Hi, Charlie!

I'm thinking about switching my Sizzlipede Bacon Strip over to a bioactive setup, and I was curious if you had any recommendations for a good substrate for her.

She really likes burying herself in it, as well as being a total dork, and I was previously using a "ball pit" of aquarium gravel in the old terrarium, but I'm looking for a replacement that looks a bit more natural.

Apparently coconut fiber is popular for other burrowing 'mons, but I'm worried that it might be a bit too flammable.

Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated, since my "exotic" 'mon shop's staff doesn't raise Sizzlipede, which is kind of irritating.

coconut husk is actually a perfectly safe material for your buddy, since sizzlipede have great control over their heat output- in fact, they live in grassy patches in galar! they mostly let out their heat when cooking their prey, and she shouldn't heat up her belly patches outside of those times. i would just make sure to mist the bedding regularly to keep it from getting too dry, which will help prevent any accidental flames from starting a fire.

you can also go with small pumice stones, which are light enough for a small bug type like sizzlipede to safely dig around in.
