f1 Y/n L/n and Max Verstappen are out of the Belgium Grand Prix after the Red Bull of Verstappen hit the back of L/n. The latter skidded across the track before rolling over. L/n will be looked over at the medical site, especially after her last DNF back in Japan.

max_and_rookie nah man, I like max but that was seriously his fault
y/n_on_top y/n had the priority to make way for him to win. he just ruined both of their races
max_all_the_way y/n should have just let him keep going tho?
redbullcan no she shouldn't cause Red Bull gave the 2-1 strategy, putting priority for the second car
maxiel333 I fear this is Azerbaijan 2018 all over again
f1fan well there goes that amazing teammate bond. great job max, what is this, 7 teammates? bout to be 8
Once again, you were hanging upside down, in the rain. But thankfully, this time you were conscious and talking.
You pressed the button that immediately went to your panicking race engineer.
“I’m fine Mitch. Stupid rain. This was definitely not the Spa I was looking forward to. You tell my asshole of a teammate that he owes me.”
You switched your radio off before Mitch could reply. You were fuming as the marshals were trying to get you out once again. Your race suit was becoming wetter and wetter by the minute. Your back ached as you tried to move.
So, how did this all happen?
You had been able to get around Max, per team request to make way on the track that was a little less rainy. Apparently, Max thought that you were trying to get the jump on him and completely rammed the back of your RB20, sending you flying. It was definitely a mirror reflection of Azerbaijan 2018.
How you ended up rolled over once again, you didn’t know. Maybe your car just didn’t have great balance when it came to kerbs and getting rear-ended.
In a few minutes, the marshals were able to get you out. As you stretched when you got out, your eyes landed on Max’s RB20 with its nose crumpled and wheel hanging off. You smirked under your helmet.
“Serves him right.”
You two were doing amazing that weekend. Max had gotten pole once again, and you were right behind him. Except that Charles was so close behind Max most of the race. Mitch had given you the 2-1 and had told you that GP had also given the Dutchman the same order.
There was still time for you to have given the position back, but you were quicker on the slicks. You could have easily brought home another 1-2 race.
But now Charles would probably get his third win of the season because Max was too selfish.
You watched as he climbed out of his own cockpit and your blood began to boil. He not only ruined his race, but yours as well. Your arms were crossed as you stood in the rain. Replays of the wreck were playing on the big screens, just for your enjoyment.
The longer you watched, the angrier you got.
A push to your arm brought your eyes from the big screen to the Dutch driver.
“The fuck was that?” he angrily questioned.
Your eyebrow raised under your helmet. Although you were shorter, you knew how to throw your weight around. So, you shoved his shoulder back.
“Me? The fuck was that with you Max. I was given priority! This was your fault!” you shouted, earning looks from the marshals around the two of you.
Max just glared. “My fault? That was clearly a rookie mistake.”
He pushed you again.
You let out a dark chuckle. “Rookie mistake? No Max. That was a you mistake.”
Your pointer finger dug into his chest, earning you another shove. One that sent you to the ground. You were now down, looking up at Max as he glared down at you. Tears welled up in your eyes as you watched him stalk away.
A marshal was quick to help you to your feet. Max didn’t ride back with you to the paddock and walked the entire way. You, however, took advantage of the ride back and immediately tried to hide inside your drivers room when you got back. You kept your helmet on the entire time and wanted to refuse to go to the medical room. Mitch was adamant about you going since the last time you were bruised pretty badly.
She made sure it was quick: just a check over. After, your race engineer left you to yourself. While you undressed and peeled off your wet race suit, your mind started swimming.
Feelings of guilt and anxiety were building in your core. Soon, you were beginning to sob as you sat on your little bed. Really, all you wanted to do was curl up and sleep, preferably with your boyfriend, who was all the way in the Ferrari garage.
Your sobs quieted down as your eyes began to droop. Taking a nap right now seemed to be a good choice as you lied down on the small bed, curling up in a ball. A nap would keep you safe from whatever was going on. You didn’t have to deal with anything if you were asleep.
Right as you were falling asleep, Max had just gotten back to the garage. His helmet was in his hands and his eyes were to the floor, missing the disapproving looks from everyone. On the way back, he had time to think about what he had done.
Yes, he knew that you were given priority, but didn’t know exactly why. You didn’t seem faster on the slicks or were gaining. He didn’t expect you to go around him like that. And now looking back, he could see that you were making a way for him by getting rid of some water on the track so he could get more grip.
What he didn’t expect was a shove to the back and a punch to the face. He barely had time to turn around before he landed on his ass on the concrete of the garage. He was so taken back that he really couldn’t understand what was going on.
All he knew was that his face hurt, his ass hurt, and his pride hurt.
How could he have done that to you?
