Shizuo looked to the man sitting next to him with the corner of his eyes. The sight was so interesting that he forgot his own drink, simply holding it still a few inches from his lips, as if he had become a statue.

Izaya, the known information broker, chugging one bottle after the other, nearly comically falling off his seat as he turned his head back to make sure every little drop of alcohol fell into his mouth. Since when the flea was this much of a drinker?

The blonde sighed, shaking his head in disapproval as he decided it would be best to just let him be and mind his own businesses. Finally sipping from his cup, Shizuo frowned when he noticed the beer had already become warm. 

“You need to… learn how to enjoy those, Shi-zu-chan.”

The debt collector turned his head to the side as Izaya’s voice reached his ears, his words were lazily spoken, almost dragged out of his lips. His cheeks, ears and neck tainted with a shameless shade of red. He was wasted, Shizuo thought.

However, after taking a second look at him, Shizuo felt that something was off or, rather, missing. Almost sure it was because of the drinks he had, but Izaya didn’t seem as quick-witted as he usually was, neither sassy, mouthy, teasy and… not as annoying. Shizuo raised an eyebrow, curious about this new side of the flea.

“Huh,” he chuckled, placing his cup down, “maybe you should learn the time to stop, flea,” he said in mockery, testing out some of his theories.

“Meanie,” Izaya whined, pouting as he rested his head on his hands, trying to sound mad, “you should… be nice to me, you know?”

The blonde couldn’t hold back his grin at that answer. The alcohol really had the best of Izaya and, now, all that was left was that mess of a man sitting next to him.

“Aight, aight, I apologize, but you should really call it a day,” Shizuo chuckled softly, placing his hand over Izaya’s and stopping him from taking the cup to his lips. “You’ll have a hangover tomorrow at this rate,” he tried to reason as if Izaya wasn’t already completely wasted.

But, to his surprise, Izaya didn’t say anything this time, just turned his eyes to him, giving Shizuo an angry look as he pouted. “I don’t… hic care, you… dumb Shizu-chan,” he muttered, weakly - and awfully slowly - jerking his hand away from the blonde’s grip and taking the cup to his mouth.

As much as he found it quite cute, truth to be told, Shizuo sighed as he felt some sense of responsibility over that scene. It was his idea that he and Izaya went out for a few drinks, but he didn’t expect things to turn out like that. Izaya did seem to be enjoying himself and, maybe, he was just starting to be a little overprotective.

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

There were some k-pop ships I used to ship but as time went by I just stopped. Maybe because I’m not as much into k-pop as I used to be.

I also don’t ship any of Hetalia’s characters anymore.

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

Stella and Brandon from Winx Club or Kevin and Gewn from Ben 10: Alien Force. That was even before I was aware of what shipping was.

While I was aware, I think it was Shizaya? Durarara was one of the first animes I watched. And Heiwajima Shizuo and Orihara Izaya's love-hate relationship was so good for a 12-year-old me.

Or it could be SasuNaru…

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

Written it was Merciless. 

But read? That was so long time ago...

I remember I found some Ben 10 stories on the Internet and I read a lot of them as a kid.

But when I read and I was aware I was reading fanfics it was most likely SasuNaru or Darry. It was most likely still on Wattpad or fanfiction.net. On or those self-publishing blogs. Those were popular back then.

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

Probably SasuNaru. Or another ship that was popular at the beginning of the 2010s.

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

I try not to. I mostly believe that fiction is fiction and when I don't like something I just don't read it.

I like to read people's points of view though.

6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?

Not really. I used to hate UkFrance from Hetalia but now I just don't care. And I never really shipped Destiel. But I'm not sure I would call them a no-otp.

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

A new chapter of Merciless fic that I'm always waiting for was published. It's called Hidsight by duty_free. AND IT'S AWESOME, GO READ IT. It's a wonderful continuation to The Merciless that can actually fix those two morons (I have hope, it's still ongoing)

Before it, my friend @frayed-at-the-seams published her fic about Junho and Hoyeol from D.P. It's called Dogs and Cats. It's an interesting supernatural spin on the original story and it allows Junho and Hoyeol to be cute ❤️

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

Zeke x Levi from Shingeki no Kyojin. I used to not be much into it but there is an amazing reincarnation comic AU on twitter (here) with them and I have to say that they have a potential.

