i love it when people apply the whole “humans are space orcs” idea to transformer humans.

jack, miko and raf just doing regular, average day things that make the bots both extremely worried and unsettled gives me so much brainrot.

I got you here. I love this kind of lore/reaction ask.

Each of the children have a particular habit that bothers the team more than anything else. Can it be explained? Not really. All humans do the things they do. But for the bots, it is strange and out of sorts all the same.

Miko always carries around a bottle of sparkling water. She adores the stuff. The team, despite knowing it is not what the name implies, are still horrified with her drinking habits. Not to mention, they can't help but wonder where all the liquid goes. She drinks up to three whole bottles of water a day. In her own words "Hydrate or die." That in it of itself is concerning since the team, while well aware that humans need water, do not know how much they need exactly. The team are down right terrified of her ability to down water like a dry sponge. How can such a small fleshy even consume that much? They aren't entirely sure. Not only that, but if she drinks that much, then are Jack and Rafael getting enough? They can't be.

Not only does Miko down water like a bone dry houseplant, she also drinks just about anything else too. The team have seen her chug sodas which contain Primus knows how many strange chemicals and compounds. They've observed her willingly drink things that no other would on bets, including food that has been blended and watered down just because Jack wanted to see if it was possible for her to down hotdog cafeteria milk cheeto apple slurry.

Yes the team are terrified of humans and their ability to put anything inside themselves and walk it off. But more than any other, they fear Miko. Who knows what she's consumed.

All the kids do it, but Jack is the most notable since when he needs to go to the restroom, he makes it loud and clear mainly so that someone knows to keep an eye on Miko. The team are aware that organics have a need to manually handle removing waste since their systems are rather inefficient, however there is a certain level of mysteriousness surrounding the restrooms. The bots don't want to watch or even know HOW the humans get rid of waste, but they do know that THINGS happen in the restroom that seem to either be painful, emotional, refreshing, or aggravating. No one can really be sure what reaction will follow those who enter the space. Sometimes Jack or one of the other kids will go in there seemingly to just be alone.

It is a strange and almost sacred location where strange happenings occur. Miko went in once with bloody clothes and emerged with a fresh set before Ratchet could figure out what was wrong in the first place. Jack went in once and came out an hour later looking like he'd gone to war after he convinced Arcee to let him stop and get takeout the night before. Rafael took his charger and computer in there and hogged the space for a while to get away from the others once. The team does not know what happens in there, but it is mildly concerning since it either repairs or breaks a person.

Bulkhead theorizes that its a pocket dimension like the shadow zone. Ratchet refuses to think about it. Optimus will say nothing about whatever he knows. Arcee and Bee assume its a safe haven or sorts and Wheeljack is almost certain they keep weapons in there. Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen both agree that the restroom is simply a quiet space where a human can deal with personal issues in peace.

No bot is willing to try and confirm anything since humans flip out at any attempts to view the supposedly sacred ground.

Rafael is generally pretty good about flying under the radar most of the time, but he has a habit that has caught the team's attention. Humans have been noted doing what they can to clean themselves on their own. Its rather ineffective to clean one's own venting openings with digits considering the sheer amount of germs involved, but it is not out of the question to do so when a cleaning cloth is not available. Rafael occasionally and quietly trying to clean his nose is not what bothers the team.

No what horrifies them is the goop that he pulls out after his attempt at cleaning. What Ratchet has studied states that the goop is referred to by a number names, but is commonly called snot. Its the natural germ catcher humans have, but it still unsettles the team whenever Rafael quietly blows a few or when one of the others grabs a tissue and makes a rather disgusting sound as they try to clear their airways.

The goop reminds the team of any number of horrible things. But the sheer amount of GROSS within a small amount of the stuff has left the team all gagging whenever they find the stuff around base. Rafael is usually good about being clean, but sometimes he gets lazy and will use his chair to hide his cleaning attempts. Bumblebee has almost purged a few times seeing the marks on the chair from where Rafael may or may not have wiped his fingers.

Is he twelve? Yes. Is he fully mature? No. That much is evident just by looking at his chair.

OKKKK the little concept in my head has slender's MAIN GOAL being to prevent any paranormal/supernatural stuff coming out to the general public. hence his proxies being made to get rid of tapes, evidence, and kill if Necessary. sometimes slender makes paranormal/supernatural ppl help out his human proxies "as payment for refuge" in his forest. SO that sorta explains how toby and jack know each other and why jack helps at all. he can't rlly go out to the public so he's stuck with these assholes. it's not really supposed to be a 'mansion' trope, moreso random cabins and shelters littered about the forest, but it could work in the mansion au too

Imma ramble abt toby n jacks friendship (in my head) under the cut + a random x virus doodle

as for toby and jack specifically. toby is impulsive, aggressive, can't feel pain, and doesn't know what's good for him, so he's forced to get help from jack a good bit. for a long while there was hella tension between them since, again, jack isn't helping these guys out of the goodness of his heart. he's helping them bc the forest their boss resides in is the only place he's relatively safe. jack has a weird mix of a inferiority and superiority complex, since he envies toby's humanity but also feels like he's 'better' due to toby's own . . violent habits. toby thinks jack is pretty cool from the get-go ('wooow ur grey..') but he gets pissed off with jack's questions and demands of 'DONT RIP UR FUCKING STITCHES' and 'u have a concussion don't fucking scroll on your phone for 5 hours a day'.

toby has no idea if these demands come from actual concern or annoyance, and frankly, neither does jack. regardless, toby's with jack a decent bit. partially since jack makes a lot of people really uncomfortable so it's easy to go hang out with jack when he doesnt wanna deal with anyone else but still wants company. eventually theyre capable of some decent banter and conversations. theyre both mamas boys so thats a very weird touchy topic that they kinda dance around but both feel very deeply and know the other relates. THEY MISS THEIR MOMS SO BADLY.. :( mayhaps one year toby helps drop off flowers to jack's moms house for mothers day. jacks way too ashamed to even get within a 10 mile radius of his mom. that's kinda the moment things really shift between them and they actually become friends.

toby also asks abt university. lyra was at community college until she passed, and toby never considered college as an option, so he gets curious on what he missed out on. he also likes to share stuff abt lyra and their old shenanigans. tim and brian have used his childhood against him multiple times before, and it's not like he's gonna trust ben or jeff with that information. jacks sort of like a void he could talk into. jack feels uneasy talking about his life before the sacrifice, since he misses it so unbelievably bad, but toby accidentally got him to talk about it while treating a burn before.

Mike

dealing with a traumagenic disorder (DID) I would imagine he's honestly kind of in the same boat.

He's no stranger to panic attacks, and is pretty well versed by now in how to deal with them.

The first time it happens though he's sort of an anxious wreck, he's just nervous that trying to help might make it worse, but he doesn't want to leave your side.

He gives you lot's of words of encouragement, and helps you through breathing exercises, and gets you plenty of water.

"It's okay, breathe with me, I'm right here," he assures you gently.

If you require pressure/physical contact during your panic attacks, he's more than happy to give you that.

He gets good at catching them too, he'll always be able to identify when you're about to spiral because of too much noise or too bright lights, and he'll find a quiet secluded room so he can work through it with you.

"Sorry you have to deal with this too," you said, after a particularly bad one, you still felt dizzy, and tears still stained your face, but you had come out of it now, and felt a little guilty.

"Hey don't apologize, I don't mind. Not at all."

He's just very caring with this kind of stuff in general.

Manitoba

Maintoba is similar to Mike, and I would think he likes to carry around a backpack whenever he is fronting (you never know when you're going to run into treasure). So he always keeps noise canceling headphones and a pair of sunglasses in there just for you.

Honestly I headcanon him as the caretaker of the system, so I imagine he's used to caring for people during panic attacks.

He's very observant, probably even more so than Mike, so he's better at avoiding them all together by identifying what situations you can handle and what you can't.

He always does a little research before the two of you go out in the environment to ensure that it doesn't seem loud/bright/overstimulating.

However sometimes these things are just unavoidable, and inevitable.

He'll provide you with whatever physical comfort you require, if any at all.

Anything you need, he's there to get for you.

"Take all the time in the world treasure, I'll still be here," he said.

He's all around good at keeping you grounded, and just good at being there with you.

Svetlana

I would think Svetlana is probably the protector/gatekeeper, most of her comfort comes from her just being fiercely loyal.