When he got his bearings, he finally saw a certain Monegasque be held back from jumping on him. Spits of French and English were thrown at him, and he deserved it. Once he was back on his feet, Arthur took two handfuls of his race suit and pulled him down.
There was hardly a height difference, but right now Arthur looked a lot bigger than Max did.
Arthur leaned close to Max’s face.
“How dare you? You know that she would do anything for you and what do you do to thank her? You push her down. You break her down. You blame her for your mistake.”
Silence was all that Max could offer.
Arthur scoffed as he let go.
“You’re no better than her parents.”
With that, he left and walked toward your room. He harshly pushed the door open, only to find you sound asleep, oblivious to the world outside. Arthur turned off the lights before gently climbing into your bed. He didn’t know how the two of you had fit, but you did.
He guessed that you must have sensed him as you turned over and dug your head into his neck almost immediately. Arthur pulled out his phone before googling flights back to Monaco, back to home. He’d keep you in his pocket if he had anything to do it.

Max had gotten a long talking to after everything was over. Christian probably screamed at him for over an hour, plus what GP and then what Mitch had to say after. He had wanted to apologize beforehand, but it seemed as though Arthur didn’t wat Max near you within a 25 foot radius.
And when the Dutchman thought he could speak to you at the hotel, he had to find out the hard way that you had left that afternoon to go back to Monaco before the second Italian Grand Prix. Max huffed as he thought over what he should do.
Just as you had anxiety and guilt about the incident, Max dubbed his as 10 times worse. This was it. In the past, everyone told him that he always messed up teammates for other drivers. That’s why Daniil didn’t work out, or Carlos, or Daniel, or Pierre, or Alex, or Checo. One way or another, Max always fucked it up.
Well, that’s what his mind was telling him.
And he didn’t want you to just be another name to the list.
So with phone in hand, and pilot on call, he made the executive decision to fly back to Monaco. He knew exactly where your apartment was, since you gave me the address when you first moved in and a key for emergencies.
When he landed, he went straight to the grocery store. Knowing that you had the cooking skills of Arthur and Charles combined and the pickiness of Lando amplified, he guessed that you and Arthur probably haven’t had dinner yet. So, he grabbed ingredients to make pizza. Simple enough.
He drove to your flat and was suddenly enveloped with fear. He hit his head on the steering wheel once he parked.
“I’m so stupid,” he whispered to himself as he gazed at the lights on in the windows. His head was still on the wheel as he turned to look down. What he failed to notice was you looking through the window.
“Cheri? Is everything alright?” you heard Arthur call out from the kitchen. You two had just burnt some pasta while trying to make dinner. You gazed down at the familiar car parked in front.
“Cheri?”
Now Arthur was close, also looking out the window.
“It’s Max.”
The Monegasque scoffed. “What’s he doing here?”
You hummed. “He’s probably wanting to apologize. I know what he’s like. Thur, he didn’t mean it.”
Arthur’s eyes changed from cold to understanding. He had heard enough stories from his own brother along with gossip in the paddock about Max’s childhood (or lack thereof).
He huffed once before saying, “Go to him and then invite him up.”
He watched as your eyes lit up, before you placed a kiss on his lips. A smile formed on his lips as he watched you slide shoes on and go out the door. Arthur turned back to the kitchen. He guessed he needed to clean up before you invited thee Max Verstappen into the house.
Max was so caught in his head that he missed you peering in. Only when you slightly knocked on the door, did he jump. He accidentally pressed the horn, making it echo down the empty road. He quickly unlocked the door, which let you slip in.
His blue eyes gazed into yours before he started to cry. You looked at him with a frown on your face as he tried to desperately wipe his tears. He took many harsh inhales, trying to get his emotions under control.
Max expected you to yell, scream, and hit at him. Yet, you gently placed a hand on his back and started to comfort him, like he’s done many times before.
You let him cry and cry until he was ready to talk.
“I’m such an asshole,” was the first thing that escaped his lips after his sobs started to break.
You chuckled. “I could have told you that.”
Max’s lips curved upwards in a small smile before going straight once again. He took another shuddering breath before continuing.
“I don’t want to repeat the past. I am so sorry for what I did to you, that was unfair of me. I wanted to apologize before you left, but I was too late. And I didn’t want to end today without apologizing to you. Because I don’t want you to be another teammate that I failed.”
He turned to you, eyes still glossy with leftover tears.
You leaned to give him a hug across the dash, one that he was thankful for.
He was the first one to part, still wiping at his eyes. You only gazed at him with compassion. When he was done sniffling, you started to talk.
“Max, look at me please?”
He turned his head so his bloodshot blue eyes could look at you. He looked utterly exhausted and your heart broke. If he was anything like you, you knew how much guilt he was carrying.
