"Steph, come on, we're gonna be late for YOUR team's party if you don't hurry up."

The defender had spent the better part of an hour in the bathroom, and now you were both running late to a party that Steph had asked you to come to.

At this point, the pair of you had been together for about seven months, having moved in without much communication to her team aside from Caitlin, who you'd spent time with together on several occasions.

So it took until now for you to actually be able to meet them in person.

You both head out to the car, grabbing your keys along the way. Steph is quick to open your door for you before jumping in the drivers side.

"Ever the gentlewoman." You give her a teasing smirk, and she smiles, pecking you on the lips before starting the car and backing out of the driveway, her hand resting on your thigh for most of the drive.

The moment you walk in, there's cheering from the girls as Steph finally makes an appearance.

"Ayyy Stephyyy, she's in finally, and who's this with her?" It's Katie who yells out first.

Steph just laughs, shaking her head.

"Alright, alright, alright. Everyone, this is Y/n, we've been together seven months. Play nice, nobody scare her away."

You chuckle softly at the brunette leaving a kiss on her cheek as you're quickly dragged away by Beth and Katie.

Caitlin slaps an arm around Steph and drags her over to sit with Viv, Manu, Frida, and Lia. Much to Steph's protests at being separated from you.

In the kitchen, you're being bombarded with questions from Katie. Occasionally, Beth intervenes and tells her to calm a bit before handing you a drink.

You're definitely a little nervous, but once the alcohol is flowing through you, Katie's not so intimidating anymore.

You spend some time just downing drinks as a mini contest with the irish girl, and you can tell straight away that the alcohol you're both consuming is probably not a healthy amount.

About two hours later, the three of you have been laughing at stories you've been sharing, and at one point, there's tears leaking from your eyes, you're laughing so hard.

There's a knock at the door about twenty minutes after that, and Katie is suddenly dragging you to the door with her, practically jumping with excitement.

"Ooh, ooh, I know who that is. It's Leah, you're gonna love her, she's a party girl like me. Blonde and tall and definitely a terrifying captain when she wants, but absolutely let's it rip at parties."

Something clicks in your head, and you go to respond before she rips open the door.

Leah raises a brow at you questioningly. A playful look of hurt crosses her features.

"What haven't you been telling me?"

" I know you've been busy with your injury, and I didn't wanna dump it on you suddenly. But I kind of maybe am possibly dating one of your teammates..?"

Leah raises both brows now.

"Sorry, what? When did that happen? I know I was injured, but jeez, sis, why not tell me sooner? Who is it? I want to know."

"What so you can fight them? Hell no."

She leaves a sloppy kiss on your cheek, and you shove her lightly.

Steph watches this happen from the couch, and she has to bite back a growl coming from her throat.

Caitlin can see the look on her friend's face and has to hide a knowing smirk. Steph was pretty good with you, but possessive was a trait she picked up quickly, especially with you.

You were kind of oblivious to it, though, making the hilarity of the situation that much better.

Steph can see you laughing with the blonde, and she spots you leaning on the taller girl's shoulder.

It's about five minutes of that before she snaps.

She watches you kiss Leah on the cheek and give her a wink.

That's the last straw for Steph in the other room. She couldn't watch handsy mccaptain continue, and you clearly weren't even fighting it. The fact that you were participating was worse. What is going on with you?

She grabs you by the hand to drag you outside. Leaving behind a bewildered Leah, a hysterically laughing Katie and a knowingly smirking Beth and Caitlin.

Leah just turns to the others.

"I-what? Is it Steph?"

Beth just nods with a small "I probably wouldn't go and ask them now though."

Back in the car, you're completely bewildered by Steph and her actions.

Jose Gallard

A brown jacket with a pocket on each side and gold buttons over a white shirt, black pants, and deep red shoes. He no longer sports his standard hat.

Fiona Demetria

Unoa Freak 1, 2 and 3 [Review]

Summary

The Unoa Freak series is specifically written to celebrate and discuss Unoa dolls. Created in 2003 by Gentaro Araki, founder of Alchemic Labo, they were one of the first BJD available on the market. They are not as popular as they once were but Unoa dolls come in many common sizes, making these books a great resource to this day. The books also contain tutorials on face-ups, manicures, modding, stringing and more.

These books have been created with so much love and creativity, from the beautifully illustrated covers, to the fashion editorial style spreads for the patterns. They are one of my favourites to take off the shelf just to flick through the pages.

The number of patterns varies by book and each one has been created by different artists, so do take a look at the tables below before purchasing.