She'll be there no matter what, and you take great comfort in that fact.

She's not as good with being traditionally comforting, since it's a little out of her element.

Not that she doesn't try of course, she really cares about you, and she wants that to come across.

(I would think she would panic a little and ask Manitoba and Mike for help from the inner world).

But she would absolutely stay with you, coaching you through breathing exercises, talking to try and distract you.

Eventually if you let her know what you need (be it space, a distracting, physical comfort, quiet, dark) you name it, she will get it for you.

She's much better at caring for you after the panic attack honestly, when you feel really tired and put out, disoriented and just overwhelmed.

"Svetlana's here now to melt all your worries away," she smiled at you once.

She'll almost always bring you home, or take you to a secluded room, and just hangout with you. She'll turn all the lights off and sit in silence with you so you can have basically zero sensory input for a little while.

She'll absolutely stay with you until you feel yourself again.

Mal

Okay things with Mal are a little tricky.

He's for sure a former prosecutor and after a bit of system healing, definitely prosecutor turned protector.

Don't get me wrong though, he can still be a little nasty and snarky sometimes, but he's working on getting better.

Which is why he feels sort of out of his element when he's with you when you're having a panic attack.

He's not good at being comforting, and he barely knows what to do when he has a panic attack, so the first time it happens he completely freezes up.

He might even let someone else front to help you out instead of him.

After a while he gets better at keeping up with your triggers, and while he remains pretty awful at being comforting, he's good at grounding you.

He's glad sometimes that being there is enough sometimes, he doesn't know what he'd do if it wasn't.

"Sorry I can't do more..." he said one day.

You smile at him "You being here is enough sometimes."

Scott

Scott is also somewhat of a wreck I would imagine.

Growing up fairly isolated on a farm he's understandably really rough with being intune with people's emotions, he's not really all that good at reading you. Or anyone for that matter.

The first few times, he's shocked everytime.

What could be making you feel like this? He had no idea.

He would definitely need a list of all of your triggers, you have to tell him what helps you and what doesn't outright. Scott doesn't really like playing guessing games, especially when it comes to your safety and comfort.

Clear communication becomes pretty important for the two of you in all honesty, and the two of you work at it all the time.

Eventually he gets better at serving you during panic attacks, or meltdowns, he knows what to do after a little while.

Again I would think he's really good at protecting, so I think he's super good at keeping people away when he sees you're overstimulated.

"Don't touch them!" he huffed when someone was trying to tap you to get your attention.

Overall, he's really really trying for you, and knowing that is comfort enough.

Alejandro

It's no secret that Alejandro is very intune with people, just one of his many skills.

So he can tell right away from his very first meeting you, any loud noises, bright lights, things like that just don't mix well with you.

He steers clear of them when around you, always guiding you more towards quieter, much calmer and secluded dates.

When driving he turns the music down, and makes sure that all audio input looks like its helping you and not harming you.

Plus I feel like (and this is totally me projecting btw) he would carry around stim toys for you to distract yourself with, and headphones for when things are a lot.

But again, sometimes things just happen, and try as he might to protect you, it's not always possible.

He can always tell when things are getting to be a lot for you, he's good at reading everyone but you in specific.

He's really good at covering for you, if someone is asking where you are, or needs/wants to talk to you when you need to be alone he'll keep them away from you.

He'll spend as much time as you need helping you.

"Are you feeling better mi amor?" He would ask.

"Almost-" you said, voice a little course and shaky "-sorry," you said softly.

"Don't apologize, I don't mind at all."

Alejandro can be really nurturing when he wants to be.

He might deny it, deny it to the ends of the earth but he's very good at taking care of you.

Heyyyyy whats uppppp the brain worms have hit once again for a different au. Shadow retires and starts running a cat cafe, that's it that's the au. More info under the cut if you'd like to read about it hehe.

After some event Shadow gets to retire but now that he has all this free time as he is essentially barred from joining any further missions he's been incredibly bored. So what is a guy to do other than open up a little cat rescue and well, one thing leads to another and now it's a full blown cafe with a few permanent residents.

The cafe is called Midnight Hour since it tends to be one of the few places still open past midnight. The cat portion closes earlier than the cafe but Shadow doesn't mind running the place into the wee hours of the night. It's been calming form him after all. He's managed to get something sorted out with Vanilla and Cream as well where he can sell their pastries and any profits go towards taking care of the cats.

The gang are all regulars and most of them have adopted a cat from the cafe though for anyone who can't bring a cat home Shadow decides that they can become a permanent resident of the cafe. His own cat, Mari, is very feisty. She does NOT like any other mobian or human besides Shadow and is constantly following him around and getting underfoot. Sunny is a very chill cat, he lose to sunbathe and play and is generally a calming presence for the other cats in the cafe. Sonic took a liking to him almost immediately and so he was the second cat to call the cafe a home. Tiramisu followed suit as Silver visited one time when he could. The two bonded pretty quickly as Tiramisu almost perfectly matches Silver's energy and love of exploring. The three cats get along great even if they are prone to causing Shadow some kind of headache every now and then.

Knuckles adopts several cats to keep him company on Angel Island. They end up befriending the chao and... well... the chaos energy there mind of mutates them a little so each have funky markings or colors but the cats seem to be happy so he just doesn't bring it up.

Amy helps run the social media page for the cafe in her free time. She ends up adopting two white cats called Strawberry and Shortcake who are a bonded pair of siblings. They live with her and are treated to a life of luxury.

I have a few plot lines I want to explore in this au such as how Shadow and Mari become friends, some of Sunny and Sonic's adventures as well as how the cats on Angel Island are doing. There isn't any ship content planned for this yet but we'll see where it goes. There are some cute moments I want to write out between Sonic and Shadow when it comes to adopting/taking care of Sunny.

I watched Castlevania: Nocturne the otger day and liked it a lot less than you seemed to, so I want to hear a more detailed opinion if you have one. Am I in the wrong to think it was more shounen and less "deep" in some way?

I'd say it's definitely more shounen. Introducing the "Richter can't do magic because unresolved trauma" thing right from the jump meant a Believing In Yourself powerup was pretty much inevitable, but I liked the execution of that scene enough that I didn't mind much.

It doesn't quite have the backbone of the original Castlevania, which was grounded so strongly in Dracula's apocalyptic grief - a motivation the audience is directed to find deeply understandable from minute one - that it gave the characters a solid thematic core to play off of. This let the writing stay pretty tight by letting Trevor serve as a foiling mirror for Dracula in their mutual disgust with the failures of human kindness, Sypha for Lisa in their altruistic use of their knowledge and their vilification for "witchcraft", and Alucard in the middle torn between worlds.

Nocturne is more loose and character-driven, but it still has a core theme - the argument over "the natural order" and how that plays into a fear of change from those currently on top. However, Richter doesn't really have a horse in that race, since his motivation starts and ends at Kill Vampires while everyone around him is more complex, trying to overthrow the aristocracy and free the enslaved and such. I think this makes Richter feel a little less important than Trevor was, narratively, because he sort of stands apart from the core philosophical debate at play. It took me a few episodes to get what his deal was and start caring about his self-actualization, and I think he's definitely got further to go. Possibly Alucard's presence in season 2 will give him more to play off of.

I think Nocturne has several independently interesting villains instead of one really good villain, which is a complaint I also saw about Castlevania season 4 - I liked Death just fine, but he really didn't work for everyone, and the secondary villains like Saint Germaine were much more interesting and complex. Nocturne does, however, pull off something Castlevania didn't as much, which is most of the characters acting on their own internal consistent motivation without cleanly falling into the "good guy" or "bad guy" box, causing them to slide into and out of conflicts and alliances depending on the circumstances.

I feel like Bathory is kind of a weak core villain with almost no human-level motivations or ideas beyond General Villainy, and the extent of her development being a darkest hour shonen villain powerup/frieza transformation doesn't help much, which is why I'm kind of holding out hope that they just bite the bullet and bring back Dracula. He's the nemesis from the Castlevania games, and while they gave him and Lisa a happy ending in Castlevania season 4, I don't think they need to keep him on the bench forever. It's been 300 years, Lisa is almost certainly long dead again and Dracula doesn't need to be full Mad With Vengeance Burn Down The World to still be a credible problem in need of a little Belmonting.