“You’re not, we’re not, going to repeat the past. I just need you to understand that I am your team player. And when I’m given a team order, I will follow it every time.”
Max’s head nodded in agreement.
“I’m sorry.”
“I already forgave you before I left the paddock. I heard Christian yelling at you.”
A snort left his nose. “It was probably for the best.”
The car was filled with a comfortable silence before Max broke it.
“Did you and Arthur have dinner yet?”
“Max. What do you think?”
“I’m going to take that as a no. Good think I bought groceries. Seriously, I am getting you and the Leclercs cooking lessons for Christmas.”
“I’m not that bad.”
“You almost burnt down my entire kitchen.”
“Not on purpose.”

The Eruption of Mount Vesuvius: An Allegory for Ferrari
Scuderia Ferrari holds the title as the oldest and most successful Formula 1 team, having competed in every season since 1950. Where others fell away, Ferrari has remained.
If you were to ask someone to say something about Ferrari, then there’s a few way it can go.
First, is perhaps the most common. Enzo Ferrari’s famous quote that was probably true for most of us. “Ask a child to draw a car, and certainly he will draw it red.” And Enzo Ferrari was correct. The first thought when asked about a red car or more specifically, a red sports car, is Ferrari. (And Lightning McQueen)
Then, maybe another well-known quote will come to mind. “Everybody is a Ferrari fan. Even if they say they’re not, they are Ferrari fans. Even if you go to the Mercedes guys and they say ‘Mercedes is the best brand in the world,’ they are Ferrari fan.” Sebastian Vettel said this in 2016 during one of Mercedes’ most contentious internal championship battles.
During the Monaco Grand Prix in 2022, Lewis Hamilton (the face of Mercedes in F1 himself) proved Sebastian’s statement true. During an interview with an Italian newspaper, Lewis said, “I would say one thing: if I could sit down with the fans on the bleachers over there, I would support Charles. I am a Ferrari fan.”
And if you’ve been watching Formula 1 for the past few years, then you’ll think of how the once great Scuderia has become a clown show. Questionable strategies, awfully hilarious pit stops, and great drivers with their potential wasted. All of it is a common occurrence within the Scuderia that we have grown to expect as fans and are shocked when their plans actually work out.
Contextualizing Ferrari with the song Pompeii by Bastille and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius seemed like the most coherent way to understand this downward spiral from a once great and lauded team to its current form.
Pompeii is one of the most well-known sites of a major volcanic eruption and a disastrous end to a once great city. Perhaps it is the perfect allegory for Scuderia Ferrari as we know it today.
Tumblr media
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
Eh, eheu, eheu
“Eh, eheu, eheu,” at first may just sound like a vocally beautiful start to a song about a tragedy forever remembered and memorialized in ash. But it is a Latin phrase, roughly translating to, “eh, alas, alas.” The phrase is an exclamation of pain, grief, and fear. It is an exclamation that many fans of the Scuderia can relate to. With every race weekend, there is fear of what may go wrong this time and grief at how badly it does go.
I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show
The city of Pompeii, before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, was a wealthy city. The residents, or at least some of them, lived luxurious lives with little responsibilities.
Ferrari, on a similar note, has rested on its storied history and has enjoyed luxuries that the other teams in Formula 1 do not get.
Ferrari has competed in every season of Formula 1 since the 1950 World Championships. Due to this, they have over 1000 race entries and status as a long-standing team.
One privilege given to Ferrari is the "historic bonus" from prize money. Despite not winning the constructors' championship, Ferrari tends to get more prize money at the end of the season than the winners. Since the 2021 regulation changes, Ferrari has received $35 million. Before 2021, the LST payment was $70 million, half of which was deducted from the prize money pool.
Another privilege enjoyed by Ferrari is the power to veto rule changes that won't benefit Ferrari or the sport as a whole. Thus, giving Ferrari more power than any other team in Formula 1.
Ferrari obtained the power to veto regulation back in 1980 as a means to keep them in Formula 1. During the renegotiations of the Concorde Agreement in 2019, Ferrari was able to retain the veto power. However, a key thing to note is that the veto power is used sparingly by Ferrari. It was last used in 2015 when Ferrari vetoed the FIA's plans to introduce a €12 million engine price cap. The proposal at the time had gotten a majority vote by the teams before the veto was utilized by the Scuderia.
So, Ferrari has gotten these unique luxuries and privileges for being an integral part to Formula 1 and the history it has within the sport. But despite all of this, there is "nothing to show for it" these past few years. Since the days of Michael Schumacher at the team came to an end, the Scuderia has been on a downward spiral.
You could argue that 2007 was a good year, they won both championships, didn't they? But, were it not for McLaren's Spygate scandal and then McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, more focused on beating one another, it's highly unlikely that the championships would have gone to Ferrari.
