Robin knew things had changed for him personally over the course of a year, but when he came back to his home planet and his hometown, it almost felt like nothing was different.  He was still the same kid longing to leave.  Whenever he visited his parents’ home, it was only going to exacerbate that feeling.  He wanted to get out and spend some time in town and do some shopping, and he was more or less content on doing that on his own, when he spotted his older brother.  “Sky!”  Robin waved both of his arms over his head, even though his brother could probably see him just fine.  “Are you busy?  Do you want to come with me to stock up on stuff?”  ‘Stuff’ meant primarily green tangerine candy, but there were other nostalgic things here too that couldn’t be picked up anywhere else.  Plus, he was ready to go to a store that felt familiar.   Where he could rely on things being there.

Samira had essentially gotten crumbs from Laurie regarding Reg - however, the most important detail the Umbra had provided was that the older Djayyar mentioned being from Kor'Sel'Koo. That was significantly better than nothing. As for Indy, well, hopefully Skylar would have some information she could use. She made her way to the engineering room, where she assumed Skylar would be. And she assumed correctly.

"Hello Skylar," she greeted. "Are you free? I was hoping you could help me with a little project I'm working on." She had thought over how she was going to go about this, since she didn't want to cause him and then in turn Ali any panic for something she wasn't completely sure about yet.

"Do you think we chose the right mission?" Daphne asked Skylar casually, offering up one of the very plain pretzels that she was eating at the moment. It had been a while since she had eaten a full meal, and she wanted to at least make it through another hour before dinner. Sometimes when you were a pirate captain, you ate at all the wrong times, and had to keep from eating dinner in the middle of the afternoon. "Not in the sense that this isn't fun... I mean... You are having fun, I hope. I mostly mean that whatever mission we do next might not make people as happy to be here. It's not all fun and games and rollercoasters."

Ali had been waiting until they reached Kyoto so he could show Skylar around. Japan was one of his favorite countries he lived in, and Kyoto was considered the culture capitol of Japan, so it was the perfect place for the crew to visit. The next stop was Wife & Husband, a wife and husband owned coffee shop with lots of little collectibles he thought his husband might like to see. He noticed that Skylar seemed a little quiet today though, which was surprising when they were out exploring, something he usually got really energetic about. "Hey, are you feeling okay?” He asked as they approached the café. “We can skip this and go back and rest if you’re tired.”

“I’m finally starting to see why you didn’t sleep,” she joked as she sat at her desk. It wasn’t as bad for her, since she moved a little faster than a human so she got things done a bit quicker. Still, it was a lot of work now that she was fully in charge of electro-technical, even for an Umbra. She knew there were things she didn’t have to do right away, but the excitement of the promotion made her want to do as many things as possible. “It’s a little tempting to keep going even if there are things I don’t need to do right away.”

Blue spotted Sky at his desk in between leaving to work on various tasks, and with the other engineers away on other assignments.  This was probably the ideal time to talk to him, then.  They shook the nerves from their hands and approached his desk, pulling up a chair.  “Hey, Skylar,” Blue said.  “Could I talk to you about something for a sec?  Actually...it might be longer than a second.”

The fact that the ship had went to Marloken instead of straight to Kraysha meant that Ali and Skylar were still conflicted on what to do with Karmel. Which Beck understood. She had been happy just to be anywhere else, since the waystation had gotten a little stale. Still, she was curious what the pair was thinking. It was easy to guess, after that day with HJ, but Karmel being on the ship still meant it wasn’t a concrete no yet. She certainly wasn’t complaining - she liked Marloken and Halen’Kor. She spotted Sky and gave him a small wave. “G’day, Sky Guy! Got any plans before we take off with that vinyl? Maybe some tanning at the beach? You look like you could use a bit of sun,” she teased.

