Also hat man alles weiß gestrichen und zigtausend Lampen aufgehängt. Und jetzt sieht es dort aus, als wäre man an der geheimen unterirdischen Haltestelle von Aperture Science.

dropping this rant here cos I got nowhere else to put it tbh

ive been doing "freelance" social work which really just means im wandering into every office possible trying to talk to literally anyone that can help my friend escape abuse and obtain resources and like... I myself know how to navigate this because of personal experience, I've been at rock bottom a couple of times and I'm okay now, but so many people werent as lucky as me—sometimes literally because they're scared, or made aggressive because of self defensive social coping mechanisms. I knew how to ask for what I needed and I was relatively safe so I was at ease... but there's so many people out there who are scared and don't know what steps to take or what options are available and their instincts are telling them every person or option is a danger.

I wish it wasn't a giant bureaucratic slog and I want to stick a wedge in the system that made it that way.

That being said—if you can or if you have the time read about resources your community offers. It's good to know for yourself and for those around you— you'll never be able to predict when one day you'll need the number or location or email that saves yours or someone else's life.