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills bringing darkness from above
Before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, there were signs signaling that the volcano's period of dormancy was coming to an end. Most notably, in 62 AD, 17 years before the eruption, there was a major earthquake that devasted Pompeii and the surrounding region. The earthquake caused damage to buildings, with some of them collapsing, and a disruption to the water supply in the city. Now, we know that it was the first indication of Vesuvius awakening. Seventeen years later, when Vesuvius erupted, Pompeii was still rebuilding from the earthquake in 62 AD and the ongoing tremors that it had endured since then.
Regardless of how much time residents of Pompeii spent rebuilding after 62 AD, they never really were able to because ongoing tremors and quakes kept the walls tumbling down.
These days, as fans and spectators of the sport, we expect to see some sort of Ferrari blunder when it comes to pit stops or strategies. Monaco 2022's double-stack pit stop that cost Charles Leclerc a win at his home race comes into mind, or maybe Austin 2023 when Charles Leclerc was put on a one-stop strategy that took him from pole position to sixth place before disqualification due to the plank, or any number of impeding penalties that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have gotten due to their team not relaying the information to them.
But just like the 62 AD earthquake in Pompeii and subsequent tremors, signs of Ferrari's downward spiral could be seen soon after the end of the Schumacher era.
We could think back to the Japanese Grand Prix in 2007 as Ferrari driver, Kimi Raikkonen, was in a championship fight with the McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. The wet weather conditions of the Grand Prix required that extreme wet weather tyres be used. However, both Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa were forced to pit so the tyres could be changed after the race had started under the safety car. While Kimi was able to finish 3rd, it did put him 17 points behind in the championship.
Another major blunder shortly after the Schumacher era that comes to mind, is the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. A highly contentious race for many different reasons. You may recall Singapore 2008 for Nelson Piquet Jr. crashing, Fernando Alonso taking the win, and the entirety of the Crashgate saga with Renault. But as Crashgate was occurring, Ferrari was doing as Ferrari does.
In 2008, it was once more a McLaren driver and a Ferrari driver battling for the championship with Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, respectively. When Nelson Piquet Jr. crashed and a safety car was brought out, many drivers chose to pit as there is less time lost during the pit stop. Felipe Massa, three seconds ahead of his championship rival, Lewis Hamilton, chose to pit. But unlike Lewis Hamilton and other drivers who had decent pit stops, Ferrari released Felipe too early with the fuel hose still attached to his car. A Ferrari mechanic was dragged along with the fuel hose and Felipe had to stop at the pit lane exit to release the hose. Thankfully, the mechanic was okay, but Felipe's race was compromised and the race ended with Lewis in the championship lead.
We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settled around us
When Mount Vesuvius erupted, material from the volcano covered the residents of Pompeii who had not been able to escape the city. A common image that comes to mind when thinking of this is the stone bodies covered in lava that cooled and retained the shape. However, as the lava cooled around the dead, the bodies decomposed until there was a void left in those shapes. Since the 1860s, archaeologists and scientists have used the negative space in the rocks to recreate replicas of bodies with plaster.
The dead of Pompeii were left in this void and stasis. As are so many of the drivers who came to Ferrari with hopes of winning with the Scuderia, wanting to bring back glory to Maranello, and do as Michael Schumacher once did.
Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel.
They all joined Ferrari with hopes of winning the championship with the red team and all of them left with their dreams unfulfilled. An empty void of their potential was decaying from the inside as Ferrari continued to make endless blunders and not deliver cars that could win the championship.
But regardless of it all, nothing ever changes in the Scuderia. They're still caught up in the historic past as the dust settles and drivers with great potential leave.
Oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
Oh, oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins
The eruption of Mount Vesuvius was devasting for the city of Pompeii and the neighboring city of Herculaneum, but there were some survivors who were able to escape and relocate. Archaeologists have traced some survivors and figured out that they relocated to other cities with social and economic opportunities.
After disaster strikes, there is a question of what do we do first? Do we focus on the the physical things we can see like the rubble? Or the root causes of the disaster that we can't easily see?
Ferrari constantly treads this line of deciding what to focus on. Should they focus on the obvious with the pit stops, strategy, and car. Or the power struggles within the team and personnel.
The inner struggles within the team are endless.
Possible tensions between teammates Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz (which have been denied by both drivers, but instances during race weekends kind of make it seem like there is some tension - especially when it comes to qualifying orders)
The Sainz camp beefing with Charles Leclerc: Carlos' mother liking tweets about Charles not having honor, Carlos' father declaring "war" on Charles by saying that it's always Carlos that has to follow team orders and team orders are non-existent when Charles is behind.
