religious calendars are fun until you get to the point where like. you try to hard to make everything line up and you spend a long time trying to figure out where to place this One Festival bc you dont recognize the month name so you have to dig in to that, and you almost get sucked into trying to figure out a totally different regional calendar, just to place this One Festival

and then you hit a wall of 'time is made up anyway' and 'you dont use lunar months so that requires adjustment' and 'like 75% of this stuff will never line up Completely bc of the differences in climate/seasons'

and you take a deep breath and throw a dart board at your google doc and call it good

i think the other thing with being an animal is also like. you have got to connect to nature. put your hands in the dirt. spend time just observing the seasonal changes in the trees/flowers/etc around you. look for the moon at night. stand in the sun with your eyes closed and just feel it on your skin.

Going to a furry con is like. Playing pretend but it’s all grown ups. It is incredibly cringe from the outside, but when you’re in the environment. I’m just a little doggie. I’m wagging my tail.

arthur and john. one of the most ships of all time. they make me feel ill.

like nothing is ever going to compare to all the shit they have going on. fighting for control of the body. talking each other in to and out of committing murder. having your survival so directly tied to the survival of someone else. the complete lack of privacy. the sacrifices. john making a sacrifice with His hand that is ultimately Arthur's hand. the lies. my god the lies. having one entire sense belong to someone else. the prison pit. the prison pit murder, and then cannibalism, when one of them relives the final moments of the guy they just killed. arthur killing himself to keep john from being part of the king. john giving himself up to save arthurs life. arthur's desperate joy and relief and love at john's return. john's desperate attempts to keep arthur from making friends other than him, his jealousy at arthur getting to interact with other people. john's fear that arthur will hate him. the way they each hold power over the other in completely different ways. the way they refer to themselves as part of a whole. they aren't 'you and i' they are we and us. how they each influence each other's growth as people, how they wrestle with morality, together.

and this isnt even all of it, this is just the stuff that makes Me Personally go feral

other ships will have some of this, but nothing will ever have all of this.

generally i think deacon doesnt care much for gender and sees it as a part of a disguise, something that allows him to move in certain ways amongst people. but also when he cares about it, he really cares, and it is complicated and he doesn't like being put in one box or another.