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be canceled over?

Not sure... There were some ships that I wasn't aware of age. I don't mind ships with big age differences but I like for both parties to be over 18.

So maybe as an example Levi x Eren? Eren was 15 and now looking back I'm not sure if I would ship it. 

12. What was your favorite crack ship?

Tried to think of something but my head is empty. I don't believe I don't have any crack ships!

13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics of?

Shizaya, GinHiji or ChanBaek. They have big fandoms so I could just move from one fic to another. 

Also YoonMin. I used to ship them a lot but now not really but I read a lot of fics with them.

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

They usually banter or tease each other. Those love-hate relationships are my favorites. And more of them lately have an age difference.

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

Lack of chemistry? I hate too much drama but also don't like where everything is fine. And cheating.

There are so many that I tought would be forever, specially from my childhood shows. Still they give me the nostalgia tingle, so its not indifference. But maybe some like Katara and Aang? Like them but dont much care. Oh, and Hinata and Naruto I dislike now, after the ignored confession I just lost all interest.

Kind hard to tell, maybe Isa x Alex from Isa TKM? I was really invested (but Isa did have some serious mental problems)

My first fanfic was a Harry Potter elf insert, so no ship there, now my first couple one was AMUTO from Shugo chara

It was probrably Sasuke x Sakura, i remember I loved the youtube videos with their fanarts, specially thought Sakura with akatsuki robe looked super cool

Hm, maybe drarry? It wasn't dislike per say. But just seemed weird shipping them because of my childhood. But the fanfic were so good that I gave a chance.

Sterek and Shizaya. Sterek has the age gap that o didn't even realize was there when I was younger. Shizaya is just all levels of toxic enemies.

Akafuri, I have it so bad for them. And it was extremely funny when they stopped being a crack ship. Also spideypool? When I started Shipping them they also didn't have anything on them, it was just funny the two together, so it's crazy that they have comics together.

Probably zosan, sterek and drarry? Zosan was in portuguese, sterek when I started reading in English and the Harry Potter fandom just has so many...

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

I think I have a lot of enemies/rivals ships? Or that usually have some kind of banter going on.

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

First, when they are boring. Second, I hate ships where one side (A) is completely obsessed with the other (B). Specially when B does not show any interest in person A and seem clueless. I can watch romance story with these plot, but I feel like in other genres they always mess the execution up and I never feel B truly has deep feelings, just that A is convenient (thats why I don't like ships such as naruhina, gruvia, stydia, Hancock x Luffy...). Just not my cup of tea.

A Cheap Imitation has to be my first recommendation. It's a really great fic and one very beloved in fandom. @shigaeruigaeru on tumblr is even recreating it as a comic which you should also definitely check out because his work for the fandom and Shizaya is incredible.

Life is an Unknown Course by UmiHinode is a lovely fic. It follows the pairing after Ketsu and them reuniting.

Remember the Monsters by Illupin is a very funny story that follows Shinra reminiscing about the two of them in highschool. It's canon divergence which you will learn why near the end of the fic if you read it!

To Hell and Back by corteae is the Shizaya road trip we never knew we needed until this amazing story.

Title: lonely souls no longer lonely.

Fandoms: Danny phantom. Durarara!!

Plot Summary.

Danny has to leave home because it's no longer safe for him.

In this fanfic Danny was adopted by the fentons when he was 3 years old. He is actually the illegitimate son of Orihara Shirou and is Orihara izaya's little half brother that he has no idea about or that he knows exists in the first place.

The rest of this fic would be focusing on Danny just trying to survive in the City of Ikebukuro. But he keeps getting mistaken for izaya.

(Update, there have been major changes that I have decided to make. I realized my original version didn't really have much of a story so I'm redoing it and actually making a story. It's not going to exactly match what I describe here. It's also the same for my other stories too.)

Title: x marks the spot.

Fandoms: Danny Phantom. Teen Titans.

Plot Summary.

It is no longer safe for the Fenton siblings so they leave their home dimension and they go to the DC universe.

