like i kinda get now why my parents scold me for being an excessively accommodating person. it's because they're a doctor and a nurse and even though they are both super edgelords they are also incredibly giving people. so i would get confused on why i would get scolded for also being giving and generous thinking "my parents would never turn down someone in need of help" so why am i basically in trouble for volunteering?

IT'S BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE JUST TAKE AND TAKE AND NEVER TURN DOWN AN OFFER and if I ever had kids i would also probably warn them against being taken advantage of and teach them to set limits and boundaries. tho like. i would be better about it than my parents who's general approach to me is like weirdly shaming and confrontational because emotional intelligence wasn't invented yet in the 50s

"Is it hot in here or is it just me?~"

Hero's irritation was almost tangible. "Villain, the building's literally on fire."

"Yet," Villain said casually as they fanned their face, "it still doesn't compare to me."

Hero's eye twiched.

They grabbed Villain's cape- which looked far too flammable- and tossed it aside before the urge to toss Villain themself became too strong.

Their foe gasped, utterly betrayed.

"Okay," they said after a calming breath. "What are your powers?"

But all Villain did was cross their arms. Hero waited, but apparently Villain thought it a good idea to be childish while the place went up in flames.

Hero nearly forgot about the danger, and had to bite the inside of their cheek to keep themself from cursing. "I could always just leave you behind—"

Villain gasped. Again.

Wonderful.

"Aren't you supposed to be a Hero?"

Heroes only have so much patience, they thought, but said "Yes."

"Well then act like one! Besides, you can't just walk out!"

Hero nearly clawed their own face off because yes, they could, and they should.

Hero was fireproof, they really could just walk right out. The only reason they hadn't was Villain, because despite their foolish tendency to think that nothing could harm them, fire very much could.

Villain would die if Hero didn't save them.

Besides, even if the opposite wasn't true, Hero had heard of them; The criminal acted like an arrogant, dramatic child but was somehow never able to be contained.

Hero had had the displeasure of watching them on TV; they always relied on gadgets they made-and bragged about- to win the fight. But the heroes knew Villain had a power, they must have.

But they had to admit, meeting them in person was a whole different experience, it just didn't compare. Having them there, up close, and hearing their useless (but begrudgingly funny) commentary about the most random things...

Hero honestly didn't know whether to kick them or laugh.

They took another breath instead. "Look."

Villain met their eyes, forcing back a cough as the smoke thickened and thickened.

"If we want to get out of here, we are going to need a plan." Hero was right in front of them now, and Villain flinched.

It was almost as if...

As if Hero was scarier than the danger they were in.

Hero narrowed their eyes.

"Why are you...?" their brows furrowed, but then it clicked. "Villain."

The criminal looked away.

"Villain."

"What?!"

"Can you leave?"

Villain opened and closed their mouth aimlessly.

"N-no!" They said, but it sounded too much like a question. Hero was going to kill them if the fire didn't do it first.

A slight blush rose to Villain's cheeks, but before Hero could process it, Villain started coughing.

"Villain, what is your power?" Hero insisted, squeezing their shoulders.

"Tele—" a hard cough, "teleportation."

Hero stared. It made sense; that was why Villain wasn't scared, when they had every right to be, and why they kept slythering out of any means of containment. What didn't make sense, however, was this:

"Then why the fuck are you still here?"

Villain's expression turned from guarded to guilty.

"I-i can only teleport myself, I can't-get us both out—" they got their sleeve over their nose, trying and failing to breathe.

Something a lot like panic jumped up to Hero's throat and they grabbed Villain's shoulders tighter.

"Villain leave! The fire won't hurt me."

They didn't buy it. "Is this some kind of hero thing..." but they trailed off just when Hero stuck their hand in the fire;

It was no different than air would have been.

Villain's wide eyes met theirs. In them was hesitancy, and something far too vulnerable, but Villain was gone before Hero could explain it.

For a disorienting moment all Hero could do was stare at nothing, before they shook their head and started walking.