I had fun with season 1 of Nocturne with the understanding that the first four-episode "season" of Castlevania wasn't representative of the final shape of the story either. Sypha's character, for instance, was very flat before she and the gang went on their season 2 bonding adventure, not much more than some banter and infodumps. I think Nocturne did solid setup of the cast and the theme they'll be unpacking, and it has lots of room to explore these characters in interesting ways once they energy-ball-tennis Bathory out of the way first.

Thoughts on Dune: Part Two

General Impression: I adored this movie from start to finish. Having just rewatched Part One a week ago, it felt like a seamless transition hopping back into the story. The score, the set design, the costumes, all of it was impeccable.

Chani: her character arc was obviously the biggest deviation from the book, and although I felt a lot of surprise watching it unfold, I think some reflection has left me alright with it. I've admittedly only read Dune and Dune: Messiah, but both books are clearly meant to illustrate the dangers of religious fanaticism and the ways that religion and prophecy can be manipulated and utilized as a tool for oppression. While these ideas can (hopefully) be discerned fairly clearly by the reader, I think it makes sense to have an audible voice of dissent in a film adaptation, particularly from someone among the Fremen. The only concern I have is wondering how Denis will handle Dune: Messiah, since the plot sort of hinges on Paul and Chani being together. But I guess that's a worry for later.

MY BOY MUAD'DIB: Timothee is just so utterly perfect for this role, I genuinely could not imagine anyone else doing it with such grace and gravitas. Seeing the gradual spiral of innocent teenager to reluctant leader to religious icon was heart-wrenching. Paul has honestly become one of my favorite fictional characters because his story is so complex and layered with tragedy. He's simultaneously a product of manipulation and coercion, and an angry young man seeking revenge against those who have hurt him. He lacks agency in many ways, yet he still makes decisions that lead to so much destruction. He tries so so hard to avoid the holy war, but it becomes an inevitability he can't escape. Reading Dune: Messiah for the first time a few weeks ago really helped me to understand how the prophecy controlled him as much as he used it to control others. I could literally give a ted talk on this, and how it's such a fascinating take on the messiah figure trope.

Jessica: I saw an article recently where I think Denis called Jessica "the puppetmaster," and I think that's very fitting for her depiction in this movie. I like how it openly shows the manipulation tactics of the Bene Gesserit, particularly how they prey upon the "vulnerable" Fremen first. Rebecca did a fantastic job giving the creep factor.

Feyd-Rautha: I still don't know why Denis had a vendetta against Harkonnen eyebrows, but I guess it was cool? I LOVED the black and white lighting on Giedi Prime, and the arena scene was SO. GOOD. Denis really went for it. Feyd's accent caught me off guard a few times, but overall I think the ruthless and brutal nature of the character really shined through. He's the antithesis to Paul, and I think Denis captured that theme well enough.

I thought all the other characters were well done too. Stilgar was maybe a touch too comic relief-y at times, but nothing catastrophic. Gurney was great, but I would have liked at least one more baliset scene :(

Things we missed: I'm a little bummed we didn't get Harah. I know the movie was already pretty stuffed, but I honestly thought they could have used the actress that played Chani's friend (I can't remember if they ever mention her name). Even if the idea of Paul "acquiring" her was a little icky, they could have done something else with her character at least. I was also sad they didn't do the full funeral scene with Jamis, but oh well. I think the greater omission was Thufir Hawat, but again I can see why they chose to cut him. I just think the dynamic between the Baron and Feyd-Rautha had a lot more friction in the book, mostly because of Thufir conspiring them both against each other.

I'm honestly not upset we didn't get to see freaky-toddler Alia. I was excited for Anya though!

Overall, I really loved this film. No adaptation can get every detail perfect, but I can see the ways that Denis and the actors adored this story and wanted to tell it in a powerful way. I thought the themes stayed true to the book, and I'm really hopeful we get Part Three!

Jing Yuan tries his best to not have any sort of fights with you. What's the point when many things can be solved simply by talking it out? Yes, he understands that you can get angry and he'll listen to you vent it out at him until you calm down. No argument needed.

Gentle

One of the most gentle men you could meet. Every one of his touches are like feathers on your skin and his kisses are so soft that they tickle.

Hugs

A great hugger, he enjoys them. Other than kissing you, it's one of his go to greetings. He loves to pull you into his chest and just give you a smile at whatever expression you may be making.

Impression

He likely had seem you from afar before and never approached you since he had no need to. If you approached him, he'd gladly offer his help if needed. He didn't have much of an impression on you at first though.

Jealousy

Jing Yuan is the General, he shouldn't have to be jealous when many already know that you're taken. Although, he can get a bit jealous if you have spent a little more time with someone that him.

Kisses

Gentle and soft are the two best words to describe them. Anywhere on your face, always just tickling you when he gives you a light kiss on your cheek or the soft push of his lips onto yours makes you both smile contently.

Little Things

He has a vast array of nicknames he could call you and will use the one that fits the best. He'll try nearly everything he can think of until one just clicks. Sometimes, it'll change depending on his tone of voice as well, like if he were to tease you.

Open

Jing Yuan is pretty open with you. He'll tell you about his day if you ask and will try his best not to hide anything from you unless it is absolutely necessary.

Patience

He has the highest levels of patience with you. He'll take everything as slow or as fast as you'd like it. You've never kissed anyone before? Well, just let him know when you're ready to try it out. He'll be waiting for you.

Quirks

He does tend to fall asleep at his desk a lot and seems to only wake up if you walk in. If someone else walks in, he likely won't stir but will wake right up if you walk in. It's a little suspicious..

Romance

It comes quite naturally to him. He knows how to be romantic and it always gets you to feel butterflies in your stomach and a smile on your face. Flowers with a note attached are commonly left for you when he won't be able to see you later in the day.

Security

He is very protective over you. You're his and he protects you from dangers. He isn't protective to the point that it's overbearing but, he will protect you lots more than you think he is.

Try

Jing Yuan tries his absolute best to make everything work out and make sure that your comfortable with him. What kind of partner would he be if he didn't give the relationship any effort at all?

Ugly

He knows he's not home a lot to be able to give you the attention you deserve and he hates it. He'd like to be home more for you and just to simply relax and bask in the endless affection you both give and receive from him.

Vanity

As the esteemed General, he has to keep up his appearance even when it doesn't seem like he cares much about it. He spends a great deal of the morning getting ready.

Whole

He feels so much better knowing that you're safely beside him where nothing can harm you. He's not sure what he'd do with himself if he didn't have you in his life.

Yuck

If you can't be flexible with his schedule and work, he's not sure how the relationship will work out. He'd like for his s/o to be patient and understand that he is the General and has duties to attend to (even if he doesn't always attend to them..).

Zzz

Jing Yuan can fall asleep with ease. He doesn't mind staying up until you fall asleep or if you were to wake him up in the middle of the night because you can't sleep. He'll be there to help since he's able to fall asleep so quickly.

Medic

Medic thinks that you're.. terrifyingly amazing.

One of the things he likes about you is how well you used your weapon during battlefield and having decent combat skills. Though he's amazed, he can't help but feel a little threatened by your past occupation. That you used to worked as a bounty hunter.

Well to be precise, he isn't exactly sure if you still took up to that job during your free time but it scares him abit nonetheless. Because back when he hadn't work for Mann Co yet, he used do some malpractice schemes (he still does) which later on sets several bounties on his head.

At some point, he even suspects that you'd kill him because someone contacts you to do so or something. But he'll get over his small paranoia shortly after some reassurance from you. Plus you always looked out for him too in the battlefield! It's honestly a nice small change for him.

So, he's pretty alright with a darling who's a bounty hunter, just please don't joke/pretend that you're going kill him in someone's favor. He's probably going to feel betrayed and panic.

Sniper

Finally a worthy opponent!

In all seriousness, he finds the fact that you used to work as a bounty hunter quite intriguing. He also likes the way you swing your gun and your aim is pretty good.

And for once, he's actually the one who approachs you. At first the talk may ended shortly due to your hesitancy which made sniper feel awkward and bit stupid for asking. Though if you did talk more to him he's even more delighted to hear more of your stories.

After Sniper hears a few of your past experiences he totally understands your doubts, it's not easy working in this kind of job where betrayals and literal backstabbing is a certain thing and always lurking.

