....
Tumblr media
I don't know why, because everyone keeps saying that the anime ending was a huge step up from the manga's ending. Jeez, has it really been three years since that dropped the ball?
So I decided I needed to see for myself what it really changed, I had the time so I forced myself through it, to see what exactly the big deal all was; mostly what was different, and what it did that was so far removed from the comic.
Well I gotta admit, I was surprised by what I saw.
The animation was really impressive, much better than what I've seen of MAPPA's handiwork from the rest of this season. The whole thing just kept going bigger and bigger, and it just never seemed to slow down. It's definitely one of the most impressive battles of the series, especially when so much focus on fighting and ending the Titans seemed to be lost after so long. Plus I forgot how stunning MAPPA's backgrounds can be, almost like WIT's. I guess that's what you call "peak" in the anime circle now, huh?
Tumblr media
Levi......What can I say, he's an absolute badass, and the battle was worth it just to see him plow through Eren's army of Titans in all of his glory. Nothing can slow this guy down, and he definitely earned his ending. Sure he lost everyone who was near and dear to him but at least he can finally get some measure of peace. A much better finish than what the manga gave us, in its own weird way.
Was surprisingly touching to see the fallen Scouts again btw. Should have had Marco somewhere for Jean's sake, but maybe they can finally move on to a better place, wherever that may be.
Tumblr media
Well the Armin and Eren scene pulled no punches, did it? XD Bad puns aside, I was surprised at how emotionally charged that scene was, Eren seemed really sorry for everything. At least he finally owned up to it in the end. Such a shame he was left with so little choice in the end.
Tumblr media
And really, I realized how hard I was on Mikasa. She knew the life she thought she and Eren could have was beyond all hope, and in the end she made the right choice, agonizing as it was. In the end Mikasa really was too good for Eren, theirs is a love that was tragically cut short by circumstance. He couldn't help it, she couldn't help it.......Eremika truly is an unsung Shakespearean tragedy.
Oh don't you worry Eren, I'm sure she was thinking of you well beyond ten years. Who could fault her? We all know you meant well....
Tumblr media
So........now everyone's saying it took two thousand years if not more for this to happen, huh? Well I guess that sort of makes up for it.....At least nobody we knew and loved lived to see it, right? I guess we can stop blaming Eren for whatever brought this upon Paradis, right?
Tumblr media
Well, whatever the case may be, after finally seeing it I can say the anime ending makes up for a lot of what the manga left hanging. Great animation, such raw emotions, the insane music.......It was a long slog, but I'm glad I was proven wrong about everything I have said since the manga ending came out. This really helped to tie everything together much better, made the loss of such a wondrous cast a little easier to swallow. In the end, they gave their hearts, and in the end, it's much better to feeling something than to feel nothing.
So kudos to Studio MAPPA, and kudos to Hajime Isayama, truly I underestimated you. I feel like seeing this animated opened my eyes to so much of what I thought was missing. Suddenly things are so much clearer. Now.......Now I understand.......Eren only did what had to be done. Well played Mr. Isayama, well played.
And with that, I just want to leave with a quick shoutout to the true GOAT of Attack on Titan..........
Tumblr media

And that's the LEAST of what you deserve, you cunt rag.
That title belongs to THIS girl, right here.

As if there were any force between heaven and earth in this world or the next that could EVER make me forget.....
Oh, one more thing........

Why is Reiner the only person from the warriors who gets treated so badly by everyone. Annie’s and Pieck’s crimes get completely overlooked and he gets beaten up again. Also why do they keep focusing on Marco but not Bertoldt or Ymir?

"Eren... what a man you are..." hmm... makes you think Reiner and Eren did at least a little more than talk in their final paths meet up😉 soulmates don't just talk, after all...
Anon, I snorted. Thank you! Unfortunately "Eren... what a man you are..." was the fan translation. The english tankobon renders the text this way:
Tumblr media
"Eren, you really are a..." leaves it more or less up to us to fill in the blank there.
Thank for the ask and the laugh!

Your Strongest Soldier | Levi Ackerman x You | Chapter XIII
Tumblr media
“Please don’t go.”
Levi’s words hang in the air for what feels like an eternity as you process what he just said. Since you are no longer acting as Levi’s nurse, he is correct that your professional obligations toward him have ended.
You had been so ashamed of yourself that you immediately decided to remove yourself from the placement. Sure, you still committed a professional misstep, but Levi does have a point: you don’t HAVE to leave. Staying won’t make anything worse.
The last few hours have been such an emotional roller coaster that part of you still feels like you may be misunderstanding Levi. Just to confirm, you ask, “Do you mean it?”
The man stares down at the floor for a long moment, his color rising and his knuckles turning white with the tightness of the fists he is making. At last, Levi responds, “Of course I mean it… unless you WANT to go. If you do, then I won’t stop you —”
“No, I don’t want that!” you answer quickly, taking a step towards him. “Levi, I… I don’t want to leave.”
Levi looks up at you then, and you meet his gaze. As if on cue, the afternoon sun bursts forth from behind the clouds, filling the parlor with a bright wash of light, and a sudden thought pops into your mind.
“I have an idea,” you say.
Levi watches as Y/N steps outside and shuts the townhouse’s front door behind her. What the hell? Levi thinks to himself, not sure what Y/N is doing.
Before he can pursue that thought further, though, Levi hears a knock. Thoroughly confused now, he gets up from his seat in the parlor, goes to the door, and opens it.
There on the stoop stands Y/N. Her eyes look tired, her hair is a mess, and her shirtfront is still covered in dried blood — but the smile on her face is brilliant like sunlight glittering on the sea. That smile eclipses all other aspects of her bedraggled appearance, capturing Levi’s attention like nothing ever has.
“Why don’t we start over one more time, you and I?” Y/N says.
It’s nearly the same thing she said on the first day they met. “Let’s not get off on the wrong foot, sir,” she had said that day in the garden, after Levi tried to convince her to leave him alone. He was always so guarded, so afraid to show any weakness. So reluctant to rely on anyone, much less a stranger like Y/N — he had thought then that it would be best if they parted ways.
Thank God she hadn’t listened. [continued in AO3]

this may sound petty but what made me hate ch139 was the fact that King Shitz was called Karl Fritz and I saw someone point that out and all hell went loose

I’m excited when the date has been posted for SNK’s final final final episode but the trauma of SNK’s manga chapter 139 is taking me back to the chaos where all LeviMika shippers had experienced. The heartbreak, the pain, the threats…but hey guess what? We’re the no. 1 only ship who’s characters are fucking alive