They managed to get out of the building with nothing but a few scars, after having checked for civilians. It was late, and the building had seemed empty, but Hero wasn't going to risk it.

Still, they couldn't get what had happened out of their head. Villain didn't leave because they said it was impossible to get both of them out.

Hero leaned against a wall, knees suddenly weak.

Villain had told them what their power was, despite hiding it from the public for months. But they told Hero. They told them because Villain didn't think they would survive.

Villain had stayed for them.

As their heart flipped in confusion and their eyes met the stars they wondered something else too:

Had Villain been so difficult and bratty on purpose? Had they attempted to keep Hero's focus on them instead of the dangerous situation they were in? Worst of it all was, had Hero trully been in danger, it would have worked. They would have no time to panic when they were so exasperated...or when they were holding back laughs.

But maybe Hero was seeing only what they wanted to see.

They made their way towards their house slowly, trying to ignore the foolish hope blooming in their chest; there was no way Villain would show up again, and Hero shouldn't have wanted them to.

Thing was, Villain could have easily been working with Supervillain, despite Hero's silly heart insisting that they didn't. It would have been simple; Supervillain sets the building on fire and Villain stays and stalls, up until the roof finally collapses. And then they leave without as much as a scratch.

Truth be told, Hero's abilities only went so far, and several solid, hard pounds of cement dropping on them wasn't exactly something they could just walk away from.

The criminals would have won.

Some things still didn't make sense. If that was the plan then why would Villain leave before their part was done? And why bother mentioning their powers at all?

Hero huffed, getting their hand through their messy, dusty hair. They reached for their doorknob- and stilled.

Sticking out remarkably was a note. Hero took it off the door and were surprised when they didn't need a signature to know who it was from.

Even the brat's handwriting was over the top. Hero smirked.

They were getting their answers after all.

I just watched the dragon prince and omg its literally one of my favourite shows right now. I cant wait for season 4!! Can’t wait to see Callum becoming maybe one of the strongest human mage in all the lands. I mean he had no knowledge of his magical ability and merely mimicked what he saw Claudia doing once. Like maybe face off Claudia ( i mean eventually they’re gonna have to) and she uses her dark magic against him and his primal magic.

I loved Soren’s arc though i found it unsurprising that he’s the one that sided with the princes and not Claudia. I saw someone said that they thought Claudia would be with the princes. But like if you think about it, he’s a crown guard and i feel like because of that he’s got a pretty clear sense of right or wrong. It would also be clear that though he’s loves his father, I think he’d have this loyalty and a strong sense of to the king which extends to the princes. Like yeah he did try to kill Ezran but once he was paralysed he was almost relieved that he never got to complete his mission. He’s an man of honour and would never want to kill someone innocent; even Rayla who appeared to be defenceless and was asleep because it didn’t feel right despite elves being his enemy.

Also I think when Claudia and Soren was arrested, Claudia was insistent on their innocence while Soren had accepted his fate because he still felt guilty. When they confronted their father about Soren’s secret mission and how he twisted his words to make Claudia side with him and make Soren look like a fool I think that had hurt him. Later, when they reached Xadia and his father had volunteered him to be his test subject and despite him confessing that he’s scared, he saw that he never cared for Soren at least not anymore and it strengthened his resolve to leave.

Also damn Claudia is what I think Slyther-Claw villain would be like she strives off of knowledge and doing what it takes to get them. Also she’s got her own niche/specialty (dark magic) and she’s incredibly loyal to her loved ones. And I worry that she might kill Soren in the future because you know even though it was only an illusion, it’s also her test on him; to see if would kill their father and when he did she saw that Soren was no family. Just another enemy that needs to be crushed.

Also just thinking about how horrific it must’ve been for Soren later because I mean after he did it and realised what he’d done, he was completely heartbroken. He killed his own father was the only thing in his head and no matter how evil his father was I’m sure he hoped he could be rehabilitated.

