I really wanted to push the boundaries of what is acceptable as a Bug pokemon. Buerbeiro is that pokemon, a frog displaying the multiple legs that indicate it's infected with Ribeiroia worms. This gave me the perfect idea of a froggy version of the demon Buer, and the two ideas ended up a match made in heaven... or frog hell. Toxidrum is an older design and almost became a split evo for a previous fake of mine, but I shelved it before bringing it back here. It's another pokemon that will be receiving a mega. Buerbeiro are a frogs body, malformed and piloted by a colony of parasitic worms. By rotating like a wheel they are capable of great speed, scattering poison and spreading their members into the environment at a far greater rate than they ever could alone. Toxidrum are amorphous pokemon with a solid steel shell. Their bodies are comprised of a highly radioactive element which makes them dangerous to even be around, their presence corrupting the environment. Luckily they don't like to move far from their colonies, grouping together as they hide in their shells. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

The Oldest House — A Worm through Time (I, Voidhanger)

“Objects of Power,” the opening track of A Worm through Time, is about as trve to the traditions of doom metal as a tune can get. The Oldest House (solo project of one A.M., who plays in Spanish black metal outfits Aversio Humanitatis and Velo Misere) relies nearly exclusively on the power of the riff and the resonance of overdriven amplifier cabinets. The signature riff of “Objects of Power” gets repeated with monomaniacal insistence for about four minutes, at which point the song picks up into a mid-tempo trot, like a crew of medieval mercenaries hauling a battering ram toward a besieged castle’s gate. Oldest house? More like oldest maneuvers in metal — not that such well-worn antics are necessarily cliché, or moribund in ways that doom metal cannot render engaging. As one of the oldest songs in the form has shown us, ponderously moving, metal-bound men can be great fun.

Generally speaking, A Worm through Time evinces little interest in great fun, at least superficially. The project primarily works the space in which doom overlaps with sludge — which has been among the most productive spaces in doom, if one is interested in music that seeks to move the subgenre forward. Some of the influences might be a little too emphatically obvious: the first two minutes of “The Oldest House” sound a lot like Primitive Man clearing their throats, and when the EP moves away from the sludgy slurry, some other textures creep in. The title track summons Electric Wizard when that band’s smoked-out thunder achieves a truculent edge. None of those tones is a bad thing, and it should be recalled that A Worm through Time is an initial offering from the Oldest House. Some working through anxiety of influence is to be expected.

So one wonders about the project’s band name. Doom is certainly the oldest house in heavy metal — with many wings and rooms, and more than a few dungeon spaces and tombs. It’s also the most hidebound subgenre in the metal pantheon, music that has a hard time plotting a pathway forward (you can make an argument that the black metal traditionalists are noisier about their allegiance to “old ways,” but there is so much adventurous and formally interesting black metal currently being made). Does the Oldest House have any interest in trying to tell us something new, or is the project content with working the same old blueprints and creating the same old edifices? Time may tell. In the interim, this is an entertaining 25 minutes of music to play, at excessive volumes. Shake the foundations that you can, I say.

i hate that -for some reason- i don't like taking care of myself. I probably don't drink enough water. I don't like eating vegetables i never go for walks or excercise. I don't like sleeping or napping unless im actually tired or downright exhausted. I don't talk to my friends enough. My room is a mess and i always put off doing laundry. I never feel like cooking or cleaning anything. I feel like if i lived by myself i would just slowly wither away into dust or something.