Sniper also enjoys when you engage him in some sort of competetion involving his hunting skills. It's one of his favorite way of bonding

Maybe you can learn a trick or two from each other aswell.

Scout

Honestly Scout just thinks it's sort of annoying at first glance?

He thinks it's more a hobby of yours rather than an actual job so he might think you're showing off or something akin to that, especially with your cold persona towards the others.

He might even compete with you during battle even if you didn't even ask for it-

You might be annoyed that he's always there to steal your kill yet, weirdly you also found it amusing that he likes to be busy monologuing of how "awesome and better his skills are" before you shoot down an enemy just behind him. His yelp and the look on his face thinking you were about to aim at him made you laugh.

Soon enough you two would drink soda together and throw jokes at each other when passing.

Will get flirty during these times and sometimes even gets flustered when you flirt back your own way.

A/N: Thanks for the request! I know getting the requests (and content in general) has been slow lately and I appreciate y'all for bearing with me. Also, Happy New Year!

Chan:

This man is going to be ECSTATIC when you ask him to move in with him. He has honestly been waiting for this day. With that said, if he is still living in the dorm full time when you ask him, he will still continue to live there part time, especially during long weeks since it is nearer to work and allows him to collaborate with the members better.

But, he will come home to you as much as possible. While he is normally a very organized person, he will get a bit excited and start sending you apartment listings without important features you would've talked about (such as if they don't allow pets, outside your budget, etc.). Don't worry, he'll calm down after a few days lol.

Minho:

Honestly, Minho will be pretty chill as long as you agree to having cats and are okay with his crazy schedule. He will low key wonder what took so long. Minho will also be so helpful when you're actually moving by carrying all of the heavy things and making sure you remember to take a break and eat.

He will be secretly touched that you want to take this step with him and will probably express it in some way you will only realize later. I also wouldn't be surprised if he ends up convincing you to let him pay the majority of the rent, or even all of it.

Changbin:

Will immediately do two things: 1). Act cute 2). Be surprised. No matter how long you have been with Changbin or how stable your relationship is, these sorts of gestures that indicate an evolution in the relationship will always shock him.

While Changbin's Leo sun makes him outwardly confident, he secretly hides a lot of insecurity and uncertainty. So, when you ask him to move in, and once he realizes you're serious, he'll pull you off the ground and into a hug. On move in day, he definitely wears a tank top just to tease you.

Hyunjin:

I imagine it will happen fairly casually and Hyunjin will be shy and cute as he says yes. I mean, he sorta already lives with you anyway based on how much time he already spends at your place. Will shyly ask for a space so he can paint and is SO happy when you say yes. He isn't used to living with anyone other than the members or his parents, so when you easily let him have an extra bedroom for his art, he thinks this is the best thing he's ever done.

Despite being an introvert, he seems like the type to throw a house warming party once the apartment is immaculately decorated with his and other's art. Also, he will have to introduce Kkami to space, of course.

Jisung:

Like Changbin, he's a little shocked, but eager to accept. Ngl, he does get a little anxious when he considers how he will work with the members and definitely wants a place close to the current dorm so that he can maintain a good work/life balance.

However, once you actually get a place and moved in, he is going to be so happy. Will stay up all night with you just so he can enjoy spending time with you in a space that is just for you two.

Felix:

Felix may ask before you get the chance. He can't imagine anything better than getting to live with you. Like Hyunjin, he will also take decorating the apartment extremely seriously. You probably won't even need to lift a finger in that regard.

He does feel a bit weird without the members at first and will go back to the dorm on nights you're out of town. Felix will also always come home to you at night, even if it's late.

Seungmin:

You decide to broach the subject with Seungmin gradually. It's not that you're afraid he will say no, he just tends to take these sorts of things seriously and would probably want to be the one to ask. Still, you begin hinting that your lease is ending a few months before it actually does. When you finally ask, there is little hesitation. In fact, he took your hints so well, he already has a list of apartments saved.

That said, Seungmin will insist on making the deposit and buying any new furniture. It's not that he doesn't respect that you make your own money and enough to make occasional big purchases, but it just makes the most sense from his point of view.

Jeongin:

Jeongin may be among the most hesitant to move in with you. It's not exactly that he doesn't want to, it's just that he will definitely miss the members. Still, when he agrees and you start making plans, he will become excited.

He's another budding interior designer and will spend literally hours picking out everything from the right color of curtains to the perfect bedspread. Once you get moved in, he realizes his worries were baseless as he actually enjoys the quiet and getting to see you as soon as he wakes up.

wyllstarion thoughts + trans!Wyll being on his period.... Astarion definitely notices that Wyll is in pain and even if he didn't notice at first, he would once he smelled blood, he is a vampire after all, if someone is bleeding he's bound to notice pretty quickly. at first he's worried that Wyll, being the self-sacrificing fool that he is, got injured somehow and won't tell anyone. eventually his concern gets the better of him and he all but corners Wyll about it some time when they're alone, which leads to Wyll having to somewhat awkwardly having to explain that no, he's not injured, just menstruating. (after finding out what was really going on Astarion almost feels guilty about forcing Wyll to tell him, but gods damn it he was worried ok!) (cont. under the cut bc this got kinda long. again.)

Wyll tries to reassure Astarion that he's fine "I've been dealing with this since I was 9, I know how to handle it." of course "handling it" for Wyll mostly means just gritting his teeth and baring it. Astarion continues to be concerned of course, growing even more concerned every time he noticed Wyll breath hitch, subtly bracing himself against something or clutching his lower stomach as a particularly bad cramp hit him. at some point Astarion has enough of watching Wyll just suffer through it, he shows up at Wyll tent with several herbal medicines for pain (courtesy of Halsin, probably) and some chocolates (Wyll's not sure how he managed to obtain those) "chocolate is good for... this sort of thing, if I'm not mistaken?" Wyll is deeply touched, nearly moved to tears, but is still a tad hesitant to accept, so unused to being on the receiving end of such caring gestures. "you don't have to take care of me, you know. not that I'm not grateful for the gesture of course."

"oh of course, since you were doing such a fine job by yourself by... doing nothing about it and simply pushing through the pain, I assume? I mean, it's been nearly ten minutes since the last time you nearly doubled over in pain, clearly you're just fine." Astarion's voice drips with sarcasm, though there's a look in his eyes that betrays his genuine concern.

Wyll can't help but chuckle a bit sheepishly, knowing Astarion has a point, "you manage to see right through me, it seems." another particularly bad cramp promptly reminds him just how right Astarion is. Astarion shoves the medicine and chocolate towards him and finally he accepts. "thank you. truly."

"don't mention it. I mean that, I do have a reputation to uphold, you know."

Wyll huffs out a laugh at that. "would you mind sticking around for a little while?" Wyll asks after a moment, his demeanor suddenly turning sheepish again, "I'd appreciate the company, and the distraction, at least until the medicine takes effect."

"of course," Astarion says, a bit softer than he intended but he finds he doesn't regret it when he sees Wyll's posture relax, none the less he adds with a teasing lilt "I have to make sure you actually take the medicine I got for you, after all."

"what, don't you trust me?"

"trust you in general? obviously. trust you to not be a self-sacrificing idiot? not in the slightest."

"fair enough, I suppose." Wyll tries to ignore the warmth spreading through his chest, with little success, and hopes it doesn't spread to his cheeks. the thought that Astarion trusts him will be echoing through his mind for days to come, he's sure of it.

(in the end Astarion spends most of the night in Wyll's tent, even after the man had fallen asleep, before finally seeing fit to retire to his own bedroll with more reluctance than he'll ever admit.)

You guys really wanna know MORE!? AHH I have had no one to talk about my beloved Doe with AH! Sorry sorry! I'm done gushing! Genuinely just happy to talk about them.

John Doe absolutely goes by he/they pronouns. No ya'll can't take this from me.

Even in their female form which is often referred to as "Jane Doe", I feel like that would just piss them off. I think just bc he changes his presentation doesn't mean you get to misgender them. I think despite presentation changes he'd still be himself and still go by John Doe.

So Regular Guys are pretty much pests in the Uncanny Valley. John Doe's eyes are kinda of explained in House Hunted 2 that he has to physically split his eye in half so he blends in. Personally, I think that's got to be uncomfortable all the time, so at home he does go from two eyes to one eye since he feels comfortable about it.

