#sleeping beauty maleficent
I’ve always wanted a Maleficient doll as she one my favorite villians but I am SO glad I did not pay retail for her! I can deal with the cheapy satin but cheapy satin that is not hemmed and just glued together?! Ergh. I’m confused by the cape, she didn’t have one right? Just had really full drapey sleeves I think. Also this doll is pretty much new and there are two spot that are already fraying away from the seams-one on the bodice and one in back. Sigh. She’s going to need new clothes...

Kronk: Oh, I’m sorry- are you okay?
Maleficent: Hm? Yeah, I’m fine. It wasn’t my relationship..

Do you realize Cruella’s mother was probably a villain. Generally it’s only Disney villains who fall to their deaths. Such as, Gaston, Clayton, Scar, Frollo, Maleficent, Hades, the Evil Queen, and Cruella herself.
The dalamations did everyone a favor by saving them from Cruella’s mother.

Age of fairy tales, a wild age.
In the "fairy tales age", the world was complete and full of light, which was believed to come from Kingdom Hearts , which was protected by its counterpart, the sword χ . Over time, people came to desire the power of Kingdom Hearts, introducing darkness into the world.
This is the general definition without going into depth that we have of the fairy tales age in Kingdom Hearts.
However for me when the fairy tales age was first mentioned I always thought it meant that this is when the original fairy tales happened and that after the darkness consumed the world is when the worlds were recreated, separated and became the Disney version.
To explain my point I will take the Sleeping Beauty Story as an example.
The Disney version of Sleeping Beauty (the first one) was born with the film Sleeping Beauty in 1959.
Originally, however, Sleeping Beauty was a story that was passed on orally.
Its first mention in written text was apparently in the Perceforest, an anonymous French literary text composed around 1340 in prose, but its mention of the tale of Sleeping Beauty is very brief.
So let's focus on this other mention in text that showed her whole tale.
The Pentameron a collection of different fairy tales, whose original title is Lo cunto de li cunti overo lo trattenemiento de peccerille (The tale of tales, or the entertainment of the little ones).
This collection of 5 books was written by Giambattista Basile and published postumously between 1634 and 1636.
In the Pentameron the tale of the sleeping beauty was called Sun, Moon and Talia (Talia was the name of the sleeping beauty and Sun and Moon the names of her children born from a rape committed by a king who is married to another woman).
This story is the basis for the following versions known as the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty (Perrault's version in 1697 and the Brothers Grimm in 1812).
Of course Kingdom Hearts would never show something like this(but I like to imagine that the age of fairy times was like this.) And since Khux is over and it doesn't look like they are going to delve into what was going on in the world outside of Daybreak Town and the keyblade war I like to think that maybe Daybreak Town is a paradise compared to the danger that is out there.
Maybe all the characters in Daybreak Town are fairy tale characters who ran away or something. Maybe those who rule over Greece in the time of the fairy tales age are the Titans and not the Olympian gods.
Or maybe Daybreak Town is home to the protagonists of the Snow Queen fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1844. They went from being children to adults very quickly after his story.
Something I would like to mention is that in the novelisation of the Maleficent film it is mentioned that she is the daughter of Lysander and Hermia who are characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream a comedy by William Shakespeare, written around 1595. That gives a lot of inspiration for future fanfics.
What I want to go for is that the fairy tales age would be a world inhabited not only by humans but also full of fairies or mythological beings (Titania and Overon, the titan Kronos or Jotunns).
I know this post is a bit crazy but I mean it when I say that I thought the Age of Fairy Tales consisted of something like this and I plan to use this when I start writing my littleVentus fanfic!

Anyone else feel like Cruella is getting an unnecessary amount of hate? Like yeah the dogs pushing the mom off a cliff was ridiculous (and the whole thing is an installment in the live action cash grabs), but overall it wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. Heck, some parts may have been, dare I say, GOOD! It’s no perfect film, but I feel like if people weren’t harping on its flaws so much it might be one of those films that becomes a cult classic down the line. Idk, I just loved the energy it carried (though I agree a backstory on the puppy murderer wasn’t needed). That said, making Pongo and Perdita litter mates was a little...oof

the narrative role villains play is heartbreaking. you have fictional people purposefully built to fail and die and mirror the worst depths of humanity and yet written so that you still consider them human and wonder 'but what if-'. it's terrifying.

