[II. HETEROTOPIAS - cont'd]
[B. Heterotopology: systematic description of the mythic or real contestation of the space in which we live - cont'd]
[4. Fourth principle. Heterotopias are most often linked to slices in time. A sort of absolute break with their traditional time - cont'd]
b. Opposite these heterotopias that are linked to the accumulation of time, there are those linked, on the contrary,
to time in its most flowing, transitory, precarious aspect
to time in the mode of the festival
These heterotopias oriented
not toward the eternal
but they are rather absolutely temporal [chroniques]
Such, for example, are the fairgrounds, these marvelous empty sites on the outskirts of cities that teem once or twice a year with
stands
displays
heteroclite objects: wrestlers, snakewomen, fortune-tellers, and so forth

I learned about nagas from Dungeons & Dragons way back in the early 1980s. My way of creating a more unique looking one was to give her two heads. Such a figure wasn’t difficult to create although the detail may have brought out a little more in her. Never rush during polymer clay sculpture. Always take your time and take a break if you get tired. The figure will still be there waiting for you when you’re ready. #orcs #naga #naggana #thequestforkimeldrago #polymerclayfantasyfigures #art #clay #polymerclayart #fantasy #swordandsorcery #swordandsorceryart #mythology #mythicalcreatures #hydra #snakewomen #medusa #monster https://www.instagram.com/p/B4JGRn4l8zm/?igshid=14p5nklkr5l1l

Anonymous asked: 💬 + "Try not to get involved with that one. Heard he's a sloppy excuse of a lieutenant, fathering some hellspawn with one of them snakewomen but who can blame him? I heard they are beasts in bed..."
Send 💬 + a rumor and my muse will react to it.{Accepting}

🕷 Gossip and lip-service that’s all the soldiers knew. Now if only they could shoot as well as they flapped their lips about nothing what so ever. Krattz tried to take his tray of food from the cafeteria to his office without being seen. It was to bad that hearing things on his way out wasn’t possible. This is why he didn’t stick around, things had gone so well for years.
Till Layla’s bounty poster got it’s update and people started asking questions. He didn’t know who dug up the information but they found out about the ‘orphan rogue’ somehow. Many had to go off just how much they looked the same causing him to think about shaving his whole head. Not that it would work.
As for the shit they spoke about the Kuja and Lily. They were lovely ladies indeed, brutal as they were beautiful. He had to admit that Layla took a lot after her mother in that aspect which caused him grief when priates started barking up the wrong tree for her. Reacting to this wasn’t going to go well if he responded.

“Sounds like you guys are scared of getting your dick broke...or worse , you’re really to ‘small’ for those ‘monster’ women.” He gave them a smirk from around the corner before just walking off. Buch of losers that lot.  🕷

Xcom 2 has a lot of problems with it but it also sets up a world in which mankind can feasibly live alongside alien snakewomen so at the end of the day it’s good.

XVI - Medusa Seriously, why the day has only 24 hours and week only 7 days?! Sorry, that I went to silent all this week, not so far ago I started work on one project with awesome people, and all my time I spend working on it and my kids and family. It's really sad that I had to skipped some #creatuanary days. • #creatuanary2020 #creatuanarychallenge #medusart #creatuanaryday16 #medusa #medusahead #snakehead #snakeart #medusatattoo #dibujo #artdrawing #creaturedesign #art_spotlight #onedayonecreature #drawingpencil #pencilart #instainspiration #bluepencil #bluepencilsketch #snakewomen #animaldrawing #creatureart #boceto #sketching #artinspiration #instaartist #drawthisinyourstyle #dtiys #drawthisinyourstylechallenge https://www.instagram.com/p/B7eR2o4D_xJ/?igshid=s323i5zvk4la

It is alright to host for Naga, though it is not wise for things with skin to identify as snakewomen.

Michael Foucault - Of Other Spaces
Fourth principle. Heterotopias are most often linked to slices in time—which is to say that they open onto what might be termed, for the sake of symmetry, heterochronies. The heterotopia begins to function at full capacity when men arrive at a sort of absolute break with their traditional time. This situation shows us that the cemetery is indeed a highly heterotopic place since, for the individual, the cemetery begins with this strange heterochrony, the loss of life, and with this quasi-eternity in which her permanent lot is dissolution and disappearance.
From a general standpoint, in a society like ours heterotopias and heterochronies are structured and distributed in a relatively complex fashion. First of all, there are heterotopias of indefinitely accumulating time, for example museums and libraries, Museums and libraries have become heterotopias in which time never stops building up and topping its own summit, whereas in the seventeenth century, even at the end of the century, museums and libraries were the expression of an individual choice. By contrast, the idea of accumulating everything, of establishing a sort of general archive, the will to enclose in one place all times, all epochs, all forms, all tastes, the idea of constituting a place of all times that is itself outside of time and inaccessible to its ravages, the project of organizing in this way a sort of perpetual and indefinite accumulation of time in an immobile place, this whole idea belongs to our modernity. The museum and the library are heterotopias that are proper to western culture of the nineteenth century.
Opposite these heterotopias that are linked to the accumulation of time, there are those linked, on the contrary, to time in its most flowing, transitory, precarious aspect, to time in the mode of the festival. These heterotopias are not oriented toward the eternal, they are rather absolutely temporal [chroniques]. Such, for example, are the fairgrounds, these’ marvelous empty sites on the outskirts of cities that teem once or twice a year with stands, displays, heteroclite objects, wrestlers, snakewomen, fortune-tellers, and so forth. Quite recently, a new kind of temporal heterotopia has been invented: vacation villages, such as those Polynesian villages that offer a compact three weeks of primitive and eternal nudity to the inhabitants of the cities. You see, moreover, that through the two forms of heterotopias that come together here, the heterotopia of the festival and that of the eternity of accumulating time, the huts of Djerba are in a sense relatives of libraries and museums, for the rediscovery of Polynesian life abolishes time; yet the experience is just as much the rediscovery of time, it is as if the entire history of humanity