Many would think he's controlling which I think he can be occasionally, but not on purpose. Due to some of the things he has been through all alone, I think he views himself being controlling as protecting you, and while yeah he's a whole yandere I think he's more than willing to hear you out on making him comfortable while also accommodating your- freewill lol.

He hisses at people.

He stares at you when you sleep. There is no way ya'll convince me otherwise.

He doesn't require sleep but understands that you prefer to snuggle in bed with him at night.

He hates any of your plushies. He thinks if you hug them, you like them more than him- but he won't throw them away. He likes how soft they are.

He stutters a lot when trying to explain his feelings to you. He isn't used to people viewing him as a person over a pest.

Despite being a yandere, he is oddly good at communication if you teach him what it is and how to understand boundaries. He's going to slip up and you gotta understand that when going into the relationship.

He just orders takeout a lot. I have a weird headcanon that Regular Guys can make things from thin air so when he orders food he hands them money he just conjures. ((This man accidentally inflates the economy one eldritch magic dollar at a time.))

When he gets all hyper-realistic, he doesn't acknowledge it as "scary" to him he's sort of blind to it happening. While yes he is physically doing it, he doesn't see it so he just- kinda thinks you're being mean to him if you freak out. I think he's a visual learner so cues such as covering your eyes help him understand you're just uncomfortable, but don't love him any less.

He lets you pet his hair and despite the curls it never knots or tangles. Like it never knots up.

He isn't good with animals. Except crows love him. He likes crows.

He does try to clutter your home- and uh that's gonna require you explaining to him that humans need clean spaces to live.

Did I mention he's jealous? However, he can be really subtle about it. He just glares or waits till you turn to go hyper-realistic on someone.

He has an existential crisis in one breath, but in the next will ask you to pass the popcorn. (he is unwell)

For my FNAF bitches, he would listen to your info dump about the FNAF lore any day of the week. Any kind of hyperfixation or special interest of yours he will listen to you talk about it. He can keep up with however you talk and will never ask you to speed up slow down or stop talking. He just likes you.

He can help with chores, water CANNOT be involved.

In his Lil' Doe form (I HAVE DIBS ON THE NICKNAME >XP), he takes dust baths, but because he isn't human he doesn't have to take traditional showers. He can't too or his form does break down so please take care of him.

Despite him hating you taking showers, he learns to accept it due to the fact you explain it is a health thing. He realizes a human being is much more complex than a Regular Guy physically and requires more care than a dust bath.

He makes sure you eat. If you don't eat he becomes paranoid you will die.

Has he killed people for you? Yep.

Some Tang-y asks;

Both asks referencing; this previous about Tang realising his buddies are the Monkey King and the Six Eared Macaque + he's the godfather to their upcoming baby.

Tang is freaking tf out after the shock/fainting wears off. His academic career has revolved around the Journey to the West and connected mythology. Even as a lowly libarian who does mythology talks on the side, even he recognises that this is historical Iridium. He has *The People Who Were There* in his apartment (eating his chips)!!

Afterwards he has a moment of; "Oh gods, I've pretty much adopted the Monkey King." since he's been helping the monkeys learn how to read/write in modern chinese and generally giving Wukong life advice in the manner of a father-figure (all mid-twenty years of him).

And although he def shares all his secret wuxia and isekai fantasies with Macaque (fantasy nerd to theatre nerd communication); he certainly didn't expect to end up like This.

Tang knows he at least has a genetic link to the historical Tang dynasty - something he isn't really proud of since he's been kicked out by his parents. But with all the Monkey King stuff starting to pile up, he wonders...

Then he gets kidnapped by a firey toddler calling him "The Tang Monk", and is told to help out in a super specific ritual that requires the skill of an enlightened sage. Tang faints in the backseat of Red Son's mini-car when the penny drops. His frantic call to Pigsy straight afterwards is a babbling info-dump that sounds more like a cicada screaming.

Bonus ask!: Did Wukong *know* that Pigsy and Tang were reincarnations of his friends?

Sort of.

You see, after the Harbringer accidentally got sealed in Macaque (and the shadow monkey was still passed out); Wukong asked Guanyin to help him seek guidance from his old master - since he isn't exactly able to contact the Pure Lands himself. Guanyin tries calling up the Golden Cicada and... she appears to a confused, bleary-eyed Tang in the noodle shop at like 11pm. Even the bodhisattva is confused. Tang Sanzang/Tripitaka was supposed to be the last Golden Cicada incarnation. Tf is he hanging out on earth for?

Guanyin mentions this fact to SWK, and Wukong has a heart-stopping second of "Oh sweet buddha, Master is alive!!", before the goddess confirms otherwise. Wukong is super-confused, and a little disappointed, but really wants to seek out this new version of the GC even if for his own comfort. He's given a vague direction of where his master's soul is now residing, and the bodhisattva doesn't discourage him from following it. Wukong does hide his main reason for hiding in the city when Mac wakes up.

Eventually as the duo are ducking the sight of curious local demons/human (the meteorite and battle on the mountain def drew attention), Mac and Wukong bump into a strangely famililar face...

You see, after Tang literally glimpsed at the Goddess of Mercy, he became super-awake and rambled to Pigsy about his vision. Pigsy, despite being dismissive of most magic talk, thought that his suspicions of the meteor shower being a "sign" could be correct. The two went downstairs to eat/talk about what Tang's vision of Guanyin could mean.

Ironically, it's Pigsy who catches the monkeys walking down the street. He'd gone out to grab something from the convenience store and saw the two young, kinda skinny-looking, monkey demons arguing and trying to dodge the rain. The ginger-haired of the two shielding the darker-furred one with an old cape.

Pigsy has a moment of "No. No no no no. Good samaritan sh*t only gets you hurt." before he recognises something off about the two "kids" words. And with Tang's talk about having a vision of the Goddess of Mercy...

"Mihou": "This is all your fault!" "Wu": "How is it all my fault?!" "Mihou": "You put this... this thing in me! Now we've got no money, our magic isn't working, we can't go home, and we don't even have shelter for the night! I'm so..." *crying* "I have no idea what to do Wu..." "Wu", holding the other's face: "Hey, hey, it's ok Mihou. We'll figure this out." *presses foreheads together* "I won't let anything happen to you or the ki... guess it's too early at the moment. Egg, I guess?" *goofy, hopeful smile* "Mihou", sniffling: "You're so dumb."

They hear a cough beside them and turn. Wukong looks at the face illuminated by the neon of the storefront like its wearing a halo. It can't be!

Pigsy, holding grocery bags: "Hey... you kids sound like you're in a tough spot right now. If you need a roof over your head 'til the rain eases off, my restaurant is around the corner. Door's opened either way."

Wukong happily jumps at the offer, seeing the familiar glow of his pilgrim brother's soul resting warmly in the cook's body. Macaque is super sus of the situation; he kinda recognises the face infront of him but he just knows it isn't Zhu Bajie. The tired, sincere look on the demon's face is far too unalike the greedy gluttonous fool he'd seen getting his King into so much trouble. Just for now will he trust only his instincts - which at the moment wish for him to get dry.

Wukong sees it as a sign from the Buddha. Clearly someone is looking out for them. Even if this isn't Zhu Bajie, and the man inside the noodle shop isn't his master, then something in the Pure Lands or Diyu has shifted to allow them to reunite in this life - just in time for the King's heir responsibility to be brought into the world.

And then Pigsy ruffles his hair? Calls him "kid"? And then Tang is helping him with his writing? And telling him all the stories he's heard a million times in a way thats never boring?

Wukong feels queasy in a good way. He doesn't know how to describe it. He cries when he sees the silly mock shop logo he drew pinned to the corkboard by the kitchen - pinned amongst the pig-chef's most prized moments in his cooking journey. He doesn't know why he's crying but it feels like something he's been left out of for so long... thats the moment he decides that Pigsy and Tang (+Sandy) would be the godparents of the Egg. He just knows they'd all be great parents cus they already are.

Definitely 29 (Wake Up!) with Hobie getting tickled awake one too many times by Gwen, Pavitr, and/or Miles. I admit I wouldn't be able to pick just one.

I think it'd just be cute to see 7 (Flustered) with Miles and Gwen. Probably with her teasing and riling him up playfully, only for him to turn the tables when he finds out she's ticklish.

