That would be the best! Can you rec me some things in Leiden (since you put a little <3), Utrecht, Maastricht and Breda for NL and Ghent if you have any

To do in Leiden:

- Visit the Burcht (a city park with 12th century remains of a castle fort and very nice view of the city and nearby church (Hooglandse kerk))

- Restaurant De Waag (very cool building on the in and outside)

- Walk through Rapenburg street, next to the canal. Is a nice walk with pretty houses

- Go to the Hortus Botanicus

- And the city center is very walkable and not too big so it’s easy to have a pretty walk (that’s why i love this city)

To do in Utrecht:

- Visit the Sint Martin’s Cathedral and the the pretty garden next to it (Pandhof van de Dom, it gives Harry Potter vibes)

- Dom tower

- Winkel van Sinkel Restaurant and Tapas Kelder (is in the same building)

- Miffy Museum lol

- Walk past the canal in the city center (Oudegracht, that’s also where you can shop great)

To do in Breda (i’ve never been there lol):

- Grote Kerk Breda (church)

- Beer Advertisement Museum (never been, looks fun tho)

- Walk through the city park Valkenberg

- Walk through city center , have a nice lunch somewhere

Maastricht (been there once like 5 year ago lol):

- Basilica of Our Lady (again an old church thing lol)

- Bookstore Dominicanen (is a bookstore in an old church, very cool)

- Market Square

To do in Ghent (been here once as well lol):

- Korenmarket

- Saint Michael’s Bridge

- Museum voor Schone Kunsten (art museum)

- Wasbar (a restaurant which is very slay with yummy food for breakfast and lunch)

- City hall Ghent

You should also go to Amsterdam but think that was a given so i didn’t say lol <3 but have a lot of tips for that as well if you ever wanna go

Merida in Venezuela, genesteld in de Andes, niet ver van San Cristobal bij de Colombiaanse grens. Oom Joop, getrouwd met de lokale tante Marucha, bleek een gewiekste scharrelaar en dreef zijn Winkel van Sinkel (Casa Japonesa op z'n Spaans, stond op de gevel) met verve: een winkel waarin hij alles verkocht wat los+vastzat, allerlei goedkope troep Made in Hong Kong en Made in Japan, een soort van Action en kringloopwinkel tesaam. Zij hadden vier nog jonge tienerzonen, Ricky, Luís, Carlos en Eduardo, die "te lui waren hun eigen kont te krabben" volgens oom Joop. Of ik ze eerst nog even Nederlands wilde leren was zijn verzoek, toen ik hem van mijn reisplan naar Colombia en verder op de hoogte bracht. Het was 31 december en ik besloot op een mooie dag in het verse jaar verder te reizen. Eerst vanavond Nieuwjaar in Merida vieren met familie en Zuidamerikaanse buren.

**Op zaterdag 1 januari 1972 noteerde ik: Hein wordt vandaag 24 jaar. (Hij is nu als ik dit blog 73). Is dat veel of weinig? Ik ben altijd blij geweest dat Hein de oudste was, want die kreeg voortdurend bij ongeregeldheden thuis te horen dat hij het voorbeeld moest geven.

In het nieuwe jaar reed ik veel rond met 1 of 2 of 3 of 4 neef/neven als gids in oom Joops ouwe Volkswagen Kever, terwijl we Nederlands probeerden te praten. Ik vond ze niet lui, die neefjes van me, ik vond ze Zuidamerikaans. Echt overdonderend mooi, de Andes, hoogst indrukwekkend voor een vlakkelander als ik. En nou ben ik pas in het noorden, die Andes ga ik nog vele duizenden kilometers volgen door Colombia, Ecuador, Peru en Bolivia.

**Onderweg in een dorpje tussen twee haarspeldbochten zie ik een man met opgestroopte broekspijp een joekel van een wond op zijn onderbeen schoonschrapen met zijn machete. Hij beet op zijn tanden, dat kon je zien. **We aten met de hele familie op het hoogste punt van Venezuela, La Aguila 4118 mtr. Letterlijk adembenemend, èn lekker. **Liften is een kwestie van wederzijds wantrouwen in Zuid-Amerika. De bestuurder vertrouwt de lifter niet en de lifter kan de bestuurder niet vertrouwen. Die wil misschien straks toch geld of gaat er met je bagage vandoor. Dus geef ik mij geheel over aan het onvoorspelbare, avontuurlijke en goedkope openbare vervoer.

"If one is thinking about countries being successful in boxing, just a few will have Ghana in mind. But Ghana produced a couple of world champions in boxing – the most famous one being Azumah Nelson. The weird fact about boxing in Ghana is all world champions are from Bukom, a small neighborhood of Accra. Bukom is a poor suburb, most people work as fishermen. But boxing here has a long tradition – it is the second nature of the people as many say. Hundreds of years ago, the Ga-People, an ethnic group who lives mainly in Accra, developed their own way of fighting. Due to the British influence during colonization, the Ga came in touch with boxing. Since then boxing is the most famous sport in Bukom. Nowadays boxing is much more than a sport, it is a way to escape poverty and everyday problems. Many kids and juveniles dream of being a professional boxer in the US or Europe. They fight for their dreams, literally." (Source)
