Ok but like, the skittles starting to call each other pet names in their fourth year as a joke after the marauders come up with the whole moony,wormtail, pad foot and prongs but the more they do it the less of a joke it becomes and soon they all have their own specific pet name that the other four call them and they answer to them just as much as they do their actual names.

Everyone at Hogwarts thinks they’re dating but can never actually figure out who the couples are and eventually people come to the conclusion that they’re just one big couple of 5. But then when they start actually dating other people like James and Marlene and Lily people get even more confused.

Their partners are equally confused about the pet names as well, especially when they try and refer to them using the pet name their friends assigned them and they get told off for it.

Like Reg just stares James down after he calls him sweetheart for the first time because the only people he’ll except calling him sweetheart are his friends and no one else like boy is instantly annoyed by anyone else calling him that except for Barty, Evan, Pandora and Dorcas

Pandora just tells Lily to try again when she attempts to get her attention by calling Dora honey because that’s what the skittles call her when trying to calm her down or ask what the fuck she’s doing without trying to sound judgy

And Dorcas gets all grossed out when Marlene calls her baby for the first time because that’s what the boys (and Dora) have called her for years now and they’re basically her siblings so her girlfriend using it is just weird. She’s ok with Marlene calling her babe though

I don’t know if this makes any sense but hey ho :)

okay peepaw thoughts bc that happened to me recently (fuck off im 25) but them wanting to eat some childhood candies again and taking like. a handful of gushers/jolly ranchers/sourpatch kids and immediately CRINGING at the too sweet taste and being so upset that their bodies are essentially rejecting the sugary sweets so vehemently they get tummy aches. they are inconsolable for an hour before returning like okay im normal again.
