I snuck out of school but got caught by the neighboring kindergarten, but they had a sub so I pretended to be a kindergartener for an hour so I wouldn't be sent back to class. Then the class was over and I broke into my math teacher's house, stole her purple shoelaces, pet her dog, and left through the front door.
You’ve mentioned before that, because many tumblr users don’t want to broadcast their use of tumblr to the world, you like to hide tumblr “Easter eggs” inside your designs. I really like the idea of tumblr shoelaces, but I personally (although I’m sure I’m not the only person) would feel uncomfortable wearing the ones from the shop, because it’s pretty blatantly declaring my use of tumblr to the people around me.
Have you considered shoelaces that say “Property of the President of the United States”, “Property of POTUS”, “For Use Only by the Commander-in-Chief”, or something like that? I feel like that could be a fun but slightly more subtle nod to the “I like your shoelaces,” “Thanks, I stole them from the president” post.
I agree with you 100%.
From the feedback I've gotten I was thinking with the next drop to make them a dark color (white gets dirty too quickly) and the laces them will say "Property of the President" on them and on egglets they'll have little tumblr t's as the easter egg.
We still have a bunch of the old shoelaces but I think I'm going to do a sale on them soon and then we can order new ones.
Hi! Love the efforts you've been putting into making this site financially healthy! Can you maybe also put shoelaces in the t15 store? The shirts aren't my style but I guarantee that Almost Everybody will buy tumblr brand shoelaces
Hi @but-yet-it-is!
Rest assured, we’re currently in the works to add new merch to the Tumblr shop and yes, we heard the pleas and there will be shoelaces. It’s happening!