Favorite thing about them?: Yeah I kinda like her I guess ;) NO BUT REALLY. She is my favorite fictional character EVER. I love her SO much and think she's so interesting and great. From Eleanor Audley's incredible voice work to Marc Davis's magnificent animation to the fantastic writing that is unmatched in all of Disneydom, Maleficent is IT. She is perfect, and she is the single fictional character who has most impacted my life.
Least favorite thing about them?: Nothing. If anyone says there's anything to dislike about her, they're wrong and I will fight them. The only thing that I don't like about her is the awful Angelina Jolie movie, but that doesn't affect the classic Maleficent. She's too good for that shit.
Do I like their movie?: Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie of all time too. Sorry not sorry.
Do I like their design/outfit(s)?: Favorite character design of all time. I LOVE her outfit. I love how she's animated. I love her dragon form. I just love it ALL.
Do I like their song (if they have one)?: No song aside from her singing during Mix and Mingle at Disney World, and that was fun enough. She doesn't need a song though.
What do I think of their minion(s)?: Diablo is criminally underrated. That raven is so sassy and fun, and he complements her design PERFECTLY!
Which trait of their personality do I most see in myself?: My tendency to hold grudges over the pettiest shit. I will hold onto and stew on things, and it's not pretty when I start breathing fire either. Respect is very important to us both, and we don't put up with bullshit.
How would I rate their hero?: Aurora's one of my favorite princesses, Phillip's one of my dreamiest princes, and Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather are three of my favorite all time heroes. Great all around!
Where do they rank on my top favorite villains?: NUMBER ONE BABEY! She's the queen, undefeated! Best villain EVER :D

Forbidden Mountain Raven Diablo
My pet... you are my last hope. Circle far and wide... search for a maid of sixteen with hair of sunshine gold and lips red as the rose. Go, and do not fail me.
Maleficent ordering Diablo to find Princess Aurora.
Diablo is Maleficent's pet raven and the secondary antagonist in Disney's 1959 animated feature film, Sleeping Beauty.
"Sotheby's Guide: Antiques and Their Prices Worldwide, Volume 5" published in 1989 (as "1990 EDITION") page 171 "A Walt Disney celluloid from 'Sleeping Beauty', 1959, the multi-sheet celluloid depicting Diablo the raven perched on the arm of Maleficent's throne, applied to a master watercolour background,
Tiny beast , unaligned
Armor Class 12
Hit Points 1 (1d4 - 1)
Speed 10 ft., fly 50 ft.
Skills Perception +3
Senses Passive Perception 13
Challenge 0 (10 XP)
Proficiency Bonus +2
Mimicry. The raven can mimic simple sounds it has heard, such as a person whispering, a baby crying, or an animal chittering. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 10 Wisdom (Insight) check.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.
So you see, the story is not as quiet as you were told...
(So I was just like drawing around and then this happened. Reblogs are very much appreciated :) do not repost.)

Kikimoras’ goin’ full Maleficent rn?
After watching the season 2 trailer for The Owl House, there was one question that was plaguing my mind. What was the hand dragon (aka. Dragand) that appeared in the trailer. What it just a monster, an abomination, or even a curse. But upon closer inspection, I also remembered that Belo’s right hand Kikimora was taking a more prominent role this season and came to an alarming theory. Kikimora is the Dragand!
At first, it might be hard to believe, as Kiki is small, soft, and otherwise cute appearance while the Dragand is literal nightmare fuel. But we have to remember not make assumptions, as Kiki’s is fully capable of performing powerful spells and is viciously loyal to Belos. The two also have similarities in facial features, their eyes look exactly the same (Dragand’s pupils’ are slit but that’s probably just the transformation). The also have two clawed cranial hands, Kiki’s resembling hair while the Dragand’s entire is comprised of said hands (the palatte being swapped with the nails).
The second biggest leading bit of evidence is in the trailer itself. Throughout we see what appears to be Luz being held captive on an airship trying to escape, as well as the split second moment of the Dragand. The shot zooms out as the beast presents itself in all it’s grotesque glory, with its’ head hands forming the shape of a face. This might be shot just as Kiki finished her transformation into the Dragand.
I won’t call this 100% fact, but the connection is very clear. And as we’ve seen, monstrous transformations are common place on the Boiling Isles.