17 (Interrogation) with Pavitr trying and probably failing to keep a secret--probably the candy stash--from at least one of the others. I think it'd most likely be Hobie.

I'm tempted to say 10 (Ghost) with Lee Gwen, but I admit I don't have anything more specific than Ghost-Spider jokes. >w<

Ler: Miles

Summary: Miles and Gwen step away for a peaceful moment to themselves. At least, that's what he thought before Gwen pokes fun and teases him. Lucky for him, he finds the perfect way to retaliate.

Things across the Spiderverse had been…well, interesting. Since they’d sorted out the canon event fiascos, Miles had been brought into the new Society. They had obviously worked out some serious issues, and Miguel was forced into Anger Management with Dr. Spidey. Two broken fainting couches later, progress was pretty much on the rise. Overall, things were getting better. Better, and pretty chaotic.

Miles was going on at least two missions a day, both in and out of his dimension. The dimension he visited most, of course, was Gwen’s. He was in her dimension almost every day, either helping out with a villain or just grabbing some pizza or coffee. She had helped him get his grades up, even though his Spanish was kinda lacking. These visits were squeezed in between missions, homework, lectures, chores, and just general life stuff. Needless to say, he was relieved to have a day both off from Society work, school and home chores. 

Miles swung through the water-color streets of Earth-65, heading for Gwen’s place. Things had gotten easier with seeing her as well. Now that her dad knows, he can show up in his suit without issue. Finding her window open, he used his webs to sling-shot himself through the opening. Luckily, he went right through, skillfully landing on her bed. Good thing, too; she was right there, that would’ve been embarrassing. The blonde sat nearby in front of her drumset, rolling her eyes at nis entrance.

“Okay then, showoff. Gimme a sec to grab my bag; coffee as usual?” She set her sticks down, adjusting her beanie as she rooted through one of her doom-boxes for a specific bracelet. She found it, snapping the sunflower cord bracelet on and pulling off her hoodie, revealing her spider suit. Gwen had been dressed and pretty much ready to go before he even got there. Slinging her cross-body backpack on, she pulled her mask over her face and was good to go.

“Yeah, that’s cool. Was thinking of going somewhere quiet afterwards, if you wanna.” She hummed at the thought, nodding. “Sounds good to me. City’s actually been peaceful today, it’s kinda unsettling.” Miles just chuckled and gripped the window sill. He was glad her day had been as calm as his; they would have no problems getting some alone time together.

Miles leaned back, letting himself fall a few feet out her window before shooting out a web to catch himself. Gwen copied the action, adding a bit of flair with a twist and flip. He laughed, feeling the wind whip through the breathable fabric of his suit as he swung. 

They eventually reached the cafe, the kind barista more than used to seeing the two heroes suited-up and craving a caffeine fix. He knew their orders by heart, always whipping up their favorite pick-me-ups whenever he saw them enter. The man grabbed their drinks, bidding them goodbye as they swung away from the shop.

Finally, the pair made it to their quiet spot, resting atop a tower overlooking one of Gwen’s favorite parks. Just out of the way enough for them to safely unmask. They both pulled off their masks, taking long sips of their coffees. Miles hummed happily, feeling the heat warm him and the caffeine wake him up. “Mmm, I love that cafe. The guy’s so nice, ya know?” 

Gwen just chuckled, loving the smile that graced his lips. The drummer scooted closer, just about touching shoulders with her “friend”. “Yeah, think we’re his favorites. I’ll have to bring a nicer tip next time, he deserves it.” She sipped her own, loving the sweeter taste of her iced coffee. She watched as his cheeks warmed a bit, both from the heat of the coffee and her proximity. “You’re cute, you know that?”

That only made his blush darken, the reddish-pink now visible on his dark cheeks. “Shut it, you’ve got no room to talk.” He had meant for it to sound confident, though his voice was a bit higher than he would’ve liked. Stupid feelings…

No way was she stopping there. It was way too fun to tease the boy, getting the blushy reactions and shaky huffs from her words. “But it’s true, flower. Look, you’re blushing right now!” Her tone was playful and sweet, just the right mix of the two so she didn’t sound too flirty. Gwen brought her hand close to his face, playfully poking his cheeks.

He almost choked on his sip of coffee, swatting at her hand and trying to keep his thoughts in check. Flower? He hadn’t heard that one yet, though he definitely didn’t mind it. Still, he had an image to protect, however tattered and damaged it may have been. “Ugh, stop it!”

The growing blush on his face was possibly the cutest thing she’d seen all day. It was so easy to get to him, she had to abuse that fact every chance she got. “Neh, that’s just a you problem. Get less cute and I won’t have to call you out on it.”

Okay, now she’s trying to get me to blush… Miles shoved at her face, his palm pressing into her nose as he tried to put a little space between his blushing face and hers. Gwen just snickered, loving the reactions she was getting. “Wow, I finally have you tongue-tied, huh? Never thought the day would come, I’m kinda scared.”

He laughed a bit at that, finding her teases just a little funny. She yelped as he shoved her face away, lightly biting his hand just to be a gremlin. He definitely didn’t yelp, and he had absolutely no increase of any red coloring on his cheeks. His tone was a sad attempt at a tease, sounding more whiny than anything. “S-seriously, Gwanda?”

Gwen snorted at the silly name, once again reminded that Miles’s calling was definitely visual arts, not writing. “You’re so good at drawing, yet so bad at coming up with decent excuse stuff. How does that even work, blossom?” Her hand moved up, flicking his thick hair.

“Hey, watch the ‘do!” He grabbed her wrist, poking her now-exposed side. He had expected a grunt or groan, but not the strangled yelp the action received. His memories wandered to a few days prior, where Pavitr had been goofing around with Gwen. And, Pav being Pav, had decided to start something he couldn’t finish. The two had gotten into a tickle fight, which Miles definitely didn’t stick around to watch. Nevertheless, he had a perfect idea on how to retaliate to her teasing. 

Smirking, Miles tugged her arm up further, cupping the back of her head with his hand as he pinned her to the concrete rooftop. Once he was sure she wouldn’t hurt herself, he gathered both her wrists above her head, webbing them in place. Gwen wasn’t going anywhere.

“Mihiles- Miles wait!” The blonde squirmed and wriggled, trying to break the webs. Her efforts were fruitless, the silky material seemingly rooted in place. Gwen would apologize, but she wasn’t really sorry for anything. He was cute, it was her job to call him on it.

Miles smirked down at her, his cheeks still bearing a small amount of the rosy hue. “Yeah, don’t think so. Time for a taste of your own medicine!"

His fingers dug into her stomach, poking and pinching the tiny bit of pudge below her belly button. She squealed, not expecting the immediate attack on such a ticklish spot. “GYAA- MIHIHILES! NOHOHO!” 

Her laughter was honestly adorable, wild and happy as she squirmed around. Miles couldn’t help the way his cheeks heated back up, the red color once again burning his rich complexion. Gwen was too lost in laughter to notice, her eyes scrunched tight in mirth. “COHOME OHOHON! IHI- I DIHIDN’T DOHO THIHIHIS!”

That was true, though she did tease him. Her words snapped him out of his little trance, a smirk gracing his lips. “Hmm. Sounds like a you problem, Gwen.” She groaned through her laughter, hearing him quote her earlier sass. “DOHON’T USE MY WOHOHORDS AGAINST MEHEHEEE!” The end was a bit whinier than she would’ve liked, but it got the point across. 

“You deserve it. But fiiiine, I’ll move.” Miles moved up to her ribs, scratching between each bone. Her form-fitting spider suit offered little to no protection, and she had a good hour before the webs naturally dissolved. Miles would obviously stop way before then. Still, she knew that the only way out of this was through him. 

The ribs were, thankfully, not as bad as her stomach. Gwen’s loud laughter dwindled down to bubbly giggles, her arms straining as she tugged at the webs. “M-Mihihiles! Thihis is soho nohohot fahahahair!” 

Damn, why did her laugh have to be so cute? It didn’t matter if it was loud or squeaky, her happy sounds always put a smile on his face and a blush on his cheeks. Gwen would’ve teased him, but she was a bit busy giggling her head off at the moment. Maybe he could use his flustered dilemma to his advantage. “And you said I was cute. Look’it you, you’re giggling as much as Mayday.”