Minimal instructions for the patterns, sometimes just a couple of drawings

The patterns in the book don��t work for every size of Unoa doll, usually each pattern is designed for a particular body sculpt (cries in Unoa Zero)

My copy of UF2 had a few pages come loose from the binding - not sure if it's a common problem but something to keep in mind

Final thoughts

I don’t think I would recommend these as pattern books for beginners, as the patterns are sized so specifically and the instructions are quite minimal, but if you are an experienced sewer I think you will enjoy the variety of styles here. My main reason for recommending these books wouldn't be the patterns though - it's the peek into BJD history that make them special. I think they are a great addition to any bookshelf.

The Sixties Jumpsuit: Simplicity 9792

Jumpsuits seem to mesmerize women. So simple! So easy! And yet, so silly! You will, sooner or later, drop the top into a toilet, a fact I learned after making several shorts rompers in tropical rayon prints during my college years. Despite their silliness, there seems no getting around their appeal, so let's talk about this one.

This is an Easy-to-Sew from the 1960s, now re-issued in modern sizing. Even though it was easy to sew, made up of only 2 main pattern pieces, it does have a centered zipper running down the front which is not something we usually see in today's easy patterns. But for the 1960s, it was indeed simple as it is sleeveless and has patch pockets. Women's had worn various kind of jumpsuits for dirty work for decades, think gardening, factory work, painting, etc, and beach pajamas were sometimes one-piece garments with wide-legged pants which showed up on women in the 1930s. Pants became popular for all kinds of public wear during the late 1960s, partly to get away from the difficulty of moving without embarrassment that came with mini-skirts. This jumpsuit is clearly for play wear, or resort wear.

Notice, it is fitted, there is no blousing at the waistline, so you do need to check on whether you are long-waisted or short-waisted before you cut the pattern. There isn't any room for an error, as there is no waistline seam to allow for adjustments.

They recommend cottons, including heavy ones like canvas, denim. and corduroy, but also lightweights one like pique and poplin, plus double-knits, and linens. Which is a wide range of fabric. The problem is you have both a top and a bottom, and usually we wear different weights of fabric for each of those. Bottom weight fabric have to take the strain of your largest muscles in motion, while blouse-weight fabrics rarely have to deal with much strain. So I would recommend a mid-weight woven with some Lycra in it. This would split the difference in fabric weights, and give you a bit of easy movement as well.

@singofus asked: Dusa made Meg go downstairs or somewhere else when she got dressed today, for a few reasons. The first just being she had a special Valentine's Day outfit planned and she wanted to descend the stairs to her like it was prom! So she did. She wore a bubblegum pink below-knee tartan a-line skirt, a white collared blouse with a pink sleeveless sweater vest over the top. In her red curls was a dusty rose pink satin sleep eye mask. Used both as a hint to her fiancée and because Hypnos had seen her sleep eye mask style ones and was so excited they matched. So now she matched her friend too. The white, ankle-high socks and t-bar pink shoes just brought the outfit altogether as she smiled down at Meg. "What do you think? I was maybe gonna iron a red heart onto the sweater but I thought that'd be too much." (For southern gothic)

meg had a small inkling of why she was all but banished from their wing as dusa got ready , but she didn't put up too much of a fight . it benefited both of them when she gave dusa her space , of course ; and it proved that she did trust in the safety of this estate . so she's waiting at the bottom of the stairs in her own mid-tone cool blue cropped sweater, her high waisted black denim jeans with sunflowers on the back pockets , and thick soled boots to give her an extra inch of height .

when dusa comes to the top of the stairs , megaera looks up , golden eyes growing dark as she watches her approach . cat-like , focused on her with absolute warm intensity . as she draws closer , the satin eye mask almost draws a groan from her , imagining that color in other places on her body .

she steps closer , looking up at her , reaching up to put a hand on her waist . ❛ you look adorable , baby , ❜ she murmurs , dark gold eyes looking into sweetheart ruby . ❛ an absolute delight , so pretty . i have more than half a mind to keep you here for the day . ❜

My Dark Academia Magical Girl desings

Magic School uniform:

-So the school uniform would be comprised from:

-A light under chemise with reglementation panties (cotton, old fashioned and with the waist at the natural waist) or pair of combinations. Many might choose to wear a corded corset to have a better silhouette and when the weather gets cold. This one wouldn't be school themed per say, and some students might wear their personal underthings instead.

-According to dress code, stockings must be black, grey, brown, kaki, beige or white. Shoes must be black, but any style would do.

-Girls are free (and encouraged) to wear a washable petticoat or shorts if they want to.