There were some complications leading to Danny and his clone Ellie becoming babies at age 1 or 6 months.

And the title says it all (well at least the former one. I've decided to go with this title just because it's better than my original one.) Jazz is Red X in this, 50/50 if Jazz is gender fluid which would explain the more masculine appearance of Red X.

It's mainly just bamf jazz, she's raising her kids, kicking ass, and stealing stuff from evil corporations in Rich assholes.

50/50 if it is jazz x dick, but we'll just have to see.

The story would pick up where the Teen Titans cartoon ended. Perhaps the black and white monster could have been a ghost, maybe one connected to Danny and Ellie? Maybe we learn why Tara came back. FYI I know that there's a Teen Titans comic called Teen Titans go not the same as that cartoon, it's set in the original series. Point is I'm not following the comics, I'm going to do my own thing instead.

Plot Summary.

Izaya Orihara wakes up on a mysterious Island inhabited by creatures long extinct and creatures of myth.

He is shocked to find his rival shizuo that he hasn't seen in 3 years. He finds him as an old man in his fifties.

So he spends the next 10 years repairing the relationship with shizuo and figuring out what the hell happened, only for him to wake up again on a mysterious Island younger and with shizuo coming onto the island the very next day.

(Update, so at the time I posted this I didn't know as much about Ark lore. I did some research and I realize I had some things wrong, so it's not going to be exactly like how I mentioned it here.)

Don't have very much for the story except the ocs end up adopting izaya and shizuo as their new parents. The ocs are similar to izaya and shizuo.

been rewatching “Durarara!!” lately, and it’s one of my favorite animes (biased from nostalgia but whatever). the show is a bit complicated to explain, but to sum it up:

it follows the story of a “headless horseman” or “Dullahan” (irish mythological creature) which is basically a “headless rider” who carries their head while riding on a black horse [said to be the embodiment of a Celtic god or something like that]. anyway, it sounds crazy, but bear with me for a bit. the anime makes its own rules of course, so the headless horseman is a badass chick named Celty Sturluson (she wears a cute yellow kitty helmet) and she’s easily the most lovable character in the series who could do no harm. the premise of the story is that she’s an immortal entity that traveled from Ireland to Japan (Ikebukuro) who came searching for her missing head that she lost centuries ago. will she find it? watch Durarara!! and find out (no but she’s got super OP powers like being able to create weapons like scythes and knives out of thin air with her mysterious powers).

the entire show takes place in the restless city of Ikebukuro, Japan and there exists an online + anonymous gang called “Dollars” and you really feel immersed into the setting, because they somehow are able to make you feel involved in their online chat rooms as they gossip about city drama. i’m always a huge fan of anime shows that take place in big cities because i’m naturally a city person, so i find it very chaotic, yet rhythmic and soothing compared to those quiet, boring suburban neighborhoods.

aside from Celty, the entire cast is pretty diverse, the opening theme tells you all of the main/minor characters names and you learn more about each character’s life every few episodes which build character development - tying the overall plot of the story together while giving enough context. there’s 2 openings and 2 ending songs (25 episodes total) and the first ending song was my absolute FAVORITE because it shows all of the characters holding each other in one really long image, it’s super wholesome and awesome because of how symbolic it is (it even became an internet meme template that people still love today).

i could honestly go on about this anime for hours, but two of the most fan-favorite characters at the time were Shizuo (blonde) and Izaya (smug twink with fur hood jacket) who absolutely despise each other (more context will be given after you watch just a few episodes). if Shizuo sees Izaya on the streets, he starts going FERAL and chases after his little skinny ass. their relationship in itself is comic relief genius, and 100% my type of humor. i love these two. any OG anime fans will remember this - they were a cultural reset for the yaoi fangirls in 2010, their ship name is “Shizaya”. good times.

in conclusion, this anime just...hits home for me. it’s nostalgic, it had a way different/unique animation style for 2010 at the time. i’m a hipster weeb nowadays who mostly rewatches old stuff. i seldom indulge myself into newer mainstream animes due to personal reasons. however, i highly recommend Durarara!! if you haven’t seen it. it’s a /must watch/ if you enjoy cityscapes, fictional gang violence, supernatural elements, and the like.