The Lapo Elkann tweet about Santander, the Spanish bank that joined as a sponsor after Carlos Sainz joined the team
Departures of staff and Team Principal Fred Vassuer saying that Ferrari is "miles away" from a perfect structure
Ferrari has internal and external problems that they have to deal with before they can have a successful season. It's very obvious that the car isn't fast, the pit stops tend to be awful, and the strategy is rarely good, but there are also so many internal problems with fights for power in the Scuderia.
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
If you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
In the four days leading to the eruption, the city of Pompeii experienced small earthquakes that continued to increase in frequency. However, as stated above, small earthquakes and tremors were commonplace in the Campania region where Pompeii was. So, for the thousands of residents, it wasn't a sign of death and destruction and life continued on as it normally did. Until Vesuvius erupted and there was nothing to be optimistic about, giving into the grief and pain.
At this point, after nearly twenty years of watching as Ferrari fumbles and destroys the hopes of its drivers and fans, it has come to be commonplace to expect the least from Ferrari. Pole positions are things of dread, double-stack pit stops are nightmare fuel, and openly fans think that drivers should leave the team if they want any chances of winning.
But yet, there is hope.
A look back to Monza 2023, when the Tifosi surrounded Charles Leclerc. The crowd sang "Leclerc bring us the Championship," having complete faith in the driver who went through the ranks from the Ferrari Driver Academy and made his way to Ferrari after just one year in Formula 1.
And it's not just the Tifosi that have faith and resilience in the face of what should be a demoralizing downward spiral from the heights of greatness with Michael Schumacher. Charles Leclerc continues to push and put the car where it shouldn't be with 4 pole positions this season. Making it the second most pole positions for a driver this season, only behind Max Verstappen's 11 pole positions. Always striving for more and not settling for being in the midfield.
The eruption of Mount Vesuvius and Scuderia Ferrari are two Italian tragedies nearly 2,000 years apart. Echoes of one another despite only having an Italian background in common.

This is the second part of a comic of the "quartets of evil" book by akuno-p featuring a false goddess and an angsty teen.
Tumblr media
I don't have a lot to say about this one, except for a few facts about Held, in the series:
Held would be regarded in the japanese culture as a [御神木]("sacred tree"), the likes of which were worshipped a lot in the japanese history, especially in the shintoist religion.
Held directly references another "sacred tree" from the norse mythlogy (yggdrasil), hence Held's family name ("Yggdra").
Sometimes I'm tempted to call Held's name "Eld" instead of "Held", and that's for a few reasons:
one of those is how akuno actually translated the name of the tree as "Eld" in the official english title of the song "tree maiden ~millennium wiegenlied~": "spirit of Eld" (as Michaela is one of his underlings in the series).
Another reason for this is his role in the series: he is a senior (in the "Cambridge" dictionary also known as "elder", if you look up the meaning of "elder" there) of the facility in which Levia, Behemo, and a few others who worked or studied under (like Seth, in the construction of the original "black box" or Rahab Barisol, another one from the same clinic, and so on...).
The ‘swap’ was a special psychiatric examination technique discovered and advocated for by the head of this facility, professor Held Yggdra. ("muzzle of nemesis" novel, prologue).
Held was always regarded respectfully as a "professor" in the series by his ex-colleagues, as he was someone who used to be their boss or teacher, in the second period.
I also imagine Held to be a man of old age, even (considering the time he may have had to become a judge and a boss of a clinic in the second period) and in the third period he was an old tree that sleeps frequently (as a lot of old people do, even in real life).
Held was also the boss and a senior compared to every character that has died before the Held-Luna vs Levia-Behemo controversy in the "climb one" and reincarnated as an animal, in the series.
Therefore, I think that Held's name is supposed to be a reference to the fact that he's probably an old man and a senior professor and chief both among his colleagues in the second period and among the "forest spirits" in the third period.
A third reason why I think Held's name is actually supposed to be "Eld" is because of the "sns" group chat Levia, Behemo, Sickle and Held after the false utopia of the "fourth period" is established.
E:<…Is this really alright?…>
L:<It’s fine, isn’t it? This is the world he wanted. It’s not up to us to speak up on it>
[...]
B:<Your old-man complaints are getting tiresome, E. We’ve got no choice but to watch over it, now. That’s what you guys originally wanted from the start, isn’t it? –Well, S?>
S:<Ha ha, it’s as B says. I don’t mind this outcome myself. …by the by, I found this article on a news site> ("master of the heavenly yard" novel, chapter 12, section 3).
If you notice, the characters are identified by their initials (Sickle, Behemo, Levia...) and Held's initial is not "H", but "E" as in "Eld".
