AN APPRECIATION POST

so... 2020 wasn’t the greatest year but despite that, i’ve made some of the greatest friends i could ever ask for. i want to thank you all for reaching out (or accepting my lame attempts of reaching out to you), for sticking around, and for making the year have some joy to it.

it was a silent night, the moonlight cascaded on the both of them with the sound of crickets just outside. their limbs were entangled, his arms wrapped around her torso with her back flush against his chest. he was breathing lightly behind her, his every breath awaking alarms in her ears. however, she could tell he wasn’t asleep just yet. she turned her head slightly, and his eyes fluttered open to meet hers.

“can’t sleep.” he muttered out, with a slur and lopsided smile.

“i know.”

she shifted her body, that way her whole body was now facing him. she rested her hands on his chest, and he let out a quiet hum.

“darling?”

she looked up at him, the moonlight reflecting in her eyes.

“sing to me?”

she let out a soft huff and a playful smile adorned her face.

“okay, as long as you promise to go to sleep.”

“i promise.”

this time, he became the little spoon (voluntarily) and rested his head on her chest. her hands found their way to his hair, and she softly played with it while beginning to quietly sing to her lover in the dead of night.

“so this is love,” her voice carried out, while he let out a snort and a large grin was plastered on his face.

“cinderella?” he asked playfully, looking up into her eyes with an adoring gaze. she lightly hit his arm and feigned a hurt expression.

“would you rather i sing under the sea?”

he shook his head rather playfully, his hand slithered up to cup her cheek.

“then close your eyes and sleep, my love.” she acted as if she was scolding him, and his hand retreated as he nodded obediently. his eyes closed once again, ready to be sung asleep.

“so this is love, mmm

so this is love

so this is what makes life divine

im all aglow, mmm

and now i know

the key to all heaven is mine,”

she could tell he was now slowly dozing off into dreamland, from the way his breathing had slowed down and his arms had loosened up around her. she kept her fingers in his hair, twirling around strands and massaging his scalp.

“my heart has wings, mmm

and i can fly

i’ll touch every star in the sky

so this is the miracle

that i’ve been dreaming of

mmm, mmm

so this is love.”

and the night went on, as they slept peacefully in each other’s arms, listening to each other’s breathing. one thing he knows for certain, her voice will forever be his escape.

▪️What it’s all about: The plan for this writer appreciation is to interview the writer get to know them (i wont be asking hard questions lol) like what are their inspirations, what they like most about writing etc. (That comes after I read what they have written.) I’ll talk about their stories and what I personally love about them. And all around appreciate the writer for their work.

▪️Why I wanted to do this: I wanted to do a meaningful thing for the wonderful writers I’ve met and come across on this hell site and to encourage others to read more of what they have to offer. Writers are a big part of why we love the fandoms we are in so taking the time to appreciate them is what I want to do.

▪️How I’m going to do this: I’m starting off with 6 writers and I’ll be posting one appreciation every week. I’ll ask the writer if can talk to them about writing etc. and go from there.

Disclaimer: I won’t be taking recs from people for writers that’ll just become hectic and I don’t want to disappoint people if I don’t look into writers who have been recommended (i be busy loves). So I’m sticking to the lists I create.
