Sloth｜Diligence

Snapdragon: Snapdragon makes a person appear fascinating and cordial according to some people, and in the language of flowers, snapdragons are said to represent both deception and graciousness.

Maglor was laid out to be the kindest of his brothers, which I think just means that he knew how to act around people to get them to like him, as well as him being a singer/musician in a world made of music, where music shapes the world, makes it obvious that he manipulated people (maybe even the world itself in a little scale) for his own benefit.

#silm #silmarillion #lotr #rivendell #maglor #erestor #i hope you do not mind me borrowing garthaglir like a particularly cool rock on the playground #i imagine glorfindels arrival at rivendell like #he walks into the library and runs into garthaglir #both of them scream #but then later glorfindel sat him down and taught him to do fancy braids #now they are friends #later he was part of the redhorn pass search and rescue team out of loyalty to the people who took him in #(bonus points if he was originally a caradhras orc...) #he has joined glorfindel in Team Hair Down During Battle and elrond is so tired #although later he teaches elrond the local dialect of black speech #they spend weeks in the library transcribing texts and poring over the etymology of particularly quenya-derived words #orcs are kind of undead (see: aure entuluva battle) and elrond is weird and somewhat maiarin #somebody eventually forces them to go take a break after three weeks of nonstop linguistics-bonding #feanors ghost is Proud #(he also is glad that erestor eventually befriended lindir because hey! thats one grandkid who didnt disown everyone) #the one old feanorion and thingols guard both refuse to modernize their armor #elrohir is like 'you know mail is a thing now right?? leg armor has existed for two ages and youre still wearing your fancy battle robes' #to which both of them will yell something only vaguely understandable about modern armor being poorly made #and then proceed to fight about whose armor was actually more effective at the dagor nuin giliath #(theyre that old)

Day 1: Maedhros for @feanorianweek

Pride｜ Humility

Clematis: Purple Clematis symbolizes intelligence and resilience. If you receive purple clematis, your admirer holds you in high regard. Clematis is also a prideful flower, as well as the color purple which is a royal, prideful, color.

I think Maedhros had a very conflicting relationship with his status. He was born as the second heir to the throne after his father, and when he finally got it, he´s taken hostage, then when he was rescued, he gave it over to his uncle. Most of his time as king was spent as a prisoner of war. The whole idea that he was raised to be a king and then when he gets it it´s taken from him and he has to learn to be a war lord instead, not a war king, but a lord. Then he chooses to go to Himring and in a way starts acting like a king, The Union of Maedhros most noticeable, or at least a high prince, and I don´t doubt that most of Feanor´s followers see him as their king till the end of the first age.

#fëanor #maedhros #my art #silmarillion #the brainrot continues i'm afraid. yes i'm aware of how much feanor&maedhros stuff i've drawn and written here in the past couple of weeks #i too am horrified. not surprised though #fëanor & maedhros #why so many floral ornaments on their clothes? they're noldor! you might ask. and you would be completely right #i have no idea what i'm doing #i have a very limited fantasy i just copy the ornaments from whatever clothed i find on pinterest and like #i DON'T enjoy thinking ohhh what kind of clothes and ornaments would these characters wear if we take into account their culture and the we #ther (which we know nothing about) their individual personalities their character arcs and symbolism the parallels between them and the oth #r characters. i DON'T care!!!!! and i can't just leave their clothes unadorned. so here we are #i say if the clothes match the characters vibe — great amazing good lovely. if they don't — fantastic splendid beautiful wonderful