A similar speech can be done regarding the name of the "black boxes" of the second period, as they're named after the first letter of the name of their constructor (or rather, the character that is the boss over their construction) :
"black box type l" -> Levia
"black box type s" -> Seth
"black box type e" (the first model of the "black box", for which Held was the overseer of the construction) -> Eld.
Important disclaimer (must read):
Of course, this is not for the purpose of scolding whoever calls the character Held (as I did the same in this very post lol, for habit), neither to cause controversy. This is just a reflection. For me you can call the evillious characters and Eld in whichever way you like, as long as I understand what you are talking about, even "Heldoh", "Eldoh", "Eldo" or "Erudoh" (even though this last one sounds pretty bad, honestly).
As for me, I simply like sticking to the assumed original intentions of the author, as I usually do here, trying to stick to the "canon" of the series as much as possible.
For that reason, I may end up using the name "Eld" for "Held", and in that case, I don't want anyone to question which character I'm referring to: with "Eld" I don't talk about any oc or unknown character, I'm talking about Held.
Also please, you're invited to avoid correcting people about what they decide to call this character, we have been using the name "Held" for so many years and I don't expect anyone to suddenly change that unless they want to.

Not to be a crossword shill blog, but there's a cool thing I'm a part of, so:
Puzzmo is basically trying to be a digital version of a newspaper's puzzle page. It has a bunch of little games, but the thing I've been involved with is a daily midi-sized crossword. I'm on the crossword constructing/editing/test solving team, and we're trying really hard to make really fun puzzles that highlight individual constructors' voices and interests. (They also have added hints if you want to make them a little easier.)
They're still in the soft launch period right now, so they're releasing a few hundred keys everyday. (You have to solve a puzzle to get in.) If you can get in soon, I do have a puzzle running there in a little over a week, and hopefully I'll have more running after they fully open the site in a month or two.

Can’t wait to see what these “news” sites come up with once Red Bull rolls up to Suzuka with zeropods like it’s already obviously a completely different car than VCARB but then even casual fans should be able to perceive it with their own two eyes
Vcarb and Red Bull have been very open about the fact that the car will have the RB19 suspension. It’s not a secret that the car will look like the RB19 but so will most other cars on the grid. And the top 5 constructors will have unlocked far more performance over the winter break. The vcarb car will at most fight with the Alpines and maybe the Aston Martins to be in the points on a good weekend.
There’s no guarantee that just because the car will look like the RB19 that podiums are a sure thing.
This is my personal opinion, so it may be completely misguided, but I think that, despite the closer technical collaboration this year, vcarb as a second team is now more independent from the Red Bull apparatus than it has ever been before. It has two very important title sponsors to answer to, and I don’t think they’ll do anything ‘illegal’ that could potentially endanger that funding

De Vries had the pace and I learned from him says Tsunoda | 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix
AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda reckons his former team mate Nyck de Vries “had the pace” to be in Formula 1 and said he “learned from him” during their 10 grands prix together. De Vries lost his seat following the British Grand Prix two weeks ago, and has been replaced by Daniel Ricciardo – who raced for AlphaTauri a decade ago when it was known as Toro Rosso – for the rest of the season. “I’m looking forward to working with Daniel. I can’t say I know him very well, but we had a fun day filming together earlier this year in Miami,” said Tsunoda. De Vries had only made a single F1 start before joining AlphaTauri this year. Ricciardo is an eight-times grand prix winner with over 200 starts to his name. “I think I’ll benefit from having a very good, experienced driver as a team mate,” Tsunoda continued. “I’m sure I can learn lots of things from him and I also expect he will be able to bring something to the team and move the car development forward.” AlphaTauri has slipped from eighth to tenth in the constructors’ standings over the course of this season. Their most recent points finish came seven races ago. Despite de Vries losing his place at the team before the season reached its halfway mark, Tsunoda said he played an important role in the team’s performance. Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free “I had an enjoyable time over the past ten races with Nyck. I learned from him, and we also had a good time away from the track. “He had plenty of experience in other categories and gave the team good feedback based on his knowledge. He had the pace and, as a friend, I enjoyed my time with him.” The team hopes to lift itself from the bottom of the points standings after bringing the latest in a series of new parts for the AT04. “For this weekend, we have more upgrades for the race in Hungary, on top of those we brought to the last race,” said Tsunoda. “Budapest has completely different track characteristics compared to the past two races, and its slow-speed corners should suit our car better than the high-speed ones.” “As a team, we’re very motivated to go forward and develop the car as much as possible. In my mind, I’ve had a complete reset from the last few races, especially Silverstone, and I’m in a positive frame of mind.” Become a RaceFans Supporter RaceFans is run thanks in part to the generous support of its readers. I need to do a chronicle of ofmd episodes because I'm 2 minutes in and I already have A LOT to say, so spoilers for ep 4 under the cut! Don't click if you don't want the whole episode spoiled!