This is my new favourite show.

best quality: His perseverance! I’ve always admired how Kurt is constantly getting given shitty hands but he refuses to stop playing the game. He puts so much effort into everything he does, it’s sad it so often doesn’t get rewarded 😔.

worst quality: I think Kurt sometimes builds up idealised versions of people in his head and has a tendency to act offended when they don’t end up being the person he thought they were (e.g. Finn in s1, Blaine in s2 specifically around 2x14). Also the glee-typical Biphobia.

ship them with: multiship with a few guys including Sam, Artie, Elliott, Puck, Mike etc, but endgame Blaine.

brotp them with: Mercedes, ofcourse. Also Santana, Quinn, Rachel when I’m in the mood, Blaine, Finn and pretty much any of the NDs guys cause I just wish they were closer in canon! Oh and also I love his dynamics with Sue and Isabelle Wright.

needs to stay away from: Sebastian needs to stay away from him thank u very much! But also Carmen Tibedeux (sp?) cause she clearly just has no taste??

misc. thoughts: 

Quick rant warning! I think people are way too quick to label Kurt as ‘bad queer rep’ because he’s a “stereotypical gay” who likes things like showtunes and Beyoncé, but by doing this they’re purposely ignoring two major things.

1- In the beginning the show was literally satirising these stereotypes, Kurt isn’t the only stereotypical one there. Finn’s the ‘dumb jock’, Quinn’s the ‘bitchy head cheerleader’ with Santana and Britt as her two ‘minions’ etc. The glee writers were purposefully exaggerating these stereotypes for comedy.

2- KURT LITERALLY ISN’T JUST HIS STEREOTYPE. Much like the other characters who get hyped up for growth, his character becomes more than a joke, arguably by the fourth damn episode! Kurt’s character has literally so much going on that I think makes him great queer rep, including not dying (apparently it’s a hard bar to cross for a lot of writers, keeping their queer characters alive.) and having a genuinely happy ending as a successful man in a loving relationship with his husband and with a baby on the way. It’s stupid to reduce him to just another gay character that likes theatre and fashion, when he’s got so much more to offer and when there’s literally nothing wrong with that anyway cause some gay guys really do just like that stuff and you should just let them live their lives??

Hot take on Percy’s House

Percy Jackson is not a Slytherin — I can understand how people think so, but here’s my take. It’s absolutely not in his nature to be ambitious, cunning, or a “leader.” He’s thrust into situations he really doesn’t want to be in and is forced to adapt in order to protect those he cares about. Every action he takes is to ensure his friends are safe — he’s never chased after the spotlight; he never strived for relentless power. He’s dependable, very caring towards those in his life, and absolutely genuine. He’s inherently noble yet self critical, he accepts his flaws and never tries to hide behind an aura of perfection. Yes, he’s used manipulation to his advantage, but only in the spar of the moment, and only to safeguard the people he loves. I’m quite sure any of us would. He’s not a methodical planner in how he deals with conflict. Just because he has the ability to champion Slytherin traits doesn’t mean he is one. I read something (I always feel bad not being able to give credit, does anyone know that original post?) that was like “your house is your principles, not necessarily what you embody.” Percy literally just wants to be a normal dude.

He’s absolutely a Gryffinpuff — Brave & Impulsive, yet Compassionate & Determined.

Now Annabeth on the other hand — PURE Slytherclaw and that’s why she’s the baddest B in the series.

I enjoy poetry a lot, actually. Reason for URL: It used to be the URL for my DBH sideblog (long since deleted), but then I was like “fuck being thecheshirecat11, I wanna remind everyone that androids probably wouldn’t conform to typical gender standards on MAIN” (although there does need to be a discussion about how much of nb (and autistic!) rep is hidden behind robots and aliens, but also that’s not gonna stop me from loving my android siblings)

I’ve more or less stuck with it ever since. I did a brief stint as patricia-thornton and another one as gremlily (both urls I have saved to this day lmao), and I’ve considered changing to either thedeathcures (my favourite saved url) or something magisterium related, but nonbinary-androids has staying power that other urls simply do not. That and my icon are like my signature at this point lmao

We’ll start with our queens

Katharine would be either a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff and would be a confusing person to sort, but I think in the end she would be a Ravenclaw

It is canon that she likes to hide out in the library and that she did actually work her ass off to be a good poisoner and throughout the series she constantly tries to solve her problems with careful consideration.