Gwen felt her own cheeks getting pink, the silly teases, tickles, and Miles’s smile was flustering her a bit more than she’d like to admit. She completely deserved it, but still. The tickling wasn’t inherently unbearable, though it definitely got to her. Mainly, it was Miles. His warm yet mischievous smile, dumb teases, nimble fingers and rosy cheeks were melting her brain to a giddy soup. “Shuhut ihihit!”

The park was quiet, Gwen’s silly sounds filling the otherwise peaceful air. From the rooftop, nobody could really hear them, save for a few loud squeals or squeaks. It was just the birds, Miles, Gwen and her lively giggling.

Soon enough, Gwen’s cheeks grew sore, her eyes slightly watering at the edges. Her bright red face was telling enough, a clear signal that it was time to stop. Miles stilled his fingers, only a bit dissapointed he didn’t get to try many spots. He’d have plenty of time later. “You alive down there?”

She grumbled some choice words, burying her blushing face in her shoulder. Miles was a bit better off, his own blush now a faint glow. “That’s a solid maybe.” He chuckled, tearing the webbing and freeing his fellow spider person’s hands. Gwen immediately hugged herself, rubbing at her tingling ribs. “You’re free, giggles~”

That earned him a foot to the hip. His spider sense had warned him in advance, though he let her get the small hit in. Miles raised his hands in defeat, struggling not to laugh. “Ohokay, okay! I’m done, promise.”

“Youhu suck, Morales!” Gwen finally sat back up, fully recovered from his attack. A small blush still tinted her cheeks, though neither of them dared mention it. He did, however, want to joke around a bit. “Only when you need it.”

Another foot to the hip, though he dodged it that time. The other hero got to her feet, wobbling slightly before she found her footing. Experimentally shooting out a web, she swung a few feet, giving herself permission to swing around the city again. Her next web shot was aimed at Miles, nailing him in the chest and pulling him closer. “You’re lucky you didn’t kill me! Could’ve left the whole city in shambles.”

He just laughed, feeling the butterflies swarm in his stomach at the sudden closeness. Another joke was attempted, though it sounded more bashful than anything. “At least you’re pretty when you giggle. Hell’uva way to go out, all adorable blushes and cute smilin’.” 

Gwen bit her lip, his words echoing through his head. Adorable, cute, pretty... Her eyes darted to his full lips, imagining a common scenario that played through her head more times than she was willing to admit around the boy. It was then when she noticed just how close she’d tugged Miles in. Awkwardly chuckling, she looked away, releasing the web tethered to his chest and pulling her mussed up hair back. “Whatever, smiles. You’re worse than I am, a stoplight could get jealous of your blushes.”

He rolled his eyes, tugging the black fabirc of his mask snugly over his face. It did little to hide his emotions though, the expressive bug-eyes conveying his feelings just fine. They had brushed off the small moment, as they had hundreds of times before. Mutual pining would only take them so far, but neither was feeling bold enough to take any action right then. “Zip it. You should’a seen your face a few minutes ago, those cheeks were red as Peter’s suit.”

An empty coffee cup was chucked at his head, though he easily dodged and sent it soaring for the nearby park’s recycling bin. The playful banter continued, even as they left the park and started their patrol. Neither one of the spiderlings could get the happy, warm smiles off their faces as they spoke. Best slow day ever…

Miles wonders if this is how Julian feels every time a mission leaves him half-dead.

He can't stop pacing. Back and forth, back and forth, he's going to pace a ditch right through the cave floor at the rate he's going. He tried sitting and holding still, but that just made him feel like he was itchy under his skin, twitchy with nerves. So, pacing it is. Pacing and cursing how quiet it is.

Any other day he'd be grateful for the quiet. Today, though, he hates it. Because Julian isn't quiet, he isn't capable of being quiet, and right now he's dead silent.

Miles glances over. Julian is just as unconscious as he was last time he looked over, which was all of two minutes ago if he's being generous. Still and quiet, so goddamn quiet. He finds himself moving closer, just so he can make sure that Julian's chest is, in fact, still rising and falling.

And then he's kneeling down. He's checking the dressing over Julian's stomach. Again. He's not a doctor, he doesn't know what he would even be looking for here, but he's checking anyways. He can't help it. It makes him feel better.

The dressing is still clean. Miles is sure that's a good thing- that means he hasn't bled through it yet. Considering all he's had to work with is a dermal regenerator on the fritz and some bandages, he'd say that's pretty good. Sure, Julian might be able to save the entire station with less than that, but, well... Julian's the one who needs saving this time.

It was supposed to be a simple away mission. It's always supposed to be a simple away mission, really. They were delivering medical supplies to a Federation colony, helping them deal with a nasty outbreak of some sort of flu that Miles can't remember the name of. They were well on their way, spending the time arguing over who actually won their last game of darts, casual as can be.

And then they got shot down.

Miles didn't see who it was. Could've been Cardassians, could've been Maquis, could've been literally anybody this side of the Quadrant. All he knows is one second things were great, and the next his console was exploding and throwing him across the cockpit, and Julian was wrestling with the controls to aim them at the closest planet. He threw himself back into his seat and did his best to help, but there was no saving their landing. They crashed. Violently.

Miles woke up on the floor, bruised all over but still breathing. And Julian was hunched over the console, unmoving just like he is now. But there, he was awake. He was all-too awake, and he wasn't moving, because he'd been flung into the splintered console, and it was embedded deep in his gut.

He's never going to forget the sounds Julian let out as he pulled him off the console. It was a mercy he'd passed out right after, going limp and lifeless in Miles' arms the second he was free. Gave him a bloody heart attack, thinking for a brief second he'd just up and died, but it at least made it easy to gather Julian up in his arms and carry him out of the wreckage.

It's not a good situation. Their medical supplies was destroyed in the crash, and the medkit and all its contents were either damaged or broken beyond use. The dermal regenerator barely managed anything before it sparked out and nearly exploded in his hand. They've got a transmitter, at least, but it was damaged in the crash and he has to check it every few minutes to make sure it's still working.

And Julian won't wake up.

Miles' gaze travels up to Julian's face. Perfectly still, damn near peaceful, except there's a thin sheen across his forehead and he's pale under his skin. A pinch to his brows betrays the pain he's still in, even unconscious. The kit had one working hypo that he could find, and he'd given it to Julian without hesitation. He's not in the best shape himself, battered and bruised as he is, but that's all small potatoes compared to Julian.

It's probably a mercy that he's staying unconscious. Miles doesn't envy the pain he'd be in if he were awake. Still, there's a big, selfish part of him that wishes Julian was awake. Because then, at least, it wouldn't be quiet. He's never hated quiet before today. He'd be happy to never have to deal with complete silence ever again.

"I don't know if you can hear me," He says, mainly just to fill the space, "And I really hope you can't, because I'd never say this to you if you were awake, but... you're the best friend I've got, Julian. And I'm really not ready to let that end here," He admits, his voice quiet even though there's nobody else around, "Cause, y'know, we've got that holosuite reservation next week, and Quark won't consider your death grounds for a refund. And... I'd miss you, so there's that," God, this is hard. Julian's fucking unconscious and this is still so hard, "I'd... I'd really miss you, Julian, so... I guess what I'm saying is... you're not allowed to die," He reaches, like he's going to take Julian's hand, but comes up short, "You can't die. So, please don't. Die, that is." He ends up patting Julian's arm. It feels awkward and stiff, but anything else feels too much like he's saying goodbye, and he's really not trying to say goodbye right now.

"Is that..." Miles' head snaps up, and he finds himself meeting Julian's half-open eyes, "Is that... an order, Chief...?" He asks weakly, managing an obnoxious smile, even now.

"Oh, you bastard," Miles breathes, because yeah, of course Julian woke up in time to listen to that, "You right bastard. How much of that did you hear?" He asks.

Julian grins, blood painting his teeth. "Enough," He replies, like an asshole, "You'd... miss me?" He questions, looking far too smug for a man halfway to death.

"Absolutely not," Miles informs him, sniping purely out of habit and with no real heat behind his words, "But Keiko would miss you, and I hate to see Keiko upset, so I guess I need you to stay alive." He continues.

"How's it feel... knowing your wife would miss me?" Julian asks, still grinning like a smug clown.