"Ed ed speak to me! Ed???" SBONK
"Did Ed do that?" "It was an accident" "They all say that" lmaooo unhinged but I love how they don't let it go unnoticed
NOT wee Jhon knitting girly y2k sweaters!
Did they really have Taika flex the bicep just for the fangirls
Ya considering Izzy came back from his banishment I guess this is temporary
Like the cuscus brain
(Why is it that whenever I watch new eps of my fav series there's always constructors making a lot of noise in the background, feels like I live in an open construction site)
Bird dude hair game is insane this season
Tumblr media
They have thrift shops now, I love this show
Ooh older lesbian pirate open couple
Ooooh older lesbian pirate open couple is fighting
Does anyone in this show get stabbed and walk it off like it's nothing
Ohhh ok I think I get it the homolesboerotic stabbing is in place of sex in this show, subtle lol
Olu calling Jim "babe"🥹
All this Izzy suffering is undignified but what I really want to see is the indignity of the brony leg, how does it come to that???
"You left me for mary" Did he really lose the "Stede left his wife TWICE" part? Selective hearing Ed needs to stop being a bitch honestly
"Two whim prone people shouldn't just run to China" YES THEY'RE TALKING IT OUT AND SAYING IT ALL IN THE HEALTHIER WAY THIS SHOW CAN MANAGE my pores are clean my crops are cropping and whatever that meme also said
An actual love confession that isn't cheesy nonsense???
Good omens needs to take notes
"Have you had sex yet" NO GOMENS STOP TAKING NOTES (last thing we need is Fucking in a tornado 2 the revenge of cringe)
Oof I never noticed how small and thin Ed is compared to Hunk Stede send heelp
Tumblr media
Oh no this is a nod to the fandom right? I've never been on twitter but I've heard t h i n g s
My god the cinematography is a masterpiece here, I love the action in this episode
Not me thinking she was a vampire smoking from the sun for a moment, wwdits being taika's show threw me off
Not related but I think they twinkified Stede and hunkified Ed to make them seem more like equals, like in that The Witcher video where they explained how they twikyfied the bard dude to make him seem more boyish
"You are harassing a cripple" *Finds a horse leg*
Don't tell me bird dude is gonna turn Ed into a seagull or something
It took bird dude to turn into a bird for Ed to finally understand PEOPLE CHANGE
Bi Izzy (Bizzy Izzy?) the Unicorn
"It's like a non stop knockin' shop on that ship" I feel like I'm missing 10 layers of meaning by being not native eng speaker

So. Maybe I didn’t understand something from the blog, but it seems like the developers said that players will need to be able to take a look at the updated character in advance, since the ambassadors will have early access for a week. That is yesterday. And I still have not seen any hints of this anywhere. We don’t even have a trailer from the developers, and the character constructor on the site does not give a full understanding.

In regards to the prev anon about the new McLaren wind tunnel etc
Do you feel like they’re maybe putting too much hope into that? Lando said that he’s looking to win in 2024 (which I get, he’s a racing driver so what else is he gonna say) but they’re about one-one and a half seconds behind the top teams rn - feels like a lot to ask from “just” a new wind tunnel and sim
Not really, the gaps will close naturally overtime, especially with the top teams getting less wind tunnel and CFD testing compared to the teams that finish lower in the constructors.
Also a new wind tunnel (that’s actually on their site instead of in Germany) and a simulator that rivals that of the front runners is a significant improvement, because it puts their facilities at a point where they are closer to that of Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.
The thing is, theres always going to be those weird and crazy races where there’s a surprise winner, and I think that will be McLaren’s aim for the next few years, to be in the position to capitalise on those races where the car is stronger.
I don’t think they are aiming for championship contention or regular race wins in 2024, it’s more about building up to occasionally getting in the fight at the front, which I think should be possible.

The Benefits of Working with Facility Management Consultants
To build a brand new building you must check a number of components before starting construction. Working with a construction facility management consultants can certainly help alleviate your concerns about your project. Talk to these experts and learn a little more about brand new building construction and the dangers associated with them.
Tumblr media
If you plan to build a new home or perhaps a large facility, you will go through a long process From the preparation process to the turnover of your home, you always have to observe the important things. You usually have to be by the side of your constructor to make sure everything is in the right position. When you forget to do this, you can waste your investment. You may ask yourself how you can protect your investment if you do not know anything about engineering. A construction facility management consultant can really help you with this process. They specialize in construction and have engineering degrees. They can come to your aid and help you explain the basics.
A construction consultant gives you a few solutions. Below are a few of them.
