every time (every time) one of my fun fandom/shitposty posts breaks containment & I start getting followers from it, I also start getting hostile & antisemitic-in-the-name-of-anti-zionism comments on my posts about antisemitism, so it’s basically just standard procedure now that anytime one of my posts pops off take a few minutes out of my day to screen any new followers & see if they’ve posted anything unhinged about Israel and/or Jews

and more often then not, unfortunately, there is. usually some conspiracy theory about global (((zionist))) control/connections, something grotesque in support/denial of october 7th, or calling any acknowledgement of it “propaganda”, or calling for the social (if not literal) death of israeli Jews. frustrating, tiring, but it’s just the new normal I guess…