-So, the uniform itself would be comprised for girls of: a white blouse, blouse, a bellow-the-knee skirt of tweed and a waist coat of the same material. The school uniform also has an apron, to protect the clothes from more dirty tasks, and younger students are encouraged to wear it most of the time (kids are messy and adventurous). Boys would have a similar uniform, exept the waist coat would be straighter and the skirt is replaced with mid-calve shorts. There waist coat would have the school symbol on them, same for the aprons.

Casual form:

-So, MC-chan, her name might be Cordelia. Inside her dorms, she'd wear sturdy cotton canvas pants that are dark greige in color, with a cream-colored supportive tank top, a very worn buttoned shirt for men that is dark grey (with the dye somewhat dilluted and discolored) with a faint cross pattern, with a cropped oversized light purple home-knitted sweater. It would be her beginner project, so, it'll be quite messy and crudely knitted, nothign special, but be very warm. On warmer days, the pants could be replaced with her old denim shorts (made out of a pair of jeans that would otherwise be way too ripped and the knees) that she typically wears underneath her school uniform. With her school uniform, she'd wear Mary-Jane shoes and opt for some denim shorts ending near her mid-thighs beneath her skirt. Her clothing style would always cover her chest, because of that birth-mark with the special special stone is. Whenever she doesn't have gym, she would accessorize with faux-feather earrings that are also purple, that are a somewhat dustier shade. I think her natural hair color would either be red or black, but she'd wrap some strands in embroidery thread, most often some shade of purple or blue with pinkish undertones.

-So, Drow girl, her name would be Rodoeé ("pink eyed" or "most beautiful", but goes to school as Liïa ("rain"), would wear on casual day a long shift of thristle and nettle cloth and pantalettes of the same material, and would wear them beneath her uniform. Would wear her school uniform even in casual setting, since she would not know of high elven styles of dress or even own any of them. Would however wear green-tinted glasses whenever she cannot deal with the metomorphosis drops for her eyes, and she'd wear them even indoors. Her clothes and uniform would be fittely, as she's a child, and one unused to wearing a lot of clothes (underdark has limited supply of clothing material). Her shoes would be made of fish leather, quite narrow, and not covering the top nor the sides of her feet. Her hair would usually be kept in a low pony-tail.

-Crazy masochist would be the most. Her name would be Rozenn. Colorful of the bunch. She'd wear inside her dorm a simple white blouse with a short, pink sleeveless sarafan, and a oversized, thick and fluffy gradiant multicolored pastel cardigan with cute buttons. Her favorite stocking would be white-thighies with some cabblewire patterns. Around her neck would be a lacy collar. Beneath her uniform, she'd prefer a pair of combinations, quite lacy ones at that. She'd usually wear her side-hair braided, while the rest is loose.

-So, the super sweet mermaid girl would be called Leucosia. Her mermaid nature would rapidly exclude bifrocated garments, and inside her dorm, she'd wear a light, unpadded linen crop-top or a loosely croched-one and a macrome skirt. She'd wear her unifrom blouse and vest open so that her gills are more comfortable, and her long hair on proud display, loosely braided so it doesn't get caught in her wheel-chair. Would gladely circulate in her dormatory nude, but the school wouldn't allow it. Because of how mermaid skin work, she would find the uniform unbearably hot, and would not wear any corset for sure, prefering beneath her crop top and a short petticoat. She eventually gets a special permission after nearly fainting of heatstroke to not wear much in class unless it's a school photo. Her hairstyle is a -Cleopatra bob with neerly waist-long side burns.

-I think the headmistress' granddaughter would be called Agnes. I think inside her dorm she'd wear a well-ironed pastel house dress, of course yellow, and with an apron. Her hair would most likely be styled in a bun with a custard yellow ribbon. She'd wear her uniform with a pair of combination, corset and petticoat, itself quite well-ironed. Her shoes would be Oxford shoes.

-All these girls share a dorm, and Leucosia sleeps in a cave connected to the sea and protected from predators by a grid and a safety handcuff.

Balan Wonderworld Outfits: Chapter 12

Here are the outfits of Chapter 12! Now, this Chapter was a bit more tricky than Chapter 9. But, I decided to give them some casual outfits that they could be seen wearing while walking in the area where Bruce lives.

Leo Craig

A red leather jacket over a white shirt, a black belt with a gold buckle, dark blue denim pants, and black high-top shoes with white shoelaces. He has a pair of dark blue headphones around his neck.

Emma Cole

A red long-sleeved coat that is opened with curving collars over a white long-sleeved ruffled shirt, a green slightly pleated skirt with a white laced hem on it, black stockings, and magenta shoes with pink details and white straps. She also wears powder blue hair ties in her hair.