Project planning :
Such experts can guide you from the beginning of your project. They recommend designs and supplies to use so you know your new home or facility is of high quality. They help you create a budget so that you can spend based on the money you receive. This can be a problem for some people who do not get help and advice from the authorities. There is a tendency to spend extra on unnecessary additions to their benefits.
Facility management consultants also assist in overseeing current progress. Through this method, they help to identify potential hazards and present the method to them when they occur.
Forensic work :
Sadly, many buildings may not be as strong and durable because of certain components. If problems are not quickly identified, the entire building may collapse. Your consultant can really help point out the problem so that the developer can find a solution to it. This could be a weak spot on the floorboard or a problem with the foundation. They will try to find the root cause and plan the steps to prevent the problem from happening.
Security :
You may need to go through construction protection programs to make sure your site is safe. The lessons you will learn from these courses will reduce the number of events on the site. You will learn more about using safety gear that contractors should always wear in this area. There should be different signs in some corners of the site to remind the staff. Almost all employees have to go just before starting these programs. Restrictions from outsiders are among the first few regulations of the development site. Construction safety programs don’t just try to guard area employees. It also presents a precautionary measure for many who live near the site. Visit evbex.com for for more exclusive information.

okokok so im not sure if you get this alot, but how do you get into f1??
i already love niki lauda, and rush, but i dont really know where to go from there? is there any specific youtube channels, blogs, websites ect that you could recommend? i dont really know where to start haha
Hi Anon!! Welcome to the F1 club. I'll just give you my kind of personal journey to learning F1, but this list isn't for everyone. Just what I did. Hopefully a few points can help!
If anyone would like to add suggestions to this list, feel free. Drop a comment if you want anon to follow you, @ f1 and classic f1 people!
To begin, here's the official F1 site where you can view basic info, the season calendar, driver standings, and updates about the sport.
list under the cut
Watch DTS. Everyone may hate me for this, but I got my hype for F1 by watching Drive to Survive. If you haven't seen that series on Netflix, I would highly recommend it. It gives an exciting, modern intro to the sport if you haven't had exposure to F1 before. Just remember to take the portrayal of drama/driver relationships with a grain of salt, because Netflix adds a lot of their own drama inaccuracies to it.
Watch F1 YouTube "tutorial" videos. I watched a ton of YouTube when I was just learning about F1. Search up basic things, like... very basic. Literally: What is F1? Why are there different tires? What is downforce? You only really get into a sport when you are able to understand it, and I promise you, F1 youtube will provide you with more than enough knowledge about the sport. I recommend the official Formula 1 channel, and maybe WTF1 for some funny stuff that can still teach you things.
Interact on social media. The F1 fanbase is huuuuge, and they're very active on social media. Probably more than any other sport's fanbase I've ever been a part of. Fans love talking about their teams, their favorite drivers, etc. You'll catch onto the drama very soon, and meet some very... opiniated people along the way. You can also follow the constructors' and drivers' personal accounts to get a feel of their motivations/personalities. You'll soon get to know everyone and then can develop a motivation for watching your favorite drivers.
Get in touch with F1's history. F1 has a very rich history with some great personalities and very talented drivers. If you're already into Niki and Rush, that's great! Some other big names you'll hear a lot are ones like Senna and Schumacher. Watch their documentaries. Watch other old drivers' documentaries. YouTube is once again a great resource for finding old F1 videos. Simply search up "Top 10 F1" and you'll have a long list of recommended videos that show iconic battles and drama between some of the legends of the sport.
Gradually start to watch the races or highlights of the races on Sundays, even if you don't understand what's going on most of the time. To me, modern F1 seems extremely boring if you don't know what's going on. There's nothing that really draws you in. But as you learn more and more about the sport, you can gain an appreciation for it.
Anyways, I hope this list is helpful! Best of luck getting introduced to the sport, and welcome to the group!

Singapore F1 Grand Prix
By. Vivan Shandilya
Tumblr media
October 2022, Singapore - Red Bull Racing's Sergio Pérez dominates the streets of Marina Bay, with the Mexican winning an exciting but chaotic 2022 Singapore Airlines Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix under maximum pressure from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Pérez, the first driver to win both the Monaco and Singapore Grand Prix in the same season since Sebastian Vettel in 2011, and a new city-state winner, took the lead at Turn 1 and remained there for the time being.
Pérez led every lap and maintained the win despite a 5-second penalty and two penalty points on his steward's license after the race for falling more than 10 car lengths from the Safety Car on lap 36.
Lando Norris started sixth and finished fourth, while Daniel Ricciardo moved from 16th to fifth place for a result that put the team four points clear of rival Alpine in the fight for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton may have won the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix four times, but the 2022 edition was one to forget with multiple incidents for the Brit - including contact with Sainz at the start and later the barrier.
