The Beauty of Flowers

Shadow x reader

Shadow never thought much about love or soulmates but when he saw you he felt as if the earth stopped , now that sounds cliche but he always thought Iove at first sight didn’t mean anything or well he use to but after his failed advances with his manger and finding out she had a boyfriend all along and he was left heart broken, he thought it was just a waste of time. However when you first walked into the shop he couldn't take his eyes off of you.

You looked around carefully examining every flower and leaning down to sniff them every so often, you looked so at peace and happy and that's what got him. He liked working at the shop and most days men would come in hurriedly looking around to fine flowers for their girlfriends or wives never thinking much of it and others would come in to look for an appealing looking bouquet and at first glance would assume "well that's good enough". It was rare to find anyone who liked flowers and looked with detail and found happiness with such beautiful simple things. So it was only natural for him to look a little longer at you.

You ended up choosing a beautiful mixed bouquet and made your way up to the counter to pay, and let me tell you shadow thought you had the sweetest voice, he felt kinda nervous and ended up acting awkward but you just kept up with the nice polite conversation and told him to have a good day and went on your way.

Shadow wanted to kick himself for not maybe asking you more about yourself and maybe trying to get your number as there was a good chance he probably wouldn’t see you again. Or so he thought. About a week later and there you were again happy as can be and looking through the flowers, this time he made sure to talk with you some more and ask you about flowers and which were your favorites. Bad news was you got a call and had to leave so he didn't get to try and pull out the moves and flirt some more.

However the good news was you came back a few day later this time not looking as happy. Shadow immediately wanted to ask if you were alright and offer maybe a hug or a shoulder to cry on, but you had also just met not to long ago and that could come off as prying and creepy and he definitely didn't want to be like that.

So he let you look around and when you finally did come up to the counter he asked you how your day was. You looked sad but maybe relieved someone asked you. So you told him about your troubles and he listened and tried to help the best he could and in the end he offered you a hug and you accepted even though at that point you looked ready to cry.

You smiled though when he pulled away and you asked if he maybe wanted to exchange number as he was always so friendly and you liked talking to him, shadow was more than happy to give you his number , now he maybe really did have a chance. You thanked him for his kindness and him listening to you when you really needed it. As you were about to leave you told Shadow that you would see him tomorrow as you were planning on coming back to look at more flowers.

That was it for shadow he was already falling for you and thought about you the rest of the night, even at S it was hard to concentrate he was so excited to see you again, even though he was kinda scared you would end up married or in relationship and he would be crushed again. However when he got home his phone dinged with a text from you erasing his doubts and fears form his mind. It was a simple text saying hi and how you saw this beautiful garden on your way home . He couldn't help smiling at your simple cute text about flowers, he could only imagine the smile on your face and how it must have lit up when you saw that garden, you and shadow talked some more and eventually fell asleep but not before he decided tomorrow he was gonna ask you out on date.

                 (The next day)

Okay he was definitely freaking out, what if you rejected him or you had a boyfriend or you thought he was ugly, and then boom there went your  growing friendship. He felt like he was spiraling, this wasn't good he had to pull it together otherwise he would start sweating worse than he already was and he would stink when asking you out and this had to be just right. So Shadow waited a little longer and just on time there you were coming in looking happy and breathtaking as usual.

You made your way over to him with a smile after he waved at you, ok here goes nothing, shadow greets you and grabs the bouquet of your (favorite flowers) you looked so happy as he said "these are for you, I know they are your favorites", and so he continued " I know we have only met not to long ago but you are so breathtaking and the way you smile it lights up the entire shop and certainly my entire day, you look with so much care and detail and love, I admire how much you care and how authentic you are it is so hard to find someone like you, you are one of a kind". "(Your name) would you do me the honor of letting me take you out on date”?

... “I mean only if you want to no pressure". Okay so he panicked and kinda rushed that, oh god what if you didn't understand what he said or you thought he was crazy oh no.. but before he could apologize you quickly stopped him and told him “yes” and you would love to. You also stated that he was so sweet and how nice and polite he was to you especially yesterday when you were upset and ready to cry and he comforted you.

Maybe it was fated or meant to be in a type of way, nobody knows but that was the start of a relationship that bloomed with the flowers.