It definitely wasn’t Ryder’s first time seeing Legally Blonde, but it was always fun to re-watch, especially when it was on the large, theatre screen. They still couldn’t believe the palace had a full on movie theatre, but they really shouldn’t be surprised by anything on Molfaun anymore. He practically ran from a room screaming the other day, because of a jump scare with a cryptid from a urban myth and horror game. It was nice to spend the day with Skylar. They haven’t really had the chance to hang out lately. Ryder still had this sense of guilt whenever he was with Robin and Skylar, like he was pulling them away from someone they really wanted to be with, but he tried his best to ignore it and just enjoy the day.

Once they left the theatre, Ryder threw away his empty bag of popcorn and ran their fingers through their recently dyed hair. Once they saw those red roots growing in, they decided they just didn’t feel like looking like their mum right now, so they settled on black instead. Harder to see the red. “Museum time?” He asked Skylar with a small smile. “I have no idea what they have in there, but I bet it’s interesting.”

date: July 26, evening location: Floor 5: Lounge and spa

After a long afternoon of skating with Blue, Salem hurt in places he didn’t know was possible to hurt. He was glad that the palace had a spa that was available to guests because he could really use a trip to the sauna and maybe a dip in the jacuzzi. It was relatively affordable, and he was glad the attendant didn’t make a lot of small talk as they gave him a quick tour of the place before they left him alone. He stripped down and left his clothes in the locker, taking the complimentary towel and wrapping it around his waist as he put on a pair of guest slippers. He made his way to the sauna and was glad to find it empty as he scooped up some water and put it on the coals before sitting down on one of the benches and closing his eyes.

It seemed like the most basic, stereotypical thing to do in Venice was ride the gondolas…so how could they not.  Robin invited his most swimmingest brother, and the two set off for the narrow canals of the city, boarded a boat with a limited English speaker gondolier who made up for this in songs, and spent forty minutes taking pictures of everything.  And in Robin’s case-forty minutes of also wishing he’d brought a thicker jacket.

When the gondola docked, signaling the end of their little journey, Robin stepped off first with a little bit of difficulty, an intrusive thought occurring that it would be a little too easy to accidentally fall in.  He shook this thought away and offered a hand to Sky.  “How do you feel about a coffee from a cafe?”  Robin asked, definitely needing something to warm up the old bones.  Well, 24-year-old bones.

Daphne could talk over this with Ali. She really could. She probably should have, but instead she was here to talk to Skylar again. While Daphne had already gone over the salient points of what happened with the group, she wanted to make sure that one of her longest-term crew members was doing all right after... everything that happened in that cave.

“Hey, Sky. I’ve got a break between talks with two different media distributors today- what a joy- and was wondering if you wanted to have a chat? Check up on how you’re doing? How I’m doing too, if we’re honest.” She could talk to Muffy, and she had, done that. It still helped to gently open up to someone that she knew might have a different perspective.

Ali was supposed to be doing research for Karmel, but it was hard to focus on the task at hand when he was still very much in newly-wed mode, and he had his gorgeous husband next to him right now. Music played softly from Henry’s record player, and Robin’s quilt was draped over their laps as Ali’s notebook laid mostly neglected at his side. “I’m psyched to go back to Kyoto,” he said as he played with Skylar’s fingers. “I’m going to show you so much food you’ll explode.”

“Hey, could I uh... ask you something?” Laurie liked to think that after being on this ship for a few months, and working with Sky directly for a good chunk of that time, that they were close enough for her to ask this question. She’d never had a friend to ask dating advice for, and truthfully she had been hesitating for quite some time leading up to this moment. But Stella and her were in this “dating” situation for a bit now, so maybe... now was a good time to start asking questions. And at the moment, Sky and Ali were the only people in a of stable relationship.

“Typically when people... date... is there usually a set time bracket until moving on to the next... level?” What the hell was this, a dating simulator? She really had no other point of reference. She’d done the physical stuff without the dating before and now she was dating while keeping the physical stuff to the barest minimum. Which she did not mind at all. It was just a little confusing on her end about what was the appropriate way for things to naturally progress. “Or, uh, how would you know when things are serious?”