Mirabella is a Hufflepuff and a half. Not even a question.

She is a keeper (haha you see what I did there) on the quidditch team and she can be a little competitive but she mostly just tries to win for all her friends on her team. 

She works so hard to protect the people she loves and will claw the eyes out of anyone who fucks with her squad, which is quintessential honey badger Hufflepuff.

Arsinoe, the queen of half a brain cell, is quite obviously a Gryffindor.

She is so brave but can be so stupid sometimes. 100% plays quidditch, is a beater because she likes hitting things which is honestly fair.

Somehow succeeded in seducing a Ravenclaw. One of her top achievements (get it?), if she does say so herself.

And providing the second half of the brain cell, is fellow Gryffindor Jules Milone

Also a beater, because dream team, has taken more than one hit to the leg which has caused some damage but “who needs both legs to fly amiright?”

In an even more amazing feat, succeeding in seducing a Slytherin, which as a Gryffindor, comes with significant bragging rights because we love some house rivalry.

Emilia is a Slytherin. Is like a fantale, hard on the outside, soft on the inside (bad analogy considering I have ripped teeth out with fantales but oh well)

Is a chaser and has knocked many a keeper nearly off their brooms with the force with which she throws.

Makes out with her girlfriend in shady parts of dungeons and wherever it will gross out Arsinoe because she has to keep some of the rivalry alive

Billy was also a Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw toss up, but also ended up being a Ravenclaw.

Is honestly so tired all the time bc he has to use his intellect to deal with thing 1 and thing 2 shenanigans and has yet to learn to stop asking how they ended up in said shenanigans.

Rides a broom but doesn’t play quidditch, it’s more of a catharsis thing which works so well for some reason (fun fact; the reason is actually locker room makeout sessions with Gryff girlfriend) 

Pietyr is unquestionably a Slytherin

Arrons are like Blacks. Generations upon generations of Slytherins. Plays as a seeker on the quidditch team.

Proudest achievement is using the pickup line “can I slyther-in to your chamber of secrets?” on Kat and it working. A messy bitch who lives for drama and we are all 100% into it.

Joseph is the Filch of this headcanon. Squib bitch.

Elizabeth is a Hufflepuff while Bree Westwood is a Gryffindor

Mathilde is a Ravenclaw (the Luna Lovegood if you would)

Luke Gillespie (who needs more love in my opinion) is a Hufflepuff

Some random thoughts:

I know the marauders were four people but consider this, I don’t care bc Arsinoe, Jules, Kat, Mira and Emilia make a marauders map that is so detailed cause they’re from all different houses.

Emilia is good at defence against the dark arts, Jules is good at defence, herbology and care of magical creatures, Mira is good at charms and transfiguration, Kat is a jack of all trades, master of none, Billy and Luke love care of magical creatures but both adopt random muggle chickens that got on the grounds somehow. Arsinoe and Pietyr have been battling it out for six years for 1st in Potions (right now, Arsinoe is winning)

Billy fell in love with Arsinoe because he caught her sneaking around the restricted section at midnight, wearing glasses she normally charms away. They immediately got into a hushed argument about not being allowed to be there. They also immediately got detention for being out past curfew like idiots.

Emilia fell in love with Jules because Jules was willing to argue with her about what the  best broom was in the middle of diagon alley. She sill hadn’t given up by the first game of the season. They graduate and she still hasn’t given up lol.

Pietyr fell in love with Kat bc she could answer every single question a professor asks, but she does it so quietly that he can only tell bc he sits next to her. It’s cute, according to him.

Arsinoe and Jules currently have bragging rights because Gryffindor took home the quidditch cup this year. Pietyr and Emilia are joining together to scheme how to take it back but have to be weary to do it fairly or Mira will have their heads.