"Don't push your luck, Julian," Miles tells him, with undeniable fondness, "It'd be far too easy to make it look like the crash killed you."

Julian croaks a laugh. And maybe this is the moment where Miles should say something heartfelt. Like how he actually would miss Julian, a whole hell of a lot. Or how glad he is that he's alive. Or how relieved he is to hear the sound of his voice. But Julian already knows those things, and spilling his heart out while Julian bleeds his guts out would feel way too much like they're having their final conversation. This banter, though, is familiar. It's them. And it lets him say we're going to get through this without actually saying it.

So, he doesn't say anything nice. Instead, he gets back into arguing about darts. Because then Julian is talking, and it isn't quiet anymore, and he can hide in the familiarity of their arguing and convince himself that everything's going to be ok.

(And it is. Miles has to kick the transmitter a few more times, but a rescue comes. Julian is fine, he won't even have a scar. And if Miles relents and begrudgingly admits, at last, that maybe Julian won their game, well... maybe that's his way of saying he's glad Julian's alright.)

I've seen your takes in eclipse, and as a new TSAMS fan I honestly agree, man's a cornered dog that everyone's been trying to put down ever since they learned of his existence. That said, do you know about any fic recs that actually explore the points you're making? I would appreciate if you share some! Or just tell me about an ao3 tag I could visit!

Sorry this took me a moment to get to! I’m terrible at not bookmarking things so I had to dig through the TSAMS tag. This list isn’t in any particular order. Not all of these dig deep into Eclipse’s character but, if they don’t, they’re still good Eclipse-centric fics that I recommend giving a read.

For a general tag to check out, usually “Eclipse Redemption”, “Redemption Arc”, or even “Fix-It Fic” will get you something. There’s not really one definite tag for it sadly, and stories that aren’t redemption arcs don’t typically go deep into Eclipse as a character.

First in a series! I do recommend the whole series if this one interests you. This takes place after Eclipse’s first death, and goes into a lot of the guilt Eclipse V1 was shown to have. Mostly from Eclipse’s POV.

And, once the pain sets in, he quickly realizes how much he's willing to lose for the promise of another day. Even if that day involves pushing Lunar even further away than before.

Amidst all this, he still manages to say the wrong thing, which...may end up costing his life all over again, judging by that look in Blood Moon's eyes.

This will have 5 parts, and is a sort of redemption arc for Eclipse. That isn't obvious in the first chapter though.

One of the things I love about this series is how Eclipse still keeps his asshole-ish personality after his redemption. It’s one of the fanfics that I feel still keeps him pretty in character to canon after he’s supposed to be better.

This is not Eclipse-centric, but does do a very good job at dealing with both his and Lunar’s trauma. Honestly, just an overall good fix-it fic for TSAMS.

@adelarsims - You are an essential in my mods folder!! I love how much realism and/or character your cc adds to sims, from things like the piercing holes to the wonky glasses to the mechanic overlay... Just so many little things that I can't imagine not having in my game or on certain characters now. Speaking of characters, your sims both original and premade are always so gorgeous, and I really enjoy your interpretations of wg and jeb. & Thank you for being WCIF friendly, I know it takes time to get that info but it's so appreciated, u've help me find some very beloved pieces of CC. Also the level of dedication u have to organizing your mods folder is incredible and you've inspired me a lot to get my folder's act together finally!! Which is SUCH a QoL improvement

@bearphase - I adore the bright legacy and I admire all the little details and effort you put into your posts, like fixing clipping issues, making icons and templates for custom careers or story events, ur creativity really shines through. @oshinsimblr - Long 1 incoming... While I've never been a sims 4 hater, like a lot of people I've still struggled with the gameplay aspect of this iteration, so it's been really inspiring to watch how you go about your game and immerse yourself in it, see all the care you put into your sims. I have to thank you for the videos you've made on it, like the one on how to make sims you connect to, season 1 of Lovesick where you went basically vanilla with the specific intent to show people how much you can do with imagination and what that looks like in gameplay! It's been literally game-changing for me lol and helped me to have more fun with my saves, even if they're not one of the rare few that starts out off the rails, I get more enjoyment playing it out until things do start happening outside of my control. & YOUR CC RECS!! I've downloaded so many of the mods you've recommended and I love how much they fill out the game. On the topic of Lovesick, I have not been able 2 get enough!! I'm so hooked lmao. Watching this series has really taken me back to the days when I was a teen reading like those particularly juicy drama-filled sims 3 stories you can't help but to keep clicking "next page" on, except Lovesick is so solid writing-wise. SO excited to see where Lizbeth is going in her life!!

@simandy - Your hairs have been an essential in my CAS folder for so long, and I've been so impressed with the evolution of your creations over the years. I've always liked your work but GODDAMN the quality always blows me away these days!! & I really, really adore and appreciate the variety! @squea - ANOTHER SORT OF LONG ONE BUT ... Your sims just POP!!! SO much character, and your edits and art r phenomenal. Corn is one of my favorite little digital guys I've had the pleasure of experiencing on line in all my years in the sims community reading stories and gameplay. If Cornelius has a million fans I am one of them. If Cornelius has ten fans I am one of them. If Cornelius has no fans I am no longer on the earth. If world against Cornelius, I am against the world. So on and so forth TBH you've also helped me have a lot more fun with the sims 4 talking about how you enjoy your game, and have a healthier mindset about my place in the community and connect back with the reason I made this blog in the first place, which was just to have fun and archive something I love, regardless of whether it got any attention or not! I started going MIA a bit post 2019 after really getting involved in the community, for Life Happens reasons, and naturally the lack of consistent posting for a while meant less eyes on whatever I came back to share. For a while I let that discourage me esp when a lot of effort was put into something, but after you posted about just genuinely enjoying ur game and loving what you made regardless of notes it made me realize what I was doing and helped me get back to that state of mind. Now whatever I make gets to matter simply because it matters to me, even if I post it at like 3am bc I'm so excited and no one ever sees it bc of that DHKDHKHSD. & I feel like I have u to thank for that!! U turned da lightbulb on

@thefoxburyinstitute - I could not make a gratitude post without forgetting to include the foxbury institute!! I've been messing around more with making CC the last couple of months and your blog has been so incredibly helpful, and I highly recommend everyone interested in creating or just wanting to maintenance and mend their mods folder a bit check them out!

@tricoufamily - YOUR RENDERS ARE SO GORGEOUSSS and I love your take on the Villareals. I never ran into the original story so I'm really excited tbh to see whats up ur sleeve... also I love everything you've shared about two headed lamb so far, so eerie and offputting in the best way. @void-imp I know we just followed each other a few days ago but ur trio is SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!! I love Jab's design so much and I rlly enjoy what I've read about aleksey so far. :-)

@warwickroyals - Ok so first off your clothing is a STAPLE in my folder for my more wealthy and/or fashion-oriented sims! And as for the Warwick Legacy? One of my absolute favorite simblr stories I've read. I still remember when I started it, it was pretty late at night so I was just planning on reading a handful of posts and then picking it back up the next day. That did not happen I could not stop. Straight up stayed up the entire night bingeing all the way to the latest post (which was the Big Phillip Thing. I had to get up from my computer to pace I was having a Moment LOL) I've got some catching up to do but so far I think that's been my favorite arc. Aside from that your editing is beautiful, and I've always been a character enjoyer so I'm in love with how much thought you've put into all of yours, and the fact we get to learn so much about them. I think you do a really good job of balancing the cast and I really dig your storytelling style in general.

@whimsyalien I know u post moreso on twitter but since u ARE technically also on simblr... I just wanna say I love the polaris legacy and thank you so much for all the poses and templates you share!!!

@windbrook THANK YOU for making so many fantastic builds and for sharing your saves, it's one of my absolute favorites. Also all the original sims u post are so striking, and ur cartoon-ish makeovers were so much fun!! Loving the recent builds/world pics u shared as well, and looking forward to whatever you create whether its in sims 4 or a previous game in the series!

@yooniesim Your cc is a more recent addition to my folder but there's so many things you've made and I'm sure will make that are essentials there now, like the teeth and body hair and god that necklace set for men is a necessity, but outside of that I love a lot of the other CAS CC you make you have some of the cutest hairs and I really adore the accessories! Thank you also for speaking out on certain issues within the community.

To My Followers: thank u all for sticking with me even as I've been a biiit flaky over the years.
